Hello, in the past weeks WP7 Mango was ported to the Toshiba TG01 device. Now the basic functions like phone and marketplace etc are working. but there are several problems to fix, like a SMS problem:
i can't send SMS when the number is saved in
+49(178)...... or
0049(178).....
format.
when it's saved in
0178....... format, it works!.
- does anybody know, what's wrong? registry etc.? i did a "connection setup" and also deleteted the number of "sms center" field, but nothing worked.
Looks like it's a known issue. I guess you'll need to hang on.
STILL buggs:
- no camera, no sensor function
- no youtube support
- no internet radio stream support
- SMS format +49171xxxxx will not send SMS, only in 0171xxxxx format ....(+49 germany ...)
Discuss the issue here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431827
yes, i know, that it's well known.
I posted it intenionally here, because maybe developers for other devices had the same problem when porting WP7 to their devices. by now, unforunately nobody in our forum had an answer. now i found out, that i couldn't even save a number in the field "SMS service center".
I would have just left WM on it.

I have exactly the same problem. Have you managed to find a solution or a workaround? Any help is welcomed.

After restoring a backup, the INBOX with 'SMS-inbox, 'SMS-

messages, which dont exist any more. Even "deleting" doesnt remove the false sms-list out of my MDA-II.
Anyone an idea how to resolve this problem?
Maybe a corrupt database ...
Which database is for the sms?
must be a really difficult question
I've got the exact same problem, even can NOT receive or send a new sms again.
Did you (except a Hard Reset) find a solution???
This little program use to fix the same problem on my XDA first version. Give it a try cant hurt

didnt work
see thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18179&highlight=. I had the same problem, no solution yet, except for a hard reset and manually installing all your apps again. the prog recommended in that thread does not work, it erased all my mail setings, accounts and my mms composer, could not get it back.
hey guys jsut thought i'd update this thread with some well hopefully useful info.
Just had the SMS count to 1, tried fixunread.exe it was still at 1.
then i deleted all the files except the folder (Attachments) in \windows\messaging (not exactly sure what these files are, read it on the forum to try)
the count was still 1.
I received an SMS and the count was still 1, but once i read that message it then went to no new messages
Happy Campa haha
thanks guys
fix unread count worked on Wizard with WM6

Hello again... I have another question. I'm looking for some way to automatically forward a copy of sms messages that I get to an email account so I don't have to worry about backing them up.
Is there anyone that knows of a way to do this?
Thanks...
Marc
If no one else can think of a way, I think I know how it could be programmed... but a local solution would be more convenient.
What device/OS are you using?

Nice to hear from you...
I'm on the blueangel (o2 XDAIIs)... wm2003 v1.42
It would be awesome if it was possible... even if it was a registry tweak or something.

Not free, but the best. Perfect integration with Microsoft Outlook. I use it since 6 months and no problems. Excelent.

Thanks for the reply... I have that program as well... It does in fact work pretty good... Seems the first version I had came with a few bugs like not reporting the time correctly when I would copy messages back onto my device and not transferring the body of "sent" sms message.. but I got the newest build and it seems to have sorted those issues out.
I also went on to their forum and they don't seem to be supporting the product any longer... at least that's how it seems from their lack of answers to questions people have had lately... (Since June or July I think)
I would still really like to send a copy to my gmail account for archival purposes... if anything a little macro that automatically creates a copy and puts it in my email inbox which I can send manually later...
I know it's a bit of an unorthodox request... but it sure would be nice to have it backed up in real time and on a server somewhere...
Thank you for the suggestion though... I do appreciate it.

I´ve reeinstale the program due aa disk format and they were very quickly to send me another Hey for the program ( 30 minutes by email...)
Hi,
I am new on this portal but I read a lot in the last days and was very surprised of the solutions you find and also the apps you made working. Great
I know its not looking very good to ask as newbie for help but I hope you can help me... I am searching for more than a week for a solution and tried even to edit the registry but unfortunately I am not good enough to find the solution
So what do I want do to?
I have a HD2 (branding free) and I want to install Avaya One-X mobile.
Well the installation was succesfull and I also get it running inside my company and also the private modus. But since I have it installed I hear no ringtone. It always plays an "ding" and thats all.
So right now I always have to keep my eyes on my mobile to see if someone calls me or not.
And the second problem is that I also get no caller picture displayed..
But as soon as I deinstall the one-x everything is working (phone rings and caller picture is displayed)????
So you are my last hope to find a solution. Please can you help me?
If you need any further infos please let me know
Thanks
Frank
oh... the one-x mobile software is free for download on the avaya webiste
I can post you the link later (I am not allowed to post it right now...)
i'm getting mad with it...
Now I am a step further.. I now that the software deactivates the onboard call handler. I think it is only a registry setting to reenable it. after done the caller name+picture should be displayed and even the call-slider should be back.
Does someone have an idea where I can find the entry?
well now I know exactly the differents between the registry with one-x installed vs without. But I have no experiences in reading/interpreting my results.
Is a Dword something which can be used as name? or is it only a value?
Does someone has a guide for beginners please?
Did you contact Avaya support for assistance?
I have recently taken over all our telecoms at the office (avaya system)
Saw your post on One-x and been reading a little on it. Where did you get the install files from and did you get it working in the end?
I have a support contact with a company called central so I can contact them for free advice if needed
is this the version you are using?
http://support.avaya.com/css/appman...loads/P0438/5.2.x/C201012083328498084#summary
I'll take a look at what the installer does as I've not heard of it before but it's not letting me register to download it .
yep that's the software I am trying to download
Could not create an account either
I have emailed my support company and they will be sending the software to me on a disc.
thanks for your responses.
I installed the version for pocketpc WM6 (not the UC version) and yes it is working fine
But:
The problem I have is that since I have it installed it
- my mobile does not play a ringtone any more
- "slide to answer" and "show caller name+picture" is away
When I get the disc tomorrow ill post up the results.
This app will be very helpful if i get it working
As for the no ringtone issue I am not sure.
I would attach it... but i have no permissions...
@ fards: there are two versions. one for "Windows mobile 5"and the other one for "Windows mobile pocket pc" (here you can find it for WM6). the first is a UC versions. For this you need an internet connection and a uc-server running in your company. the other one is for normal mobile use. it calls via the phone connection the server and then your call is managed by the server.
support.avaya.com/css/appmanager/public/support/Downloads/P0483/C20090710162819340875658#files
you can find it here for free and you need no login
I do not see the HD2 listed as compatible device.
Did you get it working or still having problems?
How does the Avaya interface on the mobile phone look like?
Is it replacing the WM dialer completly or only while Avaya software is running in the background?
I have just installed it onto my HD2. The install hung at the end for about 20 mins. Reset device and the software has replaced my dialer. Appears to be working but im reading on how to configure the ini file now.
Tested on personal mode and call connected fine.
it replaces the dialer completly...
for the ini file you need the settings of your ACM. here you have to enter different extensions for each function...
you also has to to enter your mobile number in the ACM. Because your are identified via your number.
But can you test if you get a ringtone for incoming calls? thats my problem. I get no
Just to draw a conclusion to this This topic. This solution does not work correctly on HD2. Unless someone has managed to do this and has not shared?
sry... I was offline for a while... Does somesone find the solution?
No i gave up in the end..... bloody crap

application call tellme, you can see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKWjPONWl_c
to be honest though i have it installed and its not that great. even speaking slowly, clearly etc it struggles, any background noise doesnt help either so its too tempremental to be a daily user. you also need msvc1.6.20771 for it to work properly.
That kind of application only works properly in Star Trek. In our century we still need to learn how do this. Even the best applications written for PC still have a fair amount of errors and still need longish training sessions.
tell me do not work on my htc hd2 original rom 1.66 ita..
i lunch the app...but nothing happenz...
MSVC gave me a message error while installation proces..
tell me application is only for USA...cause HD2 usa version comes out with microsoft voice command and somehow the tell me application overwrites the microsoft voice command and works....i dont live in usa i am from greece so i read it from the official site of tell me application and users of HD2 of outside of USA will not work the tellme app and even MSVC wich come out only for USA version....anyway i hope to make a programm like microsoft voice command and especially speak to phone and convert it easy for sms sending text..!that will be awsome!!sorry for my english....
Not an app, but a service can do it
There are two services I know of that can transcribe and send a text to your contacts. Jott, which is a subscription service, and Dial2Do, which was free the last time I checked. You call the number and follow prompts to dictate and direct your msg. Not as slick as TellMe, but then again TellMe is not as slick as TellMe was supposed to be.
i would love to see an app similar to the voice-to-text one on the nexus one.
Vlingo can do it
Works fine on my Tilt but can't get it going on the HD2 because of the re-key map problems in 6.5.#. Search for the thread.

You are incorrect. There are a couple of applications, including voice to text, for the android platform that work quite well. I've personally used them, trust me it's more than possible.

You are quite correct - I only meant that they still have some annoying errors and I would expect at least 95% accuracy from such an application. As far as I know, this is not yet the case.

Could you let us know the names of these programs, pretty please?
I use TellMe on occasion on my HD2 and it works perfectly. It will even get the message correct with profanity but censors it. There was a great application that I used for the same thing on my old treo but it only worked for palm os phones.

for Tellme for your HD2?

I've looked everywhere for the answer, but can't seem to find it.
I am having trouble copying text messages from my SIM-card to my phone memory.
Is there anyone who knows how to solve that issue? I am using an HTC Diamond with WM6.5.
Thanks a lot.

Bump for visibility.
hahahahaha I had tried this for a very long time!
Seriously it too annoying!
In the end all I could do is :
put my sim in a nokia phone
transfer messages to the phone
sent them to diamond via bt!!
Sorry for the lame solution, but there is no other way!
Asus sim manager
Asus sim manager(any version) does it
Sorry dont have .exe n other related files.

Great, but I cannot find the sim manager files, only ROMs containing it (dumping them would take a lot of time). Is there any way you could send it to me?
Thanks.

allright, here's quickmade cab of asussimmgr.
idd, there's option to copy sim msgs into device(and from device to card) there, hmm nice.
i am not sure, if it will work for HTC devices(i've added policy to cab that should allow that), but i think it should.

You can also use apps below to save the sms located on sim card & import to device.
Have done so on wm2003se wm5 wm6 wm6.1 & wm6.5 custom ROMs
i don't exactly know what you guys here are talking about...
but if its simply about copying a sms from the sim to the phone (as the title suggests) then i don't see how come no one's posted the most obvious solution i've used myself before...
just as background info to those who need to know- i'm running a com5 23569 self-cooked rom on my htc gene (p3400)
and i stumbled upon the solution to this problem you mentioned while going through one of the millions of flashes and restores we chefs go through...
all i did to copy the message onto the phone memory was open the msg to view it and then hit the left soft key to open the menu and the last option on the menu list simply reads 'copy to phone'...i tap on that and voila!! its done...
do let me know if it works coz i don't think it would be this simple and yet left untried by anyone else and requiring external apps to be installed for it to be done...

don't usually have to contend with too many messages myself...this only arises when i put my sim into a temp phone while the flashing process completes...and at worst i have 4-5 messages to contend with...
ppcpimbackup is my first pick too but i don't remember trying it out on sim messages...worth a shot though...
WOW plenty of options available! thank you guys.
