USPS lost package. :(

supposed to have been delivered on the 8th of December. my local post office received the package on the 6th of December. still no delivery received.
called their 800-ASK-USPS number today. told them my situation. lady on the phone said she'd open up a ticket for me so that my local post office could look into it. local post office called me, stated they don't have anything pending for me, thought it was weird that I hadn't received it yet. I asked the guy I spoke with what he suggested I do. He stated for me to wait until the first week of January to file a lost shipment claim with them. that way, I'd wait for the holiday season to be over and maybe I'd get my package by then.
any tips as to how I should proceed?
I don't want to be screwed over by the shipping party in that if I wait too long, I can't file a claim with them or with my bank. I placed the order on the 26th of November and it was shipped on the 27th, I believe. or the 28th.
so yeah. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would file the lost package claim now. Post office once deliverers christmas package to me in april...

You have a couple options here buddy.
If you paid for insurance, call USPS and ask for your money.
If you bought on Ebay, file a dispute
If you paid via Paypal, File a dispute
Or, Simply ask seller for a refund
If seller refuses, don't file Paypal or Ebay dispute. Instead, go to your bank and file a chargeback. Ask for the chargeback form and fill it.
I don't think you'll be able to get the package because it's lost. The best you can do is get your money back.
I agree with jlocohustler. Contact the seller for a refund or to ship you another one. And file your lost item claim with the post office now. You're right that if you wait too long, the sender may not want to help you with a claim of not receiving your package. If you paid with a credit card, you can file the dispute with them as well. They will refund your money; I've done that before. One of these options should get you your money back....or possibly two of whatever it is that you are expecting

Just spoke to a knowledgeable rep. Said I shouldn't have been charged the full amount until it ships and is looking into why I got charged already. Said US version isn't shipping until Monday - possibly as early as Friday, but definitely not before Friday.

Didn't say anything about the international version? I thought the US version said the 9th on the page during the pre-order phase. At least it gives me SOME hope, although it may cut close because I'm leaving the country on the 13th I guess at the worst I can tell FedEx to change delivery.

My 11/30 order shipped about 6 hours ago. The Motorola site is being slow with sending shipping emails so be careful. The FedEx site can tell you if anything has been sent to your address, if you sign up for the FedEx Delivery Manager.

Ordered mine Nov 26 and it said it should ship Dec 2. Never did, so I did a live chat with a customer service rep a couple days ago, they said today, Dec 9. Haven't heard anything yet though.

I got the same info - no shipping confirmation yet. I chatted with a Moto rep earlier and they indicated that with handling and 2-day shipping, I'm looking at 4-5 business days. He confirmed that I'd have my device on or before Dec 16th, which is 5 business days from today.

Canadian Carriers Pre-Order Shipping and Waiting Room

Since there are a lot of American and Europe threads on pre-ordered waiting rooms, I've decided to create one for us Canadians who have Koodo, Telus, Rogers, Bell, etc.
For me, I have Koodo. I ordered the Midnight Black Samsung S8 on March 31st. My delivery date says April 17th which is four days earlier than the folks down south. It will be interesting if we do get it that early.
How is everyone's order going thus far? Koodo unfortunately, does not have any tracking system, so I have to wait for an email to popped up in my inbox saying it has shipped. Not being able to check what stage it's on sucks big time.
Feel free to post on how your process is going!
Im telus preordered last week.
Mine says will be delivered as early april 17.
Guess we have to just wait and see.

First time pre-ordering a phone from a carrier. I usually buy it straight from the company but Koodo has a neat Tab system. Paid $700 down and the remaining $350 gets spread out over two years ($15/Month). But then again, I can pay off that $350 anytime.
Rogers phoned me yesterday to let me know the store has received my device and I can pick it up on the 17th Monday morning.

I know people on Rogers and Fido who got their calls that the phone is in and can be picked up on Monday.
I opted for Rogers' "pay now and get it early" option and it looks like mine isn't even getting shipped out until Monday. That's the first and last time I go for that option.
Got my email confirmation! Doesn't say the delivery date yet but I'm sure it's Monday like the rest of you!
Ordered mine from samsung.com lets see if i'll get it this year... maybe i should of went to the store.

It's super smooth and fast.
Let's see how it fairs over time knowing Samsungs history
Feels great in hand S8+
Seeing a little pink/purple tinge in panel which is normal just hope it doesn't get too bothersome...will vary device to device
Had read it had brightest screen of any phone ever...will have to see
Keen on seeing what screen on time I can get tomorrow during normal usage...setting it up as we speak

Retailer Shipping Thread

So if you ordered directly from Essential your phone is most likely shipping(or has shipped) soon, but what about us who have ordered through other retailers?
I'm making this thread specifically for everyone else, to avoid cluttering the shipment thread.
So far I have not yet gotten mine. Sprint has given me different numbers, from will ship from the 31st as it says on my order status page, to it will be shipping from the 8th. Retail stores, corporate stores all have received different information, but the general consensus is shipping will be delayed. Pre-Ordering in store will be avaliable starting today or tomorrow depending on your store.

yep, same thing here. Status page says shipped by 8/31, email says shipped by 9/1, website says 9/8. I spoke to some one via chat and it seems like 9/8 is the ship date. If i dont get a tracking number tomorrow then i will give em a call and see whats up

Sprints shipping page shows it'll ship by 9/8. I'm hoping that means it'll ship any day now. I also ordered the morning of the 17th. It's disappointing to see the note is shipping a week early and we are still waiting.

I ordered from Amazon yesterday (said they had like 9 of them in stock) and got estimated delivery on September 15 but nothing yet.
Just got my shipping confirmation and tracking number through Sprint.

Yeah, I don't even have My Sprint loaded on it, which it was supposed to have.
Yeah it seems you can choose to leave it off your phone. Which is great.

I ordered my 4 XL the moment they went up on the store on the 15th. Credit card was charged immediately. Got an email on the 21st that my phone was "dispatched" and it said it was expected to arrive by the 24th. This lines up with Canada Post's Expedited Parcel delivery standard.
However, even as of the evening of the 24th, the tracking information shows that Canada Post hasn't even received the phone from Google yet. If I knew it was going to be this slow, I would have just waited until the 24th and walked into any store and bought it there instead. Lesson learned.
Anyone else in the same situation? Or did anybody in Canada get theirs from the Google Store already?

I'm getting mine tomorrow (Fri Oct 25) ordered on the 23rd. Got the white XL 64 gig. You'll probably get it tomorrow. There have been times where they don't for some reason scan the packages. Happened to me when I got my Pixel 2 XL.
I'm Canadian (New Brunswick) and ordered right after announcement from Google. Received mine today via Canada Post. Ordered the black 4 XL.
Ordered on the 15 was dispatched on the 22 says it will be delivered on the 25 -28 Edmonton Alberta. From the Google the store..

I had my order completed and my credit card charged literally 30 seconds after the Pixel 4/XL went up for sale, yet people who ordered later already have theirs. I guess the moral of the story is that the Google Store has no consistency.
Did the phone ship via Canada Post for everyone? Perhaps they used different couriers for different regions. I would have been willing to pay for expedited shipping but there was no such option. It's strange since people ordering from the US Google Store had expediting shipping options.
I got mine today. Bought it on the pre-order and it arrived today via Canada Post.

Canada Post came and went this morning, no delivery. Tracking status hasn't changed, still hasn't been picked up from the warehouse.
Clearly somebody messed up. With a purchase of this price, you would think that more care would be taken to ensure that it is shipped out on time and not left sitting in some warehouse for days or potentially weeks.
Well, I won't be buying anything from the Google Store ever again. I'm going to go pick up a 4 XL locally this morning and cancel my Google Store shipment. Based on the current level of incompetence, I imagine they will give me a lot of trouble getting my money back too.
Mine has arrived and processed at Edmonton should be here this afternoon.

Decided to contact Google chat support and the rep told me she needs to transfer me to the shipping team as it seems there is an issue with the device being sent to Canada Post.
Had me waiting nearly an hour to be transferred before I just gave up on waiting.
Leaning towards just cancelling my order and buying the phone from a local best buy or something but I really would love to have that $150 credit for pre-ordering. I also had $50 credit from before so it was helping a bit with the price.
Going to try giving them a call instead of chat and see what happens. Man this sucks, was really hoping to set this 4XL up over the weekend.

Isn't it sickening? There is just no excuse for that kind of incompetence, especially from such a massive company.
What version of the phone did you order? I ordered a white 128 GB XL and it arrived yesterday via Canada Post for me. I'm in Nova Scotia. I ordered mine similar to you, shortly after it was available for preorder on the 15th.
It's possible other versions of the phone (color/storage) did not ship as fast.

I ordered the Just Black 128GB model. Seems like it's the least popular option so I thought it'd arrive sooner than later. Definitely didn't expect for an issue like Canada Post not even receiving the phone :/
