correct installation oneplus 6 Drivers - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

after bootloading (for the first time with youtube "highonandroid") after in recovery mode, my windows 10 could not detect my phone's storage.
I could not find the phone in "device manager" setting, and via control panel/printers and devices, there is a oneplus 6, where the update button is inactive.
Where can the official oneplus 6 drivers and software be downloaded, and how can it be double checked if all is installed properly?
I hope to root my phone after I am able to copy from my pc to my phone, to enable stereo speakers and always on display.
thanks in advance! B)

did you use the drop down menu on the phone and put it on 'transfer files' or something like that?

never mind, just found howto enable oneplus 6 in device manager
after connecting the phone with the windows 10 laptop, rightclick on the (not accessible) drive, and update driver.
Instantly shown in the device manager, just unbricked my phone with downloaded software on pc !:victory:

[Q] Media Manger

Hey guys so im getting the nexus 5 the thing is i want it to be my main music player but what ive noticed with my nexus 7 is that MTP does not seem to work well with windows 8 and i mean it doesn't show up as a device anywhere on the system ive tried using USB Debug and it does work but no way to transfer my music
Any Ideas thanks
I've never used Windows 8, but I couldn't get my Nexus 5 to show up at all on Windows 7.
Here's what fixed it:
1) With the phone plugged in go to device manager (Run: devmgmt.msc)
2) At the top there will probably be something along the lines of "Android device", expand this and you'll get "Android Composite ADB interface" (or something similar, can't remember exactly)
3) Double click the ADB Device, go to driver & click uninstall, when a box pops up tick the box to delete drives & press ok
4) Unplug & plug back in the Nexus 5. The drivers should install again. Now if you go to device manager the Nexus 5 will appear under Portable Devices
5) Celebrate
So i can use adb and manage my media on the same machine

Yes, once you've got the drivers re-installed correctly you can do what you want.
I think this happens when Windows uses the drivers from your old android phone for the Nexus 5. i.e. It doesn't realise you've changed phone. (although I could be wrong)
Thanks this worked for me!

[Q] windows 7 can't recognize my nexus 5

hello
i'm trying to connect my nexus 5 with to my laptop (dell xps 1340 running windows 7) and nothing shows on "my computer".
i go to the setting - storage - usb computer connection, and check the first one (MTP). unplug and plugit again and nothing shows on my computer.
so i tried to uninstall the nexus 5 on the device manager, unplun and plug, then right click and update software driver, browse computer for driver software, then i navigate to the latest google usb driver that i download from google, and when i try to install the driver it says: "windows was unable to install your nexus 5".
what should i do?

Try changing the USB connection to PTP and see if that works for you. If it doesn't, use this tool to help set up your USB connection. http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...olkit-wugs-nexus-root-toolkit-v1-8-0-t2517778 You don't have to actually root or unlock anything so the process should be pretty easy. All you need to do is click the Full Driver Installation Guide button and i will guide you through the process.

[Q] [PROBLEM] OPO ADB not available when MTP is enabled

Hello everyone,
I have a strange behavior with my OPO connected to Windows 7. Notice that I'm a computer engineer (so I have some skills (not verry advanced but good notions) and I'm pretty sure that the answer is not obvious)
I think it's strange because all the tuto available show a different behavior of mine.
My goal was to install OPO ADB driver on my Windows 7 in order to use ADB and root it.
I'm using OnePlus One toolkit 2.0 (by @manudroid19) and Bacon Root Toolkit 1.0.2 (by WugFresh)
Both explain that it's important to have MTP driver installed in order to access to OPO internal storage. Then we have to:
1/ go to Device Manager
2/ right click on the OPO which is under the Other device category
3/ select update driver software
4/ select Browse my computer for driver software
5/ select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
6/ In the list, select Android device
7/ Then select Google Inc and Android ADB Interface
etc...
My problem is at step 2. When I have MTP enabled, my OPO is not under the Other Device category but under a Mobile Device one.
SO, at step 6, I don't have Android device in my list. This list is restricted to 4 items relative to Mobile Device. So I cannot install ADB driver.
The workaround that I have choiced is to disable MTP. Then the OPO immediately switch under Other Device category on Device Manager. So ADB install is possible
BUT
When I enable MTP again, OPO switch to Mobile Device category and ADB is not available anymore.
My first reaction was to say: "not to bad, I will disable MTP when I need ADB operation and I wil enable MTP when I need to write on OPO internal storage"
BUT
Now I want to restore my TitaniumBackup save but I cannot see the Titanium Backup directory in the internal storage (where I supposed to put the backup files)
- YES I'm sure that TitaniumBackup directory exists on my internal storage, I have installed it and I can see it from the OPO browser
- NO it's not easy to put backup files on visible internal storage and try to move it to TitaniumBackup from the OPO
So, I presume that the best solution should be to find a way to install ADB driver when MTP mode is enabled. So that means, find a way to have the OPO under the Other device category when MTP is enabled (and not Mobile Device) in order to have the choice in the entire list at step 6.
If someone could help me...
Thanks a lot

Oneplus USB Drivers missing after wipe and fastboot flash

After softbrick I wiped and flashed OOS 10.3 (following https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/how-to/rom-stock-fastboot-roms-oneplus-6-t3796665, flash-all-partitions-fastboot.bat). All works fine so far but when I plug in the phone and select file transfer, I no longer see the Oneplus CD with the USB drivers (was this erased in the wipe and not reloaded?). Windows 10 still recognized the phone as A6003 using a windows driver (Microsoft from 2006, version 10.0.18362.1), but the data transfer between phone and PC is terribly slow (< 0.5MB/s) and a process "windows driver foundaton" uses lots of CPU).
Any suggestion how to restore the driver section on the phone, and/or install native Onpleus 6 drivers on Windows 10 ?
In the meantime i reinstalled 10.3 again with local upgrade (+ re-root), which solved a number of other issues (eg missing emojis). This made the Oneplus CD drive appear again, but without logo and without drivers. Presumably still something missing...
I found USB drivers on the web (https://www.getdroidtips.com/download-oneplus-usb-drivers/) and did install those, but actually nothing changed. Still have the standard microsoft drivers..
Maybe somebody could quickly check if this driver is actually the same as the one provided by oneplus: Microsoft date 21/06/2006 version 10.0.18362.1 ?
Thanks

Pixel drivers on Windows 11

Hey there people,
I can't find a solution for this one, so here I am!
I want to transfer files from my computer on Windows 11 to my original Pixel, but I can't find a way to install drivers for it:
Automatic driver install does not work
Google USB drivers aren't compatible with it according to the device manager
Google drivers from the full list of Windows drivers don't work either
The phone is detected as 4 Pixels in the device manager, as well as a disk which isn't readable and returns nothing in the disk management service of Windows.
Any tip will be really greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance to you all
BTW I tried the usual fixes: original cable, other USB port, reboot, changing the USB management setting to PTP/MTP… nothing works.
follow these instructions brother. The fix for me was to put the phone in fastboot mode before trying to install the Google drivers. You do that by issueing the command "adb.exe reboot bootloader",
