Hard Bricked Note Edge n915p | Still Need Help - Note Edge Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Long story short, just got this Galaxy Note Edge from a family member. It still had the Samsung activation lock on it and me- too lazy to call and ask for the account info (and thinking I'm some master hacker) - bypassed the setup screen and added my Samsung and google account to the device. When I restarted it, the "outro" logos showed, then the screen went dark and- nothing happened. It was supposed to boot back up, but it didn't. I waited a few minutes in agony before pulling out the battery and trying to turn it on. Nothing happed. No usual vibration, and no battery charging screen when I plug it into my computer. Windows does recognize that it is plugged in though. It chimes when I plug/unplug it, but it says "last USB device not recognized" after I plug it in. Device manager sees it as "Unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed)". Not sure what else to do, and there's not much info out there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated- even if I have to flash it somehow, I'm open.
Thank you!
~ Purplepigfarm

Update:
I plugged in the phone, went into device manager and deleted the phone's unknown driver. After that, I downloaded the QUALCOMM drivers. After reboot, I can plug in the phone and it will come in the ports section as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM7)"
I've been researching for hours and hours. I can't find a single post for my device exactly. It's a galaxy note edge from sprint (sm-n915p).
I've tried booting with the micro-usb, but every time I "burn" the .img with rufus or win32disk, I'm out of luck again. I'm sure that I'm not even using the right images anyway- I can only find stuff for note 3's and 4's.
Just to re-clarify where I'm at, the phone is definitely hard bricked, it will not boot into download mode or recovery mode, but it is showing up in windows as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM7)"
If anyone has any clue or any ideas that could point me in the right direction, I would be eternally grateful!

I now bow my head in defeat.
I bought a usb jig on aliexpress for $0.80 cents and that didn't work (worked for my working s3, so it's pretty pointless unless your buttons don't work). I keep coming across this post, (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69194863&postcount=14) but I just can't get that to work either.
Right now I'm at the point of just waiting for some cheap broken note edge on ebay to part out the motherboard.
That said though, please let me know if there are any new developments for booting off the micro sd. It could take quite a while before parts get cheap enough. Thanks.

There are cheap Note edges with broken screens on eBay.
Can you try if you can boot it using the recovery key combinations.

N5 dead after logicboard "swapout"

Hello,
so here's what happened: I got a fully working N5 with 16GB and a 32GB version which has a broken screen.
Today I tried to replace the logicboard of the 16GB version with the one built into the 32GB one.
The phone didn't start up, neither it reacted to getting plugged into a charger (usb pc & wallcharger both didn't do anything).
I came to the conclusion that the logicboard of my 32GB N5 must be broken aswell, so I put the original 16GB logicboard back in.
The phone booted up normally when all of the sudden it just turned itself off after 5 minutes.
Since then it doesn't start up anymore. Having it plugged in into the charger doesn't do anything either.
I've already tried to get it into bootloader etc but nothing works.
The phone simply doesn't turn on anymore.
When I had it plugged in on my pc I once got a NON-flashing red light, but it seems like I can't reproduce this.
Any ideas?
It would be nice if there is anybody who could help me with my problem.
Swapping the logic board shouldn't prevent the v phone from booting unless something happened during the swap process.
When connect to a windows computer, do you see anything about qhusb load in device manager?

After holding the powerbutton + vol up + vol down "QHSUSB_BULK" popped up
That type of "device" is an indication of a hard brick. Disconnect and reconnect without touching anything on the phone. If you see something similar with 9008 in the device name, it could be a soft brick.
After installing a driver it showed up as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008. Followed a tutorial using "BoardDiag" to unbrick the device. unfortunately the device remains "dead", no sign of life
:crying:
After having it appear as a "...9008" in your computer, disconnect it from the computer and leave it alone for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, try and boot to the bootloader.

Refurbished G4 won't boot, won't charge

I bought an LG G4 H810 from a 3rd party seller on newegg.com just over a month ago. It was working normally since I got it until 2 days ago when the screen went dark while I was using it. After this I couldn't get the screen to come back on, and couldn't get any sign of life from it at all. Plugging it into a charger seems to do nothing, with or without a battery installed. Holding the power button for 30+ seconds also does nothing. When I plug it into my Windows 10 PC without the battery in, I get a "connected device" sound within about a second and Device Manager shows "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM5)." This goes away when I unplug it, and I get the "disconnected device" sound. If I plug it in with the battery installed, the "connected device" sound happens after 10 or so seconds and Device Manager instead shows "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)." In either case, it does not appear under "This PC" on Windows Explorer. It did when before it died.
When I got the phone I rooted it and discovered that there's no established way on the forums here to install a custom rom without losing network functionality. I instantly regretted getting the AT&T version, as I have Ting, which uses T-Mobile's network anyway. I had to follow instructions on Ting.com just to get data working with the network. I now regret buying a refurbished phone through newegg without buying an extended warranty.
It would be great if there's some way to get this phone working again, but failing that, I'd love to be able to recover the data on the device. I haven't been able to find much on what might be wrong, but almost all searches lead me to a boot loop problem, which I don't seem to be having. I get no signs of life from the phone at all (no screen, lights, sounds, or vibrations). I might try getting a new battery, but I don't expect that to help because before the phone died, the screen would come on when I plugged it in without a battery (indicating the lack of battery). Now there is nothing.
UPDATE: The seller agreed to refund the purchase price if I send it back, so I that's what I did. I thought I was stuck with this brick.

The strangest issue I have seen with a Samsung Phone. Help appreciated!

Hey all,
This is a bit of a tough one.
I do quite a bit of phone repairs and I have my own little setup for everything and etc.
I got a Samsung S6 (SM-G920P) from my local market and it had an FRP lock - which is nothing for the most part.
Not thinking correctly, I just went to my Samsung Firmware, opened an XSA ROM for 6.0.1 and connected the phone via USB and went to flash. Fail. OK why did it fail?
AH - Because I am not using the right firmware for this (Thus I was getting the custom binary blocked message).
So I downloaded a 5.1.1 ROM and 6.0.1 ROM for the G920P and began to start the process again.
Put the phone in download mode and connected it to the PC, but I got "USB Device not recognized".
I thought it was a one off problem and reconnected it and it was all good. Loaded the 6.0.1 ROM and started flashing.
Completed successfully, no problems at all.
So then trying to do the FRP bypass with an OTG USB - I found it wasn't detecting it.
Thought, well, why not go down to 5.1.1 and make my way back up.
Connected the USB Cable and nothing. Tried again. Nothing. Tried another 5 or 6 times and eventually it appeared in Odin.
Started the flashing process and half way through it, the phone disconnected and now I have the "Connect to Smart Switch" screen on the phone and now any PC with all sorts of different cables will not detect the phone at all.
However - there is still power going to the phone as it's able to charge via USB Cable with no problem at all.
Next step - I took the phone apart so I could get a look inside to see if there may have been water damage etc.
Perfectly clean inside the phone. All flex connectors are fine, no corrosion and the WDI has not been affected.
Took a lot at the USB port and it's fine. All 5 pins are present and no damage is done. Soldering *looks* OK on the PCB, but it looks secure and the phone gets power no problems, so I am at a point where I am looking at this thing going what happened?
The OTG USB I tried in a Galaxy S7 and a Nexus 5X and both came up no problems.
All my cables I have are of decent quality (I assume so :/) and work with every other device tested.
I reseated the Flex Cable inside the phone for the charging port PCB and that hasn't improved anything.
Tried different computers etc.
Tried it with Smart Switch - doesn't detect and reinstalling Device Drivers didn't work.
I don't want to take the LCD off because it's working perfectly and I don't want to break it (You all know how fragile these screens are) - because I would replace the whole charging port assembly PCB - but this is why I am here asking to see if anyone else has experienced such a weird issue and can maybe provide some sort of an explanation into what exactly might be causing the issue.
And I was going to say would heating the phone up cause any issues with soldering, but I used about 30-45 seconds of heat to the back and the back glass came off fine. My thought that I may have damaged the port with heat is probably unlikely.
I don't know guys, the phone is still on and I have put it in Download Mode as well as left it in the Smart Switch screen and tried over and over and it's just getting power and not data (COM port in Odin).
I can post some pictures of the Micro USB port, the PCB etc if need be.
If someone has a solution, I swear I will buy you a beer!
Thanks heaps!

Not a thing under devices, removable our otherwise
You said that it won't power on? Correct? "No power on".. I'm assuming that's what you meant.
If that's the case, it's obvious why nothing shows up when you connect to the computer. I mean, it sounds like you have a fried unit.
I'm not even sure how you could do that in twrp. Lol.
The only phone I've ever had that wouldn't power on, was due to water damage (sweat damage actually). Which I'm still fired up about. I had a pixel 3a. Just 6 months old. Had a case on it.. was walking and talking to my niece, and pouring sweat as I walked/hiked. We hung up, and I noticed I had phantom touches all over the screen. I wiped the phone down, powered it down, sat it in rice for 12 hours. Turned it back on, and it was worse than before. So many phantom touches that I couldnt even power it down. Then volume down and power wouldn't take me to recovery so I could power it off.
I literally just had to sit there for 2 hours as it fried itself alive from water damage. Next morning, I noticed no warming on quick charge. No screen paper. No vibe on startup. Plugged into laptop, nothing registered.
It wasn't bricked. It was gone.
I know it's not a waterproofed phone. But sweat? Destroying a $400 phone? Give me an effin break.
Luckily, I pay my verizon bill with mastercard.. and all mastercard users (even debit cards) have phone insurance built into it. I called them, submitted the paperwork. (Copy of phone bill, copy of bank statement showing I used the mastercard, and a copy of the estimate showing it was a total loss. $349). The deductible was $50.. so 4 business days later, they deposited $299.99 in my account. And I bought the g stylus with it. And when I went to Walmart to buy it, it wouldn't ring up. It was supposed to be $299.99. I found a price match of $249.99. and when he was trying to ring it u, it wouldn't show up on their system. They did a search for it on their website, and he didn't know the difference between a g stylus and a g fast. I got it for $129.99. unlocked. (Was $179.99 on the website, and I had found a 50 off price match for the 299 priced phone earlier, so they gave me the 50 off 179.99. so needless to say -- I got a heckuva deal.
The g stylus is basically a pixel 3a. Except a bigger screen, better battery, and a stylus. The 665 actually performs better on multi ore than the 670 does. Because the 665 has 4 cores at 2ghz, rather than just 2 like the pixel. And the gpu is over closed to almost 1ghz on this phone. So no complaints other than picture quality. The pixel 3a is among the best camera phones ever made to this day. But with the g stylus, running a heavily tweaked and microtuned gcam mod.. its not a huge huge difference unless you are zoomed in. Then it's obvious.
It's possible you tried to boot into a different slot. Hold power and volume down until the phone boots into recovery. Unless you deleted the recovery image, it should still boot into recovery. From recovery you can flash a fresh install of Android or attempt to boot into twrp. I.e. "fastboot boot c:/'location-of-twrp.img'" as to attempt to boot into slot a. I had the same problem and just installed Android one from lollinets site. The variant of Android 11 that works for our metro moto g pro is "11 rprs31.q4u-20-28".
Volume up and power should take you to fastbootd. If hard ware keys aren't working it's either a dead battery or hard bricked. In which case, be careful with the next one.

I have similar issue. When i connect to charger the white led flashes for exactly one minute then stops. Plug to computer i get nothing. Installed qualcomm drivers still nothing. Tried edl cord no change.
Im not sure what caused this. I was going to root so i unlocked bootloader. Flashed cwm. After flashing cwm its had errors mounting a couple partions. I powerd off and started digging here and on google, found couple options to try. When i tried to power up it was dead. No responce, no conection to computer... just one min of flashing led when i plug into wall charger. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Can you hard reset into recovery
If not does adb recognize your device
If it does you can always force boot twrp from debug

I did exactly this. But I get no flashing LED when I plug into wall charger.
I've tried holding vol down + power for 20+ seconds, nothing.
I've tried holding vol up + power for 20+ seconds, nothing.
When I connect to my computer I no longer see the 9008 in device manager.

Black screened Pixel 3.

Hi - wondered if anyone can help.
As above ive got a blackscreened phone - ive got cart blanche with this phone...(its a workmates phone, hes bought a new one) so i can do anything i want (if anyones got any drastic options im up for that!). Apparently the history is that the phone was behaving as if the battery was faulty to the point it died. Ive replaced the battery but the phone is still dead. Plugging the phone in the laptop i see the bulk usb driver popping up. Some time ago i did recover a oneplus phone in the same state using a gui tool that reloaded the image back on loading on the separate images one by one....can something like that be done for this.
Cheers to anyone that has a go!

If by "bulk usb driver" you mean QUSB_BULK_CID:xxxx_SN:xxxxxxxx, the phone has an unrecoverable hardware failure. See the thread below.
