Will a bootloader upgrade from KK to L brick my device if I've already installed Mars - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got a Nexus 5 for modding in exchange of my old Moto G. Coming from the Moto G, whenever I upgrade the bootloader to an older version, will it hard brick it like my Moto G did, or did Google put in some Nexus magic that prevents that from happening?

Hi:
No problem is you have unlocked your bootloader.

Verizon Moto G and CM11

I've looked and I haven't found anything concrete yet. My Verizon Moto G is on stock 4.4.4
I would like to put CM11 on it but I have no idea how to go about doing it. Everything I'm reading says my phone's bootloader can't be unlocked, but
I've seen people in threads with my phone claiming they have it installed and running. I have no idea how to unlocked my phone's specific
bootloader or how to put CM11 on it.
Help?

You can do what ever you want to do my friend It is very easy to root and unlock the N5 and when 5.1 comes and you want to try it out, you can always flash the factory image.

First thing I'd do is unlock the bootloader. That wipes your device and might as well as get that out of the way before you load a bunch of stuff on it.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
thanks guys ...unlocked bootloader and did chainfire auto root...

Is there a way to root Moto G 5.1 Verizon Prepaid

After hours and hours of trying, I would like some help from you guys.. I already know the moto g verizon prepaid requires Sunshine to unlock bootloader (is that free now? it let me download something, but it said i had to be rooted first with temp root). I couldn't find any software to temporary root my moto g. so i read a guide on how to downgrade 5.1 to 4.4.4, but then i realized i had to have an unlocked bootloader to downgrade.
So my question:
Is there a way to root the moto g 5.1 (verizon prepaid) with and without an unlocked bootloader?
I'm not sure what to do..If there is any way whatsoever to root the moto go 5.1 verizon prepaid, can you help me get going?
i appreciate it muches, thanks guys

Restoring Bootloader 41.10 from Bootloader 41.1A Moto G XT-1045

Hi, I was searching around XDA and saw an upgrade to 5.1 for my Moto G XT-1045. I performed the upgrade but also needed to upgrade the bootloader due to screen flicker. So I did that. The upgrade worked but I just did not like the look or feel of 5.1 on my Moto G. I did a recovery with TWRP, but now I have the screen flicker on 4.4.4 due to having Bootloader 41.1a. I would like to go back to the OEM bootloader 41.10 which I have on my computer. But I keep getting a fail from fastboot. The phone will not allow me to downgrade the bootloader.
Has anyone successfully reinstalled an older bootloader? I know it is dangerous to be doing this but I feel I have the correct level of experience loading via fastboot.
If you know of a way to do this I would greatly appreciate the instructions.
Thanks in advance.
