Not a thing under devices, removable our otherwise
You said that it won't power on? Correct? "No power on".. I'm assuming that's what you meant.
If that's the case, it's obvious why nothing shows up when you connect to the computer. I mean, it sounds like you have a fried unit.
I'm not even sure how you could do that in twrp. Lol.
The only phone I've ever had that wouldn't power on, was due to water damage (sweat damage actually). Which I'm still fired up about. I had a pixel 3a. Just 6 months old. Had a case on it.. was walking and talking to my niece, and pouring sweat as I walked/hiked. We hung up, and I noticed I had phantom touches all over the screen. I wiped the phone down, powered it down, sat it in rice for 12 hours. Turned it back on, and it was worse than before. So many phantom touches that I couldnt even power it down. Then volume down and power wouldn't take me to recovery so I could power it off.
I literally just had to sit there for 2 hours as it fried itself alive from water damage. Next morning, I noticed no warming on quick charge. No screen paper. No vibe on startup. Plugged into laptop, nothing registered.
It wasn't bricked. It was gone.
I know it's not a waterproofed phone. But sweat? Destroying a $400 phone? Give me an effin break.
Luckily, I pay my verizon bill with mastercard.. and all mastercard users (even debit cards) have phone insurance built into it. I called them, submitted the paperwork. (Copy of phone bill, copy of bank statement showing I used the mastercard, and a copy of the estimate showing it was a total loss. $349). The deductible was $50.. so 4 business days later, they deposited $299.99 in my account. And I bought the g stylus with it. And when I went to Walmart to buy it, it wouldn't ring up. It was supposed to be $299.99. I found a price match of $249.99. and when he was trying to ring it u, it wouldn't show up on their system. They did a search for it on their website, and he didn't know the difference between a g stylus and a g fast. I got it for $129.99. unlocked. (Was $179.99 on the website, and I had found a 50 off price match for the 299 priced phone earlier, so they gave me the 50 off 179.99. so needless to say -- I got a heckuva deal.
The g stylus is basically a pixel 3a. Except a bigger screen, better battery, and a stylus. The 665 actually performs better on multi ore than the 670 does. Because the 665 has 4 cores at 2ghz, rather than just 2 like the pixel. And the gpu is over closed to almost 1ghz on this phone. So no complaints other than picture quality. The pixel 3a is among the best camera phones ever made to this day. But with the g stylus, running a heavily tweaked and microtuned gcam mod.. its not a huge huge difference unless you are zoomed in. Then it's obvious.
It's possible you tried to boot into a different slot. Hold power and volume down until the phone boots into recovery. Unless you deleted the recovery image, it should still boot into recovery. From recovery you can flash a fresh install of Android or attempt to boot into twrp. I.e. "fastboot boot c:/'location-of-twrp.img'" as to attempt to boot into slot a. I had the same problem and just installed Android one from lollinets site. The variant of Android 11 that works for our metro moto g pro is "11 rprs31.q4u-20-28".
Volume up and power should take you to fastbootd. If hard ware keys aren't working it's either a dead battery or hard bricked. In which case, be careful with the next one.

I have similar issue. When i connect to charger the white led flashes for exactly one minute then stops. Plug to computer i get nothing. Installed qualcomm drivers still nothing. Tried edl cord no change.
Im not sure what caused this. I was going to root so i unlocked bootloader. Flashed cwm. After flashing cwm its had errors mounting a couple partions. I powerd off and started digging here and on google, found couple options to try. When i tried to power up it was dead. No responce, no conection to computer... just one min of flashing led when i plug into wall charger. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Can you hard reset into recovery
If not does adb recognize your device
If it does you can always force boot twrp from debug

I did exactly this. But I get no flashing LED when I plug into wall charger.
I've tried holding vol down + power for 20+ seconds, nothing.
I've tried holding vol up + power for 20+ seconds, nothing.
When I connect to my computer I no longer see the 9008 in device manager.

Soo.. I overclocked my G2x at 1.2 GHZ running Eaglesblood 4.0.1. A few days later I was charging my phone and it got SUPER hot around the mainboard (the top area). Shortly after it was thrown in a pile of clothes and the battery popped out (oops). It won't turn on now. It recognizes the android recovery on the computer (pwr + up/dwn vol buttons) and I can flash recovery on it but it wont boot up. When i hooked it up to a charger (a wii) it displays the LG logo for about 5 seconds then the touch buttons lights up then it resets. Before today it would only display the LG logo for about .2 seconds then turn off (only when plugged into a computer).
What should I do? Could it be the battery, or did it overheat? Now, what should I do? Should I send in it for warranty (It had problems before anyways) and risk them being able to boot it and see that I OCd and rooted it?
Any help appreciated... Thanks

If you don't mind losing your internal sd card data you can try this and then flash the rom again to see if it fixes it.

I tried that (Thanks btw!). It formatted everything and sent the files over but it still does the same exact thing.
If I can't put a rom on it will they know I formatted everything? If so, will that void the warranty?

It seems like you have a stuck vol- button. Can you take a look and try tapping it lightly to see if it would release.
Don't know if they would if you have standard recovery... If you made a nandroid backup I can tell you how to push that... Then they should not be able to tell anything... Otherwise I think cwm is a dead giveaway

Yes, I forgot about cwm. I can flash stock t-mo recovery on before I send it in. How would I go about pushing a stock rom onto it?
Also, I don't think I have a stuck vol- button. I've messed with it countless times. I suppose I could take the phone apart and see if it's really stuck. Do you have any other advice? As of now the phone only turns on (it displays the LG screen but after about 5 seconds the logo disappears and the touch buttons at the bottom flash and it repeats. ONLY while plugged into a power source, though)
@zlopp - thanks!

You can use the reference link in the batch cleanup op. That one pushes stock 2.3.3. I don't think it is rooted either.
Does your phone boot loop or does it boot back into recovery?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA
bootloop. I can't get it to go into recovery. It won't bootloop, or boot at all, unless plugged into a power source. Does that sound like possibly a failed battery? It was taking forever to charge and whatnot a few weeks prior..
Unplug the phone. Plug it into the wall. Hold the battery in the socket, but dont let it touch the copper conntectors. Turn the phone one. It'll show the lg screen. Before it turns itself off, plug the battery in.
let it charge for $15 mins and redo CWM recovery again.
6 month ago one of my friend g2x fried up the main boardduring charge, I have to paid $100 for broken phone to get the main board replaced

I can't believe it but it worked! However, once I flashed a rom and loaded it started giving problems. The battery indicator said 999% and the mainboard began getting a lot warmer than usual. Then it shut off. I turned it back on and the LG logo came up for 1 second then the screen flashed (A brief flash full of what looks like artifacts if a videocard were to fry) and it repeated the cycle. It looks like im sending this POS back to t-mobile

No problem. I was pulling my hair out when my phone did it too. It took a lot of experimentation to figure it out!
Now, onto the next problem. I suggest you run the g2x nullifier script to clean out anything on the rom. It might be messing with the phone. Then flash something known to be stable!
My phone also did the 999% thing. It was messing up a lot too, but the nullifier fixed it. Try it out

Spend the extra 20 bucks. lol It might matter or it might not. You don't wanna be the one that finds out it mattered though. lol
I would trust mobile techvideos over anyone on ebay. They have a stellar rep.

Hey there, Today my phone got stuck in a bootloop where the screen was black and there was an intermittent vibration. I couldn't get out of this bootloop at all. I tried getting into recovery mode, download mode, using Odin, holding down power for more than 20 seconds, removing the battery for 10 minutes, etc. Anyway, I figured, there has to be a solution without having to take apart my phone and trying to use JTAG, Geez! ANyway, I decided to try pressing the power and volume buttons in different combinations with and without the battery, and while being connected or disconnected to the PC. OK to make a long story short, here is the combination.
Plug USB into computer ( I used win7) without connecting it to your skyrocket.
Remove the battery from your phone.
Insert the Data cable into your phone without the battery.
Install battery and quickly press both the volume up/down button and the power button repeatedly (about 5-10 times) Basically press and release both sides at the same time over and over again until your skyrocket pops out of a bootloop. It took me only 5 presses.
I'm not saying this will work for everyone, but it worked for me. Due to the fact that this happened on a whim, I can't test it out to make sure the steps are just right. Whoever tries this, take note of the steps.
I hope this helps you guys out. Cheers.

what you have sir is a stuck power button, by repeadetly pressing the power button you momentarily "unstuck" the button, it can stay unstuck like that or it can become "sticky" once again, more info on that in the 1stop sticky

uhhhh, another person who is slightly misinformed. a boot loop doesn't equal JTAG. if your phone turns on AT ALL u should be able to recover it and get it working. JTAG is required for a brick, and like its name implies, a brick is just that. A phone that does absolutely nothing but sit there. No display, no sound, no vibrate, nuthin

Nothing. Happens it don't light up or power on at all. It is not reconized on computer either. It's hard bricked.
Make sure the Battery is charging...
How can I make sure the battery is charging when no lights come on at all? All I do know is I had it plugged in for a while yesterday and it got really warm. But no lights whatsoever. The screen doesn't light up at all neither does the led.
??????
There are no notification lights on the D720, but when you plug it in with a charger, you should see a battery bar on the display.
Other than that, you are probably right about hard-brick.
I, luckily, never had a "brick" on the Nexus S, so someone else with experience may wanna chime in. But Google and YouTube are your friends.

Please help me, i have the same problem
been awhile since any action here. saved mine with JIG method once but this time it won't work ??!(why) , in search of a solution again! -> hardbrick #2 on this device!
You guys can try a USB Jig. If that does not help, I think JTAG is what you need.
Jesus... just to revive this thread (and this concept of hard bricking), I think I just accidentally bricked mine as well.
Here's exactly what I did:
One moment, it was working spectacularly - fully stock, but unlocked. I had just listed it on eBay, too.
So I ran a factory reset on it (from the Settings menu), also "erase USB storage".
Then, after it shut down for the reboot, I pulled the battery.
...
That was it. Now it doesn't turn on for anything whatsoever. No device detected on USB when plugged into PC. Remove, replace battery, hold VolUp+Power, nothing. Plug into power adapter, nothing. Nothing at all.
But the back does get lukewarm after a minute or so, as if it's alive in the head but frozen, unable to start the bootloader.
WTF? I also have 2 more of these Nexus S 4G's, and both of them seem to have Flash storage chips that exhibit the same behavior when their chips are placed in (this) working motherboard. They can't boot. When I try to "hot-flash" it by booting the bootloader then swapping the Flash chips, they can't flash anything (this is probably to be expected). So, if I can get my ONCE-WORKING phone back to life, there's a good chance I can get another working as well (one just has a cracked glass, otherwise working mainboard & peripherals).
It's old, yes, but it's a damn shame to E-waste these things for a stupid software problem like this!
was running a solid PA 5.0 Rom then My screen broke about a month ago so I broke out one of my cheap $30 Wal-Mart phones until I decided what to do with it. Finally decided to get a screen + digitizer kit, replaced it all no problem went to turn it on and had a red light blink for a few seconds and then nothing. . Tried all volume & power button combos but no dice. Been trying and googling for days now. I can plug my phone into a pc and get it into adb fastboot mode by holding vol- and power button sometimes it gets recognized a mtp usb device but wont install any drivers and if I hold all three buttons it shows up as qhusb_bulk but it still won't boot up normally tho and nothing displaying in the screen. bought it from swappa over a year ago so the warranty is probably up. any suggestions?
qhusb is a brick. Try and follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/fix-unbrick-nexus-5-stucked-qualcomm-hs-t3043301
I had the same thing. Phone in a drawer and red light fluttered then that was that. I put a new battery in.
As you probably know when the battery dies there its in fact 10% left for boot up. In my case it had gone to zero so there was nothing to power the charging circuits etc. Worked for me. I found a way to charge the other later and it's a spare

Thinking this is odd I tried rebooting it but every single button is unresponsive. I tried holding the power button down for around 30 secs, nothing.
My wife wakes up wondering what I'm doing then tells me her phone updated around 11am that day.
So it appears the ASUS pushed update has potentially stuffed her phone?
Her phone is a totally stock ASUS Zenfone 6.
Ideas on fixing? What has happened?
Cheers.
Homer
EDIT: Now DEAD
Did you try power + vol up + vol down for about 30secs?

Yes.
I waited for the battery to die and after charging the phone powered up. It lasted 12 hours before suddenly shutting itself down when the wife was changing settings to pull the time from the network.
Now dead as a brick. Charge light no longer lights. Totally unresponsive. No amount of power button/volume button combination or time will do anything to make it work again.
Pretty pissed off as it's 1 year and 16 days old and has already been sent back to ASUS to have the charge port fixed after it stopped working.
I do not know what to do now except push for a repair under warranty.
As a last resort you could try this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-6-2019/how-to/guide-unbricking-zs630kl-t3998767
If that does not work I guess warranty would be the only option left.
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately the phone is totally unresponsive so I have no idea how steps involving any sort of power up can work.
PC also doesn't recognize the phone when plugged in to the USB port.
Could the USB power board have failed again?
If pc can't recognize the phone, you ran out of options. Anyway check device manager on windows just to be sure that it is not recognized as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" device at your Windows devices'. The proper guide to try to fix your state is this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-6-2019/how-to/qdloader-brick-t3980165

Nope nothing showing. Completely stuffed which is why I'm wondering if it's actually the USB power board again or if it's the main motherboard.

There have been issues with few units doing bootloops and not recovering; and Asus had acknowledged it as motherboard issue with the few early units that were made. You could get it to a service centre and get a free motherboard replacement.
Thank you @homerlovesbeer for your description. Very similar to my phone which is now also dead as a brick:
Recover files from bootlooping Zenfone6
Dear all, from the occasional reboot my Zenfone performed every now in a while (which didn't bother me too much) it now reboots so fast that it usually has not yet booted to the point where I could get data off the device before it reboots...

Will send it to repair. I bought it 10 months ago.
EDIT: Small correction: Pressing all 4 buttons while it was plugged to a PC, the charging light lit up for perhaps 20 seconds. Unfortunately not reproducible.

I'd love to however I'm in Australia and their isn't an ASUS mobile service centre in this country. I've tried reaching out to Taiwan but the language barrier makes it hard.
No joy so far.
I will RMA mine tomorrow. We'll see how it goes. Except for that issue, I really like the device.
