So as of recently, an irritating bug has popped up with texting. What happens is when I send a text, it'll sit at "Sending" for 2-3 minutes and then I have a notification stating "Messages has been detected using SMS" or something to that effect. I'm using Google Messages. Has anyone been having this issue? Creeped up in the last couple weeks. Phone is 100% stock, no rooting etc.

hello...
i got a problem with reveiving shortmessages. Sometimes when i should get a message, the screenlight goes on as usual, but then nothing more happens. No Sound, no indicator that a message has been received. Of course there is also no message in the inbox...
this only happens with 10 out of 100 messages, but nonetheless its very anoying to me...
Is this a softwarebug, a a hardwarebug or a problem from "3"....
Any Ideas?
greetings P.
Do you have the Aussie version of the "3" firmware? I thought it was just my phone. I'm with T-Mobile US and having the same problem. Every once in a while I'll see the screen light up but no sound and no notification. Sometimes I'll eventually get a text about 30 seconds letter and sometimes nothing comes through.
so this problem isn't really that big of a deal, but i would still like to know how i can fix it. when i receive text messages, the time that it said i received it at is 4 hours earlier. ie if i get a text message at 10:00, it shows that i got it at 6:00. so my threaded text messages show me having convos with people who are 4 hours in the past O.O haha
any ideas would be appreciated thanks
Are you using SmileySMS? This program caused my texts to do the same thing you described, as well as a few other bugs. I ended up uninstalling it because of the glitches.
I'm wondering if anyone else is missing notifications for calls, texts and emails. People will text me and I won't get an audible notification or an led blink. Same thing for calls. It doesn't do that all the time but over the past few days I've missed calls and text messages for hours because of this. I am running the stock OS rooted.
Thanks for any replies.
So nobody has issues with notifications not working but me?
Yes, I have the same issue. Seems to happen if I don't go back to the home screen before a screen timeout. If I let the screen time out within messages and then get a text from some one I already have a message from I won't get a notification.
Using Sense-o-maniac latest version with bricked 1.5 kernel.
No big issues on stock rom on my phone, but sometimes when I get two messages from two different people at the same time it goes a little mental and only gives a notification for the other txt. Then, later I discover I had received two instead of one messages.
i use textfree and the notifications come 20 minutes after the text is sent. I checked the times of the text and they are consistently 20-25 minutes away from the notifications. Would this be due to bad wifi? I wasn't having a problem before i switched to a custom rom or after i switched to a custom rom. The notifications would appear right when the text was sent. (running SenSay rom) Everything was fine, but then textfree started acting up.
I've been noticing this also
Hmmm... My guess would be in the applications settings it refreshs in the background every so often and you should be able to change it to immediately.
That's odd. Mine come in 2 secs before the SMS! I haven't changed any settings.
So I've been experiencing this randomly but now its getting worse. It happens about 2-3 times a day. I'll be texting one person or a few and I'll notice texts come in, I'll open up hangouts, click on the unread thread and when I try to type to reply It either doesn't type or I'll type and hit send and it seems like it sent but I see no feedback on screen, the other person doesn't see anything, etc.
Today I've noticed phone hitting 15-45% during this time. I've tried force stopping hangouts in the past. That hasnt fixed it. Today I force stopped phones and hangout. It stopped the weird CPU usage on phone but still texts weren't receiving or sending.
Of course to fix this I reboot. I rebooted and all my texts from the last few minutes came in. I'm hoping someone has experienced this or has an idea what it could be or what I can do to narrow down the cause
Thanks,
Sikh
