Samsung DeX-like Desktop Mode?
I don’t have a lot to show here, but I found a very interesting new Developer Option called “force desktop mode.” Its description reads “force experimental desktop mode on secondary displays.” This sounds to me like it’s going to be a Samsung DeX or EMUI Easy Projection-type feature, but I wasn’t able to actually test it since nothing happened when I plugged in my USB Type-C to HDMI adapter. Also, for some reason, I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi so I couldn’t test whether this experimental desktop mode works via the cast option.

I don't know if someone was able to get it working.
(sorry bad english)

In the Android Q beta 1 in the developer options there is a desktop mode option on external screens.
From what I've read at the moment it does nothing.

Sorry for reviving this old post, but has anyone tried on Android 11, Is it possible to make it work on our pixel 3 xl?

Another one that works pretty good and can be obtained for free can be found At Pandaapp under android software downloads (they also make versions for Win Mobile and iphone ... it allows syncing, remote control, etc... only catch is its natively in Chinese, but you can simply click the first menu on the top left and switch it to english.

How do I remote into my android phone on my windows desktop?

Hi,
I am looking to remote into my phone to do some typing. I have a camera program & I need to enter all the info on the phone.
I tried airdroid but it wont let me actually see the screen. Is there any way to enter data using a windows PC into the GSiII?
Thanks,
Rich

Try hooking a keyboard right to your phone. I saw it was a feature you can hook up a mouse as well. Not at the same time though
I personally like airdroid.
I have airdroid but I dont see how I can use my PC to control my android phone. Teamviewer looks like it only has an android controling a pc.

I've never even heard of this being done. You can control your PC with your phone via TeamViewer or Splashtop but not the other way around as far as I know.
I would just plug a USB keyboard to your phone if you really needed to type stuff out.

Which remote control app is working?

Hi guys,
Do you have any advice for me which remote control app is working for my non rooted LeEco Le Max 2?
TeamViewer let me connect to the device but I can't swipe nor open any apps.
AirDroid says that I need root for controling the phone.
Thank you!
As I know, LeEco are using a custom IR api, so non of the apps in the play store would work. However, if you install Xposed, there is a mod fixing this problem called "LeEco infra fix".
Thank you for your reply.
But I was not asking for the IR remote control. I mean that I want to control the phone from a desktop PC.
Can anyone help?

Oops, my bad, sorry
You can use vysor (search it in Google, it's a chrome extension), you only need to enable usb debugging and then you can control the device with the pc

try mobizen
Still no success remote controling my Le Max 2. Nor with TeamViewer nor with AirDroid.
Only way right now: PC to PC with Teamviewer and then starting AirDroid on the remote PC where the phone is connected via USB. On the phone I also have to start AirDroid then. Too complicated and too slow.
I also recommend Vysor, you can even do it with wireless ADB to control your android from anywhere on the same network

Question Dex supported?

Can this device run Samsung DEX? installed it but can't find it and want to link it to my PC to use like i would with DEX.
Is google doing their own thing with a similar app i'm unaware of?
DeX is a Samsung only feature.

I'm only partially familiar with DEX. I know the basics about it, but that's it. I don't know if Microsoft's "Link your phone" feature has any similarities. Used to be called the "Your phone" app, and before that was called something else, but "Link your phone" appears to be integrated into Windows 10, and I assume 11, too, now.
There's also TeamViewer, and also scrcpy:

Dex is a very good PC emulator. It's limited to 1080p. If it were 4k it would be good enough to ditch your PC using a high end Samsung. Google SHOULD work on similar software for their Chromesuck device.

I think Phone Link app from Microsoft sounds like something for you.
