Not sure mine is on its way out to me today

I kept holding off on ordering. I was going to order this morning and it's gone.

Chances are Samsung removed it from Amazon and there are no 3rd party sellers offering it. Not sure why unless they are trying to force the Dex station, want you to have to order the pad from them, or want everyone to buy their Usb-C to HDMI cable instead.
Honestly, I don't feel the pad is worth it. If you are willing to spend that much, get a wireless charger and Usb-C to HDMI plug instead. I have the station and works great, but the cable and charger combo is better IMO.

I like the Dex pad. Active cooling. I wish it had the Ethernet port too but probably took away from the bandwidth. I bought a Logitech mouse and keyboard to set up one port for the receiver and the other for a usb thumb drive.

Well. I think I figured out part of the mystery. Samsung just knocked the price down a lot on their website. Is it on clearance already?

One day sale. $40 shipped.

USB-C to HDMI does its job for me

Anybody else get in on the Dex from Samsung's website? I think it is only $40 today.

I mentioned earlier the day before that I think I was one day sale. I don't know how or why that affected amazon sellers. Perhaps Samsung notified them but they weren't extended he sale price and took the Dex pad down for one day.

B&H has the Dex Pad Dock for $99, or you can get it and a Duo charger for free if you order a Note 9 from them. The phone is unlocked.

Best buy has them for $75

I got mine from Samsung for 75. DeX pad does work with the note 9. However, the hdmi cord that came with it didnt feel right. Sometimes it wouldn't connect to my monitor. I used another hdmi cord and it worked fine. I barely used the DeX, probably used it 1-2 times since the time I received the product.

My $40 order said it would take 7-10 days to ship out. It went out Friday so hopefully I will receive this week sometime. Looks like it could be handy for a bigger screen. I really think Samsung should try for a lapdock type of system. Motorola bombed it trying to make money for every model of phone. Are Razer or Asus's implementation any good? I think Samsung should make one with a good IPS or AMOLED screen and with a huge battery under keyboard. Maybe 12-13" and has USB3.1 and USB type-c ports. Maybe even a user installed SSD slot for a local cloud backup for desktop experience. Android is getting so good alternatives to Chromebook would be nice if designed well with good work flow. Optimize it so there input latency with a mouse is gone.
I wonder if they could make it <.5" or <1.25cm thick with 40000mah battery for a portable laptop. They could probably more a nice gimmicky folding version with their bendable P-OLED but the price would be wrong. Heck somebody should make a good universal one and maybe that will force OEMs to take notice.
Or any rumors between Android and Chrome OS on the horizon again?

Yes, however, it only works with the extended usbc adapter that I bought on Amazon. So it extends from my phone/case and fits into the dexpad just fine. Here's a pic of it with the adapter attached to the dexpad. I used the Samsung rugged case btw.

Any other dock that uses dock pins?

I think the google desktop dock is way to expensive, as i only need it as a charger and have no need for the A2DP function.
But all the cheap dock's on ebay uses the USB connection and not the dock pins, has anybody found a cheap dock that has dock pins connection?
It's much more convenient to be able to just drop the phone in a dock instead of needing to connect the phone to a dock, and be able to use the dock mode is a plus when you use it as an alarm clock.
I was wondering the same thing, is it that hard to reproduce that? I havnt seen anything besides the usb ones either and i have heard it can screw up the usb connection of n1s so didnt want to buy one of those
Exactly the same thoughts here
does anyone have specs of which pins do what? (i.e. do you apply +5 v to pin 1, ground to pin2, etc)
i've got some ideas on a homebrew dock.

Search for the thread: "Dock Pinout"
It seams that it alot harder, that there is a binary communication in one of the pins, not just a current that tells it to go into dock mode...
Doh! delete my post haha.
Just bought an original Nexus One Desktop Dock brand new from Ebay for $15.00 . The seller has 49 more available. It arrived today and it's all original with sealed packaging. Just throwing it out there if anyone is interested.

Too bad it isn't shipped for free outside the US. Shipping costs are more than half of the costs of the dock itself :silly:

brought last week http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/330770220824?item=330770220824
Dock US $15.00
Shipping US $8.46 (Germany)
Thats €18,65 (a new one costs 60€ at launch day ..)
I bought the dock when I first got the nexus one. If you guys get one for cheap and want to continue using the Nexus One, go for it. I mean the phone does slide down easly if the bump against the dock. But the lack of wear on the usb connector is well worth it.
Do you mind giving any feedback on this unit? I want to buy a separate charger cause I have a spare battery and OEM dock the previous owner bought new with the phone but I want to be able to charge the spare battery without swapping back and forth from the phone. Its a real hassle. I don't want to buy a charger that ends up cooking the battery.

Anyone else annoyed about the lack of included wireless charging?

I'd probably never use it, but to sell a $40 nickel and dime add on for something that would probably cost less than $2 in material costs on a $900 phone kind of rubs me the wrong way.
Ok. I'll move on.

I am with you... I actually considered not getting the edge and that was a big reason. I guess I'll just divert money away from holiday gifts so I can buy the additional kit. Smh
I am with you on this, Really have a hard time calling this a flagship phone with this kind of nickel and dime stuff!
On top of that they don't even make it available until who knows when.
I noticed the note 4 and the edge have similar back/batteries. I would if a note 4 qi receiver would work on the Edge?

That's what I was wondering -
I saw this (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/351204499918?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649) and thought that if the internals are the same then it might also be used - at significantly less cost than the official version.
Can anyone take a photo of the Note Edge with the back cover removed for comparison?
If no one else does, I will get a picture this afternoon when mine comes in....
Disregard my earlier request - found pics online.
Appears the short answer is no.
EDGE: http://assets.hardwarezone.com/img/2014/09/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_Edge_Rear_Removed.jpg
NOTE4: http://assets.hardwarezone.com/img/2014/10/Samsung_Galaxy_Note_4_Review_Back.jpg
eBay - Note4 receiver:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/351204499918?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
Looks like the top row of connectors are vertically oriented on the Note4 but horizontal on the Note Edge.
The "L" shape for the connectors to the side of the battery are an "L" shape for the edge and reversed for the Note4 "_|"
Furthermore, the spacing from the battery looks a little different.
Depending on the actual charging receiver maybe one could bend it around to suit but it's not something I'd be keen to do personally.
As an aside, looking at the official wireless receiver/back - is the coil just under the metal plate or does it have a larger, hidden surface area? Some Qi hacks I've seen put the coil at the bottom of the phone - which makes it look like you need to carefully position your phone on the plate for the charge to kick in. (i.e. Hanging off the side of the plate so the charger / receiver are aligned)
Maybe there'll be a low cost alternative like the Note4 receiver (eBay link) in a few weeks. Until then, I guess I'm fine with charging via MicroUSB.
Give it a few more days. There will be one soon. LoL
Found
Check this link out. Just ordered one and when it arrives I will update further. Just could not do without wireless after having it on my Note 3 for so long!

I have never seen a phone include a wireless charger before. I doubt it will be something that phones will come with, unless you cant remove the battery back.
It would just up the cost of the device more and a ton of people dont even know you can charge wiresless with a kitl

what? the Samsung wireless dock for home is $50 alone, so how can a wireless car charger that is more functional be cheaper?
it's ok to spend $800 on the phone but $80 is too much for an accessory?
there are a bunch of wireless charging car docks out there, here are 2 that are under $50. they arent samsung branded, but should function close to the same.

That's not necessarily true. Especially not for car chargers.
You end up moreso paying for the mount itself than its wireless capabilities, and as many people who've bothered trying to use a cheap mount to hold their device will tell you, you don't want a cheaply built mount holding your device while you're driving down a crappy road or going over speed bumps.
Not to mention the differences in effort required to remove the device once it has been placed. Some mounts allow one-handed operations, some require two, and some are best left alone entirely unless you can stop to interact with them.

The price of the phone is irrelevant. The dock is overpriced and doesn't provide even a decent value, the home wireless charger is overpriced too. They could have sold them both for 39.99, made a profit and sold significantly more than they will at the 80-100 price point. Either way, it's nice that there are other options for sub $50!

I've had my fair share with cheap car mounts, probably gone through 4-5 of those cheap $20 mounts in the past 2 years. so i agree on that part which was kind of my point except i'm not very good with analogies.. i would not pay $50 for the samsung home wireless pad , but i will pay $80 for the samsung car dock, because while it doesn't apply to all things, sometimes you do get what you pay for. the samsung dock just looks a lot better than other options, even if it cost $20-30 more. the last mount i had wouldn't even stick properly to the windshield when the outside temps dropped below 30F..
I bought an airdock last month. Its on backorder. My hopes were it arrives around the s6 launch. And its the same price as the Samsung one

I seriously considered the hell out of that thing because I REALLY like the design. Also no wireless mount will be able to match it in terms of speed and ease of device placement and removal as well as positioning.
I just really couldn't bring myself to trust my $1000 device on a charger without some sort of "hands" to catch it on the off chance that the grip and magnet fail and allow the device to fall.
The Tylt car charger is the one to beat for that reason alone in my book. It's also a bit cheaper than the AirDock which is nice since it looks like I'm gonna end up buying 3 cases before I decide on one to keep haha.

Ive had this dock for a while now i bought it for my galaxy note edge and i have to say its a good car holder holds tight and im yet to have it fall off the window... knock on wood haha. The charge on it like any other qi charger is slow but it holds well if you are using the maps app or streaming music.
However i just dont like things on my window so i ended up buying a vent mount from a company here in sydney that makes specific mounts to your car. The website is: www.holdmyphone.com.au
And i also bought a garmin gps ball mount for it. Its a little tight but once you get it on there and tighten the nut it doesnt move. Out of site out of mind.

Wireless charger recommendations?

I'm looking at this one, http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Compatible-Blackberry-SlimPWRcard-Qi-enabled/dp/B00DQDE1K8. I'd rather not pay $50 for the Samsung charger. Does anyone have experience with this one, or have any other recommendations?
I have this one, and really like it.
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PCAXGX6/ref=twister_B00IXZ5OCS?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Personally, I'm not a fan of single coil chargers like this one. I've always ended up spending more time than I would like trying to line the device up correctly, which seems to defeat the point of convenience. Triple coil chargers are really the way to go, but they're going to run you quite a bit more. I just picked up a Qi-infinity Folding Wireless Dock and have been quite happy with it (that is, after I plugged it into a properly sized wall plug lol) so far, but that's definitely hitting that $50 price point.

Wow, and only $10. It's a shame they didn't update it for the newer iPhones. My daughter as a newer iPhone, and it would be perfect if we both could use this. I'm going to order one anyway.
I made this thread about the Samsung charger, but there are other recommendations in it.
Also it should be kept in mind that you should be able to get 50% off the Samsung charger by registering your S6, so it'd actually be $25.

I got my Galaxy S6 on the 9th April and I purchased the standard Samsung S Charging Pad from the store too... It works great with a case on... I had a few issues with the charger as it approached 100% it kept disconnecting and reconnecting but nonetheless it's great! It takes 170 minutes to fully charge.

Looking for advice on a wirelsss charger/stand for the 11 Generation Fire HD 10 Plus...

...Anyone got experience with any equipment they would recommend?
Thanks
I bought the official Amazon one along with my Gen 11 Fire HD+ on Black Friday and it works perfectly. I would definitely recommend it. It charges from any position that you set the Tablet in, whether it's horizontal, vertical, camera up, camera down, and even charges with the offical Keyboard case I bought with it too. It was about $40 I think?
Really no reason to go with any other wireless stand to be honest.
I purchased the NANAMI Qi Certified Wireless Charging Stand for $15 on Amazon. This works GREAT with the Fire Tablet. I like that when I put it on the stand it looks just like an Echo Show. With that said, I'm guessing almost any wireless charger would work well.

And, thank you.
