Fitbit Syncing without gps or internet connection. Or keeping data locally only. - Fitbit Watches

I have a Fitbit Blaze which isn't like the newer smarter watches with the newer fitbit os. Does anyone know of a way to go about these things. I"m on Resurrection Remix 6.1 or Oreo 8.1.
I just a few months ago completely ditched google and their "free and cool" services and gapps, for microg and nextcloud. For privacy. I first owned a knock off of a 39 dollar xiaomi mi band 2, which didn't require either, Still I'm working retail for the time being, I found a deal on the aging blaze. Instead of 199, I got it for either 69 or 79. A pretty good deal on a watch that does everything I need it to do. Now fitbit has all kinds of data on me as well as google. Is there anyway around this? I could fake the gps data but don't want to deal with the headache of doing it every time I want to sync.
Does anyone know of a good way around all the fitbit crap? Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Why buy an android phone?

I have my android ordered and arriving tomorrow at the store. I haven't paid yet, however I'm fully planning to. I would however like to know what the current users think about their phones. What do you like about it? Are there any good games for it? Can it do any crazy things? I am moving from a touch HD (I broke mine yesterday) to the magic. I'd like to hear some stories as to why it's a good move.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I've been having my phone for almost two weeks now, and I just got the time to do something with the phone, exams were taking up a lot of time and stuff like that.
But it seems like it is a super nice phone. New roms with altered content pop out all the time, new applications in the market are appearing rapidly. The community is also pretty big and it is fairly easy to get help with your phone. This is probably the best phone I have owned so far. You are able to do so much with it, a lot of costumisation and so on.
I inted to take a look at the API for the apps and start to make my own pretty soon, I am looking forward to that and to have my apps in the market and be used by other people.
I'd say get one. The only cons is the black Magic gets greasy a bit fast. The Hero might handle this better since it has a teflon coating.
The Google Ion I (bought it in early June) works great for me right now. It does what I need in a mobile device (emails - POP, IMAP, and Exchange, internet, fun apps, tethering, and etc). It's easier to flash so I could use different ROM's. The main thing is that it's an unlocked/unbranded 3G phone for T-Mobile US. We don't have that many here to chose in the US for T-Mobile customers (2 only - Google Ion & Pharos Traveler 137, a WM6.1 phone).

If you dont mind me asking... can you please let us know where you bought your Google Ion? Also does it work with the T-Mobile US 3G netowrk. I am looking to get one... I just sold me Touch HD and wanted to get the Rhodium (TP2), but Iam also interested in the Android device. Since the Hero does not work on the Tmobile bands, I would like to get the this one.. But Tmoble US is delaying the release. So looking at other options..
thanks for your help in advance.
I bought it on local craigslist and yes it works with T-Mobile 3G.

WM or Droid?WM fan needs help choosing new all around ppc

Hi,
I need help choosing a new PPC.
With Android available and WM seemingly not keeping up I am not sure I should stay devoted to WM.
I have been a WM user for years (Blackjack, Kaiser) and here's what I enjoy about the platform.
>Modification (Love to tweak reg etc)
>Exchange Sync (Calendar, notes, and contacts not email at this time)
>Apps (Bittorrent, good browser? I don't really care about flash but its fun to have )
>Office Mobile Pro (Is there a Open Office for Android or other *.doc *.xcl editors?)
Is Android an option for a universal user (business minded with pleasure added)
My criteria
I would prefer a hardware keyboard as I have never used anything else and think the switch to a touch screen keyboard would be painful as I enjoy the tactile feel of a button and a qwerty keyboard. Is the switch hard, does the onscreen keyboard minimize what you can see on the screen or other quirks or if I was at home would a blue-tooth keyboard be an option etc..?
Good Stereo BT (still stack issues? with both?)
Wifi
Wifi hot spot
4g (I live in Bethlehem/Allentown Pa 40 minutes north of philly and 50 minutes south of NYC, its not available yet but this area is stuck in the middle)
Carrier isn't an issue, I will go with any.
Cost is not an issue.
HTC fan but it doesn't really matter.
Gyro whats? d.n.a. or should it?
Gps? d.n.a
thanks for reading and hope you can help
Well you are in the middle of Verizon country. The X is looking pretty nifty as well as the Incredible. I am so far from my 2yr. (may 2011 ) But you can play with them for 30 days and decide.
good day.
Thank you for your reply.
I am a little confused on the being in Verizon country comment though since I just moved here so...
Special circumstances...
I work a 6 day week @ 65 hrs plus driving time + 6hrs (thats a bicycle actually) so my time is very limited and getting to a store is harder than it should and why I was asking for help and purchase something online instead making it very hard to return or physically try before.
I have a mini-laptop so maybe exchange sync isnt that important but not having a hardware keyboard does make a difference as well as moving to android, scary.

With all the traveling I have ever done on the east coast service was always better than my home town. Just always seemed to be VZW heavy in that part of the country.
I myself am going to wait to see how the WP7 pans out being a winmo guy myself.
First I would edit the title of your post to recommend a device or something to that nature.
Next check the sites of carriers for devices offered. I would find it real hard to get a device without having it in my hand. And speaking from experience any carrier's corporate locations are much better to deal with than an "authorized retailer".
Also THIS SITE has a lot of great videos and current device reviews.
good luck in the hunt.
good day.
Again Thank you, I don't know what happened to my title....
I bought my at&t tilt from just reading reviews and satisfied 100% percent with what I expected except its weight.
I am going to have great service from any company because where I live as I stated prior. Though my blackjacks radio was strong the phone wasn't very loud voice wise and both wm devices (the tilt) had a terrible time with my different stereo bluetooth headsets when it came to calls but music never had an issue.
I paid for allot of software for wm as well and hate to see them go to waste, (Resco explorer, yes I bought Opera mobile too pre beta/pre knowing about cooked roms...), but if droid can do the same with no need then it doesnt matter.
Keyboard and office Mobile and bluetooth are still an issue I have to consider with help hopefully.
Well I have been using a wm device since the 8125 and hve had most of the HTC wm phones available up to and including the tilt 2. Along the way I did see lots of growth and customization on this OS. we also saw improvements and new features along the way, however we also saw a lot of issues. With each new phone and or update to the OS I prayed that maybe they got this one right. I was almost always disappointed, sometimes things just would not work. Sure wm devices had the best feAtures but what good are they if they aren't reliable?
I spend months customizing my phones and you can do this on android, just not to the extent thAT you could with wm, But everything works.
I have had slide out keyboards for years, and tilting screens to boot, for the last 2 years or so, so I am still getting used to this on screen kb, but its easier than I thought it would be.
Also getting all of your outlook info synced with android is proving to not be straight forward. Not to mention all the calendar options seems a little confusing and lacking, but I just got my evo 2 weeks ago.
The gps and Google maps and navigation that were built into my phone seems much faster and accurate then my experience with past phones, I get a fix in less than one second everytime.
I wasn't going to let myself get talked into wm7, there's lots of reasons why it might be the worse wm to date, but all my info on wm7 is second hand. I loved my tilt 2, I never stopped customizing it and I still want to use it, but I am going to make my self forget about it and give this evo a shot, love the screen BTW.
On a side note, android doesn't seem to support Bluetooth keyboards wich is a huge setback for me. I'm on the road a lot too and I put a lot of effort into making my mobile devices replace my laptops.
Way off point, but I bet us power users users get more work done on these mobile devices than the averAge desktop user, and its kinda nice.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I see the droid 2 has a hardware qwerty keyboard...?
I am to tired to think after nearly 70 hr work weeks and trying to grasp each of these devices.. Reviewing allot of devices
On a side note I see the 2 year plan requirements, does that have to include the unlimited data, at&t screwed us on that one (Iphone users got theirs for $29 per month and all other smartphones were $10 bucks more) now they changed their data plans...

Why is this forum dead.. This phone is...

This phone is amazing. Very surprised by the poor sales of WP7? I mean why wouldn't anyone want it! Previous iOS and Android user. Love WP7... Don't think ill go back... Maybe EVO 3D just to stay on top of tech untill newer WP7 Sprint phone
I agree, Love WP7 despite the lack of Mango. I guess it's a multiple reason situation. Recent report of sales reps steering customers away from the OS. Users that can't live without tethering. Others who are addicted to customising WinMo who have transitioned to Android. Maybe some don't like the size, weight, keyboard. Doesn't help either that on Sprint we only have one choice so far. I like it so far that I am willing to wait it all out.
I like the phone too. However WP7 is just not functional enough for me. To be honest I bought the hardware only and I am trying to figure out a way to change the OS. I need a vpn client with certificate support, full exchange support and good JAVA. Unfortunately this device supports nothing out of the box. No VPN, no Exchange sync via wifi ... Just that the JAVA is native, but I do not need it as I cannot connect to my corp system without VPN.
Further music and videos are pain in the ars as the most common formats are not supported.
Please review my questions in the Android on HTC arrive thread in this section if you have some extensive knowledge and if you are willing to help me run something different on this device.
No idea, friend. I had to forgo 4G to get this phone but WP7 was so compelling that there are now 2 gleeful Arrive users in my household. We love these things to pieces and Mango is going to make them even more excellent. I can seriously say that MS has knocked it out of the park with this one and I stand behind the platform all the way.

Sorry drelisimo, but I think that you are mistaken. WP7 certainly does support exchange sync over Wifi. I have done it on 4 different WP7 devices MANY times.
I agree that java and VPN are another matter, but then if you had done your homework before buying the device, you wouldn't have had any nasty suprises.
As I said I bought hardware with the idea to tackle the OS later somehow. I did my homework and I am not surprized.
Anyway, would you please tell me how did you sync your exchange over wifi? It always tells me that I need my data connections to be turned on.
Thanks.
as stated, probably the largest reason Windows Phone 7 sales are so slow is because sales representatives aren't pushing the products.
an example article found here --> You Can't Buy A Windows Phone If They Won't Sell You One.

currently, there is a sales offer where i can get the 7 Pro for half the price, is it worth?

The only 2 things its missing is tethering and downloading files straight to the phone.
If I had these two features there would be no doubt that this phone was huge upgrade from the tp1
Hopefully we'll get tethering figured out in the next few weeks and hopefully someone smarter than me is working on a way to download files to the phone
(did that all the time with mp3s on my tp1)

I would say that the two biggest gaps are tethering and 3G-only. That being said, I love the device so much that I easily overlook those features.
I actually am fine with 3g. Almost everywhere I go has wifi. 4g kills battery life. 3g is pretty fast for most everything I do.
Mango will address every complaint I have, but until then, I am still a very happy camper.
I have not received the info, but after further research I just understood that I am asking stupid things.
Otherwise ... the phone is maybe the best piece of mobile hardware I have ever acquired.
Cheers.

[Q] OTA Blues, Ready For A New Direction, Seeking Advice

Hi. I currently use the Samsung Note 2 (Verizon). I have been very pleased with the phone. While I have intended to root the phone (have never rooted a phone before), I never seemed to have the time to sit down and do the required research before jumping into it. The phone is essential to my work, particularly Google Maps, and even more particularly the My Places feature of the previous version of Maps. As many of you may know, the recent OTA update has locked down boot loader security and has also forced users of the old version of Maps to upgrade to the new version. When it rains, it pours. As I understand it, there has not been a workaround discovered for this, and the Note II being an 'older' phone now, rooting and unlocking may be a longer wait than I am prepared for.
This has gotten me so angry and depressed, as I vitally need the old version of Maps for my work. I am disgusted with Google for forcing this change on me. If I could pay $100 for a safe and stable Maps app, I would not hesitate. Google's "free" app has driven most every competitor out of the market, so I really don't see an alternative to the old Google Maps.
I am considering just buying an unlocked Note III, as I am only one year into my contract. I am assuming that I could then root this and put a pre-4.3 stock ROM on it, and that by doing that, then I could have my old Maps back. What do you think? Is this silly? Is there a better way? Advice is much appreciated!
Thanks.

General Tethering Question

I have a few questions concerning tethering in general. I searched the forums and the majority are for specific phones or are years olds. I’m old school Android since the G1 (2 of them) but I can’t seem to find an answer. Google or here.
Why is RNDIS tethering so much faster than, wait for it, Apple Mobile Ethernet? Other than the difference in addresses I don’t see much difference. Had to download drivers for a fresh install of windows 7 and with no cable or internet, I always tether. I connected my girls LG android since I didn’t have the Apple drivers and the damn thing ran at 426Mbps vs 100Mbps for Apple. Why the huge difference ? We’re both on t-mobile with unlimited plans but until my jailbreak got screwed from a bad Cydia app I was able to hide all my tethering. Not anymore. I still have about 10 phones, 3 of them Android and a Nexus 7 Tablet.
Would running through a VPN hide it from TMO ? Mine or hers ? We each have a 7GB hotspot limit but with all the Chromcasting we do, it adds up. Over 50GB total data last month for me alone. The ol’ Lady won’t let me root her phone.
My next new phone will be another Android after this crap with iPhone, I’ve owned 3, but I’m just sick of the walled garden. The only reason I ever owned one was the jailbreak. Now that there hasn’t been a good one in over a year, I’m done.
I’m not a traitor, but I was looking for a new, challenge?!
When I get on the Androids, it’s like I’m home.
I have the FoxFi app saved, PDAnet, with about 1800 other APK’s but are there any better tethering apps out there ?
And a suggestion for a new top of the line phone ? I’m thinking a Sony but from what I’ve read, can be a pain to root. I know Samsung but I’ve owned 2 and would like a change.
Sorry for the long rant.
Really curious about the RNDIS thing.
Mods: please move if needed.
Thanks
