Having some issues with receiving calls and SMS on my OPO when connected to my home wifi router, I have searched forums and official OPO forums bit have had no luck finding a solution.
Im from the UK and use virgin mobile (uses the EE network), router is the virgin superhub if that makes a difference
Problem seems to have been happening since I got the phone (begining of Dec 14) but I only became aware of it around new year, girlfriend has an OPO also and does NOT have this issues.
Phone is the global model running stock cyanogen 44, android version 4.4.4
Any help would be appreciated, struggling with this one
Thanks

This has been an off and on again issue for many devices since 4.3 was released. I did a google search and Nexus 5 was plagued by this. There's a long thread on the google support forum, with several OPO posts. The thread is more than a year old, and no root cause has yet been discovered. There appears to be no rhyme nor reason regarding who gets it and who doesn't. I have had this happen intermittently, and a reboot usually solves it. For those who suffer this chronically, the only work around seems to be to keep the phone on 3G preferred. Don't let it connect to LTE.

Yea I found some people talking about the issue on other devices, seems really weird, and yea I did change the preferred network setting to 3g (was previously set as 4g which my network doesn't provide me with) and it worked for a while, however seemed to start again recently, will search for those threads and have a read, thanks for the help
Any other info from people with this issue would be helpful too,
Is it possible that changing my routers broadcast channel would make a difference, could it interfere with the radio?
Thanks again
Still having this issue, yesterday I reflashed stock cyanogen 44 via fastboot method and problem is even worse now, the issue seemed to be every now and again but seems to happen every time now
No longer receiving calls when connected to 3g and WiFi either, only workaround seems to be if I switch to 2g mobile services and I'm still able to receive calls on WiFi
Is there an easy way to make my phone auto switch to 2g on WiFi (closest iv found is disabling mobile data on WiFi)
Thanks, hope anyone has some more info on this
Edit; found a workaround by using g cyanogen profiles to downgrade to 2g on my home networks, but still looking for info on a perm solution, thanks
I´m having the same issue with Wifi turn on, I cannot make or receive calls.
Let me know if you find a solution.
Intermitent issues receiving calls on OnePlus One when in WiFi
I'm also having this intermittent (Not always!) problem of not receiving calls in my OnePlus One when connected to WiFi. This started to happen after a regular upgrade to Android 5.0.2 (Cyanogen OS 12.0-YNG1TAS17L).
I found the solution in forums.oneplus.net. Just search for: virgin-mobile-uk-no-incoming-calls-with-wi-fi-enabled-and-3g-lte in Google and you will find the link. Go to page 3 on this posting.
The issue is related to the fact that calls fail while in WiFi and LTE. Create at least two System Profiles (Settings -> System Profiles). One to change the "Preferred network type" to 2G when connected to any of your WiFI networks, and another that changes the "Preferred network type" to 2G/3G/LTE when disconnecting from any of your WiFI networks.

Hi all,
First time poster, long time lurker I'd just like to say thanks to everyone in the community. You guys rock.
That said, I am having a minor issue with my G1. I have T-Mobile & my phone is SIM unlocked (I don't know if that would make a difference) and currently running JFv1.5 with the latest radio (2.22.19.26I). The problem is that when I disconnect from a wireless network, my data connection to T-Mobile doesn't pick back up. When I go into Call Settings / Network Operators I let it search for networks and sometimes my phone will have to Re-Register on T-Mobile and other times it will say that its already registered to T-Mobile but the data connection still won't work. The only thing I've found to solve that is a reboot of the phone.
This has happened a few random times when I was on RC33 and one of the Haykuro builds but it has become more frequent since I've updated to JFv1.5. Also, I dunno if it helps to mention but I went to a T-Mobile store earlier this week & swapped out the SIM card with a new one and have gotten the same results.
Is anyone else having this problem? I've searched to no avail and was curious. Thanks.
dissconnect
That's just typical crappy T Mobile service have the same prob here since I'm not close to a T Mobile tower when it loses web access it dumps the connection to reconnect
So that's it? I should chock this up to my carrier's signal being ****ty in random places? No one else has had this issue at all?

I am having this issue. Never had a problem until I updated the radio to the latest version
I have had the new radio since the JF build with cupcake. My signal was great until yesterday. It will go from the lowest to highest in the case of the bar. When I reboot my phone it takes much longer to connect to the network. BUT I think my issue is with the fact my market (Columbus, Ohio) was rumored to get 3G by this june. So I am guessing its just TMobile doing the upgrades and whatever they need to do to impliment the 3G rollout.
lately ive been having horrible service. dont know if it has to do with the new LX being released.
Hi,
I am on 5.02h and was having random disconnects on .26 radio.
I went back to .22 saffaire radio and my connection is more stable now.
I am not sure if others have experienced this as well.
I have flashed my phone yesterday with latest from Haykuro with CUPCAKE. (NO SD APPS)
Phone is running a little slower and I started having the issues with the DATA connection.
In the middle of the Web page loading, the phone looses data connection and I am only left with ability to use voice. The data connection comes back in a few minutes and same thing happens as soon as start using the data connection again.
I do not know if previously stable connection at my location all of a sudden became bad or the new build is causing this.......
just to add
Not to dissenlighten people here but t mob has crappy serivce to rural areas. I myself live in brunswick md usa. I have had. 2 bars since I first got this phone with rc30 with constant dumps to no signal all the time when it upgraded to rc33 still the same thing. Then I rooted my to jf rc33 still the same thing. After that I used jf 1.5 and it still craps out. When I go 20 mins to the north to frederick,md I get full bars and no dissconnects so if it where a radio issue there would have been some kinda difference between radio updates. I myself am a ham operator so I should know how radio signal works so when I chock it up to t mobs crappy service I do not do this lightly since the nearest tower is 20 mins either way from me. People need to stop blaming other peoples builds for this issue since the radio update is from google. If I pop a att sim I get full bar and no dissconnects cause the tower they use is closer that's how I know it's a t mob problem not an issue with the radio. Remember troubleshooting is the best way to see where the problem is. Till t mob puts up more towers and fixxes the packet loss to the phone to remedey this then we will all have crappy service which does not seem to be in the near future for anyone.
I had a similar problem when I was on stock RC30. I called in to tech support and they set up a new APN on the phone so it would switch back to EDGE faster if I lose the wifi connection. I would suggest if you're not around stable wifi, just turn it off.
Hi all. I am not new here and most of the time I spent here is reading rather than posting.
Recently, I’ve change mobile carrier from 3HK to NWMobile, I found a weird thing happened in my Nexus S i9020A which is bought in Canada last year.
Before changing the carrier, the phone works flawlessly. After changing the carrier, the first call is perfect but in the subsequent calls, both the recipient and me cannot hear each other. The only way to solve the problem is to restart the phone. It’s not a good idea to restart it after every call. I have searched and read many posts here and found some of the users here also faced the same issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1536487&highlight=sound
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356231&highlight=voice
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494930&highlight=voice
However, nobody post a solution so far.
I did a little bit research. The device has quad-band GSM and therefore there shouldn’t be any problems with 2G network in HK. Concerning 3G, all carriers here use UMTS 2100 and this is supported by i9020A. I can access to data under 3G.
If this is radio related, why can I have the first call without any issue? Any ideas or solution will be highly appreciation.
Ps. My phone has never rooted nor unlocked bootloader, running stock 2.3.6
I have same problem with you. I'm try to update to 4.0.4 but still problem.
Sometime my phone working good but now it's still problem.
Hi,
I have recently purchased a used OnePlus One 16GB Unlocked phone from CEX, and it looks and performs great. However, upon trying my SIM it shows No Service/emergency calls only.
Ironically enough emergency calls arent possible either. I'm with giffgaff, (O2's network) and it would not make/receive calls where I live (West-London). Tried a Lebara sim too, same results.
IMEI number is fine, checked with CheckMend. Faffed about with APN settings, manually connecting to the network, but while I'm home it could hardly find O2's network and even then it shows no service. (usually finds EE and Vodafone but I haven't got those sims.)
Took it to work today and it seems to be working "fine" at work. What I mean by "fine" is that I can make/receive calls, watch HD youtube videos no problem, but download speed from various websites and from the play store would be about 20kb/s and connection would drop every now and then. Switching between 3G and 4G makes no difference whatsoever. Also tried the *#*#4636 options but if I switch preferred modes it doesn't save, it defaults to whatever it wants to upon reboot.
It improves outside of work and it's pretty usable, but it drops just before I get home. This area does have bad O2 coverage but with my old Samsung Galaxy S2 and sh*tty Sony Xperia E1 I always get a decent signal even at home.
So originally when I thought it had a dead antenna, I thought I would return and get a replacement, but upon googling around I found that OnePlus is at war with O2s network on some devices, so I might have the same issue. Flashing isn't really an option as I've never done it and even though I'm within 30 days I don't think I should brick it.
At this point if I get a replacement I might have the same issue, if I change networks I might have the same issue. I have a hard time convincing anyone at work to lend me their sims for a day.
Any advice would be appreciated. :fingers-crossed:

Could be band issue, but as you say it works on work(outside home) then for sure the sim is compatible with OPO bands.
This issue can be fixed by changing firmware of the device.
I know it would be seem hard at first but it's worth the work.Flashing firmware can greatly increase your signal strength and likely to cop out any issues with data and calls.
But first you need to flash Custom Recovery Twrp and before that you need to unlock the bootloader of your device.
To start with,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2788632
You don't need to do the root section, just the bootloader unlocking then flashing Twrp. Its easy.

Here's a firmware compilation thread just try them and use the one which suits your carrier the best.
Good luck

Sorry for the long post
I’ve had the 1+ since 2014 now, I am rooted and have used various Android 7 and 8 (recently) roms on the device until recently (probably 7 months ago) my 1+ started playing up. I would not get any signal whilst at work; although the building I work is generally poor with mobile signal however I use to get just enough signals to receive a call.
About 7+ months ago this started fading and I would get 0 bars, at first I thought it’s a modem issue so I tried all the different modems and made notes on which one was the best but in the end none of them helped with the situation. I then did what most people do and googled the issue and found that there are lots of other people with similar issue with the oneplus one not working on LTE, many suggested to make sure I visit the engineering menu *#*#4636*#*# and change the connection to LTE/GSM Auto (PRL), however this was already set and yet it was not making any difference. The main issue was not being able to make or receive calls when the device is connected to LTE.
On the odd occasion I was able to make/receive all on LTE when leaving the building but it would be not stable, at times I would get a call but people could not hear me, then sometime I would dial out and the screen would be stuck at “dialing” and nothing would happen. Then I would try few times and it may work or not work at all. So I switched to GSM only (via the secret menu) and the phone would work perfectly, no issues calling out at my work desk or outside and getting all calls without any issues. The issue with this was that on a reboot the settings would go back to LTE/GSM so it was a constant change. On top not being able to use 4G Data speeds was making life harder.
Even when selecting 3G in network settings the phone would not switch to 3G only. I also tried different network provides like 3 UK, Vodafone but still the same issue.
I’ve now come to a conclusion that this is something software related (perhaps?) as the device is failing to switch to 3G when making/receiving calls. When I check the secret menu I see that DATA and VOICE connection is LTE. Now I know this device does not support VoLTE so I thought it would always first aim to connect to 3G signal?? NO?
As a result i’ve moved to Pixel 2 device because I tried everything from different roms to modems, going back to kitkat, CM12.1 and 13 as well as Oxygen OS but was still getting the same problem.
I’ve also come across posts (on google) that people with different oneplus device are suffering from this so not sure if something has been switched on/off on my phone when flashing different roms to have caused this issue or is this a hardware problem?
I’ve spent numerous hours trying different things suggested by many on google but haven’t got anywhere. I have given up trying to get to the bottom of this.
If anyone is out there who have had this issue and have found a solution please let me know, I still very much like the oneplus but with this issue it’s hard to use the device.
Thank you for reading…..

I can relate to you. have similar issue and also tried most of the things you have done. don't know what to do. if you have found something, then reply.
I think I have the same issue here in Italy too.
I tried all modems in the list and downgraded to kitkat but with no luck.
same issue reproduced on lineage os 16.0 India /Airtel

No calls incoming/outgoing over LTE network lineage os 16.0, when changed to 2G network calls works just fine
while LTE no issues with Data connectivity .
any luck for anyone.
Thanks
I don't have the phone anymore (in fact, the same issue made me get a new phone), but maybe try updating the modem?
I have two brand new moto 5g 2022 phones for me and my wife and they both do everything but work right. You can call someone and they answer but you cannot hear them, as they answer their phone, my phone just keeps ringing while they keep saying hello. Other times it calls and won't even ring. They do all kinds of different things and sometimes even do work but when they do you can hardly hear each other. I should say we got these phones because our old phones did almost the same thing. They were so old they only got 2g and 3g so we upgraded to these. Also I checked the 5g map and it shows we have 5g ultra coverage in my area, also attached the file showing the area.
Thank you for anyone that can help with this problem.

If so try disabling wifi calling.

I disabled wifi and same result. I have also rebooted both phones and disabled some apps that were transferred from the other phones.
That's crazy because ever since ive had my 2021 version of the phone, the EXACT same issues have occurred since day one. got the phone in Nov 2021 and still have so many issues with Tmobile towers. Tmobile has a huge handover issue with 5g SA and NSA. Old sprint towers that are still up and running on LTE only, work 100% with no issues, all other towers by 310260 that are configured for CA (carrier aggregation), whether its fdd or tdd ca doesnt matter, I have to airplane mode off then on, wait for the tower to connect, turn off data, wait 5 or so secs and turn data back on, go to the debug menu for the phone *#*#4636#*#* and go to phone information, go down to where it says Ping Test and hit it, make sure that BOTH ipv4 and ipv6 are passing the test. If only ipv6 is passing, then repeat the process until they both connect. This is the only way im able to tell if the tunnel is connected correctly to Tmo. I know HUGE pain in the A but that is the ONLY resolution i have found for this, tmo doesnt care, i have had 20+ tickets opened up and not 1 of them were ever resolved and instantly closed the tkt.
People have claimed that after rooting the phone and installing a custom rom with android 12, that all of the issues are resolved, however I am one of the unlucky people with the xt2131-1 device that will not allow anything other than the stock rom to be installed, bootloader unlocked and rooted but will not allow a custom rom. Last Moto phone I am ever buying.

Thank you for the info, I thought it might be t-mobil itself since the old ones and the new ones are doing the same thing. I did get the one phone to upgrade to android 13 but the other one which is the same phone will not. It still did not make any difference.
