Hello Guys, i have a qq.
My X3 NFC is rooted with magisk, and have TWRP recovery, the thing is I am not sure if I should run or not the stock ROM updates, I am currently 12.0.4, and there is an update to 12.0.8, will updating to this version mess my root or TWRP, should I go for it or refrain from running the update?
I actually tried running it few days back, and the update reboots the phone to TWRP, so it doesnt really updates anything, if I were to upgrade it what should the right process be?

Hi,
I unlocked My bootloader successfully and installed twrp. Everythings fine so far.
Now I saw a thread mentioning a rollback to stock 6.0.0 is neccessary before installing cm13 because of the baseband. Do I still have to do that?
I also read about supersu. Do I have to install it before cm? In a rooted device? I thought supersu is for rooting the device?
And finally I thought cm13 is stable for My A9 but there are only nightly builds. Recommended for daily use?
Sry for all those noob questions, but I already read around for hours, without coming to a solution. Although flashing cm to My S5 Mini was alot easier.
I appreciate any help with that stuff.
?
Btw. I saw the supersu Thread and I found instructions on how to root the device.
The Instruction says I have to install supersu to root the device. In the supersu thread they say my device has to be rooted to install supersu.
Confusion is complete
On all devices I've had, never had to root (SuperSU) to install CyanogenMod. Just unlock bootloader and install twrp.
The SuperSU thread is wrong, I read the same thing when I had a nexus 5. I think it means just bootloader needs to be unlocked.
Only time I used SuperSU was if I was on stock rom. CM13 has root built in. Enable it in developer options.
As far as having to downgrade to 6.0, no idea if it's still needed. It's one of the reasons I'm still on stock. I don't like methods needed to downgrade.
thx
Thanks for your reply.
I installed CM13 nightly successfully on my A9.
No Rollback neccessary.

Really? Your phone had latest stock update and you installed cm13, and have no issues with it? No boot loops?
I've been using cm for some days. Some apps a crashing once a while, voice recording in whatsapp doesnt work without crashing the APP. AS far as I use My phone it is fine.
I booted the phone two times since I installed cm and no bootloops.
Bought it in germany.
Edit: Don't know it was the latest stock. I left the Version that was already installed on the phone. AS far as I remember it was 6.0.1
Hello guys, i have a question. What is the proper way of flashing miui updates from twrp. Atm i am on 10.2.2.0 but a new pie udpate has been released and i want to update to it. Also, do i need a certain recovery? I am on pitchblack atm.
I just don't want to brick my phone. Thanks in advance.
You can flash with no problem.
But after flash you lose twrp (it will be stock recovery). Need it reflash.
I successfully updated to pie, but a problem emerged. I can no longer flash magisk. Flashing magisk results in a bootloop and when i uninstall it from the recovery, the phone boots normally.
Any suggestions?
Did you flash that zip "lazyflasher"? For the dm verification thing.
I have the original Android 8.0 system and software version 2.33.401.19. Two days ago, my HTC announced that there is a new update to android 9.0. It downloads it and tries to install it. After reboot, TWRP starts and I choose to restart the system. Nothing is updated, and after a while I see a message that the update file is damaged.
A few weeks ago I unlocked the bootloader, ripped the phone and installed TWRP and MagiskManager. I suspect that the unlocked bootloader causes these problems. What should I do to install this update?

not the unlocked boot loader, it's because you have twrp installed. you need stock recovery(and what ever you do don't relock your bootloader)you can get back to stock by flashing the oreo ruu, then you'll recieve the ota and it will install.you need the ruu for your phone.that's it.
this will wipe your internal, so if you have something on there you want to keep, back it up to your pc, then you can restore, also, you'll need to reinstall twrp and magisk after you install the ota.
Thanks for answer. I'm going to do this ....
Hi,
Is there a way I can just flash the stock recovery and try to OTA? Really don't want to backup 80GB and restore back.
I have mi5s plus. it had offiicial rom. Only i installed supersu , i rooted.
Yesterday i unrooted becaue i could not get official update. Yesterday i could get it. NOw it is 6.0.1 mxb48t, miui global 8.5 stable.
When i click to update, it shows miui v9.5.4.0.ngbmifd available. But it cant update.
I reboot after downloading. And it goes into recovery
By the way i have trwp custom recovery. But for first update, it was not problem. It updated.
But now it cant update. It reboots into recovery. I try to install from but cant find also zip or image.
What can i do about this?
Also i dont want to lose data because i did not get backup because i think it is offical and no lost
I am on global rom and got an ota update.
Can I update without issues? Or will magisk or twrp cause problems?
Do I have to remove twrp and root before I update or is there any other way?
