Problems With Lineage 15.1 - Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good morning to all,
I think I posted this thread in the wrong place and I'm sorry for this, so I post it here now.
I flashed my SM-P905 with Lineage 15.1 using TWRP 2.8.7.0.
I have installed the correct OS (viennaltexx) and the correct gapps (arm 8.1 super) but I was having an issue with Google Play Services that was continuously stopping and this didn't allow me to set the google account and to get access to all the play services, so I decided to retry to flash the OS and gapps, I wiped everything but the sd card, but now when I try to flash the OS it stops on "no md5 file found" (no error 7) and it goes back to the TWRP home.
Now I've installed the 14.1 Lineage OS (again wiping everything but the sd card) and it is very stable and fast and gives only 1 problem:
- the fact that I can't install the SuperSU and it causes the CM S Pen app fail to work, because lacking of root access. When I flash the file (file name "addonsu-14.1-arm-signed") everything goes well, but when I reboot the system the SuperSU app is missing. I activated the access for APP and ADB in the developer options but it still doesn't work;
This system would be completely satisfying with S Pen functions.
But I would try to install Oreo just beacause I would like to try the porting created by Alexis, with the Note 9 apps.
Can someone please help me? Thank you very much!

Try upgrading your TWRP to a newer version (3.1.1 seems to be popular version) and flash everything again. 2.8.7 is a very old version for TWRP, and might not handle the 15.1 stuff well.

Hi rhricik, thank you very much for your response.
I tryed to find the .tar file to install it with Odin, but I failed, I only find the IMG files. Do you know how to install the newer version using the IMG file and the TWRP app in Android (if it is possible ti do) or do you have a link to a .tar file?
I tryed to flash the image with the recovery, but when I go to the download folder i tap on "images" but I can't see the file. I can see it in the archive, but not in recovery mode.
Thank you again!

I found only the TWRP 3.0.2 as the latest version for Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. I converted the img file to .tar and it worked, but when I go to instal the OS it still stops on md5 file not found.
Is it safe to use a TWRP 3.2.2 for another device?
Otherwise I could try to flaash the system using Odin. Is it possible?

Hi bemanet, thank you very much! The 3.2.2 version of TWRP is successfully installed.
At least now I know what the problem is.
When I flash the system I obtain this response now:
" Skipping Digest Check: no Digest file found
Zip file is corrupt!
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/oreo/lineage-15.1-20180708-UNOFFICIAL-viennalte.zip'
Updating partition details...
... done "
So maybe there must be some problem with the file structure.
Anyway thank you very much for your help.
Regards

You may need to re-download the file. It may be corrupt....

Yes i tried but the file results unavailable, maybe for fixing. I'll try again later!
Thank you very much!
Meanwhile, do you know why I find impossible on Lineage 14.1 to install a different keyboard? I tried to install the Samsung keyboard and another different keyboard with CTRL and arrows keys (both installations went good) but both times when I went to select the keyboard It gave me only the gboard.
Plus, when I try to open the gboard settings the app crashes, so I would like to change it.
Thank you again!

Try Hacker's Keyboard from the Play Store - has all the control and arrow keys. That's been my main keyboard across 5 devices. Works well.

Follow the directions that Hacker's Keyboard gives to get it set up as your default keyboard

[SOLVED] [Q] Cyanogenmod 7 Magpie for g1/Dream

Hi
I just installed Cyanogenmod 7 Magpie for g1/Dream.
But gapps are not here, and I tried a few version and it doesn't work.
Can someone point me to the right version of gapps?
thanks
What do you need specifically?
If you need GMail, GTalk, GMap, you can download that from the market. That is what I did.
I've had the same problem, just install magpie then install google apps. restart. then you will see you don't have them so you restart again and you should at least see books in your list.
Well, this is what I did
EzGb Gapps are working with cm7 magpie. Install the latest one (top of the last quote)

ok thanks I got the file and flashed it...then I can log in to my google account and download the gapps...but it just stopped in the middle of the downloading process, I see the desktop, empty, and can do nothing .
Is there a different .zip for EB1 (french Dream)?
There are two .zip for installing CM 7 Magpie in french, should I install the one whose name contains "obex"...I don't know what is obex?
thanks
It's odex, not obex, but no, you don't need that. You need the latest version of the rom: update-cm-7-20110727-Magpie-DS-signed.zip plus gapps from terry's thread, don't worry it contains french.
I assume that you assume FR means french but no, it means Firerat, so you installed a very old version of the rom.
Btw about the market install/download fails
Buuggggss
I expect there are more than listed here
Sometimes a market install fails complaing about space
usually a second attempt works
the pm command can start a soft reboot if the file argument you give it doesn't exist
It was broken before I started messing with it, I should fix it but keep forgetting

Yes indeed I assumed FR meant French!
Ok but when I tried to install the the more recent .zip, I had the android.phone app crashing constantly, making the phone unusable.
edit: I reflashed the rom, and the gapps at the same time, it seems to work fine now.
thanks to you all
Wipe properly, from fastboot! If you use ext, than format it. Everything should be okay.
I'm running it right now, since it's released. I didn't have a single problem with it, it's a lil slow compared to fbl, but it's working ok.
I didn't know it was better to wipe from fastboot.
I wiped from recovery, I flashed the rom and gapps immediately. Then I booted to rom, and it is ok.
Cyanogenmod 7 magpie seems to work fine, but, indeed, a little slower than froyobylaszlo. How froyobylaszlo was getting unusable for me because of the "damaged sd card" error, and made me loose a lot of data (and was not in french).
Thanks to you all for your help.

cm 13 - unfortunately setup wizard has stopped

Device - OnePlus One
Problem 1 ->
Ive tried to flash latest cm13 and gapps zip file
ROM - cm-13.0-20151127-NIGHTLY-bacon.zip
Gapps - open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico-20151127.zip
I did the following:
1. Copied ROM and gapps to device
2. Installed twrp v2.8.7.0
3. Rebooted to recovery
4. Wiped system,cache,dalvik cache
5. Install -> ROM and gapps
6. Wipe cache/dalvik
7. Reboot device.
When the phone starts, i get "Android is upgrading - optimizing apps.." , and once the optimizing part completes then immediately im getting error - "Unfortunately, Google App has stopped"
If i select "ok", it pops up again.
Im unable to use my device since the error message doesnt go away.
Problem 2 -
I got tired of trying to get cm 13 and decided to revert to cm 12.1
I followed all the above mentioned steps for flashing using cm 12.1 ROM
Now the ROM and gapps are flashed but when the phone starts, it goes through the process - "Android is upgrading - optimizing apps..", once that completes the screen goes blank.
On restarting the device, again i get "Android is upgrading - optimizing apps..", and once again the screen goes blank.
Problem 3 -
This ones not that bad actually.... I followed the above steps and just flashed cm13 ROM and didnt install gapps.
Now the device boots up.
Ive downloaded and installed Play store apk.
Then i installed the latest google play services apk
Now im getting the error "Unfortunately, Google play services has stopped"
How do i proceed now??
I have no idea what to do now.
Plz Plz help.
Thanks in advance
I am going through the exact same problem on the exact same device with the exact same versions of update file and gapps zip file.
After almost trying to search any possible solution to it on google and xda, I gave up and tried to solve it myself by looking into the phone itself. There wasnt much I was able to do because of the Crash Loop saying "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped". So to rest the situation for now, I somehow went into Setting > Apps > Show System > Setup Wizard with setting logo and not the Cynogen Logo one! And Force stopped it.
Also, I cant open my home on the phone either. I press the home button and the Setup Wizard starts to crash again!
Its painful to see your beloved phone struggle to work like that! I sometimes hate CynogenMod for their nightlies and wish I could go back to the stable versions of Oxygen or CM 12!
ok so how many gapps packages have you guys downloaded and tried? Ar you tryig each time with the same gapps and rom that is giving you issues
1. Did you make Nandroid Backup of your stabe phone ?
If yes. Flash that and you'll get working phone again.
2. Gapps package you guys are installing are meant for Lollipop or Marshmellow ?

Tried More than 5 Different Gapps

Initially, I thought its just an update. So there wont be any need to install Gapps back again. But then The Play store kept crashing. So I rebooted my phone after cleaning Google Play Services and Play Store.
That didn't help. Then Found somewhere written that the issue might be caused by corrupt Gapps or incompatible Gapps, So tried installing The Gapps downloaded from OpenGapps. There I downloaded all the versions of it from , Stock to nano and pico. None of them helped. The Phone is still crashing saying The Setup Wizard has stopped. Can't open Home Screen Either. Can't open Keyboard either.

Have you tried CM12.1 again ? May be resurrection remix rom ?
Try flashing the CM12.1 rom again .. If you are able to access recovery then use can also use USB-OTG ..
Download ROM, Firmware and Opengapps of Lollipop and try ..

I've installed cm12.1 and gapps 5.1 nano.
Now the device is working properly...earlier when i was trying to flash cm12.1 (as ive described in Problrm 2) , probably i was using a wrong version of gapps/ROM (im unsure which one)
Thanks for your suggestion Abhinav.
Im going to stick with cm12.1 for a while now till cm13 is tested a bit more. Im sure that if we get a solution for cm 13 issue, many users would be benefited.
Once again, thank you for your support, ur doing a fabulous job XDA.

Found a solution!
Looks like the Gapps from Opengapps werent compatible with the 6.0 Marshmallow yet.
I spent a day looking for different gapps and tried them all on my phone.
The only gapps file which worked with CM13.120151128 update for the oneplus one was this one -->
But before installing this, In TWRP you need to Go to Wipe>Advanced Wipe And select > System, Data, Dalvik and Cache to wipe everything from your phone. Then Fresh install CM13.120151128 and Slim Zero gapps you downloaded from the above link!
All Of this, only if you want to really run your phone with Android 6.0 Marshmallow!

After a lot of trying i finally managed to solve this setup wizard error by using the following steps. Without doing any clean wipe.
you have to be very patient and try to do the steps in between the clicks on the error OK button.
Go to Settings from notification drawer. APPS-- Click on 3 dots on the right top... select system apps.
Select setup wizard, one without CM logo.
And instead of blocking notifications from it, provide it complete access in permissions. I believe it needs access to contacts and telephone
This solved the trick for me.. I have no details to how this solves the error. You may give it a try.. Good luck.

From what i had seen, this case occurs when you didn't do a proper flash along with gapps. Make sure you flash the desired rom and with it the correct gapps package at a single stretch. Then Wipe Dalvik Cache and Reboot.
So just do a dirty flash and gapps.
I am not sure why you are not able to access your phone when TWRP is on. For me I had that option, copied the new zip files when in TWRP screen and started flashing from there.

You could try what is described here ... or test with the following:
Disable the Setup Wizard form your PC with
Code:
adb shell pm disable com.google.android.setupwizard
It should display: Package com.google.android.setupwizard new state: disabled
Then you can follow the first steps of @maxpayne1989 's description. Of course you won't see the setup wizard because it is disabled. After enabling it again with
Code:
adb shell pm enable com.google.android.setupwizard
(should display Package com.google.android.setupwizard new state: enabled)
you can select it and try setting the permissions.

Problems with gapps on CM13

Hi together,

I tried the full -> Error 70
only the nano could be flashed and after reboot I got the same error: "Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped"" application crashed message
I also tried to wipe ... no changes ..

and now I can run playstore but can't download apps - I got the error: Error while fetching information from Server

There is a random popup about Google Play services which disappears on its own. I have given all permissions to the Google Play services app using the same steps as provided earlier. Still the same.
Please help.
Also in addition to this, there is a fix given by the OpenGAPPS team on GitHub as Notes for Android 6.0 (Sorry, cannot post link as this is my first post).
Can anyone help me patch this file onto my device (LG Nexus 5)?
Thanks in advance.
Maybe try different versions of gapps? I use the latest pico version and it works on the latest nightly.
I tried, micro, pico, stock.. All with same results. I was using nightly that came out on 12/02/2015.
Currently I reverted back to cm12.1 as I need to use the phone for day to day stuff. Please let me know if the latest nightly does actually fix this. And also which gapps, I will download the specified file and let you know by weekend.
Thanks for the help!
Try these gapps: http://opengapps.org
Yes I was using gapps from this site. I just need confirmation if the new cm13 nightly actually fixes the issue.
I guess it's not even with Cyanogen to fix the issue. The gapps when installed (flashed) , don't get the desired permissions to execute. It should be the a new gapps build released by opengapps. Still, I will keep searching.
PS: please look at the fix given by gapps team. I also don't know where to modify that code.
Here is how i got it to work.
1) Boot to recovery
2) Do a full wipe (Data,System,Cache,Dalvik)
3)Flash CM13
4)Do a wipe (Cache,Dalvik)
5)Flash GAPPS ( I used pico from Open Gapps)
6)Do a wipe (Cache,Dalvik)
7) Do a Factory Reset.
8) Reboot !
That should do it, Don't complain about useless wipes after trying for 2 days this finally worked !
I have my lovely G3 back
Good Luck !
I got it to work to flash it together with the ROM.
Cheers
I managed to make it work by installing CM13, in recovery mount /system and check how much space left on you system partition. After that you can choose the maximum size Gapps that fits the free space.
Wipe all excluding sdcard and USB-OTG. Install CM13 and Gapps together.
After reboot the wizard will not crash.
Other option is risky and can turn your phone into a break This is option is to resize /system to make it bigger.
I used the latest nightly CM13 for Xiaomi Mi4 and twrp-2.8.7.0-cancro

Thanks. This worked for me, although I had 2 Setup Wizard apps. The one with the CM logo had no permissions that needed assigning. The other one did. Once permissions were given, the issue went away. It was tricky to do it between the error dialogs appearing. What helped was switching to the guest account and back, then, occasionally, you had enough time to work the settings.
Had those Problems often, don't know why.
I just delete the settingwizard.apk in twrp (mount system, then system/priv-app if I remember).
Worked Several Times for me - you must do that always After flashing gapps!
My Fix....worked for me on HTC One M8
NOTE: Ensure you have a NANDROID backup BEFORE proceeding with the below, just in case something goes wrong
1. Ensure that you have all required files (CM13 Zip and Open GAPP Zip) saved to your phone (internal or SD card)
2. In my case, I used TWRP, so ensure you have the latest one
3. Boot into TWRP recovery
4. Using ‘WIPE’ option, select ‘Advance’ and choose: Data, Dalvik, Cache, System
5. Using ‘INSTALL’ option, Install CM13 via TWRP
6. DO NOT BOOT UP PHONE JUST YET
7. Perform a Cache and Dalvik wipe
8. Using ‘INSTALL’ option, Install GAPP Zip via TWRP (I used GAPP mini due to space)
9. Now you may reboot the phone.
The solved the ‘Setup not working’ issue for me and my phone is now working like a charm with CM13 and google apps! I have a HTC One M8 FYI
ThankYou So MUCH!

Missing emojis after install OxygenOS 10.3.0 fastboot rom

Since clean installing android 10.3.0 with fastboot rom (before I use fastboot -w) and reset my emojis have gone. No emojis on gboard or swift key so I presume it's a system issue? Anybody know a fix? Thanks.

I downloaded full update with oxygen updater app. Then install is with local update, then delete data and cache of gboard. Then reboot phone, but doesnt show emoji...
Now works like a charm. Plus problem was the hungarian keyboard layout (only in beta gboard).
Thanks a lot!

How do you clean the keyboard's data? I have the exact same issue as OP. Can it be done without flashing twrp? Installing twrp seems to break my system until I do a full restore over fastboot..
EDIT: Tried xxx no limits to add emojis, and the reserve_V1.zip magisk module in the thread you linked. Neither worked for me.
EDIT2: Nvm, the reserve module worked. Just had to wait
I installed magisk module from the thread mentioned above, text fixed but applications are broken.
You can error in the screenshot, both sound recorder and notes display the same error. Cleaning of their storage does not help.
Did someone manage to have working stock apps on OOS 10.3 & OnePlus 6?

Local re-install (+reflash TWRP and magisk) solved it, the emojis are back ! I still have one problem from the soft brick left over: When connecting the phone, normally an additional CD drive appears with the oneplus logo and the oneplus drivers. After the flash, nothinf. After the reinstallation, the CD drive was back but witout logo or drivers.
I found the drivers on the web (https://www.getdroidtips.com/download-oneplus-usb-drivers/), but after installing I still have some standard microsoft ones (date 21/06/2006, version 10.0.18362.1, Microsoft).
Could someone quickly check on your PC if those are the orrect ones ??
Thanks

microG + Android Auto fully working

This is how you can use Android Auto with microG and connect your phone with your car.
Prerequisites:
Android 10+
Newest microG core (https://github.com/microg/GmsCore/releases)
A custom recovery to flash a zip file
Let's begin:
For Android Auto we'll use nikgapps Android Auto add-on and modify one file in the flashable zip.
Download nikgapps Android Auto add-on here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/nikgapps/files/Releases/
Dpending on your Android version, choose the correct Addons-(Q/R) folder, then, you want to download "NikGapps-Addon-10/11-AndroidAuto-date-signed.zip"
Now open the downloaded package and open the folder "common". In there you'll find "nikgapps_functions.sh". This file needs to be modified as follows:
Open this file and search for "is_on_top_of_nikgapps"
Remove the following (this code checks if you have installed nikgapps core already, but since we don't want to install that, it must be removed):
Code:
is_on_top_of_nikgapps() {
nikgapps_present=false
# shellcheck disable=SC2143
if [ "$(grep 'allow-in-power-save package=\"com.mgoogle.android.gms\"' "$system"/etc/sysconfig/*.xml)" ] ||
[ "$(grep 'allow-in-power-save package=\"com.mgoogle.android.gms\"' "$system"/product/etc/sysconfig/*.xml)" ]; then
nikgapps_present=true
fi
addToLog "- Is on top of NikGapps: $nikgapps_present"
if [ "$nikgapps_present" != "true" ]; then
abort "This Addon can only be flashed on top of NikGapps"
fi
}
It should look something like this now:
Code:
.....
else
addToLog "- Failed to write $install_location"
abort "Installation Failed! Looks like Storage space is full!"
fi
fi
}
# Check if the partition is mounted
.....
That's it! Now you can flash this zip with your recovery and you'll have fully working Android Auto!
hellcat50I have attempted your tutorial using lineageOS 18.1 + microg rom one a oneplus 8 pro and have some issues.
If I follow you instructions exactly, I can sometimes get android auto to connect to my car after I manually install android auto from the aurora store. It gets stuck, however, at my car's screen saying something like - please follow the instructions on your phone to complete the android auto setup. Android auto app does show car connected, and car shows android auto icon, but only the message to complete setup on my phone.
So, I am guessing that I should not have to actually install android auto, and it should have been installed via the NikGapps file..... However after making the changes to the NikiGapps-android-auto.....zip file and flashing, I get errors (probably why android auto didn't actually install).
Error is:
Error in /sideload/package.zip (status 1)
It also says something about no space left of device as the script rolls ....
Can you give a little more detail in your instructions, and perhaps note if you are using android 11 or android 10.
Keep in mind that I am flashing this zip using lineageos recovery, as twrp is not yet available for the oneplus pro 8 that works with android 11.
Glad you were able to get this working. I have everything working perfectly other than Android Auto... (I did make sure to install google maps, speach services, and search as I know they are required by AA.
Hoping to get this working. Thanks.

it could actually be that your system partition is full, that's why you got the error message. but if that isn't the issue and android auto is installed as a system app after reboot, it should work flawlessly. you only need to install google maps, the google app and google speech services manually. if you still getting problems, try and choose file transfer as the usb connection option (if you connect your phone with cable). and make sure android auto has all the permissions (especially microphone since it refuses to launch without it)
btw i flashed the zip with lineageos recovery too, it isn't a problem
hellcat50,
Thanks for responding. Interesting that you flashed with lineage recovery also...
Did you get no errors installing? Someone mentioned that to install google apps it needs to be done right after flashing the OS. Is this the way you installed?
In my case I had already installed the OS and apps before I saw your method - No clue how system partition could be full - as my phone has tons of space and only lineage and a few apps installed. It's basically a clean install.
Does it make sense for me to reflash OS and then magisk, and then Nikgapps before booting into OS? I don't want to do this if not necessary.
Also, can you elaborate a bit on what is "special" about Nikgapps-android-auto package that makes this work as opposed to just downloading android auto from Aurora?
Finally, I do have all the dependancy apps installed (gogole, tts, maps) and changing to file transfer does trigger android auto and shows connected on car and in app - but on the car it is stuck at something like "please complete setup on your phone.
As for permissions I will double check that mic has permissions. I did allow all permissions during setup.
Setup does seem to keep asking for google maps to have "location permissions" which I have made sure are on all the time.
Is there anything that you did to get by this location permissions other than making sure google maps has them? Google maps works fine.
The location modules I have in MicroG are the default ones, Mozilla location services and Nominatim address lookup modules. Any chance you have something different or additional?

1. you don't need to reflash the rom. i installed the android auto package after i had already setup the system, just like you. as for the full system partition, it depends on the device how large the system partition is. you can check this with fx file explorer for example.
3. the special thing about this package is that it contains not only the android auto apk, but other library files that cannot be installed with just an apk. you can have a look at what files will be installed by opening the nikgapps package and inside the file AppSet/AndroidAuto/AndroidAuto.zip.
4. for the location thing, you just need to activate your location. you can ignore the warning, it should work anyways.
5. i use the same modules with microg, but you don't need them anyways as it works with or without these modules.
just a reminder that the nikgapps package needs to be flashed in order to get android auto fully working. without it you can only use android auto locally on your phone, and you get these car connection problems.
sorry but if you cannot flash the zip due to this error i can't help you. the only thing i could recommend to you is to try and flash other zips that modify the system partition, check if your system partition is actually full and/or ask the rom developers for assistance.

Ok,
I have checked and the /system partition is indeed full. Seems like lineageOs makes the /system partition about 1 gb, and then fills it....
Anyone know a way to increase / resize the system partition? Oneplus 8 pro with Lineage + microG rom installed....
Hello and thanks,
I tried on my redmi note 10 with dotOS rom but when i try to open AA, the application it's closed and icon has hidden on interface.
Are you the same problem ?

you need to download this app on order to access android auto on your phone again: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.projection.gearhead.phonescreen
flashed the modified zip with twrp on a new install on microg lineageOS 17.1. on a Zenfone 6. The android auto app appears for a few moments after restart in my app drawer but when i tried to access it the app closed and is now hidden. settings for AA are still available. when i plug it into my headunit i get a "No installed apps work with this usb accessory" warning. i have a logcat output but the biggest error seemed to be a wirelesscharging notifcation ogg file not found

I also wanted this feature, pretty badly and have just been down a very long rabbit hole and managed to get it working.
Firstly, instead of modifying the Nikgapps, I built a custom package which only includes android auto here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/ni...apps-aa-arm64-11-20210826-signed.zip/download
So you don't need to mess with any configuration files.
Now, the hard part was lack of sizing in the system partition after installing lineageOS + microg. I'm using a pixel 5 (redfin). The microg + lineageOS image doesn't leave any extra room to install gapps on the system partition once its flashed and installing the NikGapps package always fails. In order to leave some extra room on the system partition, I rebuilt the lineageOs + microg package from source, modifying the reserve partition size (https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...l/blob/lineage-18.1/BoardConfigLineage.mk#L63)
I removed the if clause around this (which checks for google mobile services) and had to decrease the reserve size down about 10MB (because with microg it makes the system partition too large to fit in the super partition).
After re-compiling lineageOS with microg (I can share the image (for pixel 5's) if anyone is interested) I flashed that, rebooted to recovery, flashed the Nikgapps and boom, everything is working as expected.
Although building android from source isn't a fun endeavor. For those with pixel 5's who want a lineageOS + microg rom with about 1g reserved on the system partition I can post the image I built.
@D.u.G. - Had a quick look. Looks like its a similar design for you. https://github.com/LineageOS/androi...tnoodlep/blob/lineage-18.1/BoardConfig.mk#L39
You could remove the if statements around this and build from source for your device. If the build fails, reduce the reserve size for system. Its kinda annoying to build tho.
For those of you with rooted devices: You can also just create a privapp stub by systemizing (magisk module) the stub apk found here. Then update AA from aurora store.
It works fine for me on Los 18.1 altough for some reason not all AA compatible apps show up. I also haven't found a mirroring app yet that works.

I modified the file using 7zip, i tryed to flash it with PBRP 3.1.0 but no luck, says "invalid zip file format". any idea?
Xiaomi Redmi 3s 2GB - Fork LOS 17.1 with microg
Update, I installed the original zip from nickgapps without editing the file mentioned with pbrp 3.1.0 without a problem. Thing is, i don't see any icon in the app drawer but its there on settings, apps and i can enter settings of aa.
Is that the way it works? I haven't tried it in the car yet...
Update, i used this app mentioned above from hellcut
Android Auto for phone screens - Apps on Google Play
Must-have smart driving app with maps, media, messaging, and voice actions
play.google.com
AA now working on phone but i get the same message with user 36iii, "No installed apps work with this usb accessory".
Searching for a solution...

In the settings of AA you can set it to accept apps from unknown sources and that should allow you see the extra apps.

First I tried to modify the zip file but upon flasing i got an error also, somthing like "not a valid zip"...
Then I flashed the original nickgapps aa extra zip succesfully with pbrp but got no aa icon in the app drawer, then i flashed your zip but still same problem, no icon.
then i installed android auto for phone screens, mentioned above.
i got aa on phone but upon connection with car a get a message on phone "No installed apps work with this usb accessory".
a) is your zip file for aa for android 10 or it doesnt matter?
b) did i totally mest up my flos 17.1 + microg installation after all this flashing?
c) can i repear any damage?
d) is there a way to make it work in the car?
Thanx, i reposted to you hoping for an answer, because you seem to know what your doing...!

Hey. Yeah, sorry i forgot to mention, I built that aa version for android 11.
You can build your own version with the latest by following the guide here: https://github.com/nikgapps/config
This will build a custom suite of NikGApps. Essentially, in the configuration, I set everything to false and just included android auto.
The flashing should be fine. If I were you, I'd try remove any version of android auto from the phone (if an icon exists). Try and build your own NikGApps package for whatever android version you are using. And try re-flash that.
You shouldn't need to download android auto from any store, if the app icon doesn't appear, it seems its not working on your rom.
As a last resort (depending on how much you want it), I'd try re-flash your original rom (formatting your phone) and immediately after, flash the AA zip before booting into android.
If it works correctly, you should see an AA app icon, when entering, it will tell you you have to download gMaps and a few others apps. Download them from the store then limit their access. You may also have to enable unknown sources for apps in the AA settings. Once connected to your car it should work fine (at least it did for me).
Again, my setup is for Pixel 5, Lineage OS 18.1 android 11
