I currently own a Mi Mix 2 at the moment, and I have to say that it is perfect in my eyes aside from one pretty significant issue. Whenever you scroll through text, or anything really, there is a blurring effect similar to ghosting on LCD displays only waay worse. If you do a quick Google you can see gifs that demonstrate how bad it is. Everything else about the panel is perfect with regards to color reproduction and brightness.
My question is this, has the issue been resolved in the Mi Mix 2s? I read on a display benchmark that the response time from black to white has decreased 10ms.

So has anyone noticed the text blurring on the Mix 2s? Has anyone noticed an improvement if you came from the original Mix 2?
I don't own a mi mix 2 but with the 2s scrolling performance is very good. No ghosting for me

So there's no text blur or ghosting on yours? The Mi Mix 2 I have is insanely smooth, but still has ghosting pretty evidently.

I don't realize any ghosting, I can make you a video on friday if you want
I'm interested in buying this phone but I am really worried about this 'ghosting' issue that was present in the Mi MIX 2. I searched online to see if the issue was still present in the Mi MIX 2S and found this statement in the AnandTech review:
"What is probably the Mi MIX 2S’s biggest weak point is the screen. I was subjectively quite annoyed with the pixel response time as it very much results in visible ghosting and smearing, especially in scrolling text."
The reason this worries me is because my eyes are very sensitive. I bought a ZTE Axon 7 last year and had nothing but trouble for months with headaches and eyestrain. I found this was due to the phone using an AMOLED panel with Pulse-Width Modulation. I stopped using the phone immediately and my symptoms disappeared the next day. Users also reported these symptoms with the Samsung Galaxy S7 which uses the exact same display panel.
I have a Mi Mix 2s and it most definitely has severe ghosting when scrolling. If you are sensitive to that stuff this phone ain't for you I'm afraid. Text gets pretty blurred when scrolling. The panel has a very bad refresh rate. The phone is super smooth in operation though. But stuff gets blurred.
The ghosting is tolerable. If you updated to miui 10 pie rom + enable force gpu rendering, it will be better and almost unnoticeable.
The major drawback from this ghosting screen is VR. This phone is almost unusable for vr headset, since moving head a little will create severe motion blur.

Thanks for those responses. I didn't see these messages until now because I wasn't quoted in the replies. That really sucks if the phone suffers from bad ghosting. The problem is, Xiaomi devices aren't sold officially within the UK and so I can't just pop into a store and try it out for myself. I know my eyes are supersensitive when it comes to PWM flickering but I might be OK with the ghosting, especially if I can enable GPU rendering and apply tempered-glass to reduce the effect as suggested. Would this really make a big difference?
I know I'm fine with my ZUK Z2 which does NOT use PWM and has response times of 18ms Black to White and 30ms 50% Grey to 80% Grey. In comparison the Mi MIX 2S is 25.4ms and 56ms respectively, which is a fair amount worse on paper.
This really is colossally disappointing because the Mi MIX 2S is like my dream phone despite it's few flaws. Unfortunately the Mi MIX 2 also suffers the same problem and the Mi MIX 3 will be far too expensive. I have a choice of the Pocophone F1 too but I can't stand the notch and those horrid rounded corners. The Mi A2 is another but the 3,000mAh battery capacity is not sufficient in 2018.

*Sigh* I don't think there's even a phone in existence at the moment that meets the criteria I'm looking for. The Honor View 10 was looking like the phone for me until Huawei decided to stop bootloader unlocking. All the other non-OLED alternatives like the Pocophone, Mi MIX 2S and Mi A2 have their own problems as I mentioned previously.
I wish more manufacturers would adopt 120Hz panels like Razer. I think that's the future. I'd also like to see more in-screen fingerprint scanners but at least we know for certain that technology is coming to the mainstream shortly.

Yeah it's really the only flaw with this phone. I see it easily when using it but it's not a dealbreaker for me. But I understand it is if you are sensitive to that kind of stuff I know some can get dizzy and **** because of it. Most phones have at least one thing that can be bothersome. I still wait for the perfect phone for me! This is pretty close though.

Well thanks for your feedback, I had a hard time finding a definitive answer on this since a lot of people claim they don't notice anything wrong with the screen on the Mi MIX 2S. Regrettably I think it's probably best for me to avoid this phone and wait for something else. Right now there's nothing else that matches what I'm looking for.
Hopefully they'll fix the screen issues in the Mi MIX 3 but I don't like the thought of spending more than £300 on a phone, so it won't be for me. And they might end up using OLED which means unbearable PWM flickering.

I think you make the right choice. Every time I scroll on my 2s I see like a ghost image standing still for a split millisecond while content scrolls. It's enough to notice it all the time and while it bothers me a bit I can live with it. Good luck whatever you decide to get in the future =)
I have the same bad surprise with a Mi Mix 2. The perfect phone for many of my criterias, but this blurred text is very annoying for me.
Did you found another Xiaomi (or other phone) without this issue ? Thanks

I was just wondering if those of you who haven't ordered the Mi Mix 2S yet are you considering the OnePlus 6 instead? I'm kind of on the fence between this phone and the upcoming OP6. I like the fact that the OP6 has similar specs with reportedly very good camera and waterproofing.
Am I the only one debating this or are you guys convinced the Mi Plus 2s is the right phone for you?
OP6 has a notch which is enough for me not to buy it.
Same thing here. I am waiting for OP6 to be release and see which one to buy. Has anyone able to get the Mi Mix S2 in the US?
My 1+1 is very old now so I had to decide between MI mix 2s or waiting for the 1+6, I bought the mi mix 2s because the price is lower, the design is just awesome and the camera is very good. Oneplus said everytime their new camera makes perfect images and it was crappy everytime
The only reason for me I would prefer the 1+6 over the 2s is the huge developer community behind oneplus devices, there are houndreds of Roms, kernels and mods. However with the new project treble we will see lots of Roms for the mi mix 2s for sure and if you check the xda page of the mi mix 2 you can see there is lots of development too (of course not as much as for 1+ devices). As far as I know the 1+6 will only be splashwater proof
B28 kinda important to me but don't need/want the 256gb and not paying that much for a network band lol. Will wait and see what OP6 brings or even u12 to replace u11.

Wise words, bro
I was ready to buy a Mi Mix 2S but I wanted to wait for the OnePlus 6 but that notch just kills it for me.
It does not have any symmetry or anything in its design, its just ugly IMO. Although I dont like the camera bump on the mi mix 2s either, with the provided case it looks actually quite good.
How about bringing the Mate 10 Pro into the equation as well? Personally I was waiting to choose between the 3 of them, but the notch brought the choice down to 2. 1+6 is too apple-ish imo. I think I will start another thread on 2S vs M10P btw.
Wanting a Snapdragon 845, there isn't a huge choice at reasonable prices.
I'll probably choose the Mi Mix 2S over the OnePlus 6 because:
- cheaper
- no ugly notch
- has wireless charging

How is your opinion about how the 2s feels in your hands? For me that's the only downside of the 2s, my 1+1 feels so much better (especially because of the weight) and without the case the 2s is very slippery...
Honestly, I was waiting for the OP6 launch but after seeing what they are offering, decided to go with the Mi Mix 2s. Then I saw that not only did Xiaomi not get rid of their stupid unlocking period, they actually increased it to 360 hours. Seriously, this is the kind of BS that makes me want to never buy another Xiaomi device. Went through tons of hassle with my Mi 6 unlocking and not feeling like doing it again so looks like it is OP6 for me.

Right now there are no custom roms or even stock roms for the MM2S, so waiting two weeks is not a problem for me at least. I wish I could unlock immediately, of course, but I don't think it's a problem waiting two weeks at this point.

I like to unlock the bootloader on all my devices as soon as I get it so I don't have to format again later. I just don't understand the reasoning behind this process I guess. Also, I wonder if the mi mix 2s will have a decent rom scene or at least better than the disappointing mi 6 custom development

Yeah, good point. Although unlocking will most probably result in wiping all your data, I have actually unlocked the Redmi Note 4 without wiping anything for some reason. This might not be the case, but also, I have read that using MIUI in-built backup will restore everything...
Regarding custom development, time will tell. But the fact that it's on the P preview is a good signal, I guess.
Also, GSI images seem to be working relatively good according to some users.
Im waiting to see what the mi7/8 brings to the table. Hopefully Xiaomi will include band 20.
Mi 7/8 will bring a notch to the table. Also probably 3D face recognition
The notch is killing me on the OP6.
But OP development is of the charts.
What will the development be like for the 2S?
I had a not-so-good experience with my OP3T and always wanted a Mix phone, because they are the most beautiful phones around
The speaker (calls) died after like 8 months or so, so i had to fit with earphones or the main speaker which is a pain in the ass, battery has been failing lately and also feels slightly sluggish on stock rom.
the biggest issue is the first one, TONS OF PEOPLE had problems with the 3T speaker and they made it look like it never happened, honestly if it wasnt a small bug i would say "whatever" but i could hardly use the MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE OF A PHONE, CALLING... also updates? op forgot about 3t after 5 released.
So, NO MORE ONE PLUS PHONES FOR ME, NEVER AGAIN.
I wanna buy new phone with total new experience
After my p20 pro
Which one should i buy?
Maybe the Mi Mix 3 but not the 2S.
Now i would take the NEX because the 3 is not out.
What a silly question.
You can't decide between a super-spec flagship vs. an underwhelming sequel with the camera in the wrong place?

Which one is the super? ?
None 8a better than the P20pro. Here's why.
The performance in flagships have plateaued because most of them can handle anything without breaking a sweat. The Kirin 970 is still good.
Now the p20 pro has a camera that is still unbeatable... Esp those handheld 4/5 sec long exposure shots.
If you still want to buy a phone, still, don't get any of these cause the UI remotely follows a similar role model. Get the Pixel 2 XL.
Of these two (Nex or 2S), the Nex is better, IMHO.
Vivo nex is a far better option than mi mix 2s.
I'm currently using nex, though i have not used mix 2s.
I have used mix 2 as it was launched in my country India.
Mix 2 was a strictly good phone. Nothing Excellent about it.
But the vivo nex is much superior. The display quality is enough to beat mi mix 2s.
Better camera , latest tech and battery are other few advantages.

Thanks my friend ?
My previous phone was a Mi Mix 2, cant compare these 2, the Nex is a beast!
I have been using the Mix 2s for about a month now and i am observing this forum to see if its worth "upgrading" to the Nex in the next few months. I always have a fear of early batch production issues and it seems like there is a thread that already exists dedicated to poor display panels. Suffered with the Sony xperias and even galaxies. Lesson learnt, wait until the later batches have been manufactured.
As to Mix 2s over Nex, i can already see several advantages that puts the Nex as the top pick! Aside from the new tech that is yet to be implemented in the Mix series, and im saying this with the lack of visibility over the dev community on funtouch os, i would think that Vivo would only be inferior in the software department. Xiaomi so far has a huge community dedicated to MIUI and they're after all, focusing on this aspect as part of their selling point. Nonetheless, MIUI is still buggy as heck so i would be wary of FuntouchOS unless someone can vouch for that software which clearly looks like an iOS copycat (imho)
My opinion on the 2s:
Pro
1. Looks pretty; first time using a ceramic phone, becareful it shatters unforgivably
2. Small form factor despite a 6 inch screen, well because of that display
3. Fast, 845 SD same as the NEX. This one should not show any difference with the NEX
Cons
1. lacks in a good camera (despite the high DXOmark score, the rear camera is buggy and is inconsistent, dont get me started on that poor Front camera)
2. battery, soso (probably due to average size batter and LCD panel)
3. lacks a punchy speaker (false stereo, dont expect an immersive experience)
4. Proximity sensor is inconsistent (using a new tech leveraging infra tech, which is also not consistent when you're on the phone)
5. Buggy software (this one is frustrating, apps occasionally crash and i cant use spotify now for some odd reason, yet to reformat but ill do that when miui10 comes out)
Hi XDA guys!
Everybody knows that Mi series goal is to be better than Redmi at least in specs and performance.
But how about performance to price ratio, how about all other things that You dont worry and dont expect in REDMI casue it's cheap but You do expect it in the MI series?
What are the problems/things that You don't like in MI series?
What are the problems/things that You don't like in REDMI series if there is any? WHY? Cause we all know not to expect wonders for a low budget priced phones.
I've talked to many people who had/have REDMI and MI series Xiaomi phones (clients, selllers, internet folks, friends) and they only agree on ONE thing -the price is great wheter it is REMI or MI phone.
A strange thing happens.... REDMI owners are always satisfied. The only thing that bothers not all of them is the camera quality.
But in low and middle price segment REDMI beats EVERY other BRAND.
Xiaomi has also great prices in the high end flagship models but here MANY PEOPLE are dissapointed.
For example camera quality, screen quiality, body, bezel, bugs, no NFC, no european B20 LTE band.
The MI users also tell me that non of the above bothers them but something totaly different. EACH person = an original problem with MI device.
Can You please tell me what are Your problems/dislikes with MI and REDMI devices cause I'm about to buy one from each segment?
What should I worry about (Android updates maybe?) buying a REDMI and a MI phone IN YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIANCE?
Don't get me wrong. I never had a MI phone but in shops they perform GREAT so I wonder what's the fuss is about?
You Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is running good, Internal version with all bands, I bought it in Xiaomi shop in France so it's normal to get everything good.
The problems that I noticed are a performances issues on benchmarks and the back glass is very fragile, I have scratches even with the case.
I have big hopes with Android P.

Thanks for reply dude, I have some questions though:
1. What exactly did You notice on benchmarks? Performance issues shouldn't exist. It's the fastest CPU (SD 845).
2.Why do You have big hopes with Android P. Is Oreo making problems and what kind?
3. It would seem like in flagship models the manufactuers put very delicate screens probably to earn more cash on repair. I have the same problem on Samsung Galaxy S8. A slightly nail can scratch the surface and still they say it's gorilla glass. That unacceptable.
On Redmi Note 4 (cheap Xiaomi phone) I have such a hard screen that I don't need any kind of protection....
My mi mix 2s issue is just about ghosting screen and laggy video recording, other than that is perfect.
So many issues. Mostly software which has too many bugs to list. Text selection is buggy. Text input is laggy because of full screen gestures. Often no way to switch apps during calls. MIUI is a disaster. Our Mi A2 running Android One is a significant step up.
In terms of hardware, the Mix 2s is ok. The screen is the main problem. It is not very bright outside compared to my old pixel. Also it scratches very easily. I've never had a scratch on a phone screen in over 10 years, but I already have 2 on this handset after a few weeks and I don't have a clue how as I don't keep anything else in the same pocket. It says it is gorilla glass but I don't believe it - I think it is made out of cheese
I've noticed performance drops on benchmarks too. First Antutu score was 270k, the last one i did after factory was 209k....
Phone gets hot real quick, idle cpu temperature is around 39C.
My camera lens started to peel... after a week

1 - Low scores for a S845 (less than 200k on AnTuTu, 3400 on 3dmark slingshot extreme, 1900-7000 on Geekbench)
2 - Xiaomi announced big buffs for camera and performances with their Android P builds.
3 - I'm just talking about scratches, because the back is ceramic and shouldn't be scrashed so easily under a case (the provided one).
That scratching is simply a way to tell Your subconcius to buy another flagship from Xiaomi cause the current one will be too scrached.
Are You sure that the long awaited Mi Mix 2s has a long list of bugs?
Xiaomi did overtime to put this phone on the market with flawless opinion.
What else I can expect from Mi Mix 2s and do You think that these bugs won't exist in the newly lanuched Mi8?
BTW It's a shame, Xiaomi was well on their way to beat even Samsung with performance to price ratio but they suddenly asked too much cash for their top phones.
If they would keep up what has been done in the low budget phones we could have a worldwide revolution resouting in ALL brands lowering their price for even flagship phones.
It was so close... We all would benefit from it. For example a Samsung S9+ instead of 1000 $ would cost 600 USD.
Xiaomi did us no favor and got all of a sudden a big time player alhought their flagships are yet far from being great.
Who cares?I am using this phone, not someone else.I like it, this is the most important thing.
1 - My Mix 2S never freezes. Never.
2 - I'm not facing any issue with video recording (4k).
3 - I don't give a **** for performing Antutu tests. I just look at its scores before buying.
4 - I'm with Mix 2S about 20 days and there's no lens peeling or scratches. I am careful with it. I can sell it right now as a new.

2 - Just check in camera settings 60 fps isn't available.
3 - ok, but the Snapdragon 845 was a major spec for this device and the phone perform like a S835 one.
4 - You're lucky for the scraches, I don't know how the mine have been scrached under a case, but I have no lens peeling neither.
I've had mine for 3 months now, and it's perfect for me, especially for the price.
No scratches, no peel lenses, and I don't notice any ghosting. In fact, my only gripe is that the MIUI notification pull down with the brightness slider needs you to touch where the slider is before you can move it. My previous phone (ZUK Z2 Pro) let you tap anywhere on the slider bar and it would move to where your finger is. So quickly upping to full brightness in sunlight on my Mix 2S is trickier as I need to see where the slider is.

2 - You are right. Is Xiaomi crazy?
3 - As I told for a friend early: I didn't notice any difference while using Mix 2 and Mix 2S. I'm not on gaming. I just want a never-lag device, iykwim.
4 - I'm with my device 24 hours per day. I know where it is everytime.
I have the global model 128gb version and as soon as it was set up I was disappointed with MIUI.
Never had a Xiaomi device before but the rom sucks and has so many bugs in it it's really annoying.
Fortunately some people here are developing custom ROMs and I'm on pixel experience gsi right now which works flawlessly. It's like having a Pixel for half the price. Of course there is some work left for the Devs regarding some little features like auto brightness and camera apps but I'm use a Gcam port and it's fine for me.
It's not the device IMO its the software that kills it. They have good prices but the bootloader unlocking process is really annoying and their software suite like the MiFlash tool is really crappy.
I tried flashing the Android P Beta from Xiaomi and almost bricked my phone because they just forgot to include some batch files in the original download. I was lucky because some guy here provided all the needed files and I got the device running but this must not happen to a company that wants to be a global player.
Just my 2 cents...
I use the provided case and have no scratches, lens peels whatsoever but the case start to break on the lower right corner after just 2 months and taking it off only 3 times. But it was free so I'm okay with that.

Well, this is your respectable opinion but I really don't understand why people spend 500 USD/EUR being totally unconscious of the products they are buying.
MIUI OS has been developed for many years and it always had the same peculiarities: extremely visually accurate, feature-rich, buggy, childish.
MIUI is something you just love or hate. But it has been so for years: people should know in advance when they buy normal Xiaomi devices (I mean, other than A1 or A2).
It is very surprising that buyers complain of something everibody knows.
I also own a Samsung S7 Edge, which is "boring": never had a single issue in two years.
When I bought the Mi Mix 2S I was perfectly aware that I was buying a totally different phone, with an OS which apparently is always in beta stage.
But, you know, my Xiaomi is just fun!

Well, this is your respectable opinion but I really don't understand why people spend 500 USD/EUR being totally unconscious of the products they are buying.
MIUI OS has been developed for many years and it always had the same peculiarities: extremely visually accurate, feature-rich, buggy, childish.

The problem is that reviews never talk about the bugs or missing features. And the ROM flashing community makes it sound easy to just swap to an AOSP ROM, without mentioning that AOSP ROMs take a very long time to develop and lose features like camera quality etc.
Personally I expected MIUI to be a bit annoying. I used it 6 years ago and it was not great but I had expected it to have improved. I was wrong. It is the worst experience I've had on a phone out of the box. I can't believe companies manage to sell consumer devices this bad. Xiaomi puts a tonne of effort into a ROM that has fewer features and worse usability than stock Android. Why invest so much energy into making something worse?

I had both stock and miui , emui , etc...
I had Nokia 8 , Lg G6 , Honor 8 huawei p9 , p10 plus, xiaomi mi mix 2s , samsung s5
And i dont understand why do you say that miui has less features ... It has theme engine (no root) ,gestures, optimized battery saving , screen temprature
It seems you dont know what you are talking about , i found that the phone with less features was nokia 8 (stock) . The only thing good was the fastest updates but i had no control about nothing

Just to clarify some things:
Before buying a product at that price range I'm thoroughly investigating the product. So I was not "totally unconscious" as you call it.
I was aware of the OS and the differences from stock android. But if you can't get your hands on a device before buying it you have to trust reviews and hands on videos. And almost all of them didn't mention the problems I encountered.
As posted before you're getting lied to or bugs and errors are just sugarcoated and no one tells the truth.
I have no problem flashing phones and always did and I'm glad there are alternatives for this piece of crap MIUI. You say it's developed for years? Maybe, but for this amount of time invested into an OS we could expect a better performance and stable ROMs without all the bugs.
Have you ever read the official MIUI forum? Besides the point whor**g there it's full of bugs and problems and none of the Xiaomi devs gives a flying f*ck about the people reporting them.
I'm happy with the pixel experience rom by now. Never going back again.
End of rant.

Yeah themes are the most important feature... especially when you have to set your location to India to get it to work.
You know, that's one of the things that makes me mad. It's not only about pushing as many features into a rom as possible. They should work properly to be a benefit. Not working features are a no-go.
And all of the things you mention are not MIUI specific. They try to copy all the good stuff from other manufacturers, but fail permanently.
Battery life was catastrophic with MIUI. With the Pixel Experience rom I get twice the SOT. And that's with a not device customized GSI...let that sink in.

Again, that is your point of view. I am not saying you are lying, just that your opinion is highly subjective.
1) MIUI forum is full of children writing "cool" and "great". Nothing comparable with XDA. But is has been so since the beginning. Every experienced android user knows (and keeps far away). Why complain now?
2) As I wrote above, I also own a Samsung S7 Edge, whose OS is rock-solid. Still I cannot complain about the lack of feature in MIUI. For example I have many routines in my ordinary day; with the S7 I used Tasker for scheduling vibration mode, wifi on/off, connection and so on; MIUI has this feature and works great, without additional apps (and root!). Same for taking screen captures: no need to edit build.prob, as MIUI has a simple gesture for that. I agree that MIUI may have some bugs, but definitely the issue is not the lack of features.
3) Battery life was "catastrophic" just in your configuration. In my configuration battery drain is comparable with S7, i.e. very good.

Of course my opinion is subjective...as all opinions are. I just pointed out what bothers me about the forum, the device and the software.
I've seen and used much better android ROMs and MIUI is just not for me. So I switched the rom asap.
I also used Samsung's UI on my brand new tablet with at the time some of the best hardware you could get. And guess what it lagged awfully. So I dumped the Samsung firmware, installed lineage and it's snappy and responsive. No comparison.
But everybody likes and uses or needs other features, as you mentioned and that's perfectly fine. That's the great advantage of a free system like android.
I just don't need the "features" of MIUI to me it's overloaded.
Regarding the forum you're right. It's like playing COD with a bunch of 14 year olds on steroids.
Hi there,
i am an (almost) happy Mix 3 user. Almost because the slider mechanism as example given.. I don´t have any problems with it for now, besides a light wobble that seems to be normal on this model in most cases. I am more concerned about the longlivity of the mechanism and the dust that can get into it (using a FitBag for it). I got my device some weeks ago but i am not sure if a phone made of one peace is just easier to maintain. I always have a look for dust between the both halfes of the Mix 3 and baby it. Some kind of stress..
Now the Mi 9T Pro is available for preorder in Europe i think to replace the Mix 3 with it. The problem is that i am not sure if this is a logical step in performance and features..
I am using the back camera a lot and the Mix 3 one is great for me. I don´t want to make a step backwards, but i think a phone made out of one peace makes me feel better in some way.. Can´t discribe it any better.. Maybe i can´t decide and thinking about to much..
Thank you for your input and kindly regards!
No, stick with mix, cams are better, gcam will also be better, magnetic mechanism will also do better then the pop up on Mi9t pro, less prone to brake. Thats my opinion, but if you look for something different Mi9t pro is good alternative for Mix 3, but I wouldnt go for it, maybe ill replace mine with Mix 4 in couple of months, but for now ill enjoy in this beauty
I actually went for the Mix 3 because I was concerned about the longevity of pop up cameras. To me, knowing that the slider mechanism is not motorized and uses less moving parts was a big bonus over other phones with motorized cameras. That being said, dust can be an issue, I find myself wiping off dust from the front camera quite regularly. And the motorized cameras in other phones haven't started breaking yet, so I think time will tell how reliable they are.
I'm using a case (wich let me use slider normally) and i don't fight with the dust so frequently. I LOVE this phone and i love the slider too, less breakble than popup cameras

Not really less breakable. Even people in this forum have managed it.
Pop up camera is hidden and hides when phones dropped. Motor will last longer than the amount of times you'd use the camera.
Slider has more weak points - wobbles, has a gap and stuff can get in.
Break slider break screen. Break pop up camera lose camera.

Apart "stuff can get in" part wich i really can't understand because apart some little dust wich can be easily cleaned, idk what people fimd inside their phones LoL, i think that 1 fall = one break for both mechanisms ?, so durable or not it's a war that comes to an end with the same result in that case

Dust etc scratches the camera which it's done on mines so camera will be better protected with pop up and probably better water resistance as well.
Slider is a good way round the notch but not the best way especially with the unwanted extra 30-40g weight and thickness
I think the MI 9T Pro is a little bit more thicker than the Mix 3. Really hard to decide..
The MI 9T Pro is more a mainstream phone and I like the "prototype character" and the exclusivity of the Mix series. Beside the maintenance the phones needs I am very happy with it. First world problems.
By the way. I am always using a Fitbag to protect the phone when carrying it in the pocket. I don't like cases, they add bulk and hide the beauty of the phones. I never had any scratch or something else because of dirt and dust.

Totally agree. I've also been looking hard at the Mi 9, mostly because of the weight and thickness. On the other hand, I really like the Mix 3, performance is great, battery is fine (for me), so if I keep it a while there will be something out by then that's better than the Mi 9, or the Mi 9 will be cheaper at that time.
I got my Mi 9T Pro yesterday but i really can´t decide between the both.. I "played" a little bit with the 9T Pro and tested everything, but i can´t help myself - for now i like the Mix 3 more, especially design wise. The slider is so much cooler than the popup cam.. Overall the 9T Pro looks so "normal" when you compare it with the Mix 3, the Mix 3 really stands out of the masses - that is why i always choosed the Mix series.
I also started to migrate my data to the 9T Pro but i stopped it at last to go on with the Mix for today. Maybe i start another try today evening, but i am really unsure.
Even if the 9T Pro is a little bit lighter, the battery much bigger and the display looks a bit more colorful compared to the Mix 3, the slider free display.. I am really unsure in the end if this would be my daily driver.
I am not a gamer, but a power user on Chrome and some board apps. Never got the hardware to it´s limits. I also take photos very often, and in my first impression the cam of the Mix 3 is also better. I did a direct comparsion with both phones photos on a calibrated display on my computer.

Try some low light pictures. Then it's easy to decide. I would never buy a phone without OIS.
I finally decided to return the Mix 3 and to use the MI 9T Pro. I also did some test shots with the cam and can't heavily tell a difference, even in low light (stock and gcam).
I use the MI 9T Pro now as using a normal phone while I babied the Mix 3 every now and than because of dust between slider and body.

How about video stabilization?
Got it 2 days ago, barely even used it, still waiting for unlocking permissions...
I believe it's just Temporary Burn at max brightness but I've never seen it be so obvious on literally ANY display before!!
The shadow you're seeing is caused by the Brightness Slider in dark mode, and can be recreated in less than 5 seconds, and goes away after 20 seconds
I read somewhere in the MIUI forums that it could be a software problem regarding MIUI 10/11's advanced display algorithms, but I highly doubt it as I know the system only changes the overall contrast based on lighting
I did multiple tests with dimming On/Off, and compared it to my Mi8 SE running some Xiaomi.eu MIUI 11 beta, it's a completely new problem on the Note 10
Please test it yourselves as well, I'm looking forward to detailed replies
Many thanks!!
I have mine by 2 months, mi note 10 with cc9 pro xiaomi eu rom, started noticing the same things latest 2 weeks ( you see it better in a dark enviroment ).
Max i reach is half brightness, can't stand more, so i can guarantee that is not because of max brightness as i've seen that happening even with just like barely readable brightness.
Reading mode and anti flicker don't help.
I can even assume that with anti flicker on ( that i always have ) is worse.

UPDATE:
The problem has gotten much worse, does anyone know who's manufacturing these for Xiaomi / Huawei?

The problem has gotten much worse, even the white text I'm typing right now in the XDA Labs app is leaving light shadows when I backspace, I'm %99 sure that I have a factory deflect, and no warranty, so I actually might end up replacing the screen in a few months if officially stated fixed versions become available

Visionox manufacfure the display, not the usual Samsung xiaomi used for their oled. Samsung is prone to burn in too, every oled is, but it is clear that quality talking this display is inferior to the Samsung one's, never seen this kind of ghost burn in until this phone. Let's hope will always remain only a temporary burn one
This is unbelievable... even the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini has far superior image quality and calibration
I don't have any burn-in problems yet but I can agree with you about the calibration and quality issue. Even when I change it to warm or cold, I can't notice a big difference, and I don't really like the colors it shows. Most of the reviews say this phone has a great screen, I don't think they were lying but there must be a problem with the quality standards of the brand of the screen. My 3 years old S8 Plus shows better colors with its cracked screen, which is annoying.
