You must call A&TT to get an unlock code .
With rooting your phone , you could get some applications who can help you too .

Thanks for the reply but it is on contract and why would they give me the code?
After a certain time , you can get this unlock code, it is the law. If you can't get the code from your current carrier , you can still get it on a specialized website.

please let me know if you have any luck man because nothing seems to work, and att acts like your tryna get the code to fort knox when u call
my results after 1 month of digging
I have spent a month trying to find anyway around paying for an unlock code.
I want to use the rooted ATT i537 on TMob but I bought from a 3rd party who did not know the previous owner.
ATT only allows the registered IMEI owner to request the unlock code. See: ATT.com/unlockdevice
Unlock via Programming panel is deactivated on the i537 Gs4A
A code is the only way. The code can be created by a generator program connected to an ATT database but I am not finding a hackers guide to obtaining this mostly because the community approves of protecting all those who are doing it for profit on eBay etc.
Surely some rebel hack out there reading this will PM me soon with the solution. pleeaassee I am about to send the phone back to the seller and just buy another one at the same price which is unlocked or set up for tMobile if I do not get a reply in a week or 2.
thanks

I was suggesting that the poster identify what law he or she was referring to. "2 years" does not identify a law, i.e. a statute. So, I ask again: What law?

Steve, I don't think you are going to get the reply you are looking\hoping for. There is no law forcing the vendor to provide you with an unlock code, ever. All those types of considerations and protections for both the vendor and their customers are provided for by the contract you and the vendor enter into when you two come to an agreement and sign that contract at the beginning of your relationship. The vendor promises to provide services for a period of time and you promise to provide Valuable Consideration "money" for these services. There are LEGAL recourses provided for in the fine print for each of you should either party fail to comply with their promises to the other party. The signing of the contract is what I think the original poster meant by "it's the law". It's not the law but, the contract makes all of the agreements and promises stated within it legally binding. The law is simple contract law. Signing the contract may also limit or eliminate any legal recourse you have against the vendor, so read it carefully as you can sign away any rights you may have had. Now the vendor will usually provide you with an unlock code after your contract ends because they have recovered any loss they took by providing you with a discounted or free phone, That is all they are trying to do and they are entitled to that. They will make provisions for active duty military service members who will be deployed or transferred to somewhere their service is unavailable. If you wish to have your phone unlocked before that amount of time you can pay for that service from thousands of vendors all over the internet or at your local mall. They are everywhere! The phone vendor has no interest in helping you to unlock before the contract ends as your intentions are usually to switch services and default on your contract in which case they will sue you for what you would have had to pay them plus all the legal fees, late charges, interest on the unpaid balance, etc etc etc. So, I hope this fully answers your questions and I can't imagine that it wouldn't as I got long winded as to cover all the bases with all the reasons "why?". I do this to try to avoid all of the "but why...?" responses that can turn a simple posting into a life's work. I also hope this satisfies the moderator's responsibilities to make sure that this site doesn't appear to be just another hackers site with the cover of a legitimate developers forum. I'm a very new member of this site and this is only my second posting. I provide tech assistance on several sites for programming and provide assistance when application or system failures occur and the consumer sends in one of those "OH S**T!! HELP ME!!!" requests and I'll walk him\her through the problem to the solution which usually is read the instructions or learn the language you are attempting to write code in . With all the flavors of linux out there. Good luck Steve and try to remember that when someone says "it's the law", at least 95% of the time they really don't know what they are talking about and that "the law" is what they think it is or want it to be. NuclearDave "David".
Yes, I do get you. I am a lawyer, and I get a bit frustrated when people say this is the law or that is the law without really knowing. I did not really expect them to be able to quote me anything, but hope does spring eternal.

I didn't expect a response from someone in the biz and in your case, I broke it down a little much. Unfortunately, the masses would have required even more simplification. This site's members on average are a smarter bunch. I'm not involved in the biz as at the end of my legal training, the military took a hold of my heart and sole and I spent a bunch of my adult life fighting for peoples rights to be any kind of person or idiot they wanted to be. Sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing. I do consulting for friends in the biz from time-to-time. Civilian only as the present administration and I don't agree on much. I've met and shook the hand of four presidents and I just thank god I left the service before our current president came into power. Once again I'm long winded. "So this is what a courtroom looks like..." I met him "The attorney played by Tom Cruise" while stationed in Virginia. Every time I saw him I quoted that line & we always laughed. PS; If I was incorrect in any way in my initial response to you, Please let me know.
Sincerely,
Nuclear Dave

Today I have started a petition in the Nokia Phones Community for being able to unlock the bootloader on the N7+.
In my opinion that should not be a question - and it is long overdue.
I hope MANY OF YOU WILL SUPPORT THIS and we will be able very soon to have unlimited contol over our device.

i start too "thread" about unlocking bootloader before some days, but inappropriately in private "Developer preview" part of nokia forum... anyway without answer
You could also tweet to CPO(@sarvikas), CTO(@MikkoLJaakkola) of HMD and NokiaMobile(@Nokiamobile). It is a better way to gain visibility.

I joined petition too.
@Micha El I 100% support your petition. I would just like to add something though. Since the new Nokia smartphones are using Android OS and is already part of Android One initiative, I would like to request for Flashing tool, Fastboot & OTA files in order for users to use, update and reflash whenever users need to revert to stock factory firmware just like the Google Pixel series, the Xiaomi Mi A1, Moto X4 with Android One and all other Android One Devices.
today Honor presents his flagship in London... 399€, kirin 970, ... and we are still crying for bootloader

That option should allow you to manually unlock it via a fastboot command prompt, but even though you enable that flag, Nokia bootloader can't be unlocked because it is encrypted.

Done, but I doubt it changes anything.
Maybe if somebody highlighted it to Android Police and they wrote about it...
My post on that Nokia forums thread:
Allowing user to unlock device bootloader and gain full control over the product he bought should be obligatory for every OEM, next to releasing karnel source on the launch day.
C'mon Nokia, you're doing good with Android One, fast updates and Android P beta now. Go on and make your devices developers and moders friendly. We just want to own the device we paid for.

I've already posted on your thread, great work.
I think we should stop hoping, praying and fighting for that HMD will allow bootloader unlocking.
Even Huawei and Honor have stopped providing bootloader unlocking for all new devices launched after 5/24/2018. For devices released prior to this date, it will only be possible for 60 days from then on.
For Nokia phones now there is the alternative method to pay for unlocking the Bootloader. You need 2 setool credits, but the smallest pack you can buy are 30 credits for 90 USD. But even it it would be cheaper, I will never support this rip of.
I have paid almost 400 € for a Nokia 7 plus with wich I can make phone calls and send messages, but not much more, and the reselling price is about 220 - 240 €...
THAT IS WHAT I REALLY CALL A BAD DEAL!

Hi everybody,
yesterday I've open the nokia support app (every nokia user has it on is phone) to ask for bootloader unloking by chat with nokia support.
I asked to the operator why our bootloader is locked and he told me that is a Nokia developers issue.
So I told him to take note of my complaint and share it with Nokia development department.
I think you can use your app too to do the same.
If we do this massively I hope Nokia can hear us and may give importance to our request.
What do you think about it?
IMHO this could be one of most efficient way to have Nokia attention on our request!
Bye,

Hello folks,
So i've recently bought realmeone recently primarily due to its hardware. Am not a big fan of color os tbh and in my limited research found some stuff from the internet
First, the bad bit :
Realme1's twin brother oppo F7 still has no way of unlocking bootloader.
Oppo seems to have disabled (deleted?) fastboot binaries.
Expecting GPL compliance from mediatek SOC is asking a bit too much.
Now the good bit :
Realme1 is project treble ready.
We've had examples treble doing wonders for even obscure mediatek devices like this one.
Root and twrp and custom roms are only possible once we have a working way to unlock the phone. And with the issues like messed up multi tasking atleast on the 3gb variant (which i have by the way) it becomes all the more important to have a good custom rom scene to fall back to if color os becomes too unbearable.
I'd assume anyone whose come looking for realmone here on xda, like me, would want to see some dev support for this awesome device. So I am hoping all you folks would take some time and mail oppo at [email protected] asking to make the device's boot loader unlockable.
For those of us who are laziest here's a draft that you can copy paste but i urge people who have time to make their own mail body so that every mail wont look same
Dear oppo,
First of all, as a user of realmeone, thanks for this great value for money smartphone. Many of us power users in the realmeone community would love to have the option to unlock the boot loader so as to be able to root the device. Rooting is essential to some of us who've been used to some nifty root tools like system wide ad blocker etc. We hope oppo will help us exploit full potential of its hardware by allowing boot loader unlock at the earliest.
Thanks

PS : If anyone knows any other mail id to contact them, feel free to point out I'll add that too here.
Done, email sent! Though I've just ordered my phone and yet to receive it.
We can backup and flash images using miracle box. I mean I haven't personally tried because I don't have miracle box but have seen in the forums that ppl are backing up invidiual images n flashing the firmware back into the device.
I don't know how miracle box works but if some genius can help us then maybe we can make some easy fastboot/sp Tools based tools to flash images..
I'm talking about Oppo f7..
I've already mailed and got response that there's no way I can unlock bootloader and they also told me that it voids warranty and crap so they don't provide that. Regarding kernel sources, they simply ignored it.
I'm going to return the phone back to Amazon. No wonder why XDA opened a forum for OPPO phones which is not developer friendly.

Sorry but had to cancel the order due to stubborn policy of Oppo not allowing bootloader unlock and fastboot binaries. There won't be any development for this phone despite being such a good phone. Heck, I need root for few of my favorite apps and thus can't miss them due to this stupid policy by OEM. No thanks, will wait for Mi A2 or buy Asus zenfone max pro

I just chatted with cc and told him the phone has ram management issues and ask him to check the reviews, everyone is complaining about it. He asked if I need a replacement or return, I politely told him to refund/return, he processed the return request.
This is the first time I ever returned something to Amazon so may be that's why the cc agreed easily. Your mileage will vary. Good luck.

A Request to RealMe Officials
Hi, The RealMe Team
This device really has got the attention of the people with it's specifications, just like how Xiaomi redmi phones did but unfortunately this Locked Bootloader thing is really making me feel as if i am using an Apple, please let the people enjoy their freedom of using an Android. Perhaps in return company will gain more customers.
Thank You.

Has anyone tried the Kingoroot app on the phone? I know MediaTek phones can be difficult to root but I was able to root MTK6737 devices with Kingoroot. It does not unlock the bootloader or anything but it gives you root privileges.
I use Oppo F7 and it won't work on the phone...
Brothers, we need to standup for ourselves and stop this ***** madness.
1. I've sent Huawei many emails, it obviously didn't help.
2. If we start like a mass petition or class action or some other case together, we might stand a chance. Remember we're not the only ones with locked bootloader. / Grayed out OEM unlock in developing settings. The mate 20 pro users and possibly other models have the same issue. We have to team up.
Perhaps we can make an email format here that we copy paste and send to hauwei each of us individually. They would be spammed with say 1 million emails.
3. We have paid allot for this device , an android device should be open and customizable. There is absolutely no valid reason to lock down an android device, unless you as smartphone brand try to protect your spyware .
Anyway are you with me brothers ? Let's get the full potential for the hardware that we paid for. Huawei needs to start offering the bootloader codes again and enable OEM unlock. Period. Other resolutions are not acceptable.

I guess 99,5 % of the users don`t care about root. So it will most probably not happen. Nokia also will not provide help to unlock the bootloader as most other OEMS. Get a Samsung , Xiaomi, OnePlus or Pixel phone if you want root. You buy a phone as is, not how you want it to be.
I do not agree with your mindset. That's a typical beta give up mentality.. no offense.
Huawei used to provide the unlock service service before, and now suddenly it stopped doing so. It can't go without consequences..
I love the hardware and the big screen, there are no better alternatives at the moment.
That 99% of the people doesn't want root, it doesn't mean that the remaining 1% is wrong or need to be neglected. If 1% of the users team up we would have 200.000 plus supporters that can show their voice and that can make this happen.
I am in
Count me in too!! This insolence cannot go unpunished.
Not to play spoilsport but your suggestion would work if indeed a million people request for it. From what I understand, the Chinese version of the Huawei phones can be unlocked without issues. Only the international version has this issue. Considering that the majority of the phones sold would be Chinese (which is their main market) who are not affected and accounting for a minuscule part of the phones they sell for the global audience are that interested in rooting, getting them to do anything has a low probability. Having said that, if root is so critical for anyone, the Chinese version is always an option. Most of the issues are resolved related to the Chinese specific devices

Hello, long time no see you in this xda forum.
Today we will meet again in the issue of Asus Rogphone 5 EDL 9008.
As far as I know, they don't provide any unbrick tools, nor do any technicians support this issue on public social networking forums.
Today I bring you the good news that your device, the 9008 bricked devices, can be repaired with the repair boot firmware that I have dealt with, but it is not free because it is the brainpower of our entire team. We just bring you the good news that the bricked device will be saved, not thrown in the trash like a damaged thing.
Link1: Repair Boot Rogphone5 (tester)-free [Mod Edit] Link Removed
Link2: Fw Unbrick 9008 Rogphone 5 (Success)-buy-or-donate (block link do not share)
I will attach the link of the necessary files, and some pictures that prove that the device will be saved by the gray matter firmware created by highly qualified technicians. Anyone who has experienced this 9008 problem, comment below we will assist you with free tips first, if it still doesn't work, it's time for you to need repair boot firmware and it will be at your expense.
Glad to be able to Unbrick the device for you, as well as bring this great news, which is really exciting and blessed news.
IMG1: First need to flash the repair boot firmware or unbrick through the file reading tools
IMG2: after you guys have finished flashing you can choose to start it manually or auto start it before on flash tool. You can see the start menu will be different from the 3rd photo, because this is the notification menu after we have repaired boot - unbrick successfully, and will show us a lot of information about the device such as: imei1-2-sn-vv.vv for example.
IMG3: this is the last picture, as you can see this is the normal start menu of the device, exactly that, because after the repair boot - unbrick is successful, your next thing is to flash your rom.raw asus via fastboot (bootloader), and re-enter recovery after flashing is complete, and finally wipe data/factory before rebooting the system.
Closing: Here's everything we've done, created them, and proved to everyone that it works. as well as we have successfully saved a series of devices all over the world. From now on you can safely use the device, and don't worry about bricked problems when switching between rom versions, because we have a solution.
So tl;dr you're trying to sell the Qualcomm EDL restore firmware?
I only share information, I'm not selling solutions, if you guys have them for free please share them for free, and make them available to everyone.I repeat, I only share information, I no buy and sell any solution for members of xda

I'm confused.
However just in case I'll ever need it - how much is this not sold free solution?
They charge $70 to unlock your bootloader through TeamViewer, to which they intentionally brick.
And they charge you $150 for the service.
Don't believe anything these people say, and don't trust the files.
This reminds me of the tech sites that claim they will walk you though a full restore without wiping your data and the first step is to wipe your data.

sorry about the issue you raised, however they were created by individual developers, and have been successful, and will have a charter cost.
You need to consider when owning them, at a reasonable cost and right for your needs. Like I said, I share information, and I have no intention of selling it to xda members. because its cost is not cheap, and not right for your needs.
If you can make your own unbrick 9008 or repair boot firmware, for free, use them, and share it for free to the community.
Here I only share information, I do not sell solutions, do not ask anyone to buy solutions.

That's like calling eBay a photo sharing site for preowned items. Since you aren't attempting to sell Qualcomm's internal repair software, I passed the info along to them to see if they could confirm its authenticity.
Shouldn't this post be deleted? I mean it's obviously a kind of scam. Or do I miss something?

If you feel it violates the rules, click the report button in the bottom left.
I kinda feel bad calling it a scam. There isn't even ad revenue to be made.
Well I am not really sure as well but I feels strange to say "I'm not selling it - but it will cost you something, but if you have it share it for free, but I won't give it for free"
Maybe I just misunderstood everything but when I share my software I usually provide a free download link maybe even with a repository and when I sell it I tag a price and make it obvious.
I think this is what they mean by "victimless crime"
I have one last word, for all users who want to save their device but want a free solution, I am afraid that you will spend a lot of time waiting for the free version to be released from the past. who already owns the solution.
Here are some pictures, information I provide, to show that it is a perfect file, works well, and is written by a high-tech programmer according to 9008 standard and only works at port 9008.
This information statement is for everyone who says that this is a scam, trading between members. I repeat, I only share information, I do not want to trade with users.
Because if you are just a normal user, you have no experience, the support tool to fully flash these 9008 firmware...
It is a service for technicians, programmers, and need to rescue the device before throwing it in the trash because there is no way to save it.
#I share information, the solution is only for the whole world, and it is only for shops, phone systems, experienced software technicians, it is absolutely not shared for level users. low level.
Alright, enough is enough...
The pictures only show the raw firmware, but this thread definitely violates a few rules. See https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/xda-developers-forum-rules.4200559/ Section 9, 11, and 12 (3) for the rules in question.

I did warn everybody that this person is not to be trusted.
My mate paid 90 Australian dollars to have his bootloader unlocked. They "unlocked" it (but they actually bricked it) and then they told him that "it's late and they're tired, & they're going to sleep"
So he made a dispute with PayPal to get his money returned, and all hell broke loose with SFMobile.
They started abusing him and insulting him over Facebook Messenger.
He then contacted PayPal and had their account flagged for scamming.
They are not to be trusted

You don't need to convince me.
Good morning everyone
[Thread Closed] for its commercially tainted nature. XDA is about open and free development. We encourage everyone to support the hard working developers that share their amazing work here but paid services does not match that ideology. Even more so if they are not the author of said work. It's a matter of respect and our shared love for development and technology.
Or as put in our Forum Rules:
12. Sharing
XDA-Developers is based on the principle of sharing to transmit knowledge. This is the cornerstone of our site. Our members and developers freely share their experience, knowledge, and finished works with the rest of the community to promote growth within the developer community, and to encourage those still learning to become better. There are those, however, who take advantage of this model and try to make personal gains from the hard work of others.
