S6 Edge Soft Brick - General Questions and Answers

Hi! 2 or 3 days ago my phone wanted to upgrade himself on night, but i forgot to put him in charger, so his update wasn;t successfull so got bricked. The problem is another. I wanted to unbrick him with a new fresh Firmware downloaded , but got something. I used Odin for him, I put the software in his place , and pressed Start. Was ok but at boot.mpn (or how was called ) , the Odin blocked there and the phone wasn;t showing anything. Only Downloading , but no line of loading the firmware. It failed, ofcourse, and I tried again. But this process i've done ruined the boot system and now is Showing me "An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the Emergency recovery function in the Smart Switch PC software", but the Download mode was doing good. I accepted the idea that the original firmware on this phone wouldn't be back , so I tried again the Odin. But this time was different. Was stuck in Initialization stage. Well, I tried the Smart Switch from Samsung, but he's stuck too when I press "Emergency Recovery Function". I tried with Kies, maybe will be recognized, but nope. The Kies didn;t recognized the phone in the Emergency recovery . (It shows me a blank list with the devices in the Emergency Recovery stage). I though that the cable could be disfunctional, so I commanded from internet a brand new charger Samsung original, with all certificates on him. But the same thing happens . What could I do next ?

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

Bricked my mom's Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (GT-P3100). Can't make it work. HELP PLEASE D:

Last night my mom asked me if I could format her tablet, because it was too slow (Even for that device), and had a lot of crap on it.
So... I took a look at it and started to google about the tablet. Turns out it hadn't been upgraded to the latest firmware; it was on Android 4.1.2, and as it says here: "sammobile.com/tag/gt-p3100/" the latest available firmware is 4.2.2 .
Thus I tried to update it via software update on the device, but it turned out it wasn't able to update because the tablet has been modified. Then I remembered that a long time ago I tried to root it without much success, but didn't try again because I got bored.
Then I downloaded the 4.2.2 firmware UK version (P3110XXDMH1_P3110OXADMH1_BTU), and flashed it via Odin. Sadly it went wrong and a "Failed!" sign appeared. I can't remember what step failed, but it booted anyways, but this time my PC recognized the device as a "GT-P3110". I thought that maybe it was because the UK firmware was a Vodafone version, so I downloaded the Russian brandless version (P3100XWDMK1_P3100SERDMK2_SER) and flashed; it failed again, but this time the tablet didn't turn on normally.
I can't boot it neither normally, recovery or Download mode, it shows only a message that says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies & try again", which as I read on other android sites and this forum, it's a soft brick message.
Then I tried to do as it said, installed Kies and tried to fix what I've done, but when I enter the device data (Model and "S/N") it shows a message saying that the model info cannot be verified and that the device initialization can't continue.

So... This is as much info as I can remember about what could've gone wrong, please help me, if I can't fix it, mom will continue to be a liiiiittle too much angry
Beforehand thank you very much.
PS: I had to write wrong the links because I created this account just because I had this problem, so I can't post links.
Woah this happen to me once, but i try to flash it again and its work, this happen when i chose the wrong firmware zip, but it work when i instal the right one, maybe u flash wrong firmware bro, try flash the right rom bro
this message is like download mode, you can connect to pc and flash any firmware via odin
Yes, as said you can go in Download Mode and reflash another good ROM ! Make sure the .tar.md5 is not corrupted.

Note gt n8013 . Freezes after logo, can't go into recovery, and odin is not detecting

So I try to to use my tablet when this started. Now I read the fourm and alot of similar issue to mine, almost everyones note is recognized by odin. However mine is not even being recognized. It only makes the sound to charging noise that's it.
Only able to go into download mode.
Help anyone ?
Hi koc88158
Got a similar problem as yours around last week, had also tried searching the forum for answer, this was what i done from experience. But im just a noobie.
1. First time it happened, i reflash Stock recovery from Odin, and for some reason it got through, all files not deleted, root still there. Probably some bug happened.
2. 2nd time happened, i need to reflash stock recovery and Stock Firmware/ROm from Odin. Kinda hard to find a download link for a Stock ROM, i had try all link from threads here that had died. Try sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com . I got it from there here is for 8013
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N8013
3.3rd time happening, well i got a busted mother board, i can still access the custom recovery and Odin. But all above steps had failed because the MoBo is gone. Take it to samsung for a replacement and while there i ask to change the battery as well just in case. And you can ask to flash a stock firmware, but dont go straight away to 4.4.2 KitKat in case you want to do it yourself or Flashing a Custom Rom
Hope it helps. Good luck
Download PROPER DRIVERS. Usually they are downloaded by kies but sometimes, they don't work. In case of that, you have to download samsung drivers by yourself. I think you can find it in here or simply google it.
Here is an another issue with laptops that I also encountered: When you plug in, despite you having drivers, pc doesn't recognize it or constantly the device connects and disconnects every 2 seconds. In that case, you need to update your bios version. However, this case is not likely.(If you are not bad luck brian like me) So focus on driver installation.

[Completed] s4 rooting issues (soft bricked?)

so, i was trying to root a verizon s4, there seem to be plenty of ways to do this.
i have odin 3.7 and 3.9 on my pc running windows 10(neither version fight with another)
anyway, i received a s4 that could not open the os. so i opted to try a root install. i opened odin 3.9 and dled a root rom for what i hoped was the right build... it failed.. ( yes i put the phone in to DL mode)
so, i DLed a different one, that failed to..
tried a third time, fail.
at this time after rebooting the phone, the screen tells me that "your device didnt update successfully. use the verizon repair assistant on a computer to repair your device and complete the update."
i DLed the windows version of verizons repair tool for samsung (i hope the right one, not sure as i had to search hard for it).
i ran the repair.. it spent an hr DLing, then started the repair. gets to 80% then fails.
i have tried this several times.. even restated my computer.
i cannot boot to recovery to reset to factory, which by the way was the first thing tried, but i can boot to DL mode.
i have read so many different things now, and tried different things that i am getting tunnel vision and cant focus anymore.. i need help please!
update
so i managed to get the phone working to boot the os by resetting the phone with a PIT file via odin.. i believe the build is of1? or something of that nature.. now just need to look int to rooting for that.

[Completed] Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (''An error occurred while updating the device software'')

Hi everyone, first of all i wanted to thank you for clicking on this thread and im getting straight to the point;
I have recently rooted my phone with no issues and after this i had decided to install a S6 edge twrp recovery onto my device and i did so and i immediately have got a soft brick well i think it is a soft brick however it could be a hard brick as i am not pro at this, so i read some articles on here and decided to connect my phone to odin and install stock firmware and it had failed so now my phone can still go into download mode however it is not recognised by odin or any other Samsung programs such as smart switch and kies. I have tried 2 different USB cables all the ports on my laptop and no luck. I think it is the right time to mention that i also have the phone bricked on the light blue screen with the message ''An error occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in Smart Switch PC software'' It means a lot to me as this is my only smart phone and i really need it for my education and i would really, really be thankful if someone is willing to help me as i simply need this phone as cannot afford to buy a new one, thank you in advance Maciek.

Greetings and welcome to assist. In the smart switch software on your pc there is an emergency firmware recovery option that should repair your phone. As long as you have download mode the phone is usually recoverable so don't worry. If you put your phone in download mode and follow the on screen instructions from emergency firmware recovery you should be fine

HELP!

reactivation lock is on
Can't get any other details as phone won't start up properly.
My mum got a new phone so is giving her old s6 to my little brother. I did a factory reset and couldn't log back in with my mum's Samsung account, so we changed her password and tried to log in after reset and it's just not working.
I tried smart switch emergency recovery but it just said device not recognised.
I tried to flash the original stock firware amd the latest stock firmware and and latest stock firmware and it never worked.
I tried with different cables and an original Samsung cable and still to no avail. Odin fails on "complete write operation failed"
I am at a loss as what to do now as the phone now says "an error occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch PC software"
But I have tried and it says device not recognised!
I feel I've run out of options now any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanced for any help I receive.
Have a good day everyone

You can do it. You absolutely need to find the right stock ROM for it and it will work. I was stuck in this situation about a month ago, it's all about getting the right ROM

What carrier is it through? And make sure you download Odin 3.12.7, it's not the newest version of Odin but seems to be the most stable
