Hi,
I have bought a Google Pixel a week ago. I'm the second owner. The power button was working fine. After a few days, it stopped working. Yesterday I accidentally power it off from the on-screen assistive app. Then my brother rebooted it through fastboot or pressing on the screen where the flex cable is connected, Don't know which one but the power button also started working. And again, overnight when I woke up next morning. The button stopped working again. So is this a software issue or a hardware? If it was a hardware issue, it shouldn't have worked then? There aren't any good repair services around so don't want to open the phone. Help?
Thanks

Hey guys, I'm having a problem with my galaxy S. The power button stopped working about a week ago, I could press it and it wouldn't respond at all. The only thing I could do is get to my homescreen by plugging in the USB. I followed a good video on youtube in disassembling my phone.
I took everything apart exactly and tried the power button, but it would not work. However when I put it back together with the battery and everything it wouldn't turn on, even with usb connected. I double checked every ribbon in the phone and reconnected them all, but nothing.
Is there anything I could do to fix this?
hey there
first, it's the wrong forum...
try this app to lock your device:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock&feature=search_result
and wake it up with the home button - this can be a solution for you until you replace the power button as it's a hardware problem
Put my sim free s6 on charge last night (wireless) as i always do and when i woke up the green led was flashing quite fast.
I went to wake the phone up using home button and nothing, nothing from powerbutton either. Tried holding down powerbutton and have also tried charging manually but still nothing. What was strange also was that i did not get any charging sound when i inserted the cable to try an charge it.
I am pretty sure its charged though...just will not turn on.
Any ideas?
No completely stock phone, very few apps on it, just over a week old.
Updated to 5.1.1 via ota a couple of days ago.
Just done a bit of a search on the Internet and says to hold all the buttons down which I've done and has now restarted and seems fine.
Does not explain what's happened though
problem solved?
Well it's working fine now but does not explain why it just died for no reason and would not do anything without rebooting with that method.
Phone was 100% charged when started up also....very strange
Got same thing happen to my S6 after updating it to 5.1.1 . Phone have random freeze problem , left it on desk then someone called and a didnt get it up so notification light blinked i wanted to check who was calling but after pressing power to wake it up it wasnt working same with home button. So i had to keep pressed Vol- and power to reset phone . I wonder is it a 5.1.1 bug ?
Hi my phone is a Samsung Galaxy s6 and I've had it about a month the it just stopped working it had no life although when I go to charge it it starts charging but if i try to turn it on it just flashes a green light on the bottom of the phone what is this please
You don't need to hold all buttons down. Hold VOLUME DOWN+POWER for a few seconds and it will do a forced reboot.
I have the same problem with my s6 edge. Tried everything, and nothing is working. Any other suggestions on how to turn on my phone?
Hi! Did you get any responses? I'm having the same problem and don't know what to do
Thanks, this helped me out. 3 buttons at the same time. I did it long, maybe needlessly.
i had my Note 8 phone working absolutely fine sitting at my desk. I picked it up and saw ~50% batt. Got into a subway after 10 minutes and tried to check the time - the phone was completely dead. Tried everything under the sun - read 2 posts before this one and then found out the solution was to hold all the 3 buttons (important to note - the down volume + bixbee + start buttons) all at the same time for almost a minute to get it started.
All this time a green led light was flashing on top right of the phone.

Hi guys,
Recently my power button has stopped working. After a short time my home button started to suck too. Did anyone had a problem like this?
my back and option buttons only stopped working
Meanwhile I resolved it.
The side button was replaced in a gsm.
The home button was resolved by me: i put a few drops of alcohol near the button, and pressed multiple times. I did this around 3 times and life came back in the button.
Just in case someone has same problems.
Hi,
I've had this Moto G3 for just over 6 months now and have had no problems with it until very recently. Basically, I was trying to add a new Google account to the phone earlier, but after entering my PIN to access the Google screen, the phone froze, and I had to force reboot. Startup took slightly longer, but then the phone switched on.
Two hours later, I picked up the phone and pressed the power button. Nothing. I pressed and held, for about 12 seconds. Nothing. I unplugged and replugged the charger. Nothing. I put the phone down and went on my laptop, and suddenly, my lockscreen appeared.
It then did the same thing later. What's happening? It can't be the charger, or the battery. I've never rooted or modified the system things on the phone, it's close to stock Marshmallow. Any help?
Have you tried a hard reset through recovery mode?

Send it to Motorola, best advice you can get.
Hello,
my power button finally died. Hard nor fast pressing didn’t work anymore, as it did before when this happend.
Then I noticed, when I plug in the power adapter while only pressing the volume down button it boots into the bootloader mode.
Selecting Start or Recovery and it shuts down.
Code:
fastboot reboot
doesn’t help either.
Because there are some files, I tried to replace the power button. But after removing the button it still does the same.
Are there some other possibilities to revive my old Nexus or just get the files?
Thanks.
I had the same issue with power button (first I just move it a little bit after taking nexus apart what helped for few months) but at last this also didn't help.
I went to unofficial mobile service and they did replace my power button and it works 4 months without problem. It cost around ~$30 so I think it was worth it cause I still have working phone. Now I use ROM which allow me to wake up phone with volume buttons just to use power button a bit less.
Had the same problem a year ago, went to unofficial service and they replaced it for about $10 and it's working like a charm since then..
