hi all, just wondering whats the updated, best way to restore an OPO back to complete stock android, just want to wipe it clean from any apps i moved into system apps and see if i can get it working fine again, thanks in advance
Search XDA for a thread on it. They have all the files you can flash through adb. Did it once on my opo when I soft-bricked it.
tried following different guides but none seem to be working, just want to put my phone to complete stock like it was when i first got it

Hi there,
I rooted my phone, and following the guide, from the recovery screen did a 'NAND' back up before wiping then flashing a new ROM. Am I right in thinking, the 'NAND' backup took a copy/image of my phone, I.e if I wanted to return my phone to it's original state, with the stock ROM from my vendor, I could just do a 'Nand' restore?
Thanks
Absolutely correct. Can be restored either from within Rom Manager or directly from Recovery.
Thanks Mr Gently,
So I'm guessing now that I've installed a custom Rom and set it up how I like, if I wanted to test drive a different ROM, I could do another 'NAND' backup, incase I don't like the new ROM, restore it back to how my phone is as I'm typing this, apps and all?
Precisely! It's a great feature to have, especially as you can have multiple backups and swap between them as you see fit.
Huzzah!A great feature indeed, thanks for replying.
so i was trying to do a custom boot image. Im a noob and this is what i did. I went into the app called rom installer. I already did a backup of old one and did a backup during this as well.
I found the ZIP and did the whole reboot thing, didnt work, phone was reset. I backed up and now it keeps saying process system not working and gapps not working and everything has stopped. I am unable to use the phone or get to my other backup to try just incase.
Does anybody know how to fix this? or how to get my phone up and running again?
It is better not to try third party applications to boot custom images.
You do a decent research in xda forums and google how to install custom ROMs using Odin.
you may get an idea after a small research, as the process is risky make sure you know what you are doing.
The issue what you facing is not serious, it can be solved by flashing the original Samsung firmware for your device.
I was mucking around with Titanium Backup and froze (*not uninstalled) Blinkfeed. Unfortunately, this caused my phone to crash. Now it will not boot. I am able to get it into CWM recovery, but I never made a .zip to recover from and now I just feel stupid. Is there any way to recover this?
Am I able to do a factory reset in order to get the phone working again? (And also, will this remove my root) The data I'm not terribly concerned about. All important pictures have been backed up already and there are no documents that are dire. I just need a working phone.
Thank you for any help you can provide!
I would just put a rom zip onto a microSD and flash that.
Although I wouldn't have thought that freezing BlinkFeed would crash your phone and get it stuck in a bootloop, so what do I know?
Performed a factory reset and that doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.
I'm going to look into flashing a rom but that is something I haven't done before and I'm not too comfortable with it.
Do you have any suggestions? I just want to keep the standard stuff (what it was shipped with). I was mainly rooting to get rid of bloatware and have a bit more freedom.
EDIT: Rebooted a second time and the factory reset seems to have taken hold. I'm back at square one but it is far better than nothing.
EDIT2: Not quite back at square one as my backup through Titanium Backup still existed and I was able to utilize that. Lost some contacts, call history, and texts. That's all!
Glad to hear that you were able to fix it. If you ever need a stock Sense rom, I would recommend CleanRom. Watch out though, its really easy to become a flashaholic
i did the same thing : )

Or run the stock s-on ruu which doesn't wipe.
Hello xda forums.
Today I decided I would flash the ROM for euphoria lollipop after a long time of being on kit kat. I backed up, system restored, and flashed the new rom and was able to boot into the OS without any issues, other than the fact that all my contacts were gone!
In an attempt to save my contacts I went back into recovery and tried to restore my backup. After doing this, when booting I would still boot into Lollipop, but the bottom bar would disappear and I wasn't able to navigate anything. After factory restoring once more to restore the backup, the backup had disappeared. Now on my phone the only thing I'm able to do is get into recovery. Is there any way for me to get the ROM onto the phone again so I can install it? The nexus 5 doesn't show up under devices and drives in 'This PC'.
Thanks in advance for your help. I really need to get my phone back up and running, even if it means having no contacts
It sounds like you wiped your entire device including the os and your backup. You're going to have to flash the factory image to get it running again. If your contacts were backed up to Google you should get term back after you install the factory image.

Your reply is very much appreciated.
How do I go about flashing the factory image?
Edit: Okay! Got everything done and Euphoria installed properly. I feel like I learned a bunch too! Thank you for your assistance!
Hi there! I have a Stock kitkat d80020y, made root with stumproot but without custom recovery, it's running stock right now.
First of all let me tell that I have in my computer nandroid backup of it (TWRP & CWM) made with OnlineNandroid and one LGBackup made with system restore menu.
Here's the trouble:
I am about to sell my phone so i was backing up some stuff yesterday when i realized it was not syncing contacts with google, after researching a bit I deleted the "com.android.providers.settings" folder which it was situated into "data\data" and rebooted device.
Then, sync problems gone but some another problems came up, couldn't get into some settings just as language, swipe down settings didn't work neither, home button didn't work at all, etc; when tried to use that things, phone just did nothing or stayed one second and got back to home screen. Read something that factory reset would definitely solve my issue, well it did solved it at a glance, home button was functional again but, things like language submenus were still not working.
So then, I try to install an LG Backup using the system app, could restore settings and appeared to be solved, but after another factory reset, remember I'm about to sell it, the whole issues came up again.
As I have nandroid backup I've recently checked the clockworkmod folder and find the deleted folder.
Considering that i could manage to get that LGBackup installed again, could it be possible to paste "com.android.providers.settings" back into "\data\data" folder then?
Should that be the definitely fix? Or I'll have to reflash all nandroid even though I don't wanna take that risk because is just those problems, apparently related to that specific deleted folder, the other things of the phone are intact and work great.
In case of need reflashing, could you tell me about any easy tutorial on how to do it, including custom recovery installation for my stumprooted device?
I don't actually know how to ADB any android device, if you could also help me with the right tutorial and drivers for this phone so i have everything ready just in case of needing CMD to fix this device it would be great.
Hope I get some answers soon so i can quickly fix the device, any ideas are welcomed and will be utterly appreciated.
Sorry for the long text but i wanted to be as clear as i could.
Regards!
