Is there any way to fix these? The phones were not used for months and suddenly these appeared.
To that does not look like burn in at all I would recommend you try test code *#0*#(will not work on Verizon) and check the color tests to see what it looks like in rgb. Also are you with in warranty on that phone?
Screen looks like it's broken. Definitely not a burn-in. A dead pixel would be clearly visible, but you seem to have a long line of them.
Seems that line in your screen doesn't work anymore.

That's definitely not a burn-in
Have you dropped your phone recently?

OPO screen seems to be so sensitive and would unlock my phone in my pocket. The phone will then try to call some one unexpectedly.
Is there anything in CM to protect this. Previous experience in Sony or MIUI phones, the ambient sesnor is checked so that the screen don't get unlocked. Does CM have this feature?
It is probably due to offscreen gestures. If you are not using it, disable them.

they updated them to use the proximity sensor. they announced it today. itll show up in the next update.
Can you link me to where you learned that?

I'm not sure we are talking about the same issue. I turned off the gestures already.
Was wondering about the home button and AOD, would this cause some burn in on the screen by chance? I know that the watch face and other AOD items move but what about the home button itself? Anyone with an S8/+ know any info on if it disappears or moves? Thanks!

I thought burn in were a thing of the pass with oled.
But i dont think it would be that big of a problem, with todays tech.
I guess we will see what happens, if there are problems samsung might have an option to turn it off the buttons display while it sleeps
Burn in doesn't concern me in the least. It can happen, but is a lot less likely than it used to be, and in practice it has not been an issue with any phone I've had the last 3-5 years.
Of course maybe I replace my phone too often to see if it would happen after long term use.

It will move periodically. At least that is the case on my S7E. I don't see why Sanding would change that.
And burn in does happen on OLED. Just look at the display models in stores after six months.
Appreciate the help everyone. I read a review by android authority (I think that's who it was) and it said you can actually turn off the home button on the screen but since it's pressure sensitive it will still work. I'll probably be doing that since I know exactly where the bottom-center of the screen is.

He was talking about the home button icon.
the Always on display information moves around a bit ever hr. But that home button icon on the s8 is lock to that one place.
But as said i doubt it would cause any problems just sitting there.

That's what I did. For that exact reason.
Also worrying about this and disabled it for that reason...

I would like to know for sure, preferably officially from Samsung. I would prefer to leave the on-screen button on because it essentially gives me double-tap-to wake and the alternative method is more like pushing a physical button. But I definitely don't want to get burn-in.
So I have a Honor 5X kiwi, and now I have noticed little white patches when showing a black screen. The display is on, such as when it shows a black wallpaper. I'm not sure what is going on. I don't have time right now to take pictures, but I will if you request them. I've tried the heat method and also putting pressure and massaging it, but to no luck. I also took it apart and put it back together. still no luck. Should I be concerned about it?

I'd say your display has dead pixels.
This can happen when the display wasn't manufactured completely right.
Sadly you can't fully bypass those production faults, you can only try to limit them.
As long as your screen doesn't get way to much dots a few are considered normal and (if I recall correctly) don't fall under warranty unless a certain amount of the screen is dead.
If you want to read up on that topic, here's a wiki article about dead pixels: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defective_pixel
I hope this helps you

no, it's not dead pixels. it is just a little white patch and is visible on black wallpapers and backgrounds. It's barely visible in other colors. I have tried flashing different with colors with apps like "Dead pixel fixer" etc. and no fix at all.
Pressure marks?
So I now have the frontier 3 and noticed that it does not stay locked while worn is there any way around This...locked as in tampered proff like if I was unconscious from other activities....
Lock
Is there any way to keep it locked while on ur wrist
Screen Block (in gear apps); works perfect.

I've heard from several who swim and, in one case, dive with the watch and claim no problems. So who has themselves actually damaged their watch by swimming? Trying to find out which experience is to be believed.
I swim in mine all the time. Never any problems. Still works like a champ
So nobody out there has actually damaged their watch through swimming? Not a one? That's a good sign.
Swim with it all the time (right now, holiday in Spain, sea), never take it off - no problems at all, works fine!
