So here's my unboxing of the UK OnePlus 6, and my first impressions.

I'll be doing some speed test videos soon too e.g. vs OnePlus 5, vs Note 8, vs Galaxy S9 Plus etc
I'll also be doing a camera test video soon, so stay tuned.
so you got the Matte one. Can you tell me if the frame is shiney or not?

Frame isn't shiny, It's just black, looks great.
Can you show VOLTE working?
One of my biggest needs is volte
Having a p20 with volte, my only hold back is volte.

If so, how is it? The mate 9 is close to perfection, but the mate 10 pro is really attractive.
My Mate 9 still works fine. So I would keep to use it.
I was at best buy earlier today and played around with the mate 10 pro for a few minutes. The build and tall aspect ratio was OK but for some reason I prefer the 16:9 mate 9. The oreo update on the phone feels almost about the same. The kirin 970 does feel a little snappier and smooth but overall I would wait for the phone to be under a few hundred dollars. It wasn't like your getting a totally new phone for the money just slightly better specs and the screen was good but not like a night and day difference coming from a mate 9.
Yup, most of the reviews of the Mate 10 Pro were 'meh' The oled screen is the biggest change. The chipset is not all that much faster. When I played with the Mate 10 at BB, I really didn't notice any great bump in speed. My Mate 9 is a year or so old and runs great.
Nope, sticking with the 9...I've only had it 6 months.
I think the Mate 10 Pro is a real downgrade. I don't know why this Pro Version even exists.
No audio jack
No SD card slot
Glass on the back surface
Bad White through Oled
2:1 Display, though this is a matter oft taste
No autofocus in the front facing camera
I would never buy this …

That’s my opinion too!
I have both phones and honestly have not noticed any big difference....

And no wireless charging that could justify this decision. I'm not saying that wireless charging is a breakthrough, but at least you know why do you have glass instead of metal on the back of your phone.
I honestly cannot believe that in 2020 we are going backwards to a teardrop or hole punch designs in flagship phones. I'm stunned that OnePlus views this is an upgrade. Is there any flagship that is full screen ala the 7 Pro? I keep looking for one and haven't seen anything but hope there is a design I missed from any phone maker.

Yes I find a hole in the display quiet a backstep. I have 0 issue with the movable camera. I will anyways stick to the op7pro its still a beast of a phone. I will upgrade to the op9pro.
sadly i don't see the pop-up trend coming back.
It'll be with in-display camera when we'll see a full screen front and that too with 2nd gen in-display camera.s I think the first gen will surely have some visible hole/s.
After I sold my p20 pro I was going to get oneplus 8 pro but after I read about its screen green tint issues I decided to....go for 7 pro instead
I realised I don't wanna pay that much for gimmicks I don't really care about. the deal was great so if the camera is satisfactiory I'll keep it for another 2 years.

I'll wait until they have camera under display with no hole punch.
My 7 Pro works just fine. I got the 12/256GB version at launch so no motivation for the SD865 or 5G.
SD865 doesn't offer enough performance boost (10-15%). I'm not seeing any issues with what I have.
5G is overrated right now.
Just received my oppo find X2 pro this morning from EE.
Brilliant phone!
I recently had the Samsung S20 ultra (exynos) and wow this is miles better ? 12gb ram 512gb storage what a beast?.
I did think it was a dual SIM phone unpon ordering even tho I don't use 2 Sims it seems weird how they removed this feature.
Disappointing not dual SIM.
Lovely piece of kit almost as good as Huawei p40 pro.
It's a very nice screen and very quick but the camera is very underwhelming so far

What issues do you have? You seem to be in the very tiny minority of people disappointed by the camera. According to the online reviews, I can't stop loving it.

The images are too cool. My 18m old mate 20 pro takes sharper pics and my iPhone 11 takes better video and warmer pictures.
Unfortunately I will be returning it unless gcam significantly improves it

That's strange, Find X2 Pro is overall praised for its excellent color reproduction. Detail is also top tier, actually even beating P40 Pro by a very slight margin (in ideal lighting conditions).
My advice is: don't return it. ColorOS 7.2 is about to come (I'd give it 2-3 months before it reaches us) and, among other nice improvements, it releases Oppo Camera SDK allowing other apps (such as Snapchat, Instagram, gcam) use all its lenses.
So if you're willing to wait with maybe a little bit less top-tier camera (perfectly top-tier and well-rounded in my opinion though) by then, you will get a very capable gcam rather soon.
Nah, I will return it. If 7.2 improves it enough I will buy it again at a reduced price
Welcome to England where you can buy things use them and again use them, then you feel disappointed and sen it back, then after couple of days you buy it again but this time cheaper
The phone is good stop whining
I've had the S20 ultra and the iPhone 11 pro and p40 pro this year and I'm impressed with the camera on this phone compared to them and I'm not saying there crap as there all good shooters and there's many strengths and weaknesses in all of them, I think it's very similar to the p40 pro but I prefere the colour this phone produces rather than the p40 pro as the p40 seems over saturated a lot of the time to me where this phone seems more life like.
It's a brilliant phone and I will certainly be upgrading to the next oppo find x next year regardless to what apple and Samsung, Huawei, Google bring out in the future.
Holding this phone compared to anything else, you get to realise how premium this phone is.

The phone is good. But for £1100 I expect more than just good. My 18m mate 20 pro is better in every way except refresh rate and processor. Gone back to that and haven’t looked back
Wouldn't have another SoC other than Snapdragon hence why I didn't get a Samsung or Huawei, Kirin & Exynos will forever be inferior
Out of interest, what firmware version is the EE supplied handsets running?
My SIM free from Amazon is currently at CPH2025CPW_11_A.30
It has CPW in the name which is not showing in the name of the version on their website. ROM versions get a bit confusing! I think Vodafone is VF but not sure if EE has its own version.
Also whilst I remember, if you are in a 5G area, does it work OK and show 5G in the top? I've got 5G enabled but when I do a manual search for providers it doesn't show anyone with 5G but I know the local 3 mast is 5G! I thought that would be in the list
Cheers

I really wanted the 8 Pro when it came out but did NOT want to spend $900+ for a phone.
The only thing i really didnt like on the 8 pro is the slopped display but im gonna be running a case regardless so i dont think that will be that much of a problem with a case.
Then the 8T came out and i like everything about it except that it has a 1080p+ display instead of a 2k.
Now the 8 Pro is only $50 more then the T so which would you get?
FYI im comming from a pixel 2xl (and no i dont want the 4a or 5 they suck)

Most would probably go with 8 pro because of how premium it looks+high res screen+wireless charge+early roms and don't care for 65w charge. 8t users are probably people who hate curved edge screens that's my main reason and the 65w charge is fun to use since this is the first time it's been brought out in the US and the fastest ever so far. People are scared of battery damage but it doesn't really get as hot as I thought just a bit warm and looks similar to 33w warp charge temps on the 8 pro when I checked some tests on YouTube. Plus I don't use wireless charge and I'm not sure how noticeable the resolution difference is because I've been using 1080p forever and don't mind it. 120 hz from 60 hz is very noticeable though but that's on both of these phones anyway
For only 50 bucks more and if you don't plan to pay monthly for either, the 8 pro is looking like a pretty good deal though
I would go with the 8 Pro as well. It's got a larger, higher resolution display, wireless charging, and because it's updates are a lot more solid currently.

Go with 8t or wait for op9. It is rumoured to be launched in April.
Coming from someone who has had both, they are both very nice. I think they are pretty much on par with each other, I liked the pro but there really isnt anything im missing by getting an 8t. The photochrome was removed. I may be biased, i had the in2020 in America so i could not get 5g.

Mostly people are going to use the main camera and ultrawide only. And with gcam, they both work great.
I ordered the 8 pro 12 GB ram 256 gb
I never owned a pro myself but recently I read about it having some screen problems that the 8t doesn't. Is that true?
go with pro
I also was in this decision and after trying 3 8 pros in the shop all of them had display issues so I went with 12/256 8T and it's amazing

Exactly!
Same. Curved glass is a big no from me. I was excited when they said it was a flat screen.

Compared to literally anything else other then Pixel (or apple) they are leaps better
I would of loved to go pixel. But the pixel 5 literally checks 0 boxes for me
I hate curved screens so that's why I went with 8t upgrading from 7pro
The downgrade on display really isn't even noticable
Hello

Deff 8t especially if you can get a deal. If you are in EU there is the 128gb version which is cheaper than p5. In the US its more expensive but you still get a phone that has higher specs and essentially the same cam.
Hey there,
I hear that the pixel 5 has screen issues meaning that it's slighty "off" the bezel. Check it out. I hope I'm wrong.
Where are you thinking of buying your oneplus 8t? Let me know. I have a oneplus 8t. :good:
S9+ is quite good actually. Pixel 5 will be a definite downgrade for you. But 8T is an upgrade in several areas (screen, charging, 5g).
8T for the hardware , Pixel5 for software
100% OnePlus 8T. You get a better version of Stock Android IMO.
Back in end of October, I had had the OnePlus 8T for 2 weeks. Then I wanted the pixel 5 since I thought it just be better.
I returned the pixel 5 after 2 hours.!!!
Screen, sound quality, build quality, brightness etc...the OnePlus 8t wins hands down!!
To me it was not even close.

Couldn't agree more. And the Pixel 5 is supposed to be their "Flagship" device
