Hello there,
I am new to these issues regarding Samsung phones but hope you can help me out.
My friend from Australia gave me his Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, SM-G925I from Optus Australia, G925IDVU4FRD3. It has no default recording calls; I tried to add to the CSC file:
( <CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAllowed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording> ) but I am not able to do it because that file ( others.xml at the system folder ) is only read attribute and I can not change it to a readable/written one, without rooting.
I have no idea about rooting the phone and checked on internet but looks way too complicated for me, so I am trying to change the CSC without rooting, is that possible??
Tried this code using the phone dialer: *#243203855# that's to change the country sales code, but nothing happened :crying: .
Tried this another also: *#272*<IMEI># but it's not possible either .
What should I do? I just need to be able to record calls; I know I could install some apps but I would rather use the default Samsung recording calls feature.
I thought installing another firmware from another country but then not sure which country allows recording calls, plus it looks really complex to follow the instructions there :laugh:
Thank you for your help,
Regards!!

Hi everyone;
I am having trouble and had no choice but to ask for advice as i cant seem to find the solution!
I bought an HD7 off ebay UK. The phone was originally on O2 but the seller unlocked and unbranded it and sent it to me without testing its features!
Now it wont make phone calls, wont send texts, wont load IE! When i click on Phone tile, it goes back to main screen!
I dont know the original ROM details but the seller updated it to NODO update:
v7.0.7390.0 with Radio Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U
I am on 3 network! It does go online using SurfCube browser. It does send a text to a number but it wont allow me to read the ones i recieve!
He says it was working fine with him. But not working on 3 network! I also tried the Virgin sim card he left in it and it wasnt working with it either!
Could anyone help me update it to a proper firmware that would work with 3 network? I dont mind having 3UK branded rom... as long as it works, i am fine but i prefer non branded... with copy paste function if possible...
Please help...
Thanks...
I'd have a look in the device forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=783
If you don't get a fix for it then you could always dispute the transaction through PayPal...
I did look through the developer page but because i am new to this i am not sure if i can just use any rom to change the firmware! And it is rather complicated!
The question is, since i have v7.0.7390.0 with Radio Radio_5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U
can i replace it with any rom or does it have to be compatible with the current rom?
Thanks...
there was a rom posted on wmpoweruser.com
I have seen all of these before. This is what happen when someone select the wrong language in the ChevronWP7 Updater (for example English International instead of English United States).
The only way to fix this is with a ROM flash.
Hello,
New to the forum, hello and thanks to all!
I'm Running a Captivate with Cyanogen Mod 7.1
and I am seeing that the incoming caller ID number has to exactly match the phone number stored in the contact (all digits) for the contact matching to work correctly (for received calls and SMS)
I would like to limit the matching to 8 digits, like many traditional cell phones out there. The problem is that in my country in some situations I need to dial the numbers differently from what the network reports for incoming calls.
With ES File Explorer , I modified the /system/build.prop file , adding the line “ro.phone.min_match=8” but it still does not work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160343
The file was modified successfully, the change is still there, but it does not work. Maybe I have to do it differently, with the adb tool but I really don´t know how. Or maybe it will not work with Cyanogen??
Could anybody please give me some guidance on how to do this ?
Thank you very much!
Gonzalo
Ok, after some investigation of the source code:
This does not work with Cyanogen Mod. It has a completely different caller id-to contact code, so that method will not work.
Gonza
Well, does anybody know how to change that behavior?
Since the Nokia S40 days, I'm used to see caller ID matched to the 8 last digits of my contacts. And this has been a major annoyance on CM7 to me, to the point I'm nearly compiling AOSP to extract the original app...
Did anybody discovered how to solve this issue? any progress?
This is the only annoyance I have with CM7.
Thanks,
Marcelo
same for me! any solution?
Unfortunately there is no solution to this.
My brother and I , we looked at the source code, and after a couple of hours of searching we found the routines. Its easy to modify, but then you need to build everything again from scratch.
I dont know how to do that but my brother does, so he tried to do it for me but it took ages to download all the code, and the donwloads were interrrupted etc etc.
End of the story, he could not do it. It can be modified, but somebody hast to do it ...

Hi guys. I have an android japanese phone called 007SH
The thing is that it's sim locked (only way to use it is by hypersim, which would be something that goes WITH the simcard inside the phone, and provides unlock, but it has many disadvantages).
The Sim lock is located in the NAND, so the traditional method of introducing a number to unlock it won't work here. There's currently a temp-root for this phone, so one can access the system files. The thing is that I do not know anything about that, so I wanted to ask you if you can help me with this: you can tell me which file or files have the lock, so that I can send them to you, and you can modify them so that the lock no longer exists. ... I'm asking this because there IS a unlock for this phone, but it's not something you can just download: you've gotta send the phone to Russia and the unlocking service costs 150 dollars :/ . I'm writting this because not many people have this phone, but I'm in a japanese phones forum and everyone is discussing about this, so I thought it would be nice to share this to the experts (you, the XDA developers community) to ask for help.
so yeah, if you can help me I'd appreciate it ^_^
I've learned a little more and have more idea about the location of the sim-lock. Now there's currently full root for the phone, and NAND has been unlocked. I've searched through the internet and apparently the sim-lock is located in the radio folder of the NAND memory. People in a forum say that Qualcomm's NAND code is not particularly unique or difficult to understand; but I have no idea about that ... so I was wondering if I could upload the radio folder of my phone, so that someone who wants to help me can discover the sim-lock, and remove it (and then send it to me again )
please someone reply, or else I'll feel that I'm talking alone xD
007sh unlocking

Well, Android doesn't have 100% full integration with the numeric keypad. I mean, you can use it for SMS, calls and emulators in which you can set the keys, but there aren't a lot of apps which nativly uses the keypad. Anyways, it's a good phone. The bad thing is: I desperatly need the SIM-Unlock because the hypersims I have doesn't work correctly, I lose signal and can't recover so I have to "CPR" the phone (I have to remove the SIM+Hypersim, put the SIM in a normal phone, wait till it gets signal, and then put the SIM+Hypersim again in the japanese phone). The problem is that, I don't know why, but if I want to use my japanese phone, I must do that every 20 minutes: obviously that's not an option for me, and for now I'm using my old Nokia N82 till somebody finds the Sim unlock.
Hi,
i got a 007SH as well.
like to check how do you input space using the hardware keypad?
i pressed and hold #, it will input # and a space.
how can i just input space without the #?
Thanks!
Regards,
I've tried the code posted in other threads but it does nothing for me. I have the SM-R770x which appears to be some sort of demo unit. My unit on the back says it's a demo not for resale.
Anyway, last night I installed the Sm-R770 stock ROM with no issues. Samsung pay still isn't there. I know this has something to do with changing something to "XAR" but when I type the really long code into the dialer on the watch dialer but nothing happens.
Am I SOL from those with experience? I know how to run netOdin and don't need help there, I am like 90% of the way there if someone could lend me a hand. Please?
Did u figure this out ... I'm not sure but I read somewhere that the code has to be entered into some keystring app .. if not there is also like a ADB command to do it .. ( called SDB for the watch ) u can find it easily
Hello, everyone,
i would like to unlock the build-in functionality of the Call Recorder on my Samsung Galaxy S7 (DBT, 2020-03-01).
I have read that this should be possible by modifying the CSC, for example
On the Note 8 we had to edit the cscfeatures.xml with
<CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>RecordingAllowed</CscFeature_VoiceCall_ConfigRecording>
Is this also possible with the S7; if so how?
add in system\csc\other.xml the line u posted.
thanks, it works!
