ElementalX on Oreo and now one Pie too.... Because its VERY STABLE.... THE MOST STABLE AND BEST KERNEL IN MY CHOICE... used FrancoKernel, Radioactive, Smurf and Flash kernels too.... But came back to ElementalX because of EX kernel manager app.... Tested all availble kernels so far...like in two words... Franco is good for battery and overall, Radioactive is Fast, Smurf is also stable, Flash is the fastest so far... Good with antutu with 290000 overall score.... But do you even need that little much speed in games when you have a BEAST.... ITS YOUR CHOICE.... WHAT TO CHOOSE.... and one last words... Smurf is supporting spectrum... But never used that.... FRANCOKERNELS app is also good there are many battery and performance tweaks like spectrum., If you know what am i talking about, Radioactive has its own magisk module with preloaded settings to be more fast and battery effective.... But when you know what is DYNAMIC STUNE BOOST... TOUCHBOOST, GOVERNORS,i/o scheduler and fsync you better to use ElementalX.... because if you know what this settings are for you can reach to best performance and battery life with your own... And be stable too.... I think i helped you eith your choice.... And yes.... You can test it all by your own and make your own decisions... Cause this is ONLY MY DECISIONS.... GOOD LUCK
ExKernel are the best

What settings is there even there to configure?
On EX the default is pretty solid as it is. And then throw in the contents from the second post of his thread of setting stune boost from 10-20 and disable touchboost and that's about it.

Just shifted from EX to blu spark, finding it to be more battery friendly ?

Flash away
Try them all give each one about 2 days and see which one gives you the best battery life. In the kernel thread they will say what version is giving the best battery life so try the one everyone is happy with. Make sure to search. Happy flashing!
Use whichever kernel has the feature set you want then tweak it as you like. Kernel x is no better than kernel y for battery life. It just has different governor settings.
Also there is no optimal setting. Its down to taste but usually the kernel dev will tweak to favour battery, balance or performance.

I have seen people report about 71k score in antutu. The maximum i have ever got is 68k with modified thermal configuration. Is there any other modification (kernel - wise or not) to be done so that I can get the maximum performance out of my mi4c?
Edit: Using miui.eu 6.1.28
They probably make a cold run with disabled thermal config to have better benchmark, not worth it...
sMiui is actually using the best thermal config for me, and i get 69k on first run, then results stabilize at 55k...
There is big (performance, smoothness, stability...) difference between stock miui (from en.miui.com) and custom miui roms?

Xiaomi.eu roms (on which sMiui roms are based) are debloated and optimized a little, so you can expect better performance, not great things, but is worth it...

Ok thanks a lot!
Any kernel settings tweaked?
So I want to know the best combination of a ROM and Kernel that would really improve gaming on the moto g 3rd gen and also be good with multiple apps open. The battery has do be good enough as I still want a decent battery life because after all It's going to be my daily driver.
I also prefer a CM rom since I love the CM theme engine and I do not like OMS or Layers.
current nightly CM13 is snappy, i dont know about other roms
I've gone through many of them. RR (vatsal) is my preference. Fire kernel. Best IMO

Do you have any specific kernel settings and which fire kernel version? Im on RR but not vatsals but im willing to switch. Ur on 7.3?
ROM should mostly be irrelevant here, any stable one should be fine... Kernel will make the difference. For smooth gaming use an OC kernel, but it will be at the expense of battery life. You won't gain significant performance and battery life, it's one way or the other, battery life at the expense of performance or vis-versa.

Yes. Latest RR. Lionfish , zram 1000 2 cores active, alucard, min 200 in GPU. Fire kernel. 128/256
We have plenty of options for kernel, lets get a discussion going on what we like/prefer and why
Currently i switch between Radioactive and Franken as they seem to give me the best performance and battery life i have yet to come to a conclusion on which i prefer or will use as my DD so i constantly switch between the two.
I've tried them all as well. I'm currently on Havoc with Smurf kernel and it has been solid. When I was running Franken ROM with the stock kernel is was also solid. Most of these kernels give me around the same battery life. I switch between Franken and Havoc. I like Havoc because there are more options and it has Android P toggles which are way nicer.

But on the havoc you dont have the true stock oneplus gesture?

The rom was just updated and it fixed the gestures.
I've tried all off them and i keep going back to Radioactive kernel with the devs settings (magisk module) and a private kernel.
Radioactive with devs settings because PERFORMANCE, and really batterylife not that bad either!

But the gesture are the same one of the oos stock or is a similar app? Are smooth with the same graphic or not? Thanks

They are the ones I like the most but franken seems to no longer update. the last one is 3.2 true?
Smurf because:
+ "Smurfutil" CPU governor
+ "Westwood" TCP congestion algorithm available
+ "Maple" I/O scheduler available
+ Works well and is included with HavocOS (currently my favorite ROM)
+ Extremely responsive dev
The last two are probably the most important.

correct
was released a couple weeks ago, i think dev is focused on the rom now, not to say the kernel isnt good or supported.
look at the github, he has done some amazing work (same as radioactive)
What do you guys think of the best Kernel for our Oneplus 6?
For me it seems like the Flash Kernel works the best but i would like to hear your opinions
Edit:
I listed my Stuff in an Excel Spreadsheet, currently running Radioactive.
Obviously each kernel is unique in its blood sweat and tears. Just try them all and leave em on for a few weeks. Usually the older toolchains have better battery and more stability in my testing. The benefit of certain kernels are exculsive CPU scaling governors modded by the developer. Currently running pappschlumpf's Smurfkernel with smurfutil battery profile spectrum on havoc nightly. I look for stability though and for stock OOS all kernels run pretty solid. One thing you need to be sure is that the kernel manager is locking frequencies otherwise I find a kernel that allows this. Lately I've had some trouble on blu kernel

Ive tested Stock, Elemental X, Franco and Flash Kernel in Idle Drain per Hour and Antutu Score
and Flash got almost as much as Stock in Antutu while only using 2.9% per hour
100% radioactive kernel
