I have tried using a hacked version of fastboot https://forum.xda-developers.com/an.../guide-how-to-reboot-to-edl-fastboot-t3394292 which has the command reboot edl built in. This dosen't work as fastboot dosent work when i run fastboot devices my device isn't detected and when I run the bat script it says waiting for device and dosent work again because of fastboot. Is there another way to get into edl or fastboot or a test point method I can use

Unfortunately, you must go with the test point one. It's not really difficult, plus, your device's warranty must already be over anyway.

Use fastboot & ADB guide for beginners. Download all required files so your PC can Connect to OPO VIA USB from PC. What PC OS do u use? Windows or Linux. Watch how to unlock boot loader, root, & install recovery tool or Return to stock OnePlus one YouTube video. Easiest start. Your phone will be OK. U need to down load drivers so u can use your PC to talk to your phone - pass instruction & activate 1+1 options. Install CM 11 or whatever ROM u want to use, as well as, 1+1 tools u may have lost is Recovery Tool.

You don't need a recovery to unlock the bootloader. Just boot it into fastboot mode, connect it to your Mac, and type 'fastboot oem-unlock' on the Terminal. Be careful, though, because you WILL lose ALL of your data!

Hmmm no recovery? When u hold down volume + power ?
Did u find the fastboot & adb tools for Mac?
What happens when u hold volume key up + power button at same time after turning device off?
What happens if u $fastboot devices -
Can u issue cmd "$fastboot oem unlock"
Know its frustrating but have to keep trying till u get in. Just have the rom files unzipped on your Mac ready to flash 1+1 when u get in. Its how I did it. When I wasn't able to but into recovery. Get on fastboot go thru OEM unlock, then flash 1+1. Follow the install script manually. Open script w plain text reader & just issue cmds following script. I don't trust scripts I + automation to get things unstuck.

Use Google, there are plenty of guides available online. Once you have fastboot working the best thing to do is to flash the stock images with fastboot. I have detailed instructions in section 8a of my guide here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2839471
Please note that fastboot commands are slightly different on a Mac but you'll see that when you view a guide on how to set it up and use it.

There's no point in duplicating my guide when all that's needed are a couple of extra characters prefixing each fastboot command.

You definitely can't boot into recovery? Most times not being able to get into recovery it's a case of user error. Hold volume down, then hold power (so you're holding them together), when you see the OnePlus boot logo let go of power but keep holding volume down until you reach recovery.

I want to compile AOSP for it and not just root it. Have done it for my pixel but its easier with begin provided propitiatory blobs.
I found this other post on a similar device https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/guide-rca-voyager-rct6873w42-unlock-t3582973
Got into fastboot via usb debugging adb reboot fastboot (There doesn't appear to be a button shortcut to boot into it so you may be SOL even if a rom does come out)
Successfully Unlocked the bootloader
Was able to get a root shell via booting the cwm recovery
Dumped the boot.img, recovery.img via CWM but system failed
Was able to dump system via dd command
Still new to ROM building trying to understand vendor trees and device trees for building an AOSP ROM for it, noticed the system doesn't have a /device folder so a lot of tutorials don't seam too helpful.
Flashing the CWM recovery image from the above link breaks the recovery, had to flash back to old recovery, my next steps are to try and modify the stock recovery to enable adb so if i bork system i can button boot to recovery and use adb to get to fastboot otherwise it will be bricked...

Hi yeah it's been a while since I bricked mine.. still sitting on a shelf as brick.. If I remember correctly when you do the OEM unlock from fastboot it flashes very briefly the screen to the unlock with instructions and button combination. What I did was run the command while using my phone to record the screen so see the instructions, then I went back watched the video to see what they were
I then went back to fastboot got the command ready again got my fingers in position before hitting enter and just tried to be as fast about it as possible and it worked for me.

Fastboot and ADB not working, please help. Tried multiple PCs already

I was working on rooting my device, and had a working root successfully with Magisk. But then I wanted to remove it and relock my bootloader, that's when the trouble started.
I am able to boot the phone and it is working. I can boot to recovery (stock OEM not TWRP), can boot to bootloader, and can boot and use the Oxygen OS. But I cannot get fastboot to run to lock the bootloader. ADB devices comes up empty. These are the steps that I've tried:
-using it on my chromebook that was working with ADB before the unrooting mess
-installed fastboot and adb along with Oneplus USB drivers on a fresh Windows 8 copy
-2 different red OEM oneplus cables
My goal is to return completely to stock and a locked bootloader. Any help would be appreciated, it really seems to be a phone issue and not a driver issue. Thanks everyone!

Are you sure you have USB debugging checked in developer options?
Absolutely. Just checked again. I would normally say it was a driver issue, but it was working fine until I flashed a boot.img and also I used a windows pc and a Chromebook and chrome os pretty much comes ready to talk to android phones or of the box. I was wondering if adb could have been messed up during the flashing of boot images.

Can't connect to fastboot with adb

Hi,
I'm trying to boot a twrp image on my Motorola One Vision without flashing it or rooting the phone. Reason is I want to try it out and also tweek som files but not necessarily rooting it.
I've unlocked the boot loader and enabled developer options and set USB to debugging. When I connect the phone to the computer and use ./adb devices it is detected fine. When I disconnect, reboot and enable fastboot I get the fast boot menu with the options but when I connect it to the computer it will not detect the phone. ./adb devices give no output and ./fastboot boot /PATH/TO/IMAGE.FILE just gives the output "waiting for device". I've tried this from both my windows partition and Linux Debian with the same result. Cables are fine as I can use adb to pull files and such. It's basically in the fastboot menu that it doesn't seem to respond.
The phone is running Android 10 Kane 4.14. I've tried twrp 3.4 but I don't think the image is the issue since it won't respond to commands in fastboot.
Does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting this? Any and all help is appreciated.
Kind regards
Magnus
Ps: Posted this a few days ago in the general Q&A as a suspect it's not necessarily a specific One Vision problem but it didn't get any replies so I'll try here. Sorry if it's a bit of a double post. ds-
I've made some headway and manage to reboot and connect but when I try to ./fastboot boot IMAGE I get the message Validation image failed.
If I understood it correct it's not possible to boot an image in this way which is of an earlier version than the one installed. Is this correct?
I''ve got 4.4 installed, and the image is 3.4.

Question How do I flash stock ROM with locked bootloader?

Hi guys,
so after I got my xiaomi with a global ROM and wanted to update and that is when I accidentally relocked the bootloader. The version of ROM was invalid apparently and wouldn't let me boot and now I'm stuck in fastboot mode.
My problem is as follows:
-can't enter recovery, stuck at fastboot no matter how many times I try and reboot
-adb not working since I didn't enable it
-bootloader locked (miflash says so and it can't unlock it since I didn't check 'oem unlock enable' and I cannot boot ROM so I can't enable it)
-fastboot flashing says 'not allowed in lock state'
-edl mode not available
I've seen tutorials where people opened their phones to force the phone into edl mode via the testing points but is that the only way`?
Any suggestions on how I could unbrick it?
Much appreciated

Hello, My Poco X3 System destroyed itself while I was using it, it showed a glitch screen and turned off. Now I went to flash my mobile through Miflash but it showed the bootloader is locked and now I can't unlock it as the system itself is destroyed and can't do anything. So i wanted to know if i can flash my mobile with cmd as you said above flashing img files one by one or let me know if there is any method to flash my mobile or unlock the bootloader? Please me help bro
flashing is possible with modified firehose programmer (no auth factory loader) or with authorized xiaomi account. both solutions are paid service and cannot advertised here.
please -as always- read the thread you posted in. I can see useful information shared already. wait for other replies.

Hi, try to flash the .img files from the fastboot stock rom whit cdm in fastboot, one by one, some files will give error but skip that, then reboot the phone as normal, it should work.
example:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
etc.

If it were that simple, it would have been known for a long time.
You have already posted about this (post#14).

I had a Mi 9T and by mistake I installed a recovery that didn't correspond to it, the phone got bricked, and the only way to save it was like this, I searched and read everywhere but I couldn't find a solution, flashing the .img files was my idea, I didn't know if it would work but it did.

To install a recovery, the bootloader must be unlocked.
