Hello all,
I have the opportunity to import the 128 gb version of the HTC u12 plus cheaper than the 64gb European version.
Will I be able to use the kernels, ROMs and unlocking/rooting tools that are made for the 64gb version of the u12 plus?

Yes. There is no significant hardware difference besides the memory size. Other than that the two models are identical. Just watch out for the Dual and single SIM variants.

I live in France and the only available color here is Grey. I'd like to buy a Mocha or Black version. Do you know if these versions can be bought in Europe ?
Thanks.
See here for clarity on the three versions.

From what I have seen color seems more tied to ROM size than anything else. Silver, for instance, only seems to come with the 32 GB version that I have seen. White, Mocha, and Gold I have seen on the 64 and up ROM phones. Trick is to pick which version you want, Chinese, International, or Euro. The Euro is basically same hardware as Chinese and International version less one band and less the dual SIM slots. Difference between the Chinese and International versions is the software with most Chinese versions past a very specific firmware position g Google Play support. One last caveat, if you want more than 64 GB ROM and 4 GB RAM your only option is the Chinese version so you have to make sure to get the one with the older firmware that allows Google Play or follow the guide here to downgrade it.
Best bet, find the International version, pick ROM size, pick best available color you like - should be able to get all but maybe silver.

The international and chinese versions of MTL10 look alike in almost every way, What are the visible differences (hardware and software) between these devices?
I think they are the same phone with a different OS. The Chinese one has a different setup and apps. International version has GAPPS. As far as I know there are just two variants of the Mate 7, being the 2Gb RAM single SIM (LO9) and 3Gb RAM dual SIM (TL10).

I think it's more than just app and setup. there is likely a difference in the hardware
hi i'm still running an M8 but the U11 looks like finally the phone that will trigger me to upgrade. I'm confused about how the US versions will be getting 4GB RAM 64GB storage, while the international versions will get 6GB RAM 128GB storage.
Anyone know if it's possible to get the international version to work on US Carrier? I'm on AT&T.
Thanks
excited to see how the edge sensitivity stuff works out

Wrong information mate. All countries will get the same 4GB RAM/64GB internal configuration. Only difference are Taiwan and China were HTC will ship an 6GB RAM/128GB internal version as well. If your not running dual SIM the 64GB variant would suffice I think. But if you really want the larger storage you'd have to import it. Don't know if all US bands are present on this asian versions and if it'll run on AT&T though.

Gotcha. Well thanks for the info. I won't need dual SIM and use an SD card so I was really just interested in getting 25% more RAM if it wasn't hard to get an international version.

Not necessary to have those extra juice. Didn't make a lot in terms of performance on such a phone. Especially as long as it is driven by such an SoC and very well done software optimization.

should be fine with sd835 and 4 gb
Watch out for the dual sim variants. They don't have all the US bands.
I was kinda bummed about this too, but at least we have an SD card slot and HTC doesn't bloat the hell out of their phones with crap like "Touchwiz" so I think it wouldn't make much difference.

Wait, but there's five MIDs, two of which are dual-SIM. So how can "all countries be getting the same 4/64 config"?

Yeah I know bit MID isn't directly tied to storage options. And as far as I know EMEA and US and others are getting 4GB/64GB, while Aisa is the only region getting 6GB/128GB.

Right, I just wanted to make sure that by "the same 4/64 config" you didn't mean all 4/64 devices have the same MID )
Also, @hamdir reported ME is getting 6/128.

Can you please elaborate, or tell me where I can find out more on this? I need a dual sim device and I'm AT&T. Thanks!

You'd have to import one from China / Taiwan / Europe / Middle East or buy a gray market device on Ebay, etc.
Did anyone notice that P20 is available in 64gb storage size?
Here in Slovenia, carriers are selling 64gb version, but can't find it on official Huawei website.
Carrier sad that 64gb version has replaced 128gb in August this year, still strange, since no info about 64gb at huawei webpage or any other country
Carrier Telekom (national carrier): https://www.telekom.si/zasebni-upor...ina/telefonija/mobiteli/huawei-p20-128gb-crna (try to use google translate to view the page, it's not avaiable in english)
Offical website: https://consumer.huawei.com/en/phones/p20/specs/ only 128gb + 4gb ram specs

Here in Croatia (Croatian Telecom) is available 64 GB twilight and for short was available 128 GB black with pro camera...
Any other country that has available 64gb version?
Still does not explain why official Huawei page and all known specs pages don't say that 64gb version exists.
Hi, here in Serbia we have both models. Difference is if you buy 64gb you get dual sim version, but if you buy 128gb version you get single sim.
Yes, I'm from Slovenia and I just ordered the P20 64gb version yesterday from A1, I was searching if anyone knows if maybe the other 64gb is locked or if its just not working so they disabled it and sold it for cheaper.

In Croatian Telecom, both models are DS
Interesting, only "balkan" countries (Slovenia, Crotia, Serbia) have 64gb version avaiable. I'll pass, something does not look "ok".

We have "special version"... Huawei loves us
Did you get the phone? Are all other specs same as 128gb?
I hope this is only storage difference. Since I don't need big storage, I'll get it if all other specs are same as "official" 128gb version
Up until a few weeks ago there were only 128gb models in Romania, but as of late those 64gb ones started popping up in online stores.
I bought from a pa an iqoo7 but my iqoo7 has SD 888 12GB 256GB. All other specs of iqoo7 I read have sd 870,équivalent to the 865. Do I have a special version? Or is it a version imported and only available in China? Who has this version too? I have some questions, we might be able to solve each others problems.
Beside this it is an awfully speedy piece, beats every other phone.
