hi guys,
is anyone aware of a Moto Mod Charger to charge Moto Mods independently from a Moto phone?
i don't like the fact that the phone battery is being charged to 100% before any Mod is charged.
there was one announced last year at MWC but i think it never hit the market:
https://www.xda-developers.com/motorola-announces-new-moto-mods-at-mwc-2017/
thanks for any hints.
That would be nice. My Mophie Juicepack has a charging port on the side, they should have done this with all of the mods. I guess you could just find a broken Z and just use it as a charger.

I am looking for a nice quality dual port charger to charge both my Motorola Moto X 2nd Gen and my Nexus 7 Tablet. Recently my Nexus 7 charger took a dump and doesn't seem to be working properly, with that in mind I'd like to upgrade to a "high mAh" charger.
It is my understanding that you can have a 5mAh charger and if you phone only charges at 1mAh it will just use that much amperes, in essence wont harm or help anything. However since my Tablet charger is 2.1A (I believe) I'd need something big enough for that. Obviously there are a slew of these chargers on ebay and most of them from china with little to no quality in their build.
Can anyone recommend a good charger that will charge two devices quickly? Higher the Amps the better (incase of future devices)
P.S. I am aware of the "Turbo Charger" for my Moto X, but I'm looking for a "daily driver" charger right now.
Hi my moto x 2014 does not last more than 12-13 hours is there a battery case or a extended battery that I could buy.. I see a mugen power for 2013 moto x but could not find anything for 2014 model please help.
Give it time for a battery case. I have my 10000mah battery pack with me most of the time just in case. That thing would charge my note 3 three times before I'd have to charge it. Haven't given the moto a test with it.
I have a moto 3000 pack when i need a blip of extra juice. Works great.
I keep one of these on me at all times. Charges my phone as fast as a wall adapter.

Just bought a xiaomi power bank 10400mah : beautiful, wonderful, it just work as it should and all this for only 15€ when other companies try to sell the same between 30 and 40€.
+1 for the xiaomi power bank, best balance between power and price
Look up power case on Amazon I bought one but haven't had much use to it yet since I just got my phone but it's something
mugen case with SD slot
Just saw a mugen case today, haven't ordered it yet since I have one but might check it out next paycheck also it has asd card reader
I found this one. I'm thinking between this one and a motorola battery pack.

I have an Anker battery pack with smart charging and it charges the Moto X as fast if not faster than the wall charger that came with it. Plus I get 4 charges to one full charge on the Anker.
I love my power pack mini. It's not a lot of juice but it's on my keyring, which means I have it literally 100% of the time. It has two features that are kind of money in the bank. The first is pass through charging so I can set up both my phone and pack at night and everyone is at 100% the next day. The second is that it uses motorola connect to be a smart unlock & find my phone device.
So - all that makes it pretty awesome. A tile (which does smart unlocking is $25), and this is slightly larger and comes with 1500mah. It reliably gets me from 30% to 70%.
I'm really happy with it.
I have had and used this on my Droid Turbo, worked great thought I would have no problem using it with my Pure Edition.
http://www.amazon.com/Qualcomm-Cert...400mAh+Portable+External+Battery+Fast+Charger
Now that I have the Moto X Pure I plug it in and it shuts off about 10 seconds after. anyone else have this problem?
EDIT: thats weird seems to be fine now. Wish i could remember what i did to fix it. I was messing with this way and that.
Nope still not working with my Moto X Pure Edition.
Will see if they replace it.
It works with other Quick charge phones like Nexus 6 but shuts its self off about 10sec after turning it on in the Moto X Pure.
I see a few of you purchased this item does it work for anyone else?
They must have changed something on the charging port. I have the nexus 6 too.
I have Android auto, the cord that works for my nexus 6 doesn't work on the moto x. It will flash the debug icon then shut off repeatedly.
But the turbo charger cord from the nexus 6 charger does work.
I know kinda off topic, but I think it is a similar issue.

Other than the Moto X issues, is this a good quality item? It looks like it's made of metal, is that so?
Wait...is this a moto x cable issue or a moto x issue?

This is a 2015 Moto X issue. I have seen other threads in other forums posting this problem (not just me). I did try different cable and same result. I think it because of the wattage.
I email Aunkey about this and no response yet (been 1 day)
This worked very well for my Droid Turbo and yes its metal
Hi Jerry,
Thanks for contacting us.
Because we have no this phone to have a test, and we can not figure out if this phone is incompatible with this item. So we can only give you a full refund for this item. We are afraid a replacement can not solve this problem..So please feel free to tell us if it is acceptable to you.
Waiting for your reply.
Lyn
They offered a refund. I'll take it
I instead ordered this : http://smile.amazon.com/Quick-Charg...?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1442498147&sr=1-22
Will get it tomorow and report back if it works
Okay so I got the Anker Power Core 10050 battery pack quick charge from Amazon today. I opened up the package and plug the battery pack in the phone, it started charging right away for about 20 seconds and then shut off. I unplugged the battery pack and plugged it back in the phone had no idea it was plugged in and ready to be charged, so I pushed the button on the battery pack and it charged for about 30 seconds and shut off. I grabbed a battery pack that is not quick charge and plugged it into my phone and it was fine continue to charge. I plugged back in the quick charge battery pack and it continued to charge for about 15 minutes I looked over and it was shut off again. started the battery pack again went and took a shower and now it's still going looks like it'll make 100% from 60%.
I would challenge anybody that has this battery pack or the other battery pack to try and plug it in from at least 30% battery and let the thread know that its ok or you're having the same issue.
Just curious...what kinds of cables are you guys using? I'm guessing the Pure is sensitive to quality cables since the stock charger is attached.

I had the exact same issue with both the anker cable and another one. Something is wrong. Called anker and they had no clue and suggested it might be a bad unit. I returned it but looking for something else until anker figures it out.

yeah that makes sense but regular chargers work and so does my old Droid turbo 18w Turbo Charger. I have tried multiple cables but the Quick Charge Battery packs have only trouble with the Pure Edition

Do any of you have the older Anker or other external battery packs where it charges? the Anker IQ is suppose to charge the phone at its highest speed. I have two of these and wonder if I would have issues with these or if its just a Quick Charge issue.
With the Anker IQ, charging my LG G3 is pretty quick. Quicker than using the wall unit.
I think it's just a quick charge issue. The battery quick chargers are useless for the pure since they shut off weather you want it to turbo charge of not, you get nothing, no charge

Awesome! Thanks.
For those who are having issues with the Aukey/Anker Quick Charge battery packs, might as well just get the IQ which seems to charge just as fast and with no issues.

Here is all the Anker battery packs - http://amzn.to/1gACOEs
I have two of these - http://amzn.to/1MiGB50
All the basic Anker battery packs come with IQ charging which adjusts the charging speed based on how fast the device can charge. I use it to charge my LG G3, iPad Mini and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10". Has no problem charging one or all 3 devices at the same time.
BTW, you'll need a wall charger to help charge the Anker at a decent speed - http://amzn.to/1YnYYMj

Hello Guys, I bought this Moto x Style few months back. The mistake what I did was charging my phone while playing a game, and the charger pin got bend after which the charger is not working properly. Not working properly means it has to be bend somehow and then it charges and sometimes it Doesn't charge also. I think the charger pin got damaged from inside and I tried the charger on other phones also, still the same.
Does it come under warranty?
If not which is the best charger. As I am in india I dont see the moto turbo charger in the market.
Is the Nexus 6 charger compatible, As I saw some posts about it on the Internet.
Please suggest me the best thing possible.
Thanks
I had just given my turbo charger for service in India. It had stopped working through no fault of my own. Motorola has informed me (only after continuously emailing/calling them) that turbochargers are not available separately in India and it will take more than a month to replace it.
If you have bent your pin they will definitely check the charger for damage as they are very careful with accepting turbo chargers due to the shortage in India. Best bet would be to buy a third party charger (I suggest Tronsmart from Amazon) which will cost you approx Rs. 750-900.
Hello!
Will "30w Turbocharger" charge Moto Z faster than normal 15w charger that comes with the phone?
Has anyone tested it yet?
Thanks in advance
I know people have asked before, but I don't recall seeing an answer from someone that tried it. My guess is no.
I don't know BUT... Moto Z charges really quite fast even with it's provided charger.
Charge faster a phone with integrated battery isn't a good idea at all in my opinion...
I prefer to usually charge it slowly overnight (by using wireless charging provided by Incipio battery mod...) and use fast charger only when really needed... (quite never to be honest... :laugh

Thank you! It's that our battery is smaller. If we could recharge it faster, it would be less than a problem for me

Small BUT we'll optimizer. It lasts more than many 3000 mah phones...
I get nearly the exact same results with my 15w z charger, my brother's 15w z play charger, and the 30w charger I bought from Verizon on sale for $19.99. The difference, if any, is minimal.

That's because the Moto Z and (I believe) Play do not support anything past the Type-C/USB-PD first level power rule (15W), whereas the Force supports a higher-level rule up to 30W. No idea if it's a hardware or software limitation.

Just sharing my experience, the why is immaterial.
I have the 15w z charger and purchased a few 30w moto chargers. Charging times are the same. Amphere shows the same min/max range and similar charging mA rates between the two.

Thanks for sharing. Some people enjoy knowing things are the way they are, however, hence the explanation.
