Gear 2 not showing in Odin - Samsung Gear 2

Hi
My Gear 2 does not connect to Windows or Odin. I installed an Android OS on the watch, it didn't work smoothly and I decided to revert back to the original OS.
1.) I have downloaded the latest Samsung USB Composite drivers;
2.) I have tried various cables and ports;
3.) Tried the same on other pc's.
With the one cable and only one specific USB port, I get like a 5 second connection in Odin, but as soon as I select the AP file, the connection is lost. Any help will be appreciated.

I'm trying to do the same. I guess it's too old to be recognized by anything now. Lol

[Q] Flashing via Odin problems

Trying to flash via Odin on my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 YP-G1, only problem is the device isn't recognized by Odin in download mode, only when the device is booted and on home screen does Odin com port pick up the device. I've tried everything except starting Odin on the home screen. USB Debugging is enabled, device is rooted,re-installed device drivers, tried multiple USB ports on my computer, etc... Nothing I've tried will allow Odin to see my device in download mode. I'm out of ideas, anyone have a suggestion?
Try a different version of Odin?
Sent from somewhere....if I could only remember where....
Each USB port on your computer will show as a different COM port. Go into Device Manager when the phone is connected and see which COM port the phone is on. Set Odin to use that port.

[Q] Phone not recognized on ANY computer

This is for my brother's phone...
He tried 3 different computers, downloaded the latest samsung USB drivers on all 3, tried any and all USB ports on each computer. It is not recognized at all. The phone charges and that's about it. He's even tried a few different USB cables.
He's on CM 10.2 now and needs to go back to stock to upgrade to a new phone.
I had him try flashing a stock-rooted ROM from recovery, and it will not work. I don't know what error he gets off-hand, but he says that it gets denied.
Help please!

Not sure about stock but I can give you something to try under CM 10.2.. Go into Settings -> Storage -> (Click three dot menu in upper right) -> USB Computer Connection -> Make sure Media Device (MTP) is checked.
He was able to get it back to stock with mobile odin. Now USB works. Weird.
Thanks!

USB Issue

Hello,
I've had a GT-N8013 for a few years and just recently decided to try something besides stock on it. Darn thing is, once I reset the tablet to factory settings (4.1.2) and got prepared to flash CWRecovery my PC stopped recognizing the tablet via USB. So obviously, I now can't use ODIN which kinda sucks.
The tablet lights up when I plug it in (Red X on battery icon, but that's understandable - although, it does that on the wall charger too), but the PC does not respond at all. No change in Device Manager.
Things I've tried or noted:
I have tried it on multiple machines and multiple ports
I bought and tried a new UBS cable
I bought and replaced the charging port
I have tried Kies, different drivers, etc.
Rebooting tablet/PC
With/without USB Debugging enabled
Any help would be wonderful. Thanks in advance!

Don't use Kies.
Download Samsung USB driver & install it, then may be restart your PC.
If you use MS Windows download ODIN.
If you use Mac or Linux download Heimdall instead of ODIN.
Download the ROM.
Set your GT-N8013 to Download Mode (ODIN mode).
Connect your your GT-N8013 to your PC.
READ the instruction for FLASHING A CUSTOM ROM!

Thanks. I did that but it didn't worked. Did a Fresh start on pc and then was all ok. Just wanted to install Pie 9.0 . Find it much better than Oreo. Very important is to do hard reset after any flash. But keeping my Honor Play as main phone.

How the hell you guys are able to use Odin?

So ok, Odin is the only way to go. Everything you have to flash/upgrade, you do it by Odin. Ok...
But, Odin's compatibility? WTF !
I have a notebook with 3 USB ports. All of them are 3.0 USB. None of these ports works with Odin (apparently Odin does not support 3.0 USB ports).
Ok, no problem. My mother has an old notebook, with some 2.0 USB ports. It also doesn't work. Tested with three other notebooks and nothing...
But, my mom also has an old "All In One" computer, apparently with some 1.0 and 2.0 USB ports. This is the only computer that I have access that works with Odin.
So here I am, having to keep a huge box in my bedroom, with an old computer, in case I ever need to use Odin...
So tell me, is this normal? Are you guys able to use Odin with 3.0 USB ports? I want to get rid of this huge box and be able to use Odin freely, in any computer.

Yes, I am using Odin on my notebook with USB3 ports.
Use latest version of Odin and make sure to have installed the correct drivers for your device ... e.g. Samsung device drivers in my case.
Best to check this guide to get started flashing with Odin: https://www.xda-developers.com/update-firmware-any-samsung-phone/

Odin only works on Samsung devices
Ok guys, I do know Odin only works on samsung devices. I have a Galaxy S9 (Snapdragon). And I've also studied a lot about Odin, and I'm using the correct version and also I've installed the correct drivers. I'm also using the official samsung cable.
But whenever I flash something, I get stuck in "SetupConnection...", with the error "Can't open the serial (COM) port."
The only computer that this error does not occur is in this old computer that I have...
I have searched a lot for an answer, but I don't know what I else to do...
