Running 5.1.11 and stock recovery but rooted using Magisk.
When I check for new updates, it tells me since I am rooted it have to download the complete ROM (Pie).
Any reasons not to upgrade this way? After the update I will be on Pie and will have lost root but everything else will work as it should?

I am currently on MM rooted with TWRP installed. Can anybody point me to instructions on how to install the latest update without activating the kill switch and keeping root/TWRP?
Thanks
Hello: I am a newbie with a 6045I. I originally rooted my IDOL 3 under 5.0.2 using guides I found here XDA. I disabled the root in order to update to 6.0.1. Now that I have 6.0.1, how do I get root again?
Did you install the stock 6.01 update? If not, you could install TWRP and flash supersu from TWRP.
I installed the OTA version. I assume that is the stock version.

Hello,
So my Oneplus 6 was rooted on Android 8.1 for a while now. Recently i got the update for Android 9 and did the official OTA Update to 9. Now my root seems gone or at least it doesn't work anymore.
Now I actually want to remove the root completly because I want to use my banking app, which won't work on rooted phones.
How do I remove the leftovers of this root? I had Magisk + TWRP on it. TWRP shouldn't affect any apps right? Would it be enough to just relock the bootloader? Cause root seems gone already there is no need to uninstall it right?
Thank you for your help.

you need to flash boot.img and system.img from the start. You can dump them from the OTA you have installed.

Just flash full ROM zip file in TWRP. Data will stay in tact, stock boot img and stock recovery.
I am on global rom and got an ota update.
Can I update without issues? Or will magisk or twrp cause problems?
Do I have to remove twrp and root before I update or is there any other way?
Hello Guys, i have a qq.
My X3 NFC is rooted with magisk, and have TWRP recovery, the thing is I am not sure if I should run or not the stock ROM updates, I am currently 12.0.4, and there is an update to 12.0.8, will updating to this version mess my root or TWRP, should I go for it or refrain from running the update?
I actually tried running it few days back, and the update reboots the phone to TWRP, so it doesnt really updates anything, if I were to upgrade it what should the right process be?
