There aren't any guides because all android devices are different, they are all partitioned differently and they all have their own files that others don't have, plus, where things are located on "this" device, may not be where it is located on "that" device.
There are no guides, there is only learning the specific device that YOU have, how YOUR specific device's partitions are structured and where the important things are stored on YOUR device.

Central Download Hub for Ace II -Please vote

Hey folks,
What do youthink of making a central download hub for our Ace 2?
For now our Ace II comunity has a lot of different Roms, Kernels (thanks to the developpers :good: ) and other things. Each developper is hosting his builds on different sites, so that it is a little bit difficult to be always up to date and to find the actual download-site.
So for now we got the idea of using a central server, where all builds and files are going to be hosted.
The advantages would be:
-a completely lightweight and add free (not like devhost) download site
-we only have to have one internet adress in our mind to acess all our files.
-easy managed file system
Also we thought of using an adapted verson of zwliews Kernel-app (do you still remember it?), so that all people would have a ace 2 download app-hub on our phone.
The advantages would be:
-notifications when there is something new
-even more easier to download all new things.
So if you would like to have one of those things or both please vote for it.
If there is enough interest we could make this and @zwliew will be willing to sit behind his PC and adapt his app for the new purposes.
For all people who alrady wants to take a look to the possible new server: xda.mister-freeze.eu. For now there are already some files, but unfortunately there are not all really actual. For THW moments only the builds from ace2nutzer are actual. So you can download them already from there.
So from now on you can go to xda.mister-freeze.eu to download your codina and codinap files
Thats a damn fine idea but will there be tutorials how to install and changelogs?

Will do.
How is this going on so far?
If it's domain and server that is needed, I actually have access to create a subdomain and could host several files if it's preferred.

Sorry, since the school period is nearing, I'm getting increasingly busy. If anyone can tell me:
1. What the file server domain is.
2. Who the people hosting their downloads there are.
I'll get started when I can.

I don't really understand what you mean [emoji4]
Can you try to re-explain it please?
Welp, time to start the app. Expect something tomorrow. Of course, the way I'm doing it, I need the developers on the server to adjust something regarding their release naming and stuff.
What should the app be called?
Anything new here?
That would be really cool. Thanks for your work!

[Completed] Possibly Softbricked Zenfone 2 after CyanogenMod 12.1 install

Hello everyone! I have an issue with my Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML).
I flashed CyanogenMod 12.1 and everything was working fine. That is, until I decided I wanted to go back to stock ROM. That's when everything went wrong.
1) I went into recovery mode (using Power + Volume UP).
2) I wiped cache partition (probably my first mistake)
3) I restored to factory settings (possibly my second mistake)
4) After this I tried to flash the "recovery1.img" of the stock ROM I had.
5 ) That didn't work so I tried using ADB to flash different ".zip" files (all firmware downloaded from Asus website)
When that didn't work either, I abandoned and rebooted the phone. But it doesn't boot anymore.
It is stuck on the Asus screen and nothing happens.
Does anyone know if and how I can get out of this situation?
I must insist on the fact that I am only a novice. Until now I've only ever known iOS and have no knowledge whatsoever of how Android works.
I really hope someone can help me!
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
If you can find your stock firmware you can use fastboot to restore the firmware via Asus flash tool.
I don't know the specifics of your device.
Try posting your question in the forum linked below.

If that doesn't help then try posting your question in the forum linked below.

Hi, thank you for answering.
I downloaded the Flash Tool but it only supports <.RAW> files. I can't find the proper files though, the only ones I can find are for ZF4/5/6... Any ideas on where I could find them ?
I'll post my question on both links you indicated, thank you.

Try this link, go down to where it says "please select OS", click that and then select "android", then scroll down the list until you find the firmware you are supposed to have.

I downloaded the appropriate zip file but flashtool only allows raw format. I found older version of firmware in raw format but couldn't get the flashtool to do anything with it. Waited 15 minutes for something to happen but nothing. Do you know of any way to convert zip format to raw ?

Try extracting the .zip, it could be a .RAW file that has been compressed for download, if it is then just unzipping the file should give you the .RAW you need.

Unfortunately the .zip file contains lots of differents files and folders...
By order of appearance :
- META-INF
- recovery
- system
- boot.img
- droidboot.img
- file_contexts.file
- ifwi.zip
- sl_vmm.bin

I'm sorry, I just don't know enough about your device, please post your question in the Android Q&A thread I linked you to, you will find more help there than I can give you, go there, post your question, be patient and if someone knows what you are looking for they will tell, it will have to be someone that knows your device, it's file types and it's tools to repair it. I have nothing else that I can give you.

ill make it easy for you.. learn the technique only for the device that you are using, as each device differs and their methods differ as well. as an example, what works for a nexus does not work on any samsung.

This forum is for issues dealing with android. Your issue is not with android, your issue is with PC and a program designed to run android. In other words, you do not have an android issue, you have a PC/program issue. You should post your issue on a forum that deals with PC or one that specifically deals with bluestacks issues.

XDA itself doesn't make it, a member here does. That means you should find the thread here for bluestacks and post there or you should send a PM to the member that created the application. Or go to the official Bluestacks website.

Yeah no. What you're asking for can theoretically be done but it will require a lot of work reverse engineering the firmware, and by a lot I really mean it. Firmware is almost never open source so you won't find the source code anywhere.
What are you trying to do specifically?
