I have a pixel XL3 from Verizon, I'm wondering if anybody has traded their xl 3 And if they have what are their thoughts.
I had been using the pixel 3xl and the S10 plus and just got my 7 pro 256gb 12 ram today and I love it, only thing I miss is the wifi calling on ATT, but I do have VoLTE, pictures are not as nice as the pixel 3 XL, but they look pretty good to me. So I'm happy with my purchase.

They'll give me $430 as a trade-in for my pixel XL3 I thought about getting the 8 gig. Do you really think it's worth the trade in? What are the pros? Can you give me a little bit more information of why you think it's a better trade-in?
I know Google gives the quickest updates for 3 years and I really like that but the ram management blows
I traded my pixel 2 xl for the op7 pro if that matters I skipped the pixel 3 xl because it didnt feel much different and i hated that notch and the big chins.
Me Me Me! I actually still use my P3XL as my work phone (yes, I carry two phones). My thoughts
I LOVE BIG SCREENS, so I wanted the awesome large no notch display
I perfer the OP7P in every aspect, don't regret the switch at all.....except for two things:
1. Being able to screen calls.....man I miss that! At least I can still do it on my work phone
2. P3XL Camera is still better. I got used to being able to take an awesome photo every single time. YOu can get good photos from the OP7P, but it takes more work. I feel the OP7P photo quality is on par with the OG Pixel.
But, the majority of what I do on my phone is, well, I'm on my phone. That screen size and no notch.......AWESOME.
Traded 3XL, Pixel had the lag issues.
1. I miss call screen
2. Camera was better on 3
No regrets, converted TMO to INT OP7P
traded my 3XL because i couldnt stand the lag issue, at times the OP7Pro has better details than my 3XL but @ indoor shots the pixel wins
Funny enough, I did. In a round about kind of way. Got a Pixel 3, traded it for an S10 then traded that for a OP7P. Very happy. If I could root the S10, I may have stuck with that. But I'm happy with this OP7P. Especially since I also have the gcam to step in when the nightscape shots don't perform well enough.
Came from pixel 3 and am much happier. The pixel 3 had bad lag issues. Yes the camera is not as good as pixel but is serviceable at this time. I am on TMobile variant so no camera updates yet for me. The size change from pixel 3 to op7 pro has been fine. I don't have large hands but the size still isn't an issue.

I'm on T-Mobile and I'm considering the switch to INT version. I still have my Pixel 3 XL and the OP7P cannot see the Pixel in camera quality. With that being said, I also have not received any of the latest updates due to me being carrier locked. After you converted, and installed the updates, did you notice a difference in the OP7P camera quality?
If you have young children, you will miss a lot of indoor and fast moving shots on the One Plus 7 Pro. I have it sitting here next to the Pixel 3 XL on 9.5.7. 12GB Nebula Blue, it's going back today. I love everything else, but the camera and lack of wireless charging are deal breakers for me at this time. I WANTED to love this phone.
Didn't trade my 3XL in, just ended up returning it to Google as I was dissatisfied within the return window.
Had issues with the bottom speaker sounding distorted at low volume.
The notch was just as ugly in person (users said you get used to it but I didn't). Turned off the notch in developer settings but that resulted in the screen size being the same as my previously owned Pixel 2 XL. Felt like I was wasting money by not taking advantage of the extra screen that is lost by hiding the notch.
Dealt with extremely poor RAM management.
Had issues with system UI lag. It almost felt like there was an extremely heavy skin on top of Android, when in reality it's stock.
Also had issues with the earpiece making a strange buzzing noise while on calls.
The device cost me nearly $1500 CAD. For a phone that price, I definitely don't expect to have as many issues as I did.
Switched to the 6T and now on the 7 Pro and I am very satisfied. The only issue I have is ghost scrolling but at least it's one issue rather than the handful I had on the 3XL.
One point I'll give to the 3XL is camera. The 7 Pro is definitely not as good but still a decent photo taker nonetheless.
I also skipped the outdated 3XL annual release. Traded my 2XL for a Note9 which I sold for the S10+. But then sold the S10+ and now my OnePlus 7Pro is my favorite overall daily driver!

Hi,
I am a Nexus 6P owner and had been holding out for the P3, but the prices for it are too expensive for me.
As such my two options at the moment are the Huawei P20 Pro or the Pixel 2XL.
My main gripes with the Nexus 6P were:
Battery issues - I had the early shutdown problem at 30%. it got fixed by Huawei, but 5 months later I can see evidence it's happening again.
Bluetooth in Car - My car stereo (Alpine CDE-133BT) used to be able to control the phone to skip tracks but doesn't any more, not sure if this was after the update to Oreo.
Lag - I had to turn off animations in an attempt to speed things up.
Camera - Despite able to take some great quality shots, it became quite laggy opening the camera up to take a photo, missed a few shots because of it.
Ive noticed a few forums discussing recent lag, and battery issues after upgrading to Pie, which is concerning for me if I'm soon to buy.
Camera quality and speed of shots is important to me, as well as battery life.
Would the Pixel 2 XL still be a good buy for me? Would be interested to hear from those who have had experience with the P20 Pro too, on how it compares as a phone.
Thanks
if camera quality and speed of shots is important to you then you will hate the p20 pro. i tried to switching from my pixel 2 to the p20 pro and i just couldnt do it. the 20 is capable of taking some amazing photos but it is horribly inconsistent....at least thats my opinion..
I think I will make the same decision between this two. I am currently using iPhone 6 and it is time for change. Pixel 3, iPhone X’s this are too expensive phones for me. Camera quality is important to me. My only issue with pixel is 4gb ram. I am afraid of this phone to become laggy in few months.

I've had the Pixel 2 since April with no noticeable change of speed

I've bought pixel 2XL and had really bad experience with it's screen. I ended up exchanging XL for the smaller brother and have no regrets! I have black Pixel 2 128gb. An amazing phone it is!!!
I have a ZTE Axon 7 (Nexus 5 before that) .. and it is time to change ... but I am put off a bit by the high Pixel 3 pricepoint - whereas the Pixel 2 has seen a pretty good discount in many markets .... can see it in Google Store (UK) for 479 pounds or a few (non-Google) sites in France for around 520 Euros.
As a number of reviews seem to say that the difference between the 2 and 3 is not worth to upgrade ... would I be happy with a Pixel 2 ?
Everything I read is that it is a great device ...
Im planing to get op7 pro instead of my pixel 3 xl.
It's very important to me selfie camera quality photos and main cameras too, battery life!!! This is the main reason for me-battery life suck in pixel 3 xl! Is it worth to buy it or wait for Pixel 4?
If camera quality is important, wait for the Pixel 4. For literally everything else, OnePlus is superior - in my opinion at least.
Although oneplus camera got very good, I think it's still not on the Pixel level. So if you need the Pixel camera, wait for Pixel 4.
For everything else, OnePlus does it.

I did just that. Even though I'm happy, i would wait for Pixel 4.
Wait for the 4. Sounds like the camera is your main need. For me, everything else is better. Camera is good, just not pixel good.
Imho my op7 pro and pixel 3 take almost identical photos
Coming from the Pixel 3 XL, I was a little disappointed with the camera at first, but the rapid pace of camera updates has greatly improved the cameras. I was just growing so bored of the 3 XL. The OnePlus just has so much more to offer without rooting. For me, the main to get the Pixel was actually the quick updates and the deep Google integration, but after 3 years of using their phones they just got too boring and lagged behind in terms of hardware tech. Plus the premium price of the 3 XL was simply not worth it. I regret getting that phone.
Coming from 3XL and I only miss a little bit the camera. But OP7P camera is just fine, SD 855 is superb and the display without any kind of notch and 90 Hz refresh rate are awesome. Even with all of this going to full up throttle I'm getting 7 and a half hours of SOT. Even warp charge is a deal changer...

I don't think it is bad personally. I don't take that many selfies to begin with either, but I don't have any complaints. I think most of the times quality is subjective too when it comes to cameras on smart phones these days. Since I got the phone, camera quality has definitely improved and from I am reading on the OnePlus community and other news sites, camera quality is something OnePlus is really working on.
If you want best camera, then wait for Pixel 4 with big bezel, forehead hump, expensive, etc. If you want everything else, then get the 7Pro! ftw
I'm a big Nexus / Pixel user but I have to say the last few Google phones have been pretty crappy and battery life for me.
Nexus 6P blew for battery life
Pixel 2 XL had better life but nothing amazing
Pixel 3 XL almost seems a little worse than the 2 XL for battery life. Right now this 3XL is mediocre for battery.
And I have to say this Pixel 3 XL performance-wise is okay but it's not as smooth as I would expect from a stock pure Android phone
My 3xl.would get 5 hours SOT on a good day
My 7pro gets 6-7 hours on a BAD day
3xl LAGS like hell
If you're as sensitive as I am the 3xl will bug the living hell out of you.
Those micro stutters and lags destroy the entire user experience

Same had 2 3xl's and got rid of both of them. Not a great experience with either other than photo quality. Day to day they sucked as devices.
I have both and I like everything about the 7 except the issue with auto brightness.
Cameras are great but not like the xl 3
The OnePlus 7 pro is a great phone and is better than the 3 XL. But the 3 XL isn't a bad phone
I've had the Nexus 6p and the pixel 2 XL. There are little things I miss about stock Android, but this phone is awesome. I find myself fighting the battery optimizations, but I have to assume that there is more battery optimization and or RAM Issues on the pixel 3xl. . my friend may have a faulty unit but he claims that he hasn't been getting great service and he said performance issues. That said even I am doing everything I can to hold off on the 4XL. There are still things I'm trying to understand and work around with this phone but I know it's already got twice The ram as the pixel they are going to push out.
Camera keeps getting better on this thing. Noticeable differences with updates. The selfie cam is actually pretty good and not having that hideous notch would be worth it to me

I have to agree with others here, the ONLY thing the Pixel has over the 7 Pro is the camera quality. And that doesn't mean the 7 Pro is bad, it's stunning if you ask me! But Pixel beats it there. LITERALLY everything else about the 7 Pro blows the Pixel out of the water. Question is, how much do you use your camera? Deal breaker right there!
I can't believe people suggest waiting for pixel 4. Did you see all the gimmicky "features" Google is pushing? Pixels are overpriced and ugly. After so many misses, are they going to make the perfect phone? Don't waste your time with it. I was going between Google and OnePlus last 5 years and 7 pro is the best phone I had since Nexus 6, and it will only take better iteration of 7 pro to make me switch. If you are photographer, buy professional camera. For anything else, OnePlus cameras are great. I love zoom, macro, wide, so much fun getting great shots.

Yes. I came from a 3xl and the only thing that doesn't crush it is the camera. the specs (256gb, 12gb ram, 90hz display, sd855), the price (which wasn't even a consideration, paid full retail for my 126gb 3xl and my Ph-1) makes it a no-brainer. I considered the Pixel 4, but I'm sick of the hardware designs always being 2+ years behind. The notch on the 3xl was absurd and I did not use the wide angle selfie camera a single time except the day I got the phone to test it. I much prefer the no-notch clean look of the 7 pro. The only downside is if the Pixel camera is a 10, the 7 pro is a 7-8ish (portrait mode is lacking pretty bad in comparison especially).
I'm a current Pixel 2 XL owner and are due an upgrade in a couple months. After reading the Pixel 4/ 4XL reviews I'm not sure if I'll go for the P4 series. So many reviewers rave about the One Plus series phones.
I'm on Verizon, so if I were to get a One Plus which one would be lateral move or improvement over the P2 XL. I'd also love to have 5G, but if there are arguments against that I'll listen. I'm all about performance. I want a great camera but I don't need THE best one.
Thanks!
I had the pixel2xl on verizon (rooted) with Q and honestly it is the perfect phone and I did not have to upgrade! But honestly 12 gig and 256 storage!!! at 800 bucks!!!! I had to do it and even though still on Pie waiting for stable Q. I do not regret it!!!!!
I made the switch from a P2XL to a 7 Pro, and there are some things I miss about the Pixel:
1) Unlimited photo backup at original quality
2) Call screening and Now Playing
3) Camera quality
Even with these differences, though, I am glad I switched. The screen quality, speed, and price simply cannot be beat.

Not sure if you heard, the P4's don't give you the photo backup at original quality
I've owned a OnePlus 5, 5T, 6, 6T and now currently have a 7 Pro.
I'm switching to the 4 XL for the following reasons
- Better Tasker integration with the Pixel ROM vs OOS. Automating things like night light and vibrate mode are a bit more cumbersome on OxygenOS.
- Better camera. I know many will tell me to just use the Google camera port, but I'd rather not mess around with finding the correct APK and messing around with XML files to find what suits me best. I'd rather just have a phone that natively supports GCam and is more of a plug-and-play type scenario. The ports also don't allow for portrait mode pics unless it's a person.
- I'm in Canada and on Fido, and they don't support VoLTE or VoWiFi on devices they don't sell themselves. I've owned a Pixel XL, 2XL and 3XL for a short while and having VoLTE actually makes a difference in call quality. It's something I want to have again.
- Day one updates. OnePlus does push out updates pretty fast but it's nice to have the monthly patches with Google.
- Small bonus is wireless charging. I use my phone as a remote for my TV so having it lay flat on my side table and have it charge without me having to plug anything in is super convenient.
Unless I forgot something, basically everything else I'd probably stick with OnePlus. Honestly, if the camera was better and had VoLTE support, I would have kept it and lived with the rest of the 'issues'.
The 7 Pro is my first OnePlus and I haven't looked back! It's the Nexus unofficial inheritance...

How is your LTE speed? I can get online while in concrete building downtown....
I switched from the Pixel 2xl to the OnePlus 7 pro and am still highly impressed at how big the performance gap is. I can now open an app in the morning before work and when I get off all my apps are still in memory at the same position I left them.
i switched as well from pixel 2 xl to op7 pro. The only thing i miss is the call screening/block robo calls. I have been getting at least 3 per day.
So I see and read all the videos how disappointing the Pixel 4 series is. I'm thinking of getting a One Plus. I see that there are different varieties of the 7 series . On your suggestion please keep in mind thdt I do like My pixel 2xl size. For a big phone it's comfortable to hold and now too tall. I see that the 7 pro is very tall.
So I'm open to hear what you owners think. Also to stay with Verizon , is the One Plus website the only deal ? Lastly would you know what Google features I'd miss or not get
Thanks!

Hey man, I also used Pixel 2 XL since it was released. I was disappointed in leaks of 4 XL so I picked up 7 pro about 2 months ago. Size they are fairly similar in size, weight you definitely feel the weight difference with 7 pro bring heavier. Dimensions they are fairly close if you check. I definitely missed all the Google pixel features but a lot of roms have same experience plus more such as omnirom tresk mod. For the display alone is worth moving from Pixel 2 XL to 7 pro I think. Good luck man.
I've had pixels before, then I tried the OnePlus 7 Pro and have never looked back...
You will miss the Pixel quality camera. Works on Verizon really well. Best Android skin ever. Screen is great, speakers good. I have a 2XL and the 7pro. Android user for a long time. First time I can say in 15 yrs I have been looking at an iPhone. Google can't seem to get out of their own way. Pixel 4/4xl is just the latest example. Good luck.

Great info thanks!
1- What about buying?
2-I want to stay with my current line would I better off buying direct from One plus? They have the finance offer.
3- How is their launcher? customization ? At least equal to the Pixel Launcher or close to Nova?
4- What features did you miss from the Pixel?
Thanks
I came from the Pixel 2XL om Verizon network. I've had mine just a few days
1 - Bought mine direct from OnePlus. Guarantee it would work on Verizon network that way. Just make that phone call to switch to CDMA Less.
2 - I pay cash for all my phones. I did see financing on OnePlus site though.
3 - I used Nova Launcher on day one that I bought the Pixel 2, I also used it on the Nexus 6P before that. I'm currently using the Stock launcher on the Oneplus. I can honestly say that the Oneplus launcher feature rich and that I don't miss Nova at all. Probably the only reason I ever really used Nova is because of the stupid Google search bar on the Pixel 2 and 6P. You don't have that problem on Oneplus, You can remove it I would say its closer to Nova to answer your question.
4 - I think the only thing I'll miss is the free original quality uploads to Goggle Photos. The pixel 4 does have the original picture quality upload and no finger print sensor so those 2 things were the deal breaker for me for the price point they are asking for the Pixel 4XL with only 6 GB / 128 GB
I bought the 12 GB / 256 GB version. Gotta love those specs more that anything over the pixel series.
Hope this helps in your decision. Feel free to ask anything else.
Hey Jeff , nice write-up!
I thought that one of the beefs is that the p4 does not upload original photo quality for free.
How would I know if I should get the 7 or 7t?
Plus is it true that it comes with a screen protector out if the box.?
Thanks

1. i have the 7 / 7T & the 7T Pro, if you're into heavy gaming i'd suggest you pick up the the 7T Pro, if not, the 7 Pro performs really well on the 12GB ram version.
2. Yes, all of the OnePlus 7 devices come with a pre-installed screen protector & a silicon case inside.
If you have more questions, feel free to shoot them my way
Jeff,
What about warranty advice?
Also, do you think my pixel sim would work or do I ned to contact Verizon for a new sim?
Plus, the One Plus website doesn't offer the 12GB ram version yet, only Amazon. . I think I may go for the 8. I can't justify the price and as is I''m going from 4 to 8.
Thanks
I must say... If you rely on a good cam, the OP should be not your choice. Unfortunately.
But if not, everything speaks OP7pro. The screen is amazing, performance great. 90hz ftw!
And i don't think the 7t pro is necessary. Unless you game a lot.

Did anyone see my last couple questions-
Warranty advice
Can I take my pixel sim and plug it into the OP?
On buying I think I'd go with the 8GB. May this time around to enjoy a little money saving. I'm kind of tired buying super expensive phones. Plus I'd be going from 4 to 8GB.

What advice do you need regarding warranty ?
Yes you can use your sim on it
Since you're going for the 8GB ram one, If the difference between it and the 7T Pro is not sky high, take the 7T Pro.

I decided to swap my Pixel 2 xl on Oneplus 7 Pro 5g and it was serious mistake. Advantages of Oneplus 7 pro in compare to old one Pixel 2 xl are;
- ultra wide angle
- phone is a little more responsive but it's not really something which makes noticeable difference for me. I know that most nerds cannot prevent erection while talking about oneplus 7 performance but I don't share their experience at all
- fast charging is huge improvement especially in compare to Pixel 2XL
However the Pixel 2 XL also has a lot advantages in compare to Oppo Oneplus 7 Pro;
- Absolutely everything else is much much better in Pixel 2 XL. I even prefer Pixel screen because of curved display is probably the worst 'improvement' in smartphones history.
Pixel 2x is much better overall device in my opinion than Oppo op7p. I was able to find out three Oppo advantages over Pixel however if compare to g8s and probably any other flagship it's worth nothing. As example I will compare with LG G8s;
- ultra wide angel in LG is wider and overall camera experience are better mainly while recording
- G8s is still very responsive and in daily tasks the same lightning fast like OP7P
- Faster charging in Oppo is worth absolutely nothing because of limited compatibility with my chargers and it will never replace wireless charging
OnePlus is not water resistant. It's not a problem for me at all in normal circumstances but this phone has quite large gaps not only between frame and back which collect a lot of dirt. It's look terrible and I have never seen that in any other flagship. Overall Oneplus is good phone but it's not flagship. This phone is rather very good mid ranger with flagship soc because everything expect soc, ram and storage is in oneplus far worse than in any flagship phone on market. I regret that I bought this phone. Swapping Pixel 2 xl on Oneplus 7 pro was huge downgrade for me.

This phone is rather very good mid ranger with flagship soc because everything expect soc, ram and storage is in oneplus far worse than in any flagship phone on market. I regret that I bought this phone. Swapping Pixel 2 xl on Oneplus 7 pro was huge downgrade for me.

First of all, it's his own opinion, it should not affect what you decide on buying or not.
To simply put it out for you, if you want an AMAZING camera, don't buy the oneplus, if you want a good camera, then go for it. That's for the camera only.
As far as the reply from the guy/girl above, i have really no idea why the negative bash over the OnePlus, i've been a OPO user since their 1st device, and tbh i've never..EVER.. considered any of thir devices a Flagship or a Flagship killer like they say.
The OnePlus 7 Pro and the 7T and the 7T Pro, i have all three, and all three are performing AMAZINGLY for me in all situations, except for the camera, when it comes to taking pics i user another device, but that does NOT mean the OnePlus camera is bad, no, you just cant expect it to perform like the Pixel phones, that is all.
You want the OnePlus to perform super good camera wise? Get the GCam port APK and unleash the camera powers with that
Again, like i said, go for the 7T Pro, since you're aiming for the 8GB Ram 7 Pro, if the price difference is not huge

Jeff,
What about warranty advice?
Also, do you think my pixel sim would work or do I ned to contact Verizon for a new sim?
Plus, the One Plus website doesn't offer the 12GB ram version yet, only Amazon. . I think I may go for the 8. I can't justify the price and as is I''m going from 4 to 8.
Thanks

1 - I do not have a warranty on mine. You have 30 days after purchase to signup for whatever it is Oneplus is selling. I probably won't get insurance at all.
2 - I just switched my sim from the Pixel 2 to the Oneplus 7 Pro and called Verizon's 800 number and talked to tech support and they did the switch my device to CDMA less over the phone. Took just a few minutes.
3 - I though about going for the 8 myself over the 12. I used my sons student beans discount so I got mine for just a little over $700. If I did have the discount I would have gotten the 8 for sure. Plus buying from Oneplus you can avoid paying tax. That is it or miss on Amazon these days. Far as 7 pro 12 Gig Ram, I see its no longer available on Oneplus web site. They must be out of them.
To answer a few questions from your other posts:
1 - I know can always pay to have your photos upload to original quality to goggle photo/cloud service. But free is free. And it was free on the Pixel 2, lol.
2 - Yes the screen protector comes pre-installed. They also give you a nice clear silicon case as well.
3 - I would of considered the 7T if it came with 256 memory or a Micro SD slot.
4 - Far as that negative review. I would take that with a grain of salt. You show me a new flagship phone and I will show you a negative review, lol.
IMHO, I feel that OP7 Pro is superior to the Pixel 2XL in every way. Even the Camera with its 3 lenses. You won't be disappointed.
To Inpain and JeffBea, Thanks!!!
Now I'm a bit on the fence for the 7T pro or the 7pro.
I'm not a gamer
I want a good camera, but it;'s not a deql breaker.
I'm a performance guy but I'll probably go for the 8 Gig on either model. Can't see spending the extra $200 plus unless you have a serious case to persuade me
Thanks Again,
Rich

Well seems I'll be posting the first post here. Planning to get the P4A at release to upgrade my pixel 2xl.
Debating whether to get the 4 or the 4a, but the better battery life, dual SIM support are better for me than the soli radar crap.
Following, in the same boat, Pixel 2xl camera crashed and unusable for a month now. Phone becoming so slow.

sucks to hear about your camera crashing man. Roll back to Android 9 and it should work, at least that's what I read about that issue. Seems that some hardware drivers got messed up while upgrading from 9 to 10, which is whats causing the crash for the camera in ur case and various other hardware issues with other users. I don't know if it would fix it, worth the shot. Make sure u flash the full factory image, and to make it brand new don't take out the -w and wipe ur device completely clean.
If it does work try to upgrade to 10 by flashing the full factory image.

I would try that but then I would be locked out of my work computer. Have to have camera to scan code. But definitely will try that after I decide on which phone to upgrade to. Twice after this post my phone quit responding to touches and had to reboot it to work.

In the same boat here. I have the 2XL and though I'd love to keep this phone forever, it's starting to experience its fair share of issues. I'm waiting for the 4A. A few of my friends have the 4 and from their experience, Soli hasn't been worth it. Lots of complaints about missing the fingerprint scanner. Besides, not many Android apps support Face ID.
Unlikely the 4A will have an IP68 (or any) rating but that seems like the only downfall of the device. I'm excited to keep my fingerprint reader, dual SIM, and regain a headphone jack.

There is not much price difference with the current discounts that's why I'm torn.
Pixel 4xl
Pros: better soc, better screen, marginally better camera, IP68
Cons: battery life
Pixel 4a
Pros: battery life, dual SIM
Cons: mid-range SOC, marginally worse camera, smaller screen, no IP rating.
As far as the SOC goes, the 730 soc processor should be the same performance as the pixel 3XL in apps which is fine, but will be like the 2xl in games due to the much worse GPU. Should be a whole lot more efficient on battery though. I don't play much games but I hate stutters and lags. Carrying more than 1 phone is also a pain in my a**. I really hope it performs well with no stutters.

I recently upgraded to the 3a xl from the 2 xl. I love it. My wife had the original pixel xl so it was time to upggrade again. I was going to wait for the 4axl since i love the 3a so much. But as was said with the price drop I decided to get the 4xl. The main reason being I had my 3a for 3 days and accidently dropped it in water now I had flagship phones for a long time so i wasnt worried till i realized this phone is not ip rated. so i had to warrenty exchange it after only 3 days. So now my wife has 3a and I have 4. I have to say despite all the reviews the battery life on the 4xl is great. It is certianly on par with all the other pixel xl models I have had. And the only one i did not have was the 3xl. Now the 3axl is a different story that phone has legendary battery life because of its upper mid range processer. But My advice is if you need ip rated phone go for the 4xl. The smaller 4 is where the batttery really becomes an issue from what I have read and I read alot as you can see I am a big google fan had every phone starting with the n6p. oh and back in the day I had a galaxy nexus because I was a samsung fan before that.

That's is my issue, I want the IP rating but I also want the power efficient processor and the dual SIM. I guess I'll decide when it's fully revealed. Glad to see a Google fan, I still own and use every Nexus device from the Galaxy Nexus onward. The Nexus 6p is my all time favorite phone. I would still use it as a main phone if it's processor can be upgraded and get the battery replaced. Cheers buddy.
I've had all the Pixels, liked them all. I traded my P4XL in on an S20+. As before, I'm done with the Galaxy & ready to go back to my Pixel. The 4a looks good to me. A couple compromises but every phone has that. The price though. I've spent 2 and 3 times that for phones. This has to be the most popular Pixel ever. The only downside is the economic disaster at hand. Priorities have changed for a lot of people.

The battery life on my 4xl is still really good and you can turn off the motion sence and the 90hz screen if it really is an issue. And I only charge my phone to 80 only 100 if I am going to be away from a chargers for more than a day and how often does that happen. Also o don't know what carrier you have but I'm on fi and I use esim. I could be wrong but I think o could pop a physical sim in and have dual SIM 1 physical and one esim. And my Nexus 6p was my favorite phone for a long time I did not have any issues with it until the end right before I got my pixel XL. The battery started getting crappy. My poor wife always gets my hand me down phones and she was stuck with it for a while till I got my.pixel 2xl. I even put a new battery in it and it worked ok for.a while and died within 7 months. That phone hadaa great start in life and a hard fall from Grace.

The only thing about Samsung is their hardware is untouchable when it comes to quality. For example the wifi radio it 5 times better than in other phones of the same price. But that software man. I just cant do it. It is a shame the phone has 8 gigs of ram and 7 of it is taken up by system/bloatware. ( and yes 7 gigs is an exaggeration but you get the point) when my friend got the s10 i thought about it because they say the new ui is not like touchwiz but i ran some tests on his brand new s10 and compared them to my pixel 2xl and yeah the s10 had some great features that at the time you could not get with any pixel but I gotta say my 2xl was almost as snappy as his s10 and it all came down to memory management and system resources being used by the s10. Both stock phones no root or anything. Yeah the s10 was a bit faster but the 2xl held up with its 4 gigs of ram and 835 snapdragon against 8gigs of ram and snapdragon 855 in the s10. Its all about knowing the os and how to use it. And google is the undefeated master of both. and dont say well google made android that is only partially true I put this in another post google made android alongside the great devs here at xda its their commits that google uses for pixel features and google watches whats going on here and what people are doing with android and they incorporate it into aosp and then onto pixel. anyway if your like the rest of us and strapped for cash right now you cant go wrong with the 4a. 4xl is still on sale and for that price its a good deal i think I grabbed mine up before things got really rough. Either way you will have a good snappy phone that takes great pics and never bogs down. Stay safe my friends.

I can do with Samsung's crappy software compared to Google's stock Android, but the camera is awful man. Samsung's hardware quality is on par with iPhones but the camera still sucks even with their ultra phone.
Now that apple has got their **** together and I can say pictures are marginally better on iPhones now plus the iphone's video capabilities are untouchable.
Samsung has got to step up their camera game with software and drop the hardware approach on the matter.

I agree with the fact that Samsung needs to try a little harder. Maybe less one ui bull crap and a little more camera optimizations
Hi all, I want to take you my experience. My daily driver for the last 3 years is a OnePlus 5. I'm very satisfied about it's performance, but I really don't like the camera and the videos. And now OnePlus prices are so unaffordable to take a new one. So, I decided to switch to the P4A hoping battery and camera will me easily forget my OP5

If someone can help me. With the leaks I think we pretty much now what to expect from the Pixel 4a.
I have a dilemma though. The Pixel 4A is expected to release at the €400 price in a few weeks. But I can also get the Poco F2 Pro for €450. The issue I have is that looking at the specs and videos available, the F2 PRO has a lot better specs on paper. Larger battery life, HDR10+, big screen Snapdragon 865 so its 5G enabled (in case I ever need it).
I've been running Lineage OS in my very old Oneplus One. And back in the day I had the Nexus One. I would love to get the latest Google updates and I'm missing out on the latest assistant of course.
So I know many of you have been running Pixel phones and are looking at the Pixel 4A.
My question is. Is it really worth it going for a lower specs phone like the Pixel 4A over a phone like the Poco F2 PRO? And if so. Why?
Couldn't II get the same Google experience on the Poco F2 PRO later on by installing a custom ROM?
Thans for your help.

My 2 cents after using all the Nexus and pixel phones up to the 2xl. Haven't upgraded since cause the 3XL and 4XL have sub par battery performance, more on the 3XL than the 4XL though.
The only reason I can not bare to use another phone is the camera. I was spoiled with the photo quality of the Nexus 6p which is still better than a lot of 2020 flagship phones camera performance. I upgraded to the OnePlus 6 from the Nexus 6p which was an amazing phone at the time, but after two months I switch to the pixel 2xl solely because of the photo quality from the cameras. Google camera ports are never reliable, you should not buy a phone thinking you will use it full time cause u won't be able to.
Pixel phones lack support except in the US. Always plagued with hardware issues and it's a lottery if you get a device without the issues. Since I don't live in the US it's a pain in the ass to even get a case or a screen protector and I have to pay for international shipping. I couldn't even file the Nexus 6p class action lawsuit claim cause I don't live in the US. God forbid if I break the screen or anything happens, I'm completely on my own. Honestly I'm kind of fed up with Google and their crap. I'm one of their most loyal customers but they do not care about their customer base while they just want to grow pixel sales, which is contradictive.
Also there is the news of Marc Levoy leaving Google after he basically put them on the map, cause imo if the pixel phones had the same camera as other phones it wouldn't have sold more than a few hundred phones ever year. This news comes with a lot of concern, imo the camera quality didn't improve much in the last 4 years (Nexus 6p). Phones from the Nexus 6p are very comparable to photos from the pixel 3XL. Very slight improvements every year, while apple just closed the gap this year with the iPhone 11.
With the discounts of the 4XL only real difference is
1- get a mid range phone with good battery life and possibly no hardware issues cause they are not trying to reinvent the wheel with this one, like they do with the pixel line.
2- get the flagship pixel 4XL but gamble on screen quality and battery life. I have seen people on reddit saying that their pixel 4XL has worse screens than their pixel 2XL. The screen on the pixel 2xl is the worst thing on it! And was considered a con when it came out.
After realizing that both choices are bad, I'm starting to seriously consider jumping ship to apple with the upcoming iPhone 12pro. With apply I would certainly get what I pay for in terms of quality, still with a list of disadvantage. But I would get official support world wide, buying accessories won't be such a pain in my ass and most importantly camera quality is now debated to be on the same level as pixels if not better.
This got way longer than intended.
TL;DR: The only reason to get a pixel is to have one of the best cameras on a phone. Other than that it's all the same with android, more or less. Specially of you root get into custom roms.
