A13 dp1 Up and Running! - LG V60 ThinQ Guides, News, & Discussion

Just wanted to let everyone know I’ve manage to get a13 dp1 running on my lmv600am. So I guess I’ll be skipping A12 altogether. Everything is running: Phone, Bluetooth and all sound but obviously no qdaq. Will have pics tomorrow.

did you got the OTA update or was it through some hackery? since i have an unlocked AM v60 i cant get any updates

I’m using a nippon p4a a13 gsi rom. Will have more info tomorrow

But no Dual Screen support right?

Dude..... this is experimental fw. The fact that it's running as well as it is is unbelievable. My guess, no one is gonna care about dual screen other than LG.
BTW, wireless charging is working too.

It was just a question. Still great news of course .

useless without QuadDAC well, for me ...

I was able to flash a GSI on my v30 and it has functional quadDAC, it was the DotOS 5.2 for A11, but DotOS for A10 works as well. I wonder if i flash that rom to the V60 the quaddac will work as well? any of you guys dare to try

I just tried flashing DotOS 5.2 for A11 on my v60TM. It bootloops, eventually dropping into recovery. Whoops.

Did you remember to erase userdata before attempting to boot?
I just followed this guide by Kratos: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/install-any-gsi-rom-on-the-v60.4400183/
DotOS 5.2 (ARM64 with GAPPS) booted just fine using his method. Another spectacular rom.
Sadly, 3.5mm jack does not work AT ALL, no Haptic/ vibration motor either and no fingerprint reader.
Seems that all GSI roms are lacking these 3 features on V60 which is super super unfortunate because in all other respects, they're daily drivers. Ultra stable, ultra fast and way more up to date than stock firmwares.

Does HDMI out work with gsi roms?

I had the same issue with the 3.5mm jack, but after ticking "force alternative audio policy" in treble settings it works just fine. No quad DAC, but still sound. Currently running A12 LineageOS GSI.
I also can't get haptic of fingerprint working. I've also had major issues with receiving calls and notifications -- it's like the device isn't online when the screen is off. I don't have gapps right now but I don't think that makes a difference.
I follow your sentiment on "almost perfect" roms. If GSIs had QDAC and didn't miss calls I'd be really happy. Fingerprint would be nice.

android auto issues

Anyone having any issues with this phone and android auto. The phone connects but I get a black screen on the card screen. When it does show correctly it's super laggy. Running xXx rom 2.1. fine using note 8 stock
Have you reported it in xxx thread? Could be an issue there.
What i did find with stock was if you enable the hide notch feature it played havoc with my AA. Disabling hide notch and AA worked fine. This was in 5.1.6, not sure if it was fixed since.
Wxact opposite for me. I was using an S9+ prior and P2XL before that and the +6 has been the most stable experience in Android Auto of them all. Been quite happy with it.

Are you running a custom ROMs? Are you using the stick cable too?
Android Auto is running great here. Use it everyday. Stock firmware with flash kernel and Magisk. I use a oneplus cable to connect.

[Question] Are any of the custom ROMs worth using over OOS?

Title.
Curious what rom everyone is using.
PE , HavocOS and LOS
So far Havoc seems to be the best Custom ROM at least to me. I've tried all of them.
Havoc or any of the modified magisk module flavors...
Havoc. Seems like it has the best Substratum compatibility which is important to me.
I've tried havoc but always come back to renovate module on oos.
Stock ROM is actually good, just debloat using TomatoT scripts. Do check AOSiP.. love it for its simplicity
Sent from my GM1911 using Tapatalk
Thanks for the input fellas!
dont forget omni treskmod... download from their website
I've tried Pixel Experience and Omni Treskmod, but they don't feel as smooth/polished as stock OOS. I'll be testing AOSiP, Havoc, and Paranoid Android soon.
Android Q DP4 is awesome but unusable for me because I need Android Auto (It doesn't work on DP4).

You'll probably have the best luck with aosip, afaik he's the only one actively trying to fix aa and in the newest release he fixed the screen flicker, although I haven't tested yet so idk if it still makes the phone slow, or if the buttons are still missing.
As for ops question all the custom roms are really good, but I don't think any of them quite compete with oos and renovate ice. Give it a few months and I'm sure it'll be a different story, but for now oxygen is the most rock solid.
I'm currently on aosip....and its awesome

OOS vs Aosp roms, your thoughts ?

I am pretty happy with Oos on my 7 Pro, it's complete, stable and super snappy, but the one thing I want from Aosp roms is the AOD. I don't know if any of the custom roms is stable enough, bugless and as fun as Oos? What are your experiences and did you return to Oos or sticked to one of the custom rom?

I really enjoy custom roms, like HavocOS for examples, however I and a small number of others experience a WiFi connection drop out issue, which forced me to come back to OOS.
However, running xXx magisk rom, xposed (for gravitybox to get features back) and a custom kernel (Arter or Bluspark for example) is absolutely the best for me right now. The phone is nippy fast, everything just works.
And this wifi bug occurs with all custom roms?
If only Mwilky can integrate AOD to his magisk rom....

Ye wifi prob is almost in all ROM expect carbon ROM at least for me I didn't face any issue...
I for one never had the wifi issues on AOSP. I thoroughly enjoyed the customization, battery life, and quickness of AOSP roms but had to go back to stock because I kept deleting all my data by not flashing DM Verity to stay decrypted. Had to protect myself from myself lol.
I just replaced my Mi 8 Pro - great phone - too rare to get any real community support - was running Havoc on that and it was a great zippy setup (SD845, 8GB RAM etc) with the OP7Pro. My reason for doing so is it's the only (bar Android One and Pixel) phone mantufacturer (read Android distribution) that I could envisage running wihtout unlocking the bootloader. and flashing a ROM. I need a clean (locked bootloader and not rooted) device for reasons I wont go into in this thread, and Oxygen OS was the only choice for me really. Love it, and have been using it since the rocky beginnings on the OnePlus One after the Cyanogen bust up.

Me I am still hesitant, it's all for having an AOD that doesn't eat 5 to 10% of battery. I am using Taichi on oos but it's a battery eater

Its well worth it Bro. MSM Xtended has the most features and Bliss Rom is my second favorite due to the extreme amount of SOT i would get with and both are just overall better in every aspect in comparison to stock. The only feature I missed from stock was the app lock.

Question Descendant OS for Veux

Descendant OS is an AOSP based custom rom.
Has anyone tried using Descendant OS on the POCO X4 Pro? The developer recently released a version of descendant OS for Veux based on Android 12.1
I'm not sure if i am allowed to share the link or not but if you just search up "descendant OS" then it's the first result u can see
p.s there goes the crown to the first official custom rom for the Poco X4 Pro (Oh wait is Miui Eu considered one...)
Yep,
It has issues with proximity sensor on calls and Bluetooth calls will cause the phone to crash
hmmm no fastboot version?...
cause veux/veuxg doesn't have TWRP yet afaik

yeah no fastboot version yet sadly, people r using an unofficial lineage recovery rn i think
You can also use Pixel Experience unofficial and it has its own recovery
im waiting for twrp too bcs its best recovery
i hope someone can do it
and.... info about GSI ROM from Ponces...
i mean PixelExperience - dont use it.
Many bugs with this GSI (on my OnePlus is OK, but no with Poco)
hmm i wait for official ones....i prefer TWRP too

actually i was in a telegram group where it was posted but people complained a lot about bugs but ik pixel experience has to be somewhat better than the miui based descendant OS so I'm not sure what to go for
any recommendations?
I do need performance improvement a little bit...
Any ROMs for this phone will be buggy for some time... We have no partial twrp, no official aosp/lineage os etc. Be happy that we've atleadt got MIUI EU and able to root. Magisk and debloating has made a huge difference in fluidity.

Def happy with miui eu and yeah till a custom recovery (official one) is out it'll be a bit buggy but honestly i do not care about proximity sensor and Bluetooth calling being broken as i use none of them

No worries, just be careful about what you flash or you'll end up hard bricking your device especially with all the similar models to ours - there's bound to be incorrectly labeled files around.

Any recommendations for a stable rom+/kernel to the 8t?

Hi guys
I'm still with the original oneplus rom but I had enough with that Android 12 ****...
I haven't even rooted my device but im down for everything to make my phone great again!
Last time i was into roms and kernels was 8 years ago with my galaxy 4, i guess nothing changes much?
I would realy appreciate any recommendations for the best stable room that works flawlessly, and a kernel if you'd recommend, too please
Any other root/recovery recommendations will be much appreciated

I have tried Project Zephyrus, evolution x, nameless, and Corvus on my 8t so far. Depends on exactly what you're looking for I guess. Project zephyrus, and nameless, are both very stable. Nameless has a little bit more customization than zephyrus. Evolution x has quite a bit of customization and the battery backup isn't terrible. Project Zephyrus gave me the best battery out of all the ROMs I've tried though. Corvus I believe is no longer maintained on our device. I'm tried that ROM, and It wasn't the greatest for this device anyway. I'm currently running evolution x and is doing me justice. It has OTA support. Nameless does as well. Project Zephyrus is working on it. If you don't need all the bells and whistles, but just enough I would go with nameless. Honestly though better to test them all out yourself, these are just my personal opinion.
I forgot about Derpfest. One of my favorites as well. Pretty sure the Dev discontinued development though the last I knew. For our device, the maintainer/developer started his own ROM, but he's's talking about still doing derp builds now instead, until he finishes his newest project. PM me if you would like his telegram channel to join

It still gets updates, and the kernel that comes with it is already great, so I don't flash any other custom ones. I just extract the recovery.img from the payload.bin in the ROM zip using payload dumper. Once you have that, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, boot to recovery, adb sideload the ROM zip then format data and boot to system. If you want root, sideload magisk.zip, or patch the boot.img with magisk apk then flash the patched boot.img

It can be the main gallery. The spoofing gives you unlimited pics and video cloud storage instead of just 10gb by spoofing your phone as a Google pixel 6. Nameless and Evo x have oos cam and gallery right now. Don't remember if zephyrus does, but I'm pretty sure it did
