Hello developers!
I was playing a game and browsing chrome (at the same time in split screen) and the phone battery died and the phone shut down immediately. I sometimes plug it in and keep playing and that's what i wanted to do this time hence i placed it in freezer for like 4-5 minutes to cool it down so i could plug in the charger and play. Once I booted it up, it started lagging a lot. NO APPS OPEN ANYMORE. Whichever app i open (except a few system apps which open), it gets stuck on blank white or black screen until i press the home button. It used to happen before, and uninstalling facebook app and facebook messenger worked. Is it really because i put it in freezer right after it shut down?

I'm hoping I can write this off entirely as an Opera Mobile bug/glitch, because *IF* I remember correctly this only happens with Opera Mobile open. But here's the issue:
Last night I was going between Opera Mobile, texting and finally, a 2.5 hour call. Needless to say, running on ~30% battery, it died. So I plugged it in and let it charge. Over the course of the next 1-2 hours I moved the phone and the charger all over the house. I went to bed but I wanted to check a couple forums first so I fired up Opera Mobile and started browsing. Well about 15 minutes later I wanted to check something from an earlier text so I pressed the 'Home' key and... nothing. All good, I thought, because this has happened a few different times where all I had to do was press 'Home' again and it went back to the main TF3D screen. So I pressed 'Home' again. Nothing. Again, nothing. So I tried the 'End' key, still nothing. It was at this point I took the phone off the charger and noticed that the white ring was still lit up and pulsing - like it does when it's charging. It wasn't completely frozen, the touch screen was still working. So I brought up the start menu and hit 'Today'. I then slid the keyboard out and it changed orientation fine. I hit 'Messages' and it lagged up so bad that when I clicked one of the conversations the loading icon appeared but was just still. I let it take it's time and eventually made it back to the 'Home' tab of TF3D. The last thing I did was to check how much memory (RAM) was being used and what was running. Oddly enough, I had 103 but not a single program was running. The thing is, I never closed Opera Mobile and when I went over to the 'Internet' tab and tried to launch Opera Mobile from there, it showed the green "selected" background but did NOTHING.
Any ideas on this? Like I said, this has ONLY happened when using Opera Mobile (if I remember correctly). Something else I should add... Yesterday I changed a couple settings in 'Advanced Config', light sensor, End key delay and G-Sensor polling rates. Do you think that having too high or low a light sensor threshold could mess with things laying in the dark? I'm going nuts with worry this morning and I want to make sure that it's not a phone/hardware issue.
Anyone have any stab in the dark as to what this could be?? I installed those ATI drivers and didn't like them and problems they caused so I went back to the backup key I had saved. Does this help or have anything to do with my situation?
Bump.
Quick update: I've been using Opera Mobile off and on today and no problems. Could it have been battery issues plus an OM bug? Or is that technically impossible?
Hi all,
I recently tried changing the wallpaper on my phone from a live background to regular image. The background went black and the phone froze.
I removed the battery and restarted the phone but it now often freezes on the LG logo. When it does occasionally start up the touch screen will not respond so I cannot get past my lock pattern. If I press the stand by button at the top of the phone, the screen goes off and cannot be turned on again, but the phone is still running - as I can tell this when connected to the computer.
I don't have my phone rooted and do not know much about that. I was hoping there was a way to fix this without having to lose all of my data or root/mod my phone. Otherwise I would be happy just to have my phone working.
Can anyone please help with this problem or tell me why the touch screen will not respond the times it does start up?
Cheers
UPDATE - I started the phone holding the volume button down and went into the recovery mode. I'm not sure exactly which option I then selected, as I hit the home key a couple of times, but I think it was "Clear cache and recovery" or something similar.
The phone managed to start back up with all my apps and photos, etc. Although I had to go through the startup wizard again and sign into the Market, LG World, etc.
Now I have a problem with quite a few of my apps. Whenever I click on them, they start very briefly and then I get the message "The application had stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" and have to force close. This happens with apps such as Adobe Reader, GTA 3 and Viber, so it's not a specific type of app.
I also noticed with the few apps that work, data is missing from some and not others. For example, I still have high scores in one game, but not in another.
Does anyone know what the problem is here or why this recovery is maybe causing this?
Thanks very much
Still haven't fixed this problem if anyone could please help. Most of the apps before the recovery still force close upon starting.
Some of these can be fixed temporarily by moving to phone/SD depending on location, but this only lasts for so long, before I have to move again. Others will open up each time as though it's the first opening of the app, e.g. Do you accept....
Apps downloaded after the recovery seem to work fine.
Any suggestions people?
I encountered my first problems with my Nexus 5, which i am very happy with, about 1-2 weeks ago. After about 11 months of happy, problem free use, without dropping it or anything else, it started misbehaving (about a month with Android L so far). It crashed and wouldn't start up farther than the 'android' screen most of the times. Rarely it would fully boot, but the seemed to go into the lock screen and crash after a max. time of about 1 Minute of normal use. After going through this a few times I checked some forums and found a solution suggesting to repeatitly press the lock screen button while it boots. This solution worked quite good, even though i had go through the process multiple time the following days.
Last thursday evening (today is saturday) though my phone crashed fully once more (just after checking and having an 80% charged battery) , but now the quick hits on the Power button did not work at all. Instead my phone wouldn't react at all. Neither pressing the volume rockers alone or together with the power button would work either. Having plugged in the Nexus though acheived it to at least reach a state which seems to be a more common problem. It has been discussed and solved for many (seemingly everyone) in another thread called '[Q] Nexus 5 constantly rebooting at 'Google' ' (Link to this at bottom). Long explanations and videos of the situation have been given here, depicting my exact situation along with two solutions:
1. Using magnets near the power button (to apparently loosen two magnets used when pressing the power button)
2. Two flick and quickly press the button (for some this had to be done many minutes)
After seeing many (surprisingly) positive reactions to both methods, I tried them myself. I began with the magnet method and without having it connected to a charger it would boot to the google screen twice (note: As said, without a charger nothing happened). First once about as long as when connected to power and once very briefly. This method didn't prevail more than once and i couldn't start it up any diffrently than before.
So next I tried the flicking method and (maybe because of the magnets) it booted al the way to the 4 colored dots flying around. I let go and it crashed once more. I fooled around with the magnets again and tried the flicking method again, without stopping, as other users mentioned a long time needed (15-30 Min.) and after about 20 Minutes I stopped. My Nexus did not crash, but it is now 'stuck' at the colored Dots. I have tried connecting it to a power outlet, my PC and again started pressing the power button and volume rockers, without effect. It has been so for about an hour if not more. I will try to drain the battery and then continue, but if any other solutions are known Please help, thank you!

Update
After having drained the battery completely and then charging it again, the normal 'charging battery' icon popped up. Trying to start the phone, however resulted in getting into the flying dots loop again... I am able to go into fastboot mode, but neither start or Power Off help the situation. Should I go into recovery mode? I would strongly dislike losing all my data....
(Update)
I tried going into recovery mode, but the only thing that happened was that a little android figure, lying down with a red exclamation mark showed up (which should be normal as I recall going into recovery mode before my problems), and a text saying 'no command' above it. What now? I'm all out of ideas and back up plans, except calling google as it should still be under my warranty. But I don't want to give up my data as I haven't saved anything and I don't want to give up my phone either.
I have a Nexus 5 hammerhead on the latest version of Magisk. Recently it "refreshed" itself, shutting down the screen and then opening it again very quickly. It was more an annoyance than anything, especially while looking at YouTube video, since it would pause the video each time. Now, the screen randomly shut down without it opening again. The phone does not shut down, as I still hear the game I was playing, for example, and it was still recognizing my touch input. The only way I found to open the screen again is to force shut down the phone and opening it again. Anyone had this issue, and maybe a fix for it?
Hi guys,
this morning i have a strange issue on my oneplus 7. The screen turned off, then it won't turn on again, the only thing on the screen was a little "pixel" flashing at the top center of the screen. I keept the power button pressed to turn off the phone, and after a bunch of seconds the screen turned back on (the phone was still on).
After that, i frequently see a flashing window that looks like a crash notification for some app, but it is so fast that i can not read what is related on... This window keeps popping out every few minutes (or seconds) but the phone seems working as alwatys. I've tried rebooting with no luck. There's no way to see some kind of log to check what app is crashing? The phone is consuming a lot of battery now (30% in the last 2h) and looks like Google Play Services has used almost 25% of battery.
