Can I flash the stock ROM via Fastboot? - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

I would like to do a clean install by wiping the system, data and cache(except the internal storage of course). So can I do these and install the stock ROM via Fastboot? I don't wanna flash a recovery right now.

Yes, but you have to download and use this Rom:

Good luck.

[Q] CM12 Flash

I'm on 44S firmware and want to flash CM12 so I have unlocked the bootloader, installed Philz Recovery 6.59.1 and wiped cache/dalvik and install new ROM option but the recovery can't seem to find the .zip files I put on the phone?
Can someone help me please

I'd advise you to use TWRP instead of Philz
I agree, use TWRP recovery instead, it's much better.

Which version of TWRP, unofficial or bacon?
Since I've wiped cache/dalvik and install new ROM option, the .zip files should remain on my phone memory?

[Q] reverting back to kitkat help

Hi,
can someone explain to me step by step how to revert back from crippled version CM12S YNG1TAS0YL to CM11S XNPH05Q,
both version are stock and rooted.
i have nandroid backup (boot , data, system of kitkat), and latest twrp 2.8.6.0, i assume that i cant simply restore image of kitkat through nandroid.
Do i need to flash first radio and modem of 4.4 ,where to find i how to do it ?
Or first factory reset and flash signed 11s.zip and then modem, radio.....its confusing for some noob

Never done it--dunno. Peek around the OnePlus One forums a little--there are a few stickies.

Someone there said first flash the ROM, then the modem--which seems to agree with the way the instructions I first showed you were written.
Then your nandroid--which must of course be from KitKat also.

Boot into TWRP, flash firmware, flash modem, reboot back into TWRP, restore backup.
Firmware:

thank you timmaaa
no need then to flash full cm-11.0-XNPH05Q-bacon-signed-fastboot.zip , just cm-11-firmware-20141224.zip and Full-XNPH05Q-modem-flashable.zip ?
is it wiping internal storage after all recommended, cause i have some leftovers of some previous apps and etc. ?

That's right, just those two files is fine. You don't need to wipe your internal storage.

Help with fastboot!

Will flashing cos13 through fastboot also wipe my internal storage? My bootloader is already unlocked.
Thanks!
Edit: I think flashing Userdata will wipe my internal storage.
Is there any way to avoid it and still be on cos13?

And one more thing, Is there any way to flash cm12.1 based ROMs over 6.0 ROMs? Like with some firmware..without getting back to cos12.*?

Yes, first you have to wipe everything (not internal storage), then you have to flash cm12.1 stock firmware and cm12.1 based ROM. All this can be made using twrp and ROMs_signed.zip

In step 3 after flashing rom , what about reboot to recovery instead of reboot to bootloader and flash twrp again?
EDIT

Is it necessary to delete Internal? While clean flashing Nougat image the Internal is already wiped right?

Yes but it also installs the OS as well. You want a clean slate completely, if possible, so best to wipe it again before flashing a custom ROM.

May be it has to do something with files written when you boot N 1st time. Like temp files.

Its for the encryption. So if you flash custom roms it doesnt show "data is encrypted" in your first boot. Thats what i've read.
You can always try flashing without wiping internal and see.

Noobish question: Internal memory wiping is necessary? Data wiping will delete app+their data. Formatting internal only erase media like music n videos.

You can leave it if you want but im not recommending to not wipe internal.
Good day! Never failed to flash the rom in this way, the rollback to the nougat is made, the necessary recovery is loaded - an error 1. Tell me what might be the matter?
first, can i flash rom on both partion a and b ?
why after flash and rebooting to twrp again pation change to B?
why not flash magisk and gapps on same partion with first installation?

-Do not flash it on both slots.
-The reason it switches between A and B, is because the rom gets installed on the second partition and not the partition you are on when you flash it (i think).
-And you can't flash magisk or gapps because, like what i've said before, the rom gets flashed on the other slot.
Im not 100% sure that's how it works, so don't quote me.
I've flashed viperos having no issues. I had flashed nougat firmware before that. Now in order to flash another rom, do I have to flash stock nougat firmware again or is it ok that I just clean wipe and flash new rom?
