Hello,
New to the forum, hello and thanks to all!
I'm Running a Captivate with Cyanogen Mod 7.1
and I am seeing that the incoming caller ID number has to exactly match the phone number stored in the contact (all digits) for the contact matching to work correctly (for received calls and SMS)
I would like to limit the matching to 8 digits, like many traditional cell phones out there. The problem is that in my country in some situations I need to dial the numbers differently from what the network reports for incoming calls.
With ES File Explorer , I modified the /system/build.prop file , adding the line “ro.phone.min_match=8” but it still does not work.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160343
The file was modified successfully, the change is still there, but it does not work. Maybe I have to do it differently, with the adb tool but I really don´t know how. Or maybe it will not work with Cyanogen??
Could anybody please give me some guidance on how to do this ?
Thank you very much!
Gonzalo
Ok, after some investigation of the source code:
This does not work with Cyanogen Mod. It has a completely different caller id-to contact code, so that method will not work.
Gonza
Well, does anybody know how to change that behavior?
Since the Nokia S40 days, I'm used to see caller ID matched to the 8 last digits of my contacts. And this has been a major annoyance on CM7 to me, to the point I'm nearly compiling AOSP to extract the original app...
Did anybody discovered how to solve this issue? any progress?
This is the only annoyance I have with CM7.
Thanks,
Marcelo
same for me! any solution?
Unfortunately there is no solution to this.
My brother and I , we looked at the source code, and after a couple of hours of searching we found the routines. Its easy to modify, but then you need to build everything again from scratch.
I dont know how to do that but my brother does, so he tried to do it for me but it took ages to download all the code, and the donwloads were interrrupted etc etc.
End of the story, he could not do it. It can be modified, but somebody hast to do it ...

I have an htc 8925 tilt, I installed icontact, BEicontact, and pocketCM. Everytime I get the same result and my contact list is not there, just a few default numbers. Can anyone help please.
I also istalled S2U2 and it works great except the caller ID comes up with the same number everytime. any fixes you might know. I have not done anything with the Rom either, cause im still learning.
dont make multiple threads.
Hi,
I am new on this portal but I read a lot in the last days and was very surprised of the solutions you find and also the apps you made working. Great
I know its not looking very good to ask as newbie for help but I hope you can help me... I am searching for more than a week for a solution and tried even to edit the registry but unfortunately I am not good enough to find the solution
So what do I want do to?
I have a HD2 (branding free) and I want to install Avaya One-X mobile.
Well the installation was succesfull and I also get it running inside my company and also the private modus. But since I have it installed I hear no ringtone. It always plays an "ding" and thats all.
So right now I always have to keep my eyes on my mobile to see if someone calls me or not.
And the second problem is that I also get no caller picture displayed..
But as soon as I deinstall the one-x everything is working (phone rings and caller picture is displayed)????
So you are my last hope to find a solution. Please can you help me?
If you need any further infos please let me know
Thanks
Frank
oh... the one-x mobile software is free for download on the avaya webiste
I can post you the link later (I am not allowed to post it right now...)
i'm getting mad with it...
Now I am a step further.. I now that the software deactivates the onboard call handler. I think it is only a registry setting to reenable it. after done the caller name+picture should be displayed and even the call-slider should be back.
Does someone have an idea where I can find the entry?
well now I know exactly the differents between the registry with one-x installed vs without. But I have no experiences in reading/interpreting my results.
Is a Dword something which can be used as name? or is it only a value?
Does someone has a guide for beginners please?
Did you contact Avaya support for assistance?
I have recently taken over all our telecoms at the office (avaya system)
Saw your post on One-x and been reading a little on it. Where did you get the install files from and did you get it working in the end?
I have a support contact with a company called central so I can contact them for free advice if needed
is this the version you are using?
http://support.avaya.com/css/appman...loads/P0438/5.2.x/C201012083328498084#summary
I'll take a look at what the installer does as I've not heard of it before but it's not letting me register to download it .
yep that's the software I am trying to download
Could not create an account either
I have emailed my support company and they will be sending the software to me on a disc.
thanks for your responses.
I installed the version for pocketpc WM6 (not the UC version) and yes it is working fine
But:
The problem I have is that since I have it installed it
- my mobile does not play a ringtone any more
- "slide to answer" and "show caller name+picture" is away
When I get the disc tomorrow ill post up the results.
This app will be very helpful if i get it working
As for the no ringtone issue I am not sure.
I would attach it... but i have no permissions...
@ fards: there are two versions. one for "Windows mobile 5"and the other one for "Windows mobile pocket pc" (here you can find it for WM6). the first is a UC versions. For this you need an internet connection and a uc-server running in your company. the other one is for normal mobile use. it calls via the phone connection the server and then your call is managed by the server.
support.avaya.com/css/appmanager/public/support/Downloads/P0483/C20090710162819340875658#files
you can find it here for free and you need no login
I do not see the HD2 listed as compatible device.
Did you get it working or still having problems?
How does the Avaya interface on the mobile phone look like?
Is it replacing the WM dialer completly or only while Avaya software is running in the background?
I have just installed it onto my HD2. The install hung at the end for about 20 mins. Reset device and the software has replaced my dialer. Appears to be working but im reading on how to configure the ini file now.
Tested on personal mode and call connected fine.
it replaces the dialer completly...
for the ini file you need the settings of your ACM. here you have to enter different extensions for each function...
you also has to to enter your mobile number in the ACM. Because your are identified via your number.
But can you test if you get a ringtone for incoming calls? thats my problem. I get no
Just to draw a conclusion to this This topic. This solution does not work correctly on HD2. Unless someone has managed to do this and has not shared?
sry... I was offline for a while... Does somesone find the solution?
No i gave up in the end..... bloody crap
I have just received my HD7, but I'm confused by a little thing with the phone numbers. When a person calls me, the number is shown as normal, but when they text me the country code is added (+47).
I't seems that if I store the number without the country code the contact is shown correctly when they call, but not when they text. And vice versa.
Anyone else had this problem? or is it "a Norwegian thing" ?
exactly the same problem here with Touch Pro 2 and wm6.1
Yup, same problem here.. I really hope they'll fix this, since I have to add two numbers to each contact (the same number with and without the country code). And yes, I'm also from Norway. Weird...
Works fine in Sweden no matter what the number is stored as (ie +46xxx, 0046xxx or just plain xxx).
By dieb2810:
Install .Net 3.5, Install Advance config, under Phone Settings set the number recognition to 8 instead of 11. That fixes it.
By InF3Rn0:
Install an Registry Editor
Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER>ControlPanel>Phone
Here is an D-Word registry called: CallIDMatch, the value on my phone was standing on "12". When you edit the value and set it to 8. All of the problems dissappear.

Note: I think 8 should be the lenght of the phone numbers without country code. contact should be saved without country code.
This worked with me

is that a computer program or phone? Since we don't have Marketplace in Norway yet
Got a mail from HTC.
Ruffly translated:
We are aware of the problem, and we are in dialog with Microsoft to find a solution to the problem.
Hopefully there will be released an update to solve this problem asap.
Yay, thanks for asking HTC, thomassan. Looking forward to their update. ^^
hi
i have a motoroi xt720, im having a problem about the dialer program. when ever i dial a number it inserts a "-" sign in between the numbers, because of that sign, i can't do a balance check on my sim because it uses this kind of command *221#
whenever i dial *221# the dialer make it like this *-221#
is there a work around for this problem.? hope anyone out there is willing to give answers to this. . .
Hi,
Wow, that's crazy. Back when I was playing with the WanHu ROM I had problems with the grouping of the numbers, so it looked funny, but it made no difference to the outbound call. (meaning whether the dialer displayed 1-866-289-6686 or 186-62896-686, the call still worked and went to the same place).
One option you could try is changing your Dialer. I'm using the HiDialer dialer (ver 1.80) which I think came from the HTC Sense ROMS. I like it because I can search for contacts by T9 dialing their names (like the MIUI rom), but I also just noticed that it doesn't do any spacing in between numbers whatsoever. So maybe it'll help you?
I used one of the two apks listed here (I believe the second one): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081817
@thejaycan, thanks for the reply man, and im sorry i forgot to update this thread, i've already found a fix for this problem. I'm using brianlee's Bravo Rom. For me, it is the best rom for those using korean xt720. I hope that other devs will help update bravo rom up to the latest android version. =[)
and by the way, thanks for the link. i thinks it's a good dialer also.
Hello, in the past weeks WP7 Mango was ported to the Toshiba TG01 device. Now the basic functions like phone and marketplace etc are working. but there are several problems to fix, like a SMS problem:
i can't send SMS when the number is saved in
+49(178)...... or
0049(178).....
format.
when it's saved in
0178....... format, it works!.
- does anybody know, what's wrong? registry etc.? i did a "connection setup" and also deleteted the number of "sms center" field, but nothing worked.
Looks like it's a known issue. I guess you'll need to hang on.
STILL buggs:
- no camera, no sensor function
- no youtube support
- no internet radio stream support
- SMS format +49171xxxxx will not send SMS, only in 0171xxxxx format ....(+49 germany ...)
Discuss the issue here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431827
yes, i know, that it's well known.
I posted it intenionally here, because maybe developers for other devices had the same problem when porting WP7 to their devices. by now, unforunately nobody in our forum had an answer. now i found out, that i couldn't even save a number in the field "SMS service center".
I would have just left WM on it.

I have exactly the same problem. Have you managed to find a solution or a workaround? Any help is welcomed.
