Hello everyone!
Did anyone notice this ugly yellow tint at the bottom of the screen? It about 1/4 of display along from camera side. Could anybody prove that the problem could be fixed by update? I have MIUI 9.5.16.0 ODGRUFA on my phone, official Russian rom.

Put screen contrast to Increased contrast not atuomatic.

I have already put the contrast to Increased. It has a little effect, but I steel see the warm tint at the bottom. It visible only on a white background and none-visible on any others colors (tested with Screen Test app). This not interrupting with using the phone and could be ignored, but my old Redmi Note 3 Pro has the clear white color and I don't understand how the top-phone like Mix 2s could has a defect like this.
I have created the same thread on the MIUI official forum and as I see this is the mass global problem, but not everyone notices the yellow tint. Many of users are talking about the same on the Russian forums (4pda, for example) .
install aida64 app and check whether its a 1080p jdi video panel
if yes then its a hardware panel calibration issue and u must try replacement as same happened with me on mi mix 2 in which i had 1/4 upper part red tint and this problem cant be solved by any software update and in worst case u can adjust its calibration by flashing a custom kernel which support kcal color profile but that will only reduce that tint and not completely eliminate it

As far as I know, there are only JDI panels. I did not find more than that when I searched the internet (which just criticized them for their low quality and the bad choice that Xiaomi made with these)
Yes, here is JDI, the only one panel in all Mix 2s smartphones.

So as you know the kit kat update brought back the smearing (which was more or less hidden until know) and is the most noticable when you are on the lowest brightness. But also there is a green tint on lowest brightness, most noticeably in videos. Now as you know apps like screen adjuster reduce this problem but what i found is that when activated screen adjuster (15 on contrast in my case) does the following: i was in youtube app to test and in portrait the video didn't had any green tint, while in landscape the tint appeared. And with some other video player (like mx) the tint was gone and the smearing was reduced or even gone. Note that in mx i wasn't using the screen adjuster app. So maybe just maybe there is something in the software that samsung messed up. If a dev can look into this maybe we can figure out something.
Thanks in advance and i apologise if these things were known and i wasted your time.

Been using Samsung phones aswell as others for years and never had a single fault. They all latest over a year before being sold on with zero issues. I've had an S4 since launch and it's still working perfectly. As far as reliability and build-quality goes Samsung is the best in the business, and by build quality I mean how well its assembled and reliability NOT the material the case is made of which many of you care so much about.

Same for me, i keep my screen at about half brightness and it is fine, i can't say i have looked overly close at all though..
Since the s4 true black pixels get completely turned off, the smearing you see are those pixels turning on again. It's a hardware thing.
Can't say I've noticed any difference. Can you elaborate at all?

You can see it in this video. Black pixels leave a purpleish trail on the screen. http://youtu.be/DOQ91ujRFxU
I see what you mean now, so is this a hardware limitation or somehow linked to the software (os version)

Hardware limitation of OLED screens. Pixels take some time to go from completely off (black) to a lighter color such as blue or gray resulting in that weird trailing. AFAIK, the older version of the software didn't use pure black (pixel off) in the menu but a slightly lighter shade of black (so that the pixel would not be completely off). I still noticed it in some moving scenes in movies though when pure black was used.
For the green tint I don't know, I remember when I switched from LCD on my Sony phone to the S4 I noticed it had tinted whites and weirdly saturated colors but now I'm used to it and I don't notice it anymore and I actually kinda like the saturated colors even though they aren't very realistic.
Haven't seen one since switching from my bloody ****ty Galaxy W I8150 which had a really bad white smearing effect (v3 HW rev). Using the exynos version with MFD: 2013:12:24 (christmas eve baby!)
There MIGHT be differences with screens manufactured at different time/version/revision but that's just an uneducated guess.
I made a screen white balance adjuster for android screens (with a few other adjustments, e.g. tint and brightness)...
Some phones are lucky enough to already have these, like the Xperia seriese, but they you have my Moto X that has a yellow tint for some reason!
If you want to give it a go, it's here.

Ha, yes, well, this app corrects it!
I have updated it to adjust the contrast as well.
I also have a Moto X and looking for a way to get rid of the yellowish tint. I tried the app but I can't find a way to make the colors colder or change the white balance. All I can do is set a tint/filter and change the strength of it. Changing color modes between tind and white balance seems to do nothing. (Version 4.0)
Is it even possible to change the yellow tint with the free version? I will not buy the paid version unless I am sure that it can do more and it's what I really need.
Also, what are the downsides and the effect on pixel longevity, battery and performance? I tried chainfire's cf.lumen (which requires root) and it has the nasty habit of applying its filters twice when switching between portrait and landscape. I guess your app does also just overlay a transparent, tinted image over the whole screen?
I really don't want to get used to a new calibration and then find out that I have to switch back to the old one because of a drawback.
my N6 has yellow tint too...but only on the bottom part...how can i adjust only the bottom part ?is there any possible way to do it ?if i adjust my whole screen with your app there will be a difference between top and bottom ..i have this stupid yellow tint on white and grey background..on grey it is soooooooooooo bad
Has anyone of you observed? The camera has this major flaw.
The camera doesn't capture Red objects in real pure red color at all.
Instead camera captures Red stuff as Orange or Pinkish tints but not pure red.
This should has got fixed long time ago as many users facing this issue. And its a major flaw else images appear unreal.
I tried GCam and other apps but all capturing incorrect red color.
Any solutions?

Hello,
I unfortunately found several flaws in the screen of this phone. Problems that I haven't had on other phones for a long time (Mi 9T, OP 7 was perfect). I found shadows on the dark backgrounds visible in low light + low brightness (and a pinkish tint on right side on the white backgrounds). Please give us your opinion.
PS: 2nd image of OP Nord but same issue
Not had any of these issues at all. Mine is fine. Think it's something wrong with that specific phone mate.

Im facing some display issues in my poco x4 pro 5g Indian variant
in dark mod or when opening a plane black photo in gallery the display not becoming fully black I can see some dark white areas in display but in certain brightness level only (20-50%) and little bit screen flickering.
No issue with always on display black areas are completely black
Is that a ui bug or hardware issue?
anyone facing the same?
Yeah I also got this issue. I don't have a link but you can look for "Oreo Colorizer" I don't specifically know how this works but I think it's a software issue.

This has a couple of solutions, sometimes it works, both options work for me tho. but i rarely or never use darkmode cause the blacks are 100% black and looks ugly in my opinion, i rather have a dark gray dark mode, but still i wouldn't use it that much
the screen is the best screen you'll get for mid range phones the screen pretty much is a flagship level screen. So i don't care much of the spots cause colors, contrast, the deep blacks it gives are perfect.
POCO X4 Pro 5G AMOLED screen shows some bright spots on dark/black images.
Hello everyone! I just got my POCO X4 Pro 5G phone yesterday. I absolutely love using it to bits. However, I noticed that while browsing through content on medium (40 - 50%) brightness, the phone does not actually go fully dark. Some parts are...
