When are we getting the new update? HTC U12+ benchmarks are below expectation - HTC U12+ Questions & Answers

I have been using the phone for 5 days now. Potentially it looks promising. But when I run Antutu benchmark, I am getting really bad scores , 200k, 170k, 150k.
The usual scores for Snapdragon 845 is between 250k-290k from Samsung, LG, and OnePlus.
I am really wondering how a SD845 phone scores 200k-150k which is even around SD835 itself.
Any clue when HTC is going to give us the performance for the price we paid ?

Its only a benchmark
Grtz

I'll leave that here.

I got 2024, but I don't really care about benchmark scores, I'm more concerned with real life performance, and I must say I'm not disappointed.

OH MY GOD, why do you keep falling for this? Quadrant does NOT fully test a phones capabilities. Benchmark scores can easily be raised artificially. A phone cannot be subjugated just by this score. According to this test, and iPhone3gs is better than iPhone4. That obviously should make your senses tingle on how inaccurate this test can be. Also, the Sensation uses its dual cores Asynchronously where only the second core begins to process once the first core requires more power. Stop using quadrant to compare phones, it makes me lose faith in XDA.
I got 2233
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
As said above, Quadrant, or any of the benchmarking apps, do not yet fully support all aspects of the device. The sensation is also a passive dual Core cpu. The second core only activates when the first core needs it. Quadrant doesn't support this.
Thread locked, theirs loads of stuff on this already

Galaxy S3 forum?

Mods, what do you think about creating a Galaxy S3 forum so people can have a place to discuss rumors and what not?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
I really don't think they create device forums to "discuss rumors". Might have to wait until the device actually comes out, or gets close.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
Only coz xda members are all so knowledgeable hehe, u know you're getting the best info

As an owner of a galaxy s2, I think that sounds like a great idea. Is interested to know how soon I will have to upgrade. I have heard the GS3 could be here as early as the summer, can anyone confirm?
I think also people searching from Google will be able to find xda that way well get an even bigger community as people join and contribute, more interest in the phone will ultimately be better for development, roms etc...any way let's see

OOOHHHHH Yes and then create S4,5, and 6 forums cause people will want to talk about those rumors as well. Why should we use the s2 general or the off topic sections for important rumors. After all this is xda-gossipers.com is it not? we need MOAR RUMERZ!!!!!!1 I hear the s8 will have a mind control and invisibility ray lolz. The one thing this site needs is more people coming in going "when release date 4 dis?" and "Why u no cre8 awsum romz for mi fonez all these r broken an suxxorz LOLZ!!!!11" And of course the all important essential "which shuld i buy? iphone 16s or evo 5ds?'

What's the point? Be happy with your S2s, and after all, it's just a phone.

The rumors I've seen were clocked at 1.8 GHz. That could be easily overclocked to higher I would guess. I highly doubt they'll disappoint with regard to specs. GSII was top of its class with specs.

Same, I'm expecting a lot. I think they will deliver, Samsung has done pretty well in the past few years. The GSII was future proofed about as good as you could ask for. It was the best of the best after many many months after the initial release. I have faith.

1.85 worse quadrant scores?

So I just updated from 1.73 to 1.85... And my quadrant scores are like 600 less, at 4400 compared to ~4970 on 1.73.. already factory reset, disabled a bunch of apps, etc. Not really sure what the deal is, anybody else experience this?

Haha I don't know.. it could be my mind telling me that it is, but the score that took the biggest hit is CPU, significantly lower than what quadrant says my device should be. I/o, 2d, and 3d graphics are slightly lower while memory is much higher..

its been said that quadrant doesnt relate to real world performance very well. for example i lost 50% after update on quadrant back with the evo and the phone actually felt faster. Run quadrant if you want but just dont put a lot of faith in the score vs your user experience. What is important is how it feels to YOU, not quadrant. Most all of the early reports say 1.85 feels a good bit faster than the others..
Yeah, I do realize that, but I also want to compare scores with others who updated to 1.85 because if everyone else is getting better scores still then maybe there's something wrong with my device, though I bet that is highly unlikely as it is just software.

I can concur with the OP. I had scores of 5200, when I updated, they went down to about 4600. Doesn't make a difference as the phone is a little smoother now.
happened to me too. pisses me off!
I had scores anywhere from 4700-5150 now I can't get any higher than 4500 after the update.

Strangel High Quadrant Score from HTC One X

I have just got myself a HTC one X running up to date stock rom, I decided to download Quadrant and I seem to be getting above average scores.
My first test gave me 5951
Ran it again and got 5907
Yet below where it says "Your Device" it shows the HTC one as having scores under 5k
Have attached Screenshot.
I think they are showing the old results before the latest update my scores are in the 5000's also
The latest Phone Rom Update or the Quadrant Software update?
Really I need to put a image verification every time I want to reply, bloody hell site lol.
I've had this happen before too. Lol not sure why

That's because your device is scoring higher than the average One X. The reason being is that you have a One XL which is a different phone. The One X has a Tegra 3, the XL has an S4. I'm sure whatever ROM you're running is helping to boost your scores but even stock we score higher on Quadrant than the One X.

No I have the one with the Tegra 3, It says one x on the box lol.
Also it's the latest update of the stock rom, I did a update as soon as I got the phone.
Says I'm running Sense 4.1
Software number 2.17.401.2
Under Phone name and Model Number it states = HTC One X
In that case your in the wrong forum. This forum is for the One XL.

Ahh, my reading comprehension skills are lacking lol. I do remember reading an article, I think on Engadget, that said that HTC really optimized the ROM for the latest OTA, and they specifically mentioned significantly higher quadrant scores.

My One S with S4 also scored higher than the One X. I don't trust Quadrant, either.

Lower resolution, so that would be expected.
Same chipset, with lower screen drag it does score higher.

(Activity)CPU binning still strong check your score.

Yes this started with nexus 4 everyone was running back to swap if they found they had a slower binned cpu. Lol
Anyway I got my 6 on cpu and 2 other. The main one here when you run the test is how well your cpu will respond to clock speeds. Higher or lower. I've also noticed a faster binned cpu runs better in my own real world experience with nexus 4. But you'll need to study up on it. Dont take my word for it...have at it.
OK so you must be rooted.
Open terminal right after you reboot.
Type this in exactly.
su
dmesg | grep PVS
After su hit return and likewise with the script.
Enjoy. And no running off to get that faster binned cpu. You will be upset running that direction. Lol.
You'll see a line of code. I'll post a pic here.

Means your rocking the fastest cpu bin..very good. Just as i,..however i mau me confusing the numbers. Its different than nexus 4. I posted this for fun. Many people love little tricks and such to find deeper info on their product.

My binning is 3.
Users above me have 2.
It is the one next to PVS
I think
Yes indeed bro. You have a faster binned cpu. Yours if im still remembering correctly will underclock lower and more stable. I picked up another g2 since trying out the m8 and sold m8 for another g2. Lol. Yes i know im nuts. But g2 is much much faster. In my use.
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA-FORUM, powered by appyet.com
3 here as well. Im d800 and i believe the latest manufactured g2 has threse faster binned chips. But im not certain. I was heavily involved with kernel and mods last few years but have been writing music on keyboards. But ill get back into the groove. Google lg cpu binning. Youll find knowledge on this.
