Anyone having any issues with this phone and android auto. The phone connects but I get a black screen on the card screen. When it does show correctly it's super laggy. Running xXx rom 2.1. fine using note 8 stock
Have you reported it in xxx thread? Could be an issue there.
What i did find with stock was if you enable the hide notch feature it played havoc with my AA. Disabling hide notch and AA worked fine. This was in 5.1.6, not sure if it was fixed since.
Wxact opposite for me. I was using an S9+ prior and P2XL before that and the +6 has been the most stable experience in Android Auto of them all. Been quite happy with it.

Are you running a custom ROMs? Are you using the stick cable too?
Android Auto is running great here. Use it everyday. Stock firmware with flash kernel and Magisk. I use a oneplus cable to connect.

Hello, i got a little question, what is the best option for the Oneplus 6, stay on OOS or install a custom rom ?
My last phone was a Nexus 6P and i always run it on a custom rom but i don't what option can be better for OP6.
What you do whit your phone ?
Thanks for reply !
Try them both out and see which you like better. I've had my OP6 for a few weeks now, stock rooted and I'm loving it.
I tried few custom roms, usually on every phone i do. But now i returned to OOS, feels much better to me.
Same here rooted stock OOS
Rooted OOS. I've tried LOS, Havoc, Liquid Remix- always end up reflashing OOS
I am also previous Nexus 5x user. Going to flash pixel experience rom soon. Would update you about my experience.

Hey can you post back here after?
I had a really great time using Omnirom, super smooth and lightning fast. Can't remember what made me go back to OOS, but I think I had 2-3 hickups, tho I believe those were gapps related.. OOS is just so damn good to be honest, running it + radioactive kernel at this point.
Definitely OOS especially for the battery life.
Oos had everything i need and more than other custom roms (gaming mode, alarm with phone wake ecc), i've tried all the custom roms but i always end to flash back the oos.. for me it's better, but you need to try roms first to say what is better for you

I actually was on the pixel experience rom for a few days. It's a great rom, very well done, and no doubt one of the better alternatives. However, I just didn't like the stock google pixel experience (that doesn't mean you won't). I personally prefer how Oneplus does things. OxygenOS is just a real good experience (and everything works of course). Needless to say I'm back on stable OOS as of yesterday...with magisk and a couple of addons . I agree with others though; It's fun to bounce around and try different things. There are some really good rom alternatives for those that don't like OOS.

I ran it up until this last weekend. Sometimes using the phone dialer it would randomly reboot. Also the files app had a glitch where I could not delete files and folders on /sdcard. I reported both. Other than that I had no other issues. Not many user facing changes right now so not really worth it in my opinion.

I found DP1 surprisingly stable on my Pixel 3a; in fact, nothing failed to work. The only reason I'm not running it now is because I am running Lineage 17.1 now (same phone) while waiting for DP2; in fact, I had more issues installing Lineage than installing DP1 OR any version of Android 10.
I'm actually thinking that Android going forward is more about stability than anything else - especially given the pushback merely concerning changes from 8->9 and 9->10. Fewer and fewer folks want a host of change in their mobile OS; what they want instead is stability.

It's elsewhere in the Pixel 3a thread: invisiblek's Pixel 3a weeklies.
Boot the included recovery, then adb sideload the ROM itself.
I am pretty happy with Oos on my 7 Pro, it's complete, stable and super snappy, but the one thing I want from Aosp roms is the AOD. I don't know if any of the custom roms is stable enough, bugless and as fun as Oos? What are your experiences and did you return to Oos or sticked to one of the custom rom?

I really enjoy custom roms, like HavocOS for examples, however I and a small number of others experience a WiFi connection drop out issue, which forced me to come back to OOS.
However, running xXx magisk rom, xposed (for gravitybox to get features back) and a custom kernel (Arter or Bluspark for example) is absolutely the best for me right now. The phone is nippy fast, everything just works.
And this wifi bug occurs with all custom roms?
If only Mwilky can integrate AOD to his magisk rom....

Ye wifi prob is almost in all ROM expect carbon ROM at least for me I didn't face any issue...
I for one never had the wifi issues on AOSP. I thoroughly enjoyed the customization, battery life, and quickness of AOSP roms but had to go back to stock because I kept deleting all my data by not flashing DM Verity to stay decrypted. Had to protect myself from myself lol.
I just replaced my Mi 8 Pro - great phone - too rare to get any real community support - was running Havoc on that and it was a great zippy setup (SD845, 8GB RAM etc) with the OP7Pro. My reason for doing so is it's the only (bar Android One and Pixel) phone mantufacturer (read Android distribution) that I could envisage running wihtout unlocking the bootloader. and flashing a ROM. I need a clean (locked bootloader and not rooted) device for reasons I wont go into in this thread, and Oxygen OS was the only choice for me really. Love it, and have been using it since the rocky beginnings on the OnePlus One after the Cyanogen bust up.

Me I am still hesitant, it's all for having an AOD that doesn't eat 5 to 10% of battery. I am using Taichi on oos but it's a battery eater

Its well worth it Bro. MSM Xtended has the most features and Bliss Rom is my second favorite due to the extreme amount of SOT i would get with and both are just overall better in every aspect in comparison to stock. The only feature I missed from stock was the app lock.
I know these threads are frowned upon bc everyone has their own preferences but I'm just curious what roms y'all are running. What is the smoothest ROM right now. I live bring to customize with fonts and colors in the status bar and what not.
I'm on Resurrection but just wanting to change it up. I wish dirty unicorns was on here I used to flash that back in the day and loved it!!!
Ive tried Bliss and ParanoidAndroid but went back to stock with custom kernel as I have way better battery life.

is it possible to have custom kernels with unrooted device and stock os? also, what custom kernle are you using if it's not a secret?
I've been on Havoc and then Omni Treskmod but both had certain issues (battery life / banking apps / default camera not working etc.) so I'm really thinking of reverting back to stock and unrooting the device. But I also enjoy some of the custom kernel features that are available out there so was wondering if it's possible to get best of both worlds

I dont believe that is possible. I use Elementalx and have no issues like that. Banking app is probably just because of root.

It definitely is because of root but I was unsuccessful in trying to hide root with Magisk... So seems like the only way to go is to revert back to stock without root...

Seems like it. Although, when my banking app had tap to pay built in, I was able to hide root and use it. Now I'm forced to use google pay and I can't get it to work while rooted.

My favorite has always been elementalx. It's great on every device I've had.
What about resurrection vs crdroid? I Ave been reading on both and both seems stable and good.
I've tried multiple custom roms but keeping coming back to stock, every rom seems to have some kind of functionality missing that the stock rom has, it's not worth it to lose base functionality just to have something different looking.

Yes, you can use alot of custom kernels unrooted. I have used Weeb and blu_spark unrooted without any problems and with Safety Net passing. If they are designed to work out of the box without any configuration with root apps and have CTS check bypass (kernel level) it should work without a problem like stock/unrooted, little research might be needed tho. Good luck.

Thanks for your input. I have actually unrooted my device and with a little bit of debloating I am getting the best battery life I have ever had (compared to quite a few custom roms & kernels I have tried out) + I was also able to get GCam with aux lenses, Youtube Vanced and get all the customization I need using Nova Prime Launcher. Really don't see myself coming back to any custom rom, as they tend to have bugs here and there, or have something that simply doesn't work the way it should. Stock everything gives me everything I need from this phone :good:
Just wanted to let everyone know I’ve manage to get a13 dp1 running on my lmv600am. So I guess I’ll be skipping A12 altogether. Everything is running: Phone, Bluetooth and all sound but obviously no qdaq. Will have pics tomorrow.
did you got the OTA update or was it through some hackery? since i have an unlocked AM v60 i cant get any updates

Dude..... this is experimental fw. The fact that it's running as well as it is is unbelievable. My guess, no one is gonna care about dual screen other than LG.
BTW, wireless charging is working too.
It was just a question. Still great news of course .
useless without QuadDAC well, for me ...
I was able to flash a GSI on my v30 and it has functional quadDAC, it was the DotOS 5.2 for A11, but DotOS for A10 works as well. I wonder if i flash that rom to the V60 the quaddac will work as well? any of you guys dare to try

Did you remember to erase userdata before attempting to boot?
I just followed this guide by Kratos: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/install-any-gsi-rom-on-the-v60.4400183/
DotOS 5.2 (ARM64 with GAPPS) booted just fine using his method. Another spectacular rom.
Sadly, 3.5mm jack does not work AT ALL, no Haptic/ vibration motor either and no fingerprint reader.
Seems that all GSI roms are lacking these 3 features on V60 which is super super unfortunate because in all other respects, they're daily drivers. Ultra stable, ultra fast and way more up to date than stock firmwares.

I had the same issue with the 3.5mm jack, but after ticking "force alternative audio policy" in treble settings it works just fine. No quad DAC, but still sound. Currently running A12 LineageOS GSI.
I also can't get haptic of fingerprint working. I've also had major issues with receiving calls and notifications -- it's like the device isn't online when the screen is off. I don't have gapps right now but I don't think that makes a difference.
I follow your sentiment on "almost perfect" roms. If GSIs had QDAC and didn't miss calls I'd be really happy. Fingerprint would be nice.
