I am facing a wierd problem with watsapp video call on my oneplus one. When i do video calling i cannot hear the other person clearly. I hear their audio with lot of distortion. Only noise will be there but tje voice will be too low. But when i put my mic on mute the audio will be loud and clear. And this problem is only in watsapp and video call alone. I have reinstalled it, cleared cache memory checked permissions and done all internet available solutions but couldnt solve it. I am facing this issue in all custom roms. I have used tugapower nougat , oreo , pie and now on arrow os pie. I have also done a cleanup of my internal storage. I think its a mic interference issue or sensitivity issue but its not happening in facebook or skype video calls. I am confused. Is there anybody else having the same issue or is there a solutiom for this issue?

On my phone,graet when I'm making a phone call the person on the other end can't hear me clearly and it becomes clear after using the speaker (I mean isn't it the same mic?!) And this doesn't happen all the time (sometimes it's just clear sound without using the speaker and the mic is wotking just fine when using viber & facebook calls or just recording anything). It has to be a softwarsoftware issue. right?!
I just bought the phone and I haven't had the chance to compare mine before and after the 38R update because I just bought it and updates were raining dogs and cats.

Hi, I've got some kind of problem with my Mi4c microphone. During calls no one can hear me if I don't use the loudspeaker option, and when I try to record something it's really quiet. I've tried stock ROM, cyanogenmod 12.1 and 13.1. Does anyone know what may be causing it? And what's the fix? Thanks in advance.

Same problem here. It started after updating CM 13.1 TS to version 20161007.

Extremely low microphone volume when doing Skype Echo call test on stock MIUI8, but works normally when calling somebody. Weird.

I have a major issue during videocalls using google duo, skype where if there are any background noise around me, i can't hear the person i am talking to. The audio cuts off. It has to be silent around me in order for me to hear the person i am talking to. Is there any fix to this problem? I have already reset the phone but the problem is still there.
mic (over) sensitivity? perhaps some will stop by and know the file and file entry to edit.
any of this type setting elsewhere (Settings, the app itself, and sound modification yo have installed, eg Viper, etc... that you can check/get to?
I have no sound modification installed. I checked the settings but there seems to be no part adressing this issue. The same problem happens when i use different apps like skype, google duo and signal. Could it be a hardware problem? The microphone works fine when i record a video or recording audio.

Rooted? If so, and you've done a full, clean install, and sure that the install is working ok, maybe try another custom ROM.
Normal calls work, as I get you it's (just) video calls? Another possibility, I'd consider looking up mic sensitivity and ways to decrease it. On the OnePlus One I am aware there was a configuration file folks could mess with to try and resolve that phone's mics over sampling. That was a common issue for many.
Have you tried turning the volume down and see if that has any effect?
Wish I could offer more ideas, I have used video calls maybe 3 times in 8 years.
The phone is not rooted. This problem occurs only when i use internet based videocalls (skype, google duo). The volyme is not usually high when i call. Thank you for your time, hopefully i will find a solution soon.

So guys please help me out here, I recently update to 12.5 and did not test the microphone below this version, I got the phone and installed the update, I notice that it brigs a lot of bugs but I don't now if the problem I'm facing is a bug, error or malfunction. When I use any app that use the microphone the audio is not recorded properly, nothing it's recorded in the first 4 second after that it happen a BIP followed by another one and then record normally, the first BIP when listened with a headphone it's responsible for the left side and the second for the right(recording with any external microphone works fine), I can't show to you guys that's why I describe. I can't send it back so anyone are having this same problem, know anything... ? Thanks!

Yes, this happens to me too.
I think that it is most noticeable on speaker phone.
after uninstalling the call recorder app, the problem got fixed for me, don't know really if it was the problem
