There are a lot of roms for the original Mix 2, but will it be the same for Mix 2S too and it's just too soon, or are there preconditions for the opposite?
We are just waiting for some source code release, then we will see some development

So Xiaomi did all that is needed, the problem is only snapdragon 845 source and right after that all the custom rom development is fully open for this phone, right?

Yes look at the Oneplus 6 forums same problem, only treble roms available atm.
The sources are pretty late with release of the 845 mostly is much earlier released.

And does this affect custom treble roms in any way? Does it mean that I won't be able to install some of them from Treble Rom thread?

No you can just install them. B is only used for live updates(using your device while the update installs)

Edit: no, 8.1 has no Treble enabled.
Hmm. I think that @hikari_calyx is working on something for BL unlock too.

Huawei add treble in unreleased beta oreo update. If Google not hit before it.
I hope Nokia add treble but it must do what Google say

Adding Treble is completely optional. And I doubt that Nokia will add it because they obviously do not want people to modify their phones.

Nokia 5, 6 (2017) and 8 lacks vendor partition, that's why there's no Treble Support.
But Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco support Treble.
Now that the S*+ is going to get Oreo and treble what does this mean for the future of ROM development? Will there be an explosion of AOSP ROMs available for our phones? Will it change the need to unlock and root to flash?

No it said that as of the beta it doesn't. Not that it isn't going to get it.

And moving to it would involve essentially what is a rewrite of SE9 for the s8 and require a data wipe. There is absolutely no way samsung is going to take the time to migrate these phones twice. If they were going to do it all they would have delayed the release (significantly).
Project treble may never come to S8+ as it's not required that Samsung make it for s8+. Rest we wait and watch.
Does view 10 support project treble? If it does will it receive updates faster?
It should support Project Treble as it is must have for phones launched with Oreo. Updates, not sure though.
Yes it does support treble..

Nope.. project treble is just a thing for speeding up process of software updates by separating vendor and OEM as in partition for vendor... So OEM "can" directly provide update without waiting for vendor driver codes. But this "can" is totally depend on OEM ... If they want or not to provide updates??? except google and xiaomi not many OEM provide update to devices older than 2 years.
But if honor view 10 made properly open sourced, then at least this device can receive XDA devs support for next 4 years???

Lol, that's amusing... Just look at the Honor 8 and rest of the line up that receive one major update then are done.
Honor has already released sources for view 10.
It is just matter of the time to get AoSP and LOS based roms.
Once we get to stable custom roms, then Dev's can able to port future android releases easily because of this Treble.
Is there any chance for this phone to get an official custom version of android?
Like PixelExperience, Paranoid or Lineage OS
Since the phone is alrd more than 1 year old, and i would like to keep it for a long time
Look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...eageos-17-1-beta0-s10e-update-t4076585/page92
There are more custom roms in the same thread.

SD bootloader cannot be unlocked, so no custom roms have been developed for the s10e with SD as far as I know.
Hey. For everybody out there trying to build a TWRP recovery, the kernel for KIEV has officially been released.

Well first we have to have a reliable stable TWRP. I'm not a developer, I'm literally a hobbyist that took some initiative to spark some activity on our variant. Normally my area of expertise is writing tutorials and making flashable stock roms. Even that has slowed since Android 10 is an entirely harder and different beast than Oreo and later.
Once TWRP comes I'm sure there will be the porting madness you're waiting on.
