Wireless Car charger - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Accessories

Any body know of a wireless car charger that will work with note 9. Preferably with a case on it. It's to big for the one I have currently. The coils dont line up.

yes, get the iottie itap wireless fast car charger: https://www.amazon.com/iOttie-Wireless-Samsung-Enabled-Devices/dp/B06Y34XQRH
I have two and they are great!

this is currently my wireless car charger for my Note 8, a little bit expensive because you have to buy the whole car

I use a magnetic car mount, so I have a metal plate inside my case. Anyone find a wireless charger that works with that plate in there?

You'd need a metal ring so it does not interfere with the wireless charging coil. Something like https://smile.amazon.com/iOttie-Wireless-Samsung-Enabled-Devices/dp/B06Y34XQRH?sa-no-redirect=1 that was posted above.

DIY QI car mount

Last night I received my QI wireless charger and receiver for my Galaxy S4 (T-Mobile). And I decided to use this in my vehicle with the Mountek CD slot mount.
I took the QI charger apart and placed the charging magnet and board inside a sleeve that I made using heavy black paper. This is what I have made. Will post more pictures of the phone and charger in my vehicle.
Was thinking about doing the same thing. I have a similar mount in my car I could use.
Keep us posted here.

I LOVE this idea. I have the samsung case and this would be awesome
Here is a picture of the mount and the phone on the mount in my vehicle
Looks pretty cool. Good work.
I actually was thinking about making my own car charger mount a few months ago and I did try making one but a little different than yours.
What I did was that I tried to combine Qi charger and magnets so the Qi charges the phone while the phone sticks to the Qi panel with a few thin coin magnets behind it. By doing so, I wouldn't need grips or bottom foot to hold the phone. But, I failed to do so because somehow the magnets interfered the Qi coil's wireless charging signal or something. I just thought it would be easy work but it wasn't. I gave up.
induced current works off of electromagnetic fields. Maybe read up

Qi fast charger magnetic/sticky car mount

has anyone here found a car mount that has either a magnetic or sticky pad qi charger? looking for a sleek install in my car. or do i have no other choice to diy it?
I haven't tried it yet but this one has been the only one I've been able to find so far. I am currently using this Spigen magnetic mount and was able to position the metal plate at the very bottom of the phone horizontally where it will still hold the phone securely but not interfere with my Samsung fast wireless dock at home, but it would be nice to have wireless charging in the vehicle as well.
I've been considering the air dock 2.0 but it doesn't have quick charge. I read somewhere that the magnets can interfere with the spen somehow. I'll probably end up picking up a choetech fast charger and rigging it somehow.
I'm really looking for this as well..
Couldn't find a single magnetic QI car charger which supports QC 2.0 yet.
I have used the magnetic mount mentioned above from Amazon. The really cool thing about it is you do not need any extra metal or magnets for the Note 7 to stick to it (previously I had always mounted magnets under the back cover or inside a skin to hold the phone) However, what I do is have the bottom of the phone rest on top of my car stereo to keep it in place. This adds more support for the phone in addition to the magnetic mount and seems to really help keep the phone attached on bumpy roads and fast turns. Lining up the phone to charge correctly can be a bit of a challenge also. I had been making custom magnetic charging car mounts for myself with my other phones (started with the palm touchstone a few years ago) but his is so far the best stock experience I have had for a magnetic wireless charging car mount.
I have ordered a proclip for my vehicle. Waiting on that and still searching for a Qi charger thatll look and fit nice in my center console. Still debating if I wanna do magnets or sticky tape. I too have the magnetic mount. But it doesn't seem to be strong enough with a case and the metal backing interferes with the Qi charger in my room.

Wireless charging use magnets?

Does the S8+ use magnets for the wireless charging? Looking at car dock solutions, airdock looks good but without a magnet it won't work.
Wireless charging uses inductively electromagnetic coil. It's not a permanent magnet just an electromagnet. But it's probably not going to work for that.
C'mon man I think the techs been out long enough for it to be common knowledge how it works.
I mean are there separate magnets in the back to hold it to a magnetic wireless charger, like the S7 and ma y other phones have.
the scosche magnet car mount works on the s8 w/o a case. with a case it wont go through tho you'd need to metal adapter plate
If you go caseless or have a glossy case the airdock will work fine. It uses micro-suction. But if you don't have something glossy and smooth it won't work well.

[Q] Wireless Charging & Magnetic Car Holders?

Heya,
So I have ordered a Promate MagMount to have the phone attached securely on the front, I went with a magnetic holder as they seem to be much better than traditional phone holders for cars (as the clips on the sides sometimes scratch and such the sides).
My question is, does anybody have experience with using a metallic disc on their phone/case and used it with a wireless charger?
I was first thinking of attaching the metallic disc on the back of the phone itself, then thought about keeping the metallic disc between the phone and the case (without attachment) and then finally thought of just sticking it on the clear cover case itself.
As I charge the phone wirelessly with the case attached, will the metal interfere severely with the wireless charging and cause some sort of hazard or damage to the phone? Or can it work without any issues?
I use the Spigen magnetic vent mount and have the piece of metal in between my phone and the Spigen Ultra Soft case. I cannot use the wireless charger as the piece of metal interferes with the charging. If you put the piece of metal on the case and take your case off when you charge it will work fine.
By the way, what is the big advantage to wireless charging? I've used it for a few days and it doesn't seem to have any advantages. I can't even use the phone while it's charging. If you plug it in you can at least use the phone while it's charging.

Nothing super special except that it just looks cool and you can immediately pick up the phone and go, without the need to disconnect any cables.
Well, taking off the case again and again would be hectic for wireless charging...Damn would have to look for something or place the metallic sheet above the battery area and such...

Also don't forget about electromagnetic field which is used by wireless charger
Even if it will charge with this metal plate, it will heat up metal and battery.
Be careful when you use wireless charger
I enjoy my magnetic holder. It's in a perfect location and the phone attaches nicely to it. I can see it perfectly for navigation. I'll gladly give up wireless charging for it.

Wireless charging is no advantage for me either. It takes no time to plug/unplug. Mag mount is so worth it.

I have an Airdock 2.0 and while it does work, it just not work to charge at high speed. Holds the phone pretty well in my case.
You can have wireless charging and use a magnetic mount. You'll need to place the metal plate near the bottom of the device. I have mine there and have no issues with wirelessly charging.

I will try that.. thank you! I have a small round plate and a larger rectangle one.. use the small round one right?

Both work fine, the rectangle one needs to be long side down for the wireless charging to work.

I've tried that in the past. Unfortunately, this thing called gravity flips the phone upside down.

No, I'm using the Maxboost mount. Maxboost 2 pack
Hey guys, I had the same issues too, so I had to take off the case every time I wanted to get my phone wireless-charged until I happened to see a blog: No One Will Tell You These Tips on Selecting Magnetic Phone Mount (But You Can Learn Here), where shows how someone solved the metal plate problems by embedding it in a case, so the metal plate won't interfere with wireless charging anymore whilst you keep the metal plate working as always. which truly impressed me a lot, to be honest, this is the solution what I've been looking for. Hope this blog is useful for you too.
MagCase
Few months I got a Magcase from my brother for my birthday, which works well on my phone to date. as my brother told me that this case has the metallic plates embedded in so that the case can work both with the magnetic car mount and with a wireless charger without affecting the ability to charge.(not sure about it but at least this case saved me up from looking for a stuff combining wireless charging and magnetic car mount), loviiiing it
Went through this myself with a Galaxy S8 I had just for one month. Personally, I decided to opt for another mount, since I use wireless charging a lot, if the phone I have supports this. My solution was to pick a regular air vent mount and kept the phone with a Spigen case on it. No scratches at all and it keeps the phone very steady, while I can still enjoy wireless charging.
Metal heats up the phone during wireless charging...so I take the case off while wireless charging...however my s8+ motherboard conned off not sure because of magnetic car holder...any inputs if magnetic car holder can damage s8+ which also has wireless charging ability...

Very cheap foldable wireless charger.

Got this charger for £12.99 on Amazon:
mod edit - link removed
Feels cheap and looks cheap but it works and does the job well enough. It's foldable too, so you can use it either horizontal or vertical.
Worth it, if you need to buy a cheap one to leave at the office.
Would be great if wireless charger can work even with a metal piece on the back of casing for magnetic car phone holder

There are magnetic holders that claim to work without blocking the wireless charger. They use a metal piece shaped like an upside down "U" instead of a square one. Given all the warnings against mixing credit cards and metal on cases and what not with wireless charging, I'd be weary of trying it out myself on my own phone, but they do exist. Just search for wireless charging compatible magnetic mount, I'm sure some will turn out.
Could be that I'm missing something (perhaps even a crucial factor), but why couldn't you use a wireless charger at the same time you have a metal plate in your case? It can't be harmful to the phone right?
I have a strong enough carkit so I can use a relatively small circular piece of metal in my slim fit case for the Note 9, works a charm. I've tested the location in the case, so I can use this in my car and still be able to put it down on a wireless charger so it charges without a problem. Okay, so when I put my phone on the charger pad a bit to far down or up, it doesn't charge, but that's just a matter of trying which position is best and this will become a non-issue the more you use it (since you know exactly how to put it on the charging pad).
Please enlighten me whether or not it could be harmful in any way to the phone because I don't want to risk a $1250 phone for the convenience of charging wirelessly. But I haven't ran into trouble this way just yet. Been doing this also with my Galaxy S8 for over a year btw, it still works like new.
Btw, @OP, can you share a link to the charger?

I put a link to charger on the video description.
I just bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C5KCQQ4/
Fast charges a little slower than directly plugging the Samsung charger into the phone (as expected).
The hinge is a tight friction fit, so the angle is adjusted wherever you like.
