We already aware of the issues. Based on the investigation we have identified two different known issues with the opensubtitles.org servers.
Due to the recent changes in the Opensubtitles.org servers, some devices fail to establish the secure connection to the servers. As a result, some devices may fail to get the subtitles. Apart from that Opensubtitles.org has blacklisted several IPs to the ReCaptcha mode for their abnormal activity. So, the servers refuse to connect for some. Until or unless you can provide the bug report, it will be very difficult to understand the issues. Kindly collect a bug report from MX Player help menu immediately after noticing the issues and share with us. It will help us to understand your issues better.
no internet connection with mx player subtitles
I am having the same issue. I use a vpn when streaming as well. I have disconnected the vpn and am running through my comcast ip with the same result. Any ideas?

We regret the inconveniences caused. Opensubtitles.org's API servers are down for maintenance since yesterday evening. Kindly try again after some time. Everything will work again once their services are restored.

I'm not sure how to load the beta build in MX Player. I did resolve the issue however by clearing all the caches in the subtitles section of the player and resetting to factory settings. Hope this helps others.

Can you specify from which version it has started..?
MX Player's previous versions can be found here.
https://sites.google.com/site/mxvpen/download/previous-version
You can manually install & check form where It's broken. It will be helpful to fix the issue.
Hi I have the same problem. It's in Android, and I'm trying to install previous versions but it gives me an error.
Thanks.

You can't install previous version over new version. You have uninstall the new version before installing the old one

same here !!! definitly need a fix for the dropdown list
i can t choose display and help in menu with mouse.
very very annoying for display...
It s a damn bug to fix quickly
i've tried back to .15
the only workaround is if you use airmouse with navigation buttons ,once menu opened with mouse pointer,
it's possible to go over menu and extend the sub menus .

Kindly try old versions from our site & report us from where the issue has started?
Based on the report we will investigate.
As we can't reproduce the issue, without your help it's very difficult to get it fixed.

i think easier put would be.
it is impossible to select and navigate in the OSD when a video is playing with a mouse.
once you click the 3 dot menu, it will disappear as soon as you move your mouse.
the only way to change any settings during a video is playing is using 4 direction navigation button with select key.
i'll try checking when it started if i can find some time.
I have same problem from december when i switch to new android tv box. I use h96pro+ android tv box and airmouse rii i25A (but problem is with regular mouse too). Before this i used imito MX1 with same mouse (not airmouse) and i didn't have this problem. On phone and tablet works fine but on tv box can't use menu. When i open app menu disappears after 2-3s but from video it is so fast i can't open anything.

This error can be replicated on the Note 8 consistently (8.0.0 Oreo, Verizon) on the most-up-to-date version. I have just sent in an error report.

It seems to be caused by the accessibility services on the device. Can you please disable the talkback (if it is enabled) and check again? We have already fixed this internally and a new build is being tested by our private testers. Hopefully, it will be rolled out to everyone in the near future.
Thanks for your quick reply.
Unfortunately, didn't help. It was off already, switched it on and then off again - still nothing.

I got it solved. With you mentioning accessibility settings, I switched off all the toggles and then it worked. One by one I switched them back on until I found the culprit - bxActions (Bixby button remapper). Does not work well with MX Player when its accessibility toggle is on.

Thanks for the info.
We will make an explicit exception for the accessibility features on the opensubtitles.org login fields in the future versions to prevent such crashes.
Was this ever done? I'm getting the exact same crash unless I disable bxActions on my Note 10.

It may also happen when there are too much of subtitle requests from the same IP. In subtitle search dialogue, tap on opensubtitle.org. Enter your username & password if you have any. Or You may register by using the register button.
If it's not working even after using your own logins, kindly let us know.
Maybe the issue is with the max player, try installing the lateest version of it, before doing so, Flush cookies, caches and then uninstall-install it. I hope It will work.
Problem
I think the problem is from opensubtitle web page.

How can we reproduce the issue? From where you are opening the files?
It will be great if you can provide more info about the issue.
Yeah, its only an issue on my Samsung Tablet. works fine on Phone. Well its in quite many Apps, especially when accessing network files, only the non pro version appears to select in the list of available players. Pro wont show up.
never mind found it. had to Check the http https Option ?

Glad to know that.
Technically, both MX Player & Pro shares the same codes except the ad modules & license verification modules. So, It's less likely to be happen until or unless you are using a different versions of free & pro variants. If you can provide more information, it may help us to provide a better solution.
