I remember those days when people used to laugh if someone had a OnePlus device. Most of them considered it to be just another Chinese crap. And today, owning a OnePlus device means you are using one of the best devices in the world. How time changes people's mindset.
Let us know what is your story/memory with your OnePlus device.
(Since the forum was opened in advance and we don't have anything to do for now, let's have some fun.)
Well.. I was always a Samsung/Apple user before OnePlus and I had almost every Galaxy Note, I used to upgrade every year. When Samsung messed up with Note8 I decided to try another brand and I was kinda scared at first but now I'm in love with my OnePlus phone. It has TONS of amazing roms unlike Samsung devices (especially ones with Exynos) and bootloader is easy to unlock, battery life is great, charging is.. unbelievable and OOS is the fastest rom ever. I love OOS gestures too. It's a device that You can easily keep for years.
Now when all these OP7 Pro leaks come out it makes me want to upgrade lol. The only things that are keeping me away from upgrading are:
1. No money.
2. If I'll sell OP6 I won't be able to keep my OP6 roms up to date and I can't do that to people.. so I don't know..
But we will see. Maybe I'll somehow get the money and get that OP7 Pro beast
I have no memory of the Oneplus?, but the 7Pro has my attention...
I am the one who first bricked OnePlus One in the world
Then again the first who unbricked it.
heres hoping the oneplus 7 can hold its own against the pixel 3 camera... once oneplus can match or beat pixel cameras, good bye google.
I remember the Oneplus One was a flagship device at a very reasonable price, and I thought "Wow these people are really doing things differently". I also fell in love with the design, the openness, well the overall personality of the company.
Now the price has become the same as similar devices, the design is boring, they use proprietary drivers and even the packaging is... meh. I got the 6T and for my next one I'll look at other brands. They've become another Samsung, which is great for them but not what I came for.
I'm using an OP 5T. I like the performance and the OS experience, definetly will go with OP 7 pro.

yes but the oneplus 7 looks promising
the Oppo Reno has a 48MP primary shooter - the Oneplus 7 will take after the Reno - with a 10x optical zoom.
the sensor is a sony IMX587

Sure, we are at +550€ and after 5 years, mono speaker, no IP, no QI, USB 2.0, Galaxy S6 camera, 30W, no 3.5mm, no IR... but this year, with +700€ we will get QHD haha

QHD, 48MP, 3D Front facing camera, UFS 3.1, USB 4.1, inbuilt FP, and some leaks suggests Stereo Speakers, wireless charging is a gimmick IMO. and its 44W charge on the 7 pro
My friend told me about the OnePlus One when it came out but with the invitation scheme and it being "another Chinese manufacturer", I didn't think much about their chances and didn't bother buying one.
Then I started reading a LOT of glowing recommendations and reviews, unfortunately I already had another phone (Nexus 4 at the time) so didn't bother with it.
When it came time to buy a new phone, the OnePlus 2 was out so I bought that, then the 3T, then the OP5 and next it'll be the OP7Pro
Yes l love my oneplus 5 for it's notification led and the headphone jack?

OP7T, as today
I went from HTC One, to oneplus one, oneplus 3, and now oneplus 7
Not sure where I will go from here, Prices have spiraled up and out of control. Back 6 years ago, my needs dictated using aftermarket roms, but these days the stock roms got me covered for what I need to do, and to be honest, I grew tired of constantly messing with flashing etc...
Does anyone have any regrets? I was really wanting to pick up a pixel XL when TMO started carrying them but for some foresaken reason it's not a JOD device. Trying to decide if worth it to get 7 pro or wait for pixel devices to be available for JOD..
Close your eyes and let OnePlus take your money. Get the OP7P and forget it!
You ordered it yet?
Only you know whether or not it's worth it. Myself personally, I switched from the OnePlus 6t to the Galaxy s10+ and then to the 7pro and this is the smoothest, beat device I've ever owned. The camera is a lot worse than the Galaxy but holy cow 256gb memory and 90hz is truly epic

Yeah with the 6T camera is good enough but not great
OSS v9.5.7 improved the camera greatly.
Go Pro and then enjoy Bro...
Install gcam, no regrets...
No ragrets on my end. Still keeping my 6T as an emergency backup phone. 7 Pro cameras are a big improvement from the 6T IMO, but with the Gcam apk I'm using, I'm getting stellar images for when I need to. The refresh rate on this display is one of the top reasons I got it and no notch/punchole too. I never use my selfie camera so this is perfect for me. I still with this had a headphone jack and Micro SD support but I know that OnePlus will never give us that.
Only mistake is I didn't think OnePlus could get better than the 6t... 7 pro so damn smooth.. Not choppy smooth... And that alone got me here
Using the 6T right now going to wait another year for the next year's oneplus model, may be in display camera/Fingerprint scanner that would be cool.
I've been enjoying mine over the 6T although that's not to knock the 6T in any way, it's still an amazing phone.
However, having an all screen display, symmetrical borders and QHD with a 90Hz refresh rate is enough to upgrade for me.
I picked one up today. So far I do believe it's a definite upgrade.
Any of you using the oneplus switch? If so, does it copy over the data with the apps too?
I updated from the op6 and it's a significant upgrade. The 9.5.7 camera improvements have it basically on par with the pixel phone hard on the camera comparisons I've seen on YouTube between the pixel and 7pro..
The ghost touches some were reporting (I tried and couldn't produce them) have been fixed and eliminated.
Just buy the phone and you'll not regret it.
Picked up the 7 pro from T-Mobile today. Used it out of box for a few hours and when I got home with it finally got to play around with it some more. It's now SIM unlocked and converted to international. Will wait a while before twrp and magisk. Overall happy with phone
No regrets whatsoever, love this phone.
People who dont like the pro are usually those who don't have it. Here it's a camera comparison with the pixel. you decide if it's an issue https://youtu.be/UA_CQ4UBgtg
I have a pixel XL3 from Verizon, I'm wondering if anybody has traded their xl 3 And if they have what are their thoughts.
I had been using the pixel 3xl and the S10 plus and just got my 7 pro 256gb 12 ram today and I love it, only thing I miss is the wifi calling on ATT, but I do have VoLTE, pictures are not as nice as the pixel 3 XL, but they look pretty good to me. So I'm happy with my purchase.

They'll give me $430 as a trade-in for my pixel XL3 I thought about getting the 8 gig. Do you really think it's worth the trade in? What are the pros? Can you give me a little bit more information of why you think it's a better trade-in?
I know Google gives the quickest updates for 3 years and I really like that but the ram management blows
I traded my pixel 2 xl for the op7 pro if that matters I skipped the pixel 3 xl because it didnt feel much different and i hated that notch and the big chins.
Me Me Me! I actually still use my P3XL as my work phone (yes, I carry two phones). My thoughts
I LOVE BIG SCREENS, so I wanted the awesome large no notch display
I perfer the OP7P in every aspect, don't regret the switch at all.....except for two things:
1. Being able to screen calls.....man I miss that! At least I can still do it on my work phone
2. P3XL Camera is still better. I got used to being able to take an awesome photo every single time. YOu can get good photos from the OP7P, but it takes more work. I feel the OP7P photo quality is on par with the OG Pixel.
But, the majority of what I do on my phone is, well, I'm on my phone. That screen size and no notch.......AWESOME.
Traded 3XL, Pixel had the lag issues.
1. I miss call screen
2. Camera was better on 3
No regrets, converted TMO to INT OP7P
traded my 3XL because i couldnt stand the lag issue, at times the OP7Pro has better details than my 3XL but @ indoor shots the pixel wins
Funny enough, I did. In a round about kind of way. Got a Pixel 3, traded it for an S10 then traded that for a OP7P. Very happy. If I could root the S10, I may have stuck with that. But I'm happy with this OP7P. Especially since I also have the gcam to step in when the nightscape shots don't perform well enough.
Came from pixel 3 and am much happier. The pixel 3 had bad lag issues. Yes the camera is not as good as pixel but is serviceable at this time. I am on TMobile variant so no camera updates yet for me. The size change from pixel 3 to op7 pro has been fine. I don't have large hands but the size still isn't an issue.

I'm on T-Mobile and I'm considering the switch to INT version. I still have my Pixel 3 XL and the OP7P cannot see the Pixel in camera quality. With that being said, I also have not received any of the latest updates due to me being carrier locked. After you converted, and installed the updates, did you notice a difference in the OP7P camera quality?
If you have young children, you will miss a lot of indoor and fast moving shots on the One Plus 7 Pro. I have it sitting here next to the Pixel 3 XL on 9.5.7. 12GB Nebula Blue, it's going back today. I love everything else, but the camera and lack of wireless charging are deal breakers for me at this time. I WANTED to love this phone.
Didn't trade my 3XL in, just ended up returning it to Google as I was dissatisfied within the return window.
Had issues with the bottom speaker sounding distorted at low volume.
The notch was just as ugly in person (users said you get used to it but I didn't). Turned off the notch in developer settings but that resulted in the screen size being the same as my previously owned Pixel 2 XL. Felt like I was wasting money by not taking advantage of the extra screen that is lost by hiding the notch.
Dealt with extremely poor RAM management.
Had issues with system UI lag. It almost felt like there was an extremely heavy skin on top of Android, when in reality it's stock.
Also had issues with the earpiece making a strange buzzing noise while on calls.
The device cost me nearly $1500 CAD. For a phone that price, I definitely don't expect to have as many issues as I did.
Switched to the 6T and now on the 7 Pro and I am very satisfied. The only issue I have is ghost scrolling but at least it's one issue rather than the handful I had on the 3XL.
One point I'll give to the 3XL is camera. The 7 Pro is definitely not as good but still a decent photo taker nonetheless.
I also skipped the outdated 3XL annual release. Traded my 2XL for a Note9 which I sold for the S10+. But then sold the S10+ and now my OnePlus 7Pro is my favorite overall daily driver!
With the OnePlus 7T Pro coming soon.
Our device was released 6 months ago and to me it seems insane, for just a minor update.
But I wonder if some people do upgrade every six months.
I know it is a little sad and irritating not to have latest device, but really even if I had an extra $500 because every six months I doubt I notice any difference.
It would be a net $500 because I can sell my current device even still with such a minor update I can wait.
Smart phones you can never have that new device feeling long.... next week there will be something just a bit newer and faster.
I probably won't get the 7T but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out on the Pixel 4. Soli aside, the device looks promising (thank goodness that notch is gone)
It's bad enough that we have to deal with Google because of Android and services... Would never buy a Google piece of hardware.

I upgrade from the OP6 to the 6T then to the 7 Pro. I will skip the 7T pro since the update is just too small.
Not really much of a update. My 7Pro still Rock's!
Saw the new OnePlus 7T Pro specs, if they're true, the only difference is the new Snapdragon 855+, which is just minor overclocked version. So no reason to upgrade. They say the camera has an improved macro mode but I doubt that that is more than a small software gimmick.
I'll wait to see what the OP8 brings and maybe the pixel 4 xl. That chin though in 2019
Pretty much the only let down with the OP7 Pro is the wide angle and telephoto lenses are ****. I'll wait for the OP8 Pro. Hopefully we will get periscope zoom lens and 4k 60fps video capture on the wide angle. I actually like the pop up camera on the OP7 Pro, I hope they keep it for next year... If they follow Oppo's shoes then they will try adopt an In display camera..Which will suck.
OPPO unveiled the 65w charging tech. And charged a 4000mah phone in 25 minutes. Hopefully OP inherit that on the Oneplus 8
Went from pixel 2 xl to 7 pro. Only thing I miss is the camera.

Doesnt matter if the notch is gone when it has a whole airport at the top lol! IT just looks like the non 3 XL and Google should really hire a different design team. We're in 2019 and not 2017 lol

Yeah the design still isn't going to win any awards, but I'd still way rather have a bezel than a notch. I hate notches lol
I only buy the regular OnePlus phones... OP5, OP6 now the OP7 Pro. The reason is simple, when I get the phone in May I have the latest SoC (SD855 in this case) for the next year. The T varients are minor tweaks to the regular phones launched in the first half of the year. Why would I buy a phone when in 6 months will have an outdated SoC? This way I buy the phone in May and have the latest for a years time and not 6 months.
And don't go try spouting off about the 7T Pro will have the SD855+. That is just an overclocked 855. You will not see ANY real life performance increases.
If they would flatten out the curve screen more on the Tpro then, I'll go for it. The light reflection on the sides on the 7pro is very annoying.

I went from an Essential PH1 to the 6T then to the 7 Pro.
No point for the 7T to 7T Pro for me.
I'll wait for the 8 pro or 8T Pro. SD865 and other updates.
I upgrade phone on processor cycles.
So the SD855+ in the newer devices is nothing more than a SD855 clocked faster than the current device.
So I see and read all the videos how disappointing the Pixel 4 series is. I'm thinking of getting a One Plus. I see that there are different varieties of the 7 series . On your suggestion please keep in mind thdt I do like My pixel 2xl size. For a big phone it's comfortable to hold and now too tall. I see that the 7 pro is very tall.
So I'm open to hear what you owners think. Also to stay with Verizon , is the One Plus website the only deal ? Lastly would you know what Google features I'd miss or not get
Thanks!

Hey man, I also used Pixel 2 XL since it was released. I was disappointed in leaks of 4 XL so I picked up 7 pro about 2 months ago. Size they are fairly similar in size, weight you definitely feel the weight difference with 7 pro bring heavier. Dimensions they are fairly close if you check. I definitely missed all the Google pixel features but a lot of roms have same experience plus more such as omnirom tresk mod. For the display alone is worth moving from Pixel 2 XL to 7 pro I think. Good luck man.
I've had pixels before, then I tried the OnePlus 7 Pro and have never looked back...
You will miss the Pixel quality camera. Works on Verizon really well. Best Android skin ever. Screen is great, speakers good. I have a 2XL and the 7pro. Android user for a long time. First time I can say in 15 yrs I have been looking at an iPhone. Google can't seem to get out of their own way. Pixel 4/4xl is just the latest example. Good luck.

Great info thanks!
1- What about buying?
2-I want to stay with my current line would I better off buying direct from One plus? They have the finance offer.
3- How is their launcher? customization ? At least equal to the Pixel Launcher or close to Nova?
4- What features did you miss from the Pixel?
Thanks
I came from the Pixel 2XL om Verizon network. I've had mine just a few days
1 - Bought mine direct from OnePlus. Guarantee it would work on Verizon network that way. Just make that phone call to switch to CDMA Less.
2 - I pay cash for all my phones. I did see financing on OnePlus site though.
3 - I used Nova Launcher on day one that I bought the Pixel 2, I also used it on the Nexus 6P before that. I'm currently using the Stock launcher on the Oneplus. I can honestly say that the Oneplus launcher feature rich and that I don't miss Nova at all. Probably the only reason I ever really used Nova is because of the stupid Google search bar on the Pixel 2 and 6P. You don't have that problem on Oneplus, You can remove it I would say its closer to Nova to answer your question.
4 - I think the only thing I'll miss is the free original quality uploads to Goggle Photos. The pixel 4 does have the original picture quality upload and no finger print sensor so those 2 things were the deal breaker for me for the price point they are asking for the Pixel 4XL with only 6 GB / 128 GB
I bought the 12 GB / 256 GB version. Gotta love those specs more that anything over the pixel series.
Hope this helps in your decision. Feel free to ask anything else.
Hey Jeff , nice write-up!
I thought that one of the beefs is that the p4 does not upload original photo quality for free.
How would I know if I should get the 7 or 7t?
Plus is it true that it comes with a screen protector out if the box.?
Thanks

1. i have the 7 / 7T & the 7T Pro, if you're into heavy gaming i'd suggest you pick up the the 7T Pro, if not, the 7 Pro performs really well on the 12GB ram version.
2. Yes, all of the OnePlus 7 devices come with a pre-installed screen protector & a silicon case inside.
If you have more questions, feel free to shoot them my way
Jeff,
What about warranty advice?
Also, do you think my pixel sim would work or do I ned to contact Verizon for a new sim?
Plus, the One Plus website doesn't offer the 12GB ram version yet, only Amazon. . I think I may go for the 8. I can't justify the price and as is I''m going from 4 to 8.
Thanks
I must say... If you rely on a good cam, the OP should be not your choice. Unfortunately.
But if not, everything speaks OP7pro. The screen is amazing, performance great. 90hz ftw!
And i don't think the 7t pro is necessary. Unless you game a lot.

Did anyone see my last couple questions-
Warranty advice
Can I take my pixel sim and plug it into the OP?
On buying I think I'd go with the 8GB. May this time around to enjoy a little money saving. I'm kind of tired buying super expensive phones. Plus I'd be going from 4 to 8GB.

Yes you can use your sim on it
Since you're going for the 8GB ram one, If the difference between it and the 7T Pro is not sky high, take the 7T Pro.

I decided to swap my Pixel 2 xl on Oneplus 7 Pro 5g and it was serious mistake. Advantages of Oneplus 7 pro in compare to old one Pixel 2 xl are;
- ultra wide angle
- phone is a little more responsive but it's not really something which makes noticeable difference for me. I know that most nerds cannot prevent erection while talking about oneplus 7 performance but I don't share their experience at all
- fast charging is huge improvement especially in compare to Pixel 2XL
However the Pixel 2 XL also has a lot advantages in compare to Oppo Oneplus 7 Pro;
- Absolutely everything else is much much better in Pixel 2 XL. I even prefer Pixel screen because of curved display is probably the worst 'improvement' in smartphones history.
Pixel 2x is much better overall device in my opinion than Oppo op7p. I was able to find out three Oppo advantages over Pixel however if compare to g8s and probably any other flagship it's worth nothing. As example I will compare with LG G8s;
- ultra wide angel in LG is wider and overall camera experience are better mainly while recording
- G8s is still very responsive and in daily tasks the same lightning fast like OP7P
- Faster charging in Oppo is worth absolutely nothing because of limited compatibility with my chargers and it will never replace wireless charging
OnePlus is not water resistant. It's not a problem for me at all in normal circumstances but this phone has quite large gaps not only between frame and back which collect a lot of dirt. It's look terrible and I have never seen that in any other flagship. Overall Oneplus is good phone but it's not flagship. This phone is rather very good mid ranger with flagship soc because everything expect soc, ram and storage is in oneplus far worse than in any flagship phone on market. I regret that I bought this phone. Swapping Pixel 2 xl on Oneplus 7 pro was huge downgrade for me.

First of all, it's his own opinion, it should not affect what you decide on buying or not.
To simply put it out for you, if you want an AMAZING camera, don't buy the oneplus, if you want a good camera, then go for it. That's for the camera only.
As far as the reply from the guy/girl above, i have really no idea why the negative bash over the OnePlus, i've been a OPO user since their 1st device, and tbh i've never..EVER.. considered any of thir devices a Flagship or a Flagship killer like they say.
The OnePlus 7 Pro and the 7T and the 7T Pro, i have all three, and all three are performing AMAZINGLY for me in all situations, except for the camera, when it comes to taking pics i user another device, but that does NOT mean the OnePlus camera is bad, no, you just cant expect it to perform like the Pixel phones, that is all.
You want the OnePlus to perform super good camera wise? Get the GCam port APK and unleash the camera powers with that
Again, like i said, go for the 7T Pro, since you're aiming for the 8GB Ram 7 Pro, if the price difference is not huge

Jeff,
What about warranty advice?
Also, do you think my pixel sim would work or do I ned to contact Verizon for a new sim?
Plus, the One Plus website doesn't offer the 12GB ram version yet, only Amazon. . I think I may go for the 8. I can't justify the price and as is I''m going from 4 to 8.
Thanks

1 - I do not have a warranty on mine. You have 30 days after purchase to signup for whatever it is Oneplus is selling. I probably won't get insurance at all.
2 - I just switched my sim from the Pixel 2 to the Oneplus 7 Pro and called Verizon's 800 number and talked to tech support and they did the switch my device to CDMA less over the phone. Took just a few minutes.
3 - I though about going for the 8 myself over the 12. I used my sons student beans discount so I got mine for just a little over $700. If I did have the discount I would have gotten the 8 for sure. Plus buying from Oneplus you can avoid paying tax. That is it or miss on Amazon these days. Far as 7 pro 12 Gig Ram, I see its no longer available on Oneplus web site. They must be out of them.
To answer a few questions from your other posts:
1 - I know can always pay to have your photos upload to original quality to goggle photo/cloud service. But free is free. And it was free on the Pixel 2, lol.
2 - Yes the screen protector comes pre-installed. They also give you a nice clear silicon case as well.
3 - I would of considered the 7T if it came with 256 memory or a Micro SD slot.
4 - Far as that negative review. I would take that with a grain of salt. You show me a new flagship phone and I will show you a negative review, lol.
IMHO, I feel that OP7 Pro is superior to the Pixel 2XL in every way. Even the Camera with its 3 lenses. You won't be disappointed.
To Inpain and JeffBea, Thanks!!!
Now I'm a bit on the fence for the 7T pro or the 7pro.
I'm not a gamer
I want a good camera, but it;'s not a deql breaker.
I'm a performance guy but I'll probably go for the 8 Gig on either model. Can't see spending the extra $200 plus unless you have a serious case to persuade me
Thanks Again,
Rich

If that 200$ is the price difference between the 7 Pro and the 7T Pro, and you're not a gamer like you mentioned, then go for the 7 Pro
