Has anyone else experienced this?
I fully charged my phone in the evening, unplugged it and switched it off. About 10am I went to switch it on and found the phone to be warm to the touch. When I switched it on the battery was showing 60%.
This is one of a long line of battery issues.
What can I do to sort this?

Seems like your phone doesn't shut off at all :s
I would just turn it back to the store. Nothing you should have to do with it at all to get it working.. It's a new phone.
Unfortunately I bought it from Gearbest, and as such returning back to store is not an option.
Your best shot is try to factory reset then.
But if there is a hardware issue u just have to live with it.
Has anyone else had a hardware issue?
Does your battery life section show what's consuming the battery?
U sure it was off ?
Not just locked...
Have a look at these battery stats.
Seem weird to me.
This morning my phone turned it's self on just prior to a 6am alarm. Seems like when the phone is off, there are still some processes active.

.
I agree with @whizeguy here.
.
But I would go a step further than that. . . . I would "fastboot boot twrp.img" and then within twrp, do a "format data". . . . Backup your phone's download / music / pictures to your PC first ! ! !
.
Use this twrp with mtp working . . .
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-2-0-touch-recovery-t3813317
.
Then I would put the rom back on with this guide.

It sounds to me as if your phone is hanging during shutdown and not truly turning off. It can happen as certain process take place that can freeze. The other possibility is a serious hardware defect/short that is pulling juice from the battery even when everything is off.
Do a full wipe and clean flash of OOS, and see if the problem continues before you reinstall anything. If it does, you have a defective phone and need to return it.

I am now under the assumption that my TF thinks the battery is dead even though there was a full charge in it before I shut it down yesterday. I have been having issues regarding turning it on and couldn't even get into APX mode. I have just tried APX again and manged to get connected, started to run NVflash, then the screen came on showing the large battery image with the red power amount tne just disconnected. I had the TF on charge all night to so there should be full battery.
Anyone else have this issue or know about a fix?
Thanks

Can you get to recovery? Have you tried reseting battery stats?
Also are you using stock charger or have you charged the tablet with another device?

Cheers for your reply m8. At this moment in time, I can't get into anything. Managed to get APX mode earlier, but like I say, it shut down thinking it had no battery, even though it should have been full. Yes it is stock charger and not I haven't used any other method of charging. I am unrooted and stock so other than using CWM, I don't know how to wipe battery stats. Will wiping Battery stats help? What does it wipe?
Thanks

Well I emailed ASUS this morning and have got an email back from them saying it needs to go for service. Just filled out the form for RMA, now just waiting for return details.
Gutted, not even 4 weeks old.

Wiping battery stats clears the data that the device has of the battery. Its like reseting or recalibrating it if the device's battery level isn't displayed as it should be.
EDIT: Seems you posted before I finished with this one... Since ASUS told you to service it, it might came like that from the start. Good thing you didn't root or install a custom ROM.

Thanks Azureus.
I looked at wiping the battery stats when I first rooted, but wasn't sure what it did so just left it.
Yeah it is a good job it aint rooted. Just wondering now on what the turn around will be. This thing has grown to be like my right hand, lol

Well looks like I am getting a replacement tommorrow all being well. Just got an email back from the place where I bought my TF from and they have 1 left in stock. Gonna leave the RMA ongoing until I have the new one in my hands.
Ooooh, can't wait.
Once, i was halfway using whatsapp then phone turned off automatically, when I turn it back on i was able to boot up past the bootscreen until i got this: Refer to Picture 003.jpg
Then I did a complete reset via CWM. I even installed CNA 3.6.6 (I was using 3.5.0 before this)
Still no avail, do I've decided to flash back to 4.0.4 to see whether things are working out or not.
I did it via fastboot.
Same thing.
What could be the problem?
Do take note that even though in the picture I'm booting it up in safe mode but still no avail for normal mode.
And, when I'm charging my phone with the power switched off I'm getting this: Refer to Picture 004.jpg
Supposedly it's a battery icon that indicates charging activity but I'm getting a battery icon with (blinking) exclamation mark.
What's wrong?

Gonna try it soon as soon as my friend is with me. Anyways, the picture I've attached shows the shutting down popup.
When it first occured(and for the next few times)it's without the popup and i can't even pull down my notifications window. BUT the 4 buttons worked. they responded by vibrating.

warning! TL; DR post about what happened to my phone.
I've left my phone (accidentally) under heavy rain for almost an hour.
By the time I got my phone back it's still working, but with a (kinda) faulty loudspeaker.
Others went a-okay.
I turned off and let it stay put for everything inside to dry up then charge. Realized that I can't charge at all. I can't even connect to computer or whatnot. So I brought it to a service center. They told me it's mobo issue and I've decided not to fix it (cause my warranty's over)
That day when I brought it back from service center, miraculously I can charge my phone! was happy at first then I kept on charging. Then story continues as first post.

i bought my nexus from a man for 25$ because it wasnt able to charge and when u turned it on it just went stuck on the motion starting picture.
so i went to a technician and he told me to buy the usb port , i found the original port for nexus s on ebay, so he fixed it...
since then i am able to charge it (with a exclamation sign if its off) and i have even intalled every rom i have found here, via odin/fastboot/CWM, etc. but nothing... so it keeps on stucked on the starting picture, sometimes just SOMETIMES it went up like yours, *going up and saying/showing Android System icon, batterymetter on the upper part of the screen, middle screen; saying power off, shutting down, after some secs, vibrates and goes OFF.
only with slimbeam i got that behavior always turn it on.
p.s. the USB port was unable because phone have been wet (from the other owner hands)...
one thing, make sure the battery contact points are clean i know its dumb but it could help

Yesterday i got OTA update 4.1.2 in my Nexus S i9023 in India. But after restarting the system for installation for some reason the update was not done. Hey all, I just got through with this hurricane sandy business and now I find my phone not working at all. First off I'd like to say that there is no water damage to this phone and it is NOT rooted. The problem is that it just won't turn on at all, and won't charge when I try to charge the device. The day before I charged the phone and it worked fine. I can provide more details if needed but I need to find a solution to this.
Did it run down on battery completely before it did this? You might need to charge it for a bit before it turns on. Also, see if you can get your hands on a spare battery to see if it's the battery's problem. I would also try removing the battery and putting it back just to make sure it wasn't jostled loose.

Two days ago I completely let the battery drain on its own because it was draining faster than usual and I was using it very minimally due to the lack of phone signal during the power outage. And yesterday I charged it until it was 100% in the morning and at night I charged it again until 100%. Before I went to bed, I turned off my phone and it was 90% and when I turned it on in the morning it was at 77% (which I thought was weird since the phone was not even on). Now the phone will not work at all. I took the battery out and everything. I even tried turning the phone on while trying to charge it (but it would not charge). The only feedback I got was that it vibrated when I tried turning it on this afternoon and after that was nothing. (it would either get stuck at the AT&T bootup part or I would get no display at all)

Nothing I can think of. It was fully charged by 9PM the other night and shut off before I went to bed. Next morning the batter is nearly halfway drained for no apparent reason. I think I will get another battery to test.
Also I let the battery sit out of the phone for a few days now and the phone still does not work.

Get a hold of a charged battery, then after 1 hour with no battery in the device, replace the battery remove the SD-Card and the SIM-Card, replace all covers. Reboot your PC and go to firewall tab in the control panel and turn of your firewalls, then reboot your PC, then using USB data cable not a charging cable.. with your device being OFF conect to a USB connection in the back of your PC, if it's a laptop use the one next to the intranet connection. Then wait about 1min. If nothing happwned, hold the volume down button then press and release the power button. if nothing happened, hold the volume up then press and release the power button. If nothing happened do the samething this time by holding both up and down volume buttons. If nothing happened with your device connected to the PC go to MY Computer tab right click on C>Properties then go to tools click on check disc tab check mark both options then restart your PC. Before windows tour OS starts, your PC will go through a self check. let it do its thing. it takes a couple of hours. then after its down check to see if it has seen your device. if not then do procedures above once again. GOOD LUCK.

Okay so I finally got it to turn on but in order to charge it, the phone must be turned off for some reason. Also, the touch screen is not working, even after I did a hard reset and erased all my data. I'm not sure if it is a hardware issue or a software issue because the display is working fine.

That same thing happened to a friend of mine. She took it to a technician tho and they sorted it out for her.
Hello every one, this just my first post here, but I have been follow the forum very very close since some days ago thanks to Mustaavalkosta and his new CyanogenMod Rom here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2533007&page=283.
I am having a similar problem with my HTC Inspire, here is my story. I bought it like it a year ago, the first thing I do was to rooted with AAHK and install CyanoyenMod cm-7-20130301-NIGHTLY-ace. Everything works just fine till a couple of months ago. One night I just leave my Inspire and go to sleep, the next morning I wasn't able to turn on, not charging, not turn on. Was not the battery because my brother has another Inspire and I check with his battery. I just leave the phone without the battery and Sim and SD for a day and them come back again, but at next day the same occurs. I try all that time, vol down+power. voldown+volup, every convination but nothing works. So I decide to dissensambly my phone... in the process I broke the ribbon flex cable http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-HTC-Desire-HD-Inspire-4G-Camera-Socket-Keypad-Membrane-PBC-Ribbon-Flex-Cable-/320925341841?pt=US_Cell_Phone_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item4ab8a41891 The phone was in parts on my table like a month till I was able to buy and recieve the ribbon (I live in Colombia). Finally the ribbon arrives 3 days ago, so I assembled the phone again and...magic! the phone turns on. My next step was install the Mustaavalkosta Rom that I mentioned before.... but, yesterday, my phone was dead again. So a try all steps again, put out the battery, Sim and Sd... and again try all the combinations of buttons, but nothing works... So I do it again: dissensably again my phone: Only disconnecting the display doesn't works... I have to disconect the display and the ribbon cable, assembled again and just turn on again.... Now I am waiting for the next black out...
I know is a weird behavior, but may be some one can point me in some direction to fix it.. I am not a developer or anything like that, but I like to investigate and solve problems... any help will be wonderful.
Cheers!
PD: I dont have any apps installed, just trying the Rom as it is.
PD: The next time it happens I will try the niavaran advises.
Please I need Some help. I just instaled ClearRom (last version) in My Asus TF700; since then I'm having problems in the level of my battery.

I am having the same issue, although not quite as bad as you. Mine goes dead at 28%. I plan on doing this (hopefully I won't get banned for posting another site :

If that doesn't work I read somewhere that charging to full power then wiping and flashing the latest stock blob can help. How to do that is described here for an older update:

Charge it to 100% and turn it off over the night or 24h as I did, simple as that and it will restore it self... Don't wipe or reflash it, doesn't help, at least it didn't for me but turning it of COMPLETLY did the trick

If you're sure it's not a battery problem, and you've run a battery calibration after backup, factory reset, and restore, just to be completely positive, you might want to see if it is a power button issue. The internals of the button get stuck every so often, and I found that when it was usable, I still got huge battery drain, and sometimes turning off and on by itself. There was a place near me that fixed the button on my S4 mini for $15, worked just like new.
I found that the phone was losing battery when when turned off, try leaving it off overnight and if it drains, it's probably an issue with the button.
If it's just a software problem, then that won't help. What does the OS say is using the battery? Maybe check for wakelocks with a battery saving app, I'm sure someone could recommend something

I had a problem which was similar to this but the phone I got is LYF Flame 7.
My phone was automatically shutting down a few minutes after the device is locked, I investigated every setting to check whether anything like auto shutting down or sleep or something was enabled , but every settings were okay but the problem continued.
When I bought this phone, I was disabled a lot of useless stock apps . I re-enabled all these apps to their default and then the problem is solved.
So you just try reverting your apps to their default,if you have tried to disabled it.
Clear its Cache and Misc
Also try a factory reset and try to boot the phone without any SIM cards and SD card.
In my knowledge , I think , the problem of your phone is software related and hardware is okay.
And keep investigating in S3 threads.
