Oh ok, thanks. That's sad because Systemless Xposed can't be installed without accessing data partition and default Xposed causes a bootloop.
I think it's because the TWRP version we have for Oreo doesn't support decryption, unlike the OpenKirin version for Android N.

unlock bootloader, flash TWRP, flash SuperSU zip.
I just saw another TWRP with root function built in, I'll see whether I can download it and re-post here.

I've just flashed the TWRP, having issues with mounting data/3rdmodem.
Is this because the data partition is is f2fs format? Is it save to change it to ext4.
Currently unable to succesfully flash supersu.

I think it is because this version of TWRP is not able to mount encrypted data partition.

TWRP with Internal storage decryption on Mate 9

I tried the Honor TWRP view 10 in Mate 9 and it works. Here is the link from the thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-view-10/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3769917
Tested, decryption works, haven't tested anything else though
Did you try on Nougat or Oreo?

It's because RR is android 8.1. This recovery only works on 8.0.
will this allow OTA update to work with TWRP?

Android P Installation with TWRP

Hi, how do I install the latest android P on my oneplus 6? I have an unlocked bootloader with twrp installed but not rooted.
Download the P zip via OnePlus forums, flash it through the update section in settings and wipe the phone via recovery. It will wipe TWRP though and replace it with stock recovery.

When u say back to twrp menu you mean after reboot to recovery and then to install twrp.zip or in the same session to install twrp twice?
what are known bugs in DP3?
does snap chat work? as reports say that safety net fails

DP3 is nice, but too buggy, laggy and non user friendly, the gestures feel so much different from stable, i logged a few bugs but not suitable for a DD

Flash through ex kernel manager app
If the kernel uses "any kernel" then go to magisk and flash magisk one more time aswell, reboot.
What your saying is that you can't boot to twrp in any way? Not even with phone off and volume down? If not, reinstall twrp (I recommend blu_spark)

Exact, i can't boot twrp, phone off and volume down take a screenshot and if its shutdown, there is a simple reboot.

@Pepinow Power off your phone. Hold vol up and power, that will take you to fastboot. From there use the vol keys to show recovery at the top then boot to it. This is of course assuming you flashed the twrp zip when first installing it

TWRP issue

So I rebranded to bln-l22, installed Oreo and everything's good, but today I wanted to flash something but I discovered that for some reason I can't mount the /data and so I checked my file system and it was f2fs which is fine, so is there a fix for that ?
That's not an error man, it's because we don't have a fully working TWRP on Oreo yet. Actually there is only the TWRP that i assume you're using, the elemental rom TWRP by KingOfMezi.
At the moment, you have to flash supported files through fastboot. On an Oreo ROM/GSI, the architecture of our phone won't change, so the situation about TWRP is the same, but if I'm not wrong, at least GSIs can be rooted easily.

Shashank you know more about this stuff than I do. Is the above guide safe because I don't want to put this out there if it puts peoples personal data at risk. I believe you can still encrypt the data but this stops it from being forced encrypted while installing the ROM? Not sure. Would like your feedback if possible. Thanks.
