Guys.. My youtube does not work normally. I can't play videos.. (it takes 2 minutes and ends up not even playing the video) it just won't. I've downloaded a cab someoneposted that would supposedly change my 3G speed to max and It still does not work. What should be done? should i re-install a rom? thanks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=135184&d=1228539093 (Download Link) It's a .cab
All Thanks to IRUS. Thank you very much
I read somewhere that if you open an internet connection, PIE, and minimize it and try to use youtube, it will eventually run. Try that. It was somewhere here on this forum. Next time, use search function.

thanks alot, but i've tried that before and it doesn't work.. it just goes "connecting" for a long period of time and my problem seems to be completely different from everyone elses in the previous youtube threads. i mean what is there left to do?
have you tried isolating the problem? Is it your connection, or youtube itself? Can you connect through wifi?

yep i've done it and thats why it kinda worries me. youtube doesn't even work through wifi.. it's obviously a connection problem
and through my normal 3G connection.. videos pop up quick when i search for them, it's the playing them part.. it seems like it idles for 3 minutes and ends up not playing it
well if they are showing up, but just not playing, more then likely its a issue with a registry setting. If it were the connection, you wouldnt be able to search and see the videos to choose. Do you have a reg edit prog?
EDIT: it may be specific to a youtube regedit, or it maybe be a more broader reg entry, does every other aspect of your prog/connections function as expected?

every thing on the application works as expected except for the youtube videos themselves (they wont play.. all i get is connecting.. and then an error at the end). i can edit the registry.. but what needs to be editted?
Here are a few I jotted down from my registry. These probably arent set for optimal performance, but they work for me. Make sure to backup your registry or make a note before you change any settings, in case you need to change them back. All of these values are DWORD vals, so if anything is missing create accordingly. This is one of the folders with youtube values that I found, there were a few more, but this was what i could copy down quickest on notepad. Keep in mind, not all of these settings have a relation to the connection. I just included them so you could check for congruence with yours. By the same token, the FilePath and Proxy Name were left out, because Filepath contained unreadable characters, and Proxyname was empty.

anyone have any other ideas? should i change my rom?
Hey I actually have the same issue. I'm currently using ROMeOS² v1.40.1 19974.1.2.8|STABLE.
What I get is, searching for Youtube videos comes up quick. But when I hit to play one it just says "Connecting" for a long while. Then eventually says "Error Connection failed." With an ok button to press.
I also noticed that this happens to videos that usually exceed more than 2 minutes in length. For shorter videos the play time is ok. I just assumed this was normal for everyone and how the technology worked lol.

ah the only videos i've been able to play is in the seconds -.-. anything over a minute wont play. im sure its just some setting issue.. like a number needs to be changed somewhere
I am having the same problem, im wondering if it has something todo with buffering a certein % of the video before playing. Also i tried under wifi and it nothing would work including searching for videos but under everything works just not playing the video. I will look into this and report back

ok so i messed around with the defaultbuffertime and the other buffer and no luck but what i did notice is that for the proxyname that you said was empty is not empty for the fuze or at least not on my fuze. The filepath is "wireless.cingular.com:80" and when i deleted it and launched youtube then closed it and rechecked it came back so my guess is that it is hardcoded into the app which means we need a different version of the youtube app. this is just a guess
ok sooooo hear is the answer, i lowered the buffer and it made no difference until i replaced the youtube.exe and the vofltpd.dll and vomp4fr.dll not sure if the dll files really need to be repalced as i think its the youtube.exe that is the problem but once i replaced those files and open it i launched a 7min clip and it started playing in under 10sec but since the buffer was set at 1 which i think is 1sec i had to pause and wait for it to buffer but it came up right away. so i will make a cab and test to make sure and i will not change the buffer settings to see if it works give me about 10 mins then i will post cab. i just want to make sure it will overwrite
work like a charm i clicked on a 7:33 sec video and i started playing in less than 15 sec please report back to let me know if this is working for everyone else. this fix should only be for fuze owners or who are having the same problem
@ACMilan07 please attached this in first post and change title to fixed once others and yourself have confirmed that it is fixed

Hey irus, thanks for looking into the issue. I downloaded your .cab file but when I went to install it gives me the following error message:

Is there something I did wrong? Thanks again!

"Share files over wifi" (ShareBox) it's a new free tool app aimed to easily share files over wifi through web browser
When using ShareBox, you will not have anymore let friends and relatives take your device to show them your photos or videos. They will see them through their own device, be it android, iphone, windows, blackberry or linux, through their web browsers. And they will only see what you want to show in a quick, comfortable way and simultaneously!
As other devices begin to connect you will immediately know what they are watching through the informative Sharebox log list.
Get it at Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.b6dev.sharebox
Features that makes this app special:
Share the files through browser, so you can get them from any device that has a web browser be it android, iphone, ipad, windows, blackberry or linux.
Only shares and shows the files previously selected.
May be used with wifi networks, own wifi hotspot and also on phone 3g connections.
When ShareBox server is on, you are presented with a URL link to see what others are going to see.
As other devices begin to connect you will know what they are watching through the log list.
Very useful for photo shows as it presented by default as gallery, but also has a list mode that may be more suitable for other kind of files.
Go and try it!
Anyone to provide feedback or suggestions for this application, please?
Came here cause I saw the app in the XDA portal, seems simple enough and ultra handy for the people who really struggle to send files. :good:
I also saw this on the XDA portal. Looks like a great idea; I have to try it out.
A few questions:
1) How do you connect over data (e.g. 3g)?
EDIT: I see the server status page has a WAN IP as well. Do we need to do any port forwarding or anything like that?
2) Can you download the files as well, or just view them?
3) Is there a way to add whole folders?
Hmm I like the concept !
(Not yet tried app - wishing you had a direct download link to fileshare service along with G-Store link)
Here's what I would like to be able to do and hoping your app can handle it.
Share a folder, then view / download those files through the browser.
Guessing http //device.ip/share

Portforwarding is common for any server, u might need to do it if connect to a router
I think u can start the server on mobile network directly
Sorry for my bad English...
Sent from my HTC Desire 200 using XDA Premium 4 Mobile app
Yeah I managed to download the app, with VPN & G'Play..
Nope, I cant add a whole folder.
Every-time I attempt to look at settings *CRASH*
I added a screenshot to share, it shows in PC browser as link, but wont download /open
Looking at path tells me why
http 192.168.1.133:4321/shbx_uri/ictures/Screenshots/Screenshot_2014-10-27-14-17-01.png
'ictures' ? Really
I would rather use port 80 or 8080..
hence why I 'try' open settings, after tapping settings, about 6 seconds later. *CRASH*
The app works perfectly on my Oneplus One, it does exaclty what it says and it saved me from a lot of trouble.
Thanks!
Nice idea and works.
maybe add themes for the Web interface.
let me know if u need any help with that.

The connection is made through ip sockets, so you may connect not only through wifi but also through all ip addresses your mobile may has, at the time you turn on your ShareBox

Yes of course! If you do it from your mobile web browser keep your finger pressed over the target file till the contextual menu shows up. If done through computer browser use your secondary mouse button. Easy!

Adding whole folders may be done through workarounds (using third party file managers or file compression) but is not yet "officially" supported

Yes, you may change the port used through settings menu, but restriction to use ports below 1024 is keeped. As stated before, please report your crashes with as much information as possible.

Yes, I did via G android.
I will sit down later and give you more information
But, dinner comes first
Summary
Samsung Tab 3 10" - Tap Settings - a delay, screen stay same - then after 6 seconds, maybe bit longer, app closes with msg box (every time)
Would it be possible to enable nfc "sharing"?
For example, if I have sharebox opened and running on a certain ip and port, and I tap another nfc device, then the other device's default browser would open up, already displaying the sharebox url.
Kinda like I can share a web url or maps location via android beam, but this time the beam wouldnt be between two identical apps, but between sharebox and the default browser of the other device.
Cheers!

At first sight it seems that it should be possible if both devices were running ShareBox app with this feature implemented. Will have to study...

Hey no problem, I'll just update again..
I dont mind reporting bugs..
What I really need though, would be an app which can share a folder.
(Not just an interface that lets me share all the files in the folder quickly)
Something which shares 'that folder' live..
So if folder contents update 'live', refreshing the page will reflect the changes, much like a web-server would
If I try to add a cloud pic (I click add file, select stock kitkat gallery, click on a picasa / g+ image) the app force closes.
Can cloud pics be added? I dont think that nowadays people keep more than a few recently took photos on their device, both for memory and sync / backup reasons...

How do you expect anyone here to do anything about it. XDA is not and does not associate with needrom, it is not even allowed to post links here from needrom. That's something you'll have to take up with them. Try using a different PC or device to register there then contact them about the issue.
I DO NOT PROVIDE HELP IN PM, KEEP IT IN THE THREADS WHERE EVERYONE CAN SHARE
To help others, if they pick up this thread, I have found that if you register on needrom using Microsoft Edge, whilst it appears to complete, you do not get the email enabling your account. If you use another browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox etc) it works fine.
I cannot explain why.

We already aware of the issues. Based on the investigation we have identified two different known issues with the opensubtitles.org servers.
Due to the recent changes in the Opensubtitles.org servers, some devices fail to establish the secure connection to the servers. As a result, some devices may fail to get the subtitles. Apart from that Opensubtitles.org has blacklisted several IPs to the ReCaptcha mode for their abnormal activity. So, the servers refuse to connect for some. Until or unless you can provide the bug report, it will be very difficult to understand the issues. Kindly collect a bug report from MX Player help menu immediately after noticing the issues and share with us. It will help us to understand your issues better.

I'm not sure how to load the beta build in MX Player. I did resolve the issue however by clearing all the caches in the subtitles section of the player and resetting to factory settings. Hope this helps others.
