Hey guys, I tried emailing Honor for support, but haven't heard back from them yet. Anyone else try and have better luck?
Team,
I will be out of the office starting Friday July 13th and not be coming back until Monday July 23rd. I will not be having any access to my email and very limited access to my phone.
If you have an important matter you wish to address you can contact David Perez
(Huawei USA CCM) at [email protected] or attempt to reach me at
+52 55 1922 9661
Here is a list of other people you can contact:
Oscar Medina (Huawei LATAM CCM): [email protected]
Jose Valdivieso (Huawei LATAM ACCM): [email protected]
Arantxa Villa (Huawei Client Manager): [email protected]
Kind Regards,

Message: I've got an Honor 8. It's there B397 patch that's on the update server with the July secure update going to be rolled out soon?
I'm having the "No Service" in the status bar issue that's reported fixed in B520 released for other region's Honor 8's and would really appreciate the fix. It's making my device unusable for his at a time. Restarting doesn't fix it.

B397 got released last night for L04 users. Also if you did contact him, could you mention the AR bug, where apps like Snapchat the AR spins like crazy and till now there doesn't seem to be any fix.
I just checked now on FF, saw 397 was approved, did a double take, and installed it.
I tried contacting the guy suggested, but haven't heard back yet. I haven't had the no signal issues this past week, so that was good at least.
Go to the us honor beta group on Facebook. Chris is the admin. Talk to him. The guy has an out of state phone number so "David" is useless. And more than likely has NOTHING to do with honor USA
The Nougat rollback package is up on FF today/yesterday, so we might have a release soon?
Looks like Huawei/Honor services are totally out of the US. Judging from the "USA CMM", David Perez, which has a Mexico phone number and somewhat common name in Mexico. Also, the email addresses are from a customer service provider, does this mean that Huawei doesn't even have their own employees working in US/LATAM?
Just my thoughts, am I not seeing something clearly?

I guess you completely missed the part where I said to find Chris from honor USA on Facebook. Honor USA is a very small team. Never heard of the David guy so I could care less about him.

You can send it by mail, but repair will cost You.. or just hope that Oreo fixes this issue..otherwise the only solution left is to roll back to Android 6. Stock Android that is.. its sad, but it is what it is..
Yeah, I think the only US service center is in Texas.... Not super convenient.

Hello folks !!!
Today is an unfortunate day for me and I stupidly hard bricked my One S by updating over OTA with Supercid applied.
I have been told that the only way to revive phone back to life is the Jtag unbrick service. I searched online and found that mobiletechvideos.com provide that service from US , but for that I'd have to ship my phone there.
I would really appreciate if someone from India could point to me a reliable Jtag service provider in India. I stay in Pune , so would really appreciate if those are nearby in Pune or Mumbai.
Also If the process is not too complicated and can be performed at home , I'd realy appreciate if someone can guide me the link for a tutorial etc.
Thanks... really appreciate any help !!!
Problem Solved?
Hi,
I am exactly in the same position as yours.
Did you get your issue resolved in Pune? or anywhere in India?
If yes, from where?
Can you please share the contact?
I have also hard bricked my phone while updating my re-rooted HTC One X.
Well, I got the issue solved in Mumbai.
The guy takes a bit of time though.. I had my phone kept there for around 2 days.

Yes.
I had my phone rooted then tried to update to Jellybean but could not. then I had my phone unrooted and tried the update. After completion, my phone was hard bricked.
The only option was a Jtag.

Guys. After flashing wrong pit file my phone was dead. Took it to Samsung they said motherboard has to be replaced and it will cost 9.500 Indian rs. Which was too high for as a new Samsung with similar specs can be bought if u pay 5000 rs more. I took it to local repair shop in indraprasth borivali west near stn. Got a new motherboard fixed for 6000 Indian rs. Though close proximity function isn't working anymore. But arleast the phone is alive. Now using cyanfox Kitkat. Lol flashing will never stop.

So basically there is no hope for mm on h950 unless att release it or bootloader gets unlocked? Why can't other Flex2 model firmwares work?

The hardware is different on the H950. Its got 1GB more RAM for starters. There maybe differences with the radio and LTE bands due to it being an AT&T phone.

Good news folks, transcript from a live chat I had 2 minutes ago:
Lonnie: To get started, please provide me with your full name and mobile number.
Me: all i want to know is when does at&t lg flex 2 get marshmallow upgrade every other carrier in the world who sells flex 2 has marshmallow
Lonnie: I know how important it is to you that we resolve your issue today. Let’s work together to resolve it.
Lonnie: Unfortunately at tis time we have not announced a time or date.
Me: well can you find out for me if it is coming at all?
Lonnie: It will be before the end of the year.
Me: so you confirm model h950 at&t lg flex 2 will get marshmallow before 2017?
Lonnie: As of now its scheduled to be before end of year.
Me: ok thank you.
Lonnie: You are welcome
Hate to the bearer of bad news but I used to work for att in a call center. I initially did customer service, then tech support then chat. NO ONE in the call center knows anything about updates, new services or devices until that info is available to the general public. I'm not saying we won't have it by the end of the year but if we do whoever you chatted with had no way of knowing that for certain beforehand.

As for battery life on my 950, I have no issues, maybe you need a new battery? Maybe it's a placebo but I disabled mlt and I use the battery saver function and I noticed a significant increase in battery life

Ok Appleknight,
How do you disable MLT on a non rooted H950? I've tried all of the dialer codes to access the service menu but non seem to work for the H950. :crying:
When I also say bad battery, I'm comparing it to my previous LG G2 which has the same screen resolution (but a less efficient LCD,) and the same capacity battery. Under identical conditions, the GF2 would be dead when the G2 still has 30% in the bank.

Hi there. When I bought the phone I had the average of 6 hours of display. When I updated to Nougat the average went down to 4 hours and a half. In the last three days I'm doing at least 3 hours. What is happening to my phone?
Damn my honor 8 last about 5 or 6 hours in the nougat update
Try to update to the latest noughat via the FF and dload method
This should help you fix the battery drain
Or try to roll back to MM to see if the battery goes back to normal
That would be my advice
Maybe you should factory restore your honor 8
Now with the factory reset I'm up to the usual 4/ 4 and a half hours, but still far from the 6/7 hours of mm
Send us screen shots of your usage charts so we can help you.
Here it is
Actually I'm at 3h with 26% left
I noticed that the battery drop while using the phone is the same as on MM, but in stand by it goes down really fast.
You should try update your phone to the latest noughat

The B381 has the best battery life of all noughat versions
So yes, I do say
If you dont like it on noughat and dont want to update live with it
Or roll back to MM
If the update comes I will gladly install it, but I'm still waiting. Atm I did a calibration and farmer a day with 3 h of display I'm at the 27%
Best battery life you can get on MM.
But I recommend you to turn off Searching for Wifi and BT. You can do it long tap on GPS location, in the right corner 3 dots -> Search settings (or something like that) and turn off Search for Wifi and BT. I also disabled Link+ and Wi+Fi+.

But I think for manuall install first
Couse since yesterday FF is showing
new update B387 for the L09
And what update will be for your model I dont know
But there will be an update soon as it looks like
And one contact person from Huawei said also that there will be somethings happening regarding the xda - huawei partnership till end of May or early June
So definatly some things going to happen in the next few weeks
I wouldn't type these kind of messages, we can expect that Huawei will release some more updates, but it's not 100% confirmed. Half of users of H8 still doesn't receive update to Android 7... It's quite sad.
I'm just sharing the info I got from svetius
He is the one to be contacted for any questions about Huawei and XDA partnership
So I contacted him last week
And he said that he contacted his Huawei contact wich said to him that some thing are on track to happen end May or early June
So it is an info straight from Huawei given to XDA
So I wanted to share the info
Many of us are waiting for things to happen
Thats why I am typing such info to all of you

If you need that type of info, well... My crystal ball says to me- no updates for Honor 8 users... [emoji23]
First of all who said that my info is or must be official.. Second.. it is from Huawei to XDA..regarding the partnership..and it is official said ( from Huawei contact person ) to that one responsible in XDA regarding the whole partnership
So I want as many as possible on xda users to know it.. You will not get it on the news or Huawei online page .. you will be getting info this way.. to XDA community from Huawei contact persons .. And the last thing would be.. you say official.. so what does that mean for you.. the complete 100% thing wich will happen? No, evan official is to be taken with a pinch of salt.. aaand your cristal ball is not working correctly.. ?
no offense dude, but this post you wrote is totally piece of ****.

It seems there are two different updates (1004 and 1012). The update you received has 17Aug update and it seems to be the wrong update they had uploaded two few weeks ago (and it was removed). Nokia has screwed up again?

Have you finished that update? And how's the new one now?
Version 85.9.1124.31 is the old Pro Camera update, with a new version number. I think they pushed this update for rollback the camera to the consumers that update again to the broken version.
Version 90.9.1123.20 actually is the same with all feature broken (same version, same release date, same problems), but new UI and AR Stickers; 85 is the same of the system 8.1041.71 (maybe with pro mode gesture working in landscape? IDK).
They update the app by mistake again, but with a new description in the Play Store that says there are fixes for Nokia 8. We can only wait for the correct version.

Wtf how can they be so bad at updating software ? Seriously. They have almost NOTHING to do on their firmware, except their "support" app and their ****ty camera software.
They need to step up their game. I wonder how many people, if any, work at the software department.
I'm pretty happy with the N8, but I would have never kept it without GC' magic.

It's a mess on the N8. I kind of like mine, when it comes to hardware. But there's a lot of mistakes here and there. Missing bluetooth audio profiles, Glance being a complete mess the camera being pretty disappointing in both quality and features. For a device that's been out for a year now, it's a bit of a letdown and that's for 100% due to the software as the hardware is absolutely great. You'd expect a little more than this.
Hi all,
I think enough time has passed for those on EE to get an update, absolutely no sign whatsoever and not entirely sure where or who will be providing the update; has any one has success updating yet?
I'm currently on 9.5.1 and system updates fail constantly.
Is there an option to root and install a custom ROM?I'd rather do that then wait for EE/Oneplus.

Is there an option to root and install a custom ROM?I'd rather do that then wait for EE/Oneplus.

I have tweeted the same question and EE responded with "The updates will come from OnePlus". I think you can flash the regular OnePlus 7 Pro ROM on the 5G variant but I think 5G functionality will be lost.

I've just had a lengthy (about 1h30m) chat to OnePlus and they were totally useless. I saved the chat history as a lot of the things were basically - reboot the phone, wipe cache and then finally erase everything; although I knew these steps would not work and I explained I had already tried that I done it anyway just to satisfy his requests.
Afterwards he pretty much said "Ah well, nothing more we can do then"
I find it hard to believe that between EE and OnePlus no body has the answer?

Mines updated to 9.5.3 on release day 30/5/19 nothing since 4g up to 9.5.7 with camera improvements yet us mugs who bought the best one going getting left behind
Sooner the exclusive deal comes to an end the better
Upgrade it to a international model and ditch EE tweaked rom

Did you try the oxygen updater via playstore?

While that is a possibility, why pay more to have 5G when we'd be losing 5G functionality if we convert to an international model.

I'm still on 9.5.1 and it won't update to 9.5.3. I haven't tried the Oxygen updater; I'll give that a go!

I mean once the international 5g rom comes out you'll not lose anything then

Tried Oxygen updater and still no joy, unfortunately!
What does it say? Up to date or just update failing?.
Just failing still ?. Same error message as always
Seems to me that OnePlus has pulled the update for some reason.
Mine updated to 5.3 when I first set it up.
Not really had to many issues with mine, no ghost touches or anything. All I've had is the odd crash on nova launcher when exiting my banking app for some reason but other than that not much to complain about.
That being said I would like to see the camera updates that are being talked about in 5.7 as these are supposed to make a significant difference to the pictures.

Bloody strange... Surely if it's failing to update its defective.
I just find it hard to believe its a flagship device and know one knows what the hell is going on.

There are also people on the EE forums with the same problem.
I'm sure EE knows what's up here, but reaching the "right people" there is probably very hard.
It's a phone with essentially a "Beta" radio, using effectively "Beta towers", and I bet that they're gating the updates, carefully, based on that fact.
In time, I'm sure this will "smooth out", as 5G becomes a bit more proliferated, but right now, if you have a 5G phone, you're effectively a "Beta Tester", IMO, even IF the carrier doesn't "sell it" like that...
It's too bad they didn't abstract the builds a bit more, across the OP7, OP7 Pro (several variants), and the OP7 Pro 5G.
I bet OP will do some work here, as things evolve, to "limit" this issue. It's possible too, that they already did this, and EE "botched things", in terms of the carrier-development side, good luck figuring that out though, or getting anyone to admit it...
I returned my phone to EE as it wouldn't update (just said it was up to date, but on 9.1) and I started suffering numerous ghost touches and random crashes.
Unless Op / EE get this sorted, I suspect I'll go to 3 when they launch 5g in August

Yeah, it's a **** state of affairs. How long ago did you get the phone, on day of launch?
Oh, just as side note. I searched on Google for days for an answer and nothing came up. One search on Duck Duck Go and the second and 3rd post are full of people with the exact same problem.
Yes, I got mine on launch day. Gave it the befit of the doubt she allowed 3 days to get an update- nothing turned up and it was pretty un-useable due to the ghost touches.
That's when I told them to take it back
