Does this still allow us to use Essential mode and the LCD screen or is it straight Wear OS?

Don't need to be logged in on google talk......Just need to have your google.mail attached to the market on your device (Which you do when you activate the market for the first time)!
Works awesome, I have been playing with it for about an hour now.
You would think the site would be more mobile browser friendly

The point of it is to install apps from your computer. Going to the site on your phone kind of defeats the purpose of it, especially when you already have a thing call the Market app on the phone.

Its not designed for mobile browsers..........
the market is supposed to be used on your mobile.
The purpose of the web based site is so you can install apps without even touching your phone, from your PC.
sweet
now this could be nice

But you have to have your phone to run the app....doesn't that mean you have to touch it? And so, why not download from the Market app?
Kinda dumb useless if you ask me.

You don't have to have your phone. The website pushes the app to your phone and your phone installs it automatically for you, there is no manual install on the phone to be done. You don't have to touch the phone at all. it just has to be on!
Try it.

It makes searching for apps easier
It also makes reinstalling all those apps easier after you get your replacement phone from the random shutdown issue or after updating to a custom 2.2 rom.
MUCH easier.
Everyone knows that feeling when someone asks to use your phone but you're afraid to let them because they can go through everything on it. This is a serious privacy issue within Android; there is no easy way to lend others your phone without them being able to go through it. That's why I created Obstructer, an app for Android that blocks access to your device's content when you let others use your phone. It works by disabling the home button, the recent app screen and the notification bar. This makes everything on your phone inaccessible until you enter a password that opens when the call is ended.
So tell me what you think, the link is below.

this is a good idea. My suggestion is to make it free and add a new feature people are going to want and since already using your app, the chances are greater they buy the extra feature.

I actually am in the process of doing this, making an upgraded version that includes messaging, image viewer and browser.
I hope this is in the right section if not please move if possible.
I'd like to start developing apps to take advantage of the second screen but am failing to find anything from LG where they provide information on how to do so. Has any one found any documentation from LG or in Googles documentation that would provide a starting point for how to use the second screen within an app?
Maybe it's right in my face and I'm just missing it.

I was looking for this too but there has been no information on this. I checked the LG Developer website and there was no SDK or any mention of the Second Screen: http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveSDKList.dev?categoryId=CTANRS030201
I would take a look into the Settings apk, reverse it, and see if there is anything useful in there.

Have you been successful decompiling and recompiling LGSettings.apk? If so could you please share any info you have.
I posted about it on LG's dev forum (which is completely useless really):
LG Dev forum response:
" Hello, mkarlovic.
We're pleased to hear that you're interested in LG V10.
Currently we have no actual plan to open APIs for 2nd Screen, but we will consider.
If we have any updates for it, we'll inform you through this site.
Thanks."

Sounds to me like people need to bug LG in mass about this.

Samsung DeX-like Desktop Mode?
I don’t have a lot to show here, but I found a very interesting new Developer Option called “force desktop mode.” Its description reads “force experimental desktop mode on secondary displays.” This sounds to me like it’s going to be a Samsung DeX or EMUI Easy Projection-type feature, but I wasn’t able to actually test it since nothing happened when I plugged in my USB Type-C to HDMI adapter. Also, for some reason, I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi so I couldn’t test whether this experimental desktop mode works via the cast option.

I don't know if someone was able to get it working.
(sorry bad english)
In the Android Q beta 1 in the developer options there is a desktop mode option on external screens.
From what I've read at the moment it does nothing.
Sorry for reviving this old post, but has anyone tried on Android 11, Is it possible to make it work on our pixel 3 xl?
Hi!
I'm new here and I'm developer. Unfortunately, I can't post my app to XDA: DEVDB yet. But I can ask the community something at least.
I'm working on the app for Digital Wellbeing. The goal of the app the same as for all digital wellbeing apps. To reduce mindless smartphone usage.
So, my questions are:
1. Do you use any Digital Wellbeing apps?
2. What are these apps? App Blockers? Screen time stats?
3. Do you think screen time and all that Digital Wellbeing stuff are important?
Thanks,
UPDATED:
App posted to XDA Dev DB: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-acture-app-reduces-mindless-t4095947
Yes we use digital wellbeing app to limit our screen time...
Can your app function like one plus zen mode??

The app is a bit different. The main idea is to ask the user to type a reason after every phone unlock. By doing this user defines a goal before using the phone.
What do you think about it?
Q1. is it open source?
Q2. can it work without google or gapps?
Q3. dark mode presnt?
Q4. Root/non root
Q5. when it will release?
pls provide link after release
Best Wishes frm me.

The concept is very good!!!
Implementation is a bit disappointing...
Saw some reviews on ps...
App doesn't always start by itself,, sometimes late,,,
That dismiss option..... ?
But keeping in mind it is still in early stages,,, it is doing its job well
Lastly keeping the app open in background, how much battery does it consume...
N if possible, make a root version too for force implementation...
Nice work though
Keep it up
To reduce mindless smartphone usage.I am currently using app-forest,This is a really great app.
