Is there a definitive answer as to whether the composite video inputs can be recorded (e.g. rear cam, front cam)? I have a PX5 MTCE.
Also, I noticed that on the main wiring harness there is another reverse video RCA connector-- why are there two?

Hello,
I try to take some videos for my blog (interviews and discussions) with a wireless microphone instead of the original mic, using the 4 pin conector adaptor. The original camera app don't recognize the mic, but Camera JB+ does.
But, in 2013, Android Jelly Bean 4.2, is able to recognize a USB microphone? Such as Blue Yeti? I need for a more powerfull microphone and the USB can be a good solution. In February 2012, this guy was unable to connect a USB mic (Yeti) to a Samsung Galaxy tablet.
I use this for USB recording:

For only audio it's no dubt that it work. But for videos? You can try it on?
Good evening, everybody. Since I haven't found any thread regarding this, I am asking this myself now.
A701 (and similar tabs like a700 and a500) comes with 2 microphones, which makes stereo sound recording possible. The problem is, none of audio/video recording apps I have tried out seems to "know" how to use both microphones for stereo input. None, except default/preinstalled ACER video camera app, and ONLY while using one of the video filters, like "big eyes" e.t.c., and this is, in my opinion, really weird. I tried RecForge, Camera JB+ and some other apps, which support stereo recording (and works just fine on my xperia arc phone), but no matter which settings I used, I always end up with mono recording (mono sound in stereo file format, to be exact) as output. The fact, that native video app somehow manages to record stereo audio track along the video, makes me believe that its not some fault in my device, but some kind of software/hardware mapping sort of problem. Can somebody confirm this? Any suggestions?
Best regards!
By using 3.5mm plug. I know that N5 doesn't support outing video on the 4th pin, but maybe it would be possible to do some tinkering and make phone use Right sound channel as mono sound and left sound channel as a composite video output? Like use some app to convert picture into particular sound.
I need to record stereo signal on a tablet or smartphone going from a guitar multieffect. It delivers stereo output signal due to applied effects. Output on this device is a stereo jack (size doesn't count).
I know there are special cables which allow to record through mic input in a phone but those are mono.
I need something like audio interface but something not too expensive.
What would it be? Or there are other options?
Anyone have any luck using an external mic when recording audio or video?
Sure every headset mic works.
But I guess you mean external USB Audio recording.
Yes, I have tested this using my ZOOM H4 N. It's a bit tricky and needs an USB 2 Host Adapter, and a software which detects USB Audio Mics. For example "Field recorder" 8.2 does it. You need to adjust the sample rate.
Thanks
