Custom Roms & Pixel Software? - Google Pixel 2 Questions & Answers

Hello,
can anyone tell me, if or wich custom ROMs do include the pixel software?
For instance, is the camera-software the same (good) and is there still Google Assistent present?
I don't want to spam each rom-thread with this same question, maybe someone can tell me before I go custom.
The camera software and Google Assistent would be a reason to stay with stock & Xposed, even if I normally prefer custom ROMs.
Thx

That i known is for Google assistant is present on all roms out there

Yes, they all should have it....

They all have Google Assistant, but they all are missing the squeeze feature to activate it that way. Activation by voice is working.

Suggestion for MI 10 Pro Chinese to Global or just Gapps?

Hey guys, just got the MI 10 Pro Chinese version. Wondering if there's a seamless way to change it to the Global version OR should I just consider finding and adding the latest Gapps to it?
Anyone using just Google Apps and if the experience is the same as any global rom?
Also if someone can point me to the correct global rom thread and where to find the latest Gapps?
Thanks!
I am also wondering something along the lines of this. I have a Mi 10 ultra on Chinese Official Rom and have had some issues relating to your question. I basically debloated the device to the max and added all the Google apps and play store. It works quite well after some tweaking to get it the way I liked it. I do have some issues. 1. Basically cant get the assistant app to work. The main reason is the permissions keep getting reset requiring my reapproval each time its activated which kind of defeats the purpose. same thing happens to the phone and message google apps where the phone defaulted to the Mi stock dialer and message. not sure why. 2. I get random updates settings changed. Like one time I had a new AOD image. No idea why. 4. Some minor random updates like 1 every 3 days. These are the biggest issues ive noticed so far. Overall this device is awesome so I'd personally prefer it to be Gapps optimized but I don't want to fool with having a rooted device and the hoops involved in use since I use my phone for work and play.

Blackview BV9500 Plus customized rom

I have a requirement for custom ROM for bv9500 plus.
I want to remove the camera option in it and should support google apps.
Let me know if you can give me a quick solution with the software for this, I am ready to pay for your fees.

P40 Lite 5G

I got a P40 Lite 5G in the last couple of days, and didn't think or know about the Huawei / Google issues. I'm not from the US, so it was something I heard in the news, but wasn't sure if it would affect us.
I'm probably fine without having google services on my phone for personal use, the alternatives should be fine - never been a big fan of getting tracked like that anyways.
BUT, we use GSuite at work and I need Google Chat on my phone ... so it's a pretty hard stop for me
I'm not opposed to rooting the phone and installing a custom rom, but:
1. Does this solve all the problems, does google apps/services work fine on a rooted phone and custom rom? Or does google block it based on the hardware? (Is that what the spoofing circumvents, or would it still not work?)
2. Doesn't seem like there are any custom roms available even?
I searched through the forum here and did not see anything that looked like it works, I did try Googlefier, MicroG, etc - none worked so far. (My EMUI is already updated, which I understood you shouldn't do - didn't know).
That said, most of these posts were from a few months back, not sure if anything has changed by now?
Any help/advice appreciated, please

As far as I know we can't root the phone.
The best work around I've found is using vmos to create a sandbox for Google login. It's not perfect but it does the job I need.
If I'm not wrong, you can still use the web browser version, like Doc, Sheet, Slide, Keep, Calendar and etc. So most probably you can still use Google Chat in your mobile browser without problem.
Yeah, but google chat doesn't have a mobile web version ... you can put Chrome into "Desktop Site" mode, but it's not a great experience.
Also, the important part for having it on my mobile is the notifications of new messages if there's any issues...
I thought id highjack to ask my own questons about the p40 lite 5g in relation to the dualspace method
how often do i have to reinstall dualspace?
Is the process of upgrading google apps any more complicated than stock android?
Are there any google apps that cant be installed?
are there any apps that have only partial functionality?
Do the apps crash any more often?
do the google apps have ads in them?
are the ads intrusive?
does it need to be rooted?
How does dualspace affect the phones and apps performance?
I didn't find any functionality of DualSpace ... on Mate40 pro.
Maps isn't working ok, banking apps isn't working (security warnings) ... Nothing new for me.

Switch from iOS to 8T - some questions

Hello
I did pick an Oneplus 8T on Prime Day, its still sealed and
last 3 Days i collect some Informations about Android / OxygenOS and about Custom Roms and Debloat Stuff.
I had an Samsung Galaxy S2 as my Daily Driver , at this time Android was really Bad
in the end i Root and used Cynagon with Android 6? idk anymore.
since those Days i used Apple Devices as my Daily Driver, i try some breaks from the Apple ecosystem with an P30 Pro and S10+ ( for an Month ) but switched back to iOS cuz Privacy issues.
And this is the Reason why i start the Thread "Privacy" is important for me.
So how is the Privacy and influence from Google to Track and Spy at you if u:
1. Create a New Account
2. Turn everything OFF u can
3. Dont use Google APPĀ“s / Services ( Not that hard .. if coming from Apple )
4. Debloat with ADB
and using maybe only the Google Playstore.
Thanks for any helpfull comments
Lineage OS is officially supported on the 8t, for privacy i'd flash that and not use gapps. You can get your bootloader unlocked easily and be off the to races
Or just use oos and debloat all of Google apps with xxxnolimits magisk ROM
You can use Android without creating a Google account. You can also disable pretty much every app.
You do need a Google account to use the Play store. So if you want to install apps without an account, just download APKs from the internet.
Just curious, what kind of information do you not want to share with Google? Or Apple for that matter?

I don't believe so. Why?

Best replacement dialer app? (That doesn't need the big G)

If you are using a dialer app that isn't dependent on Google Services, and isn't the one that came with your phone (i.e. dependent on a bunch of manufacturer bloat), and you like it... could you share?
Optimally, it is open-source. I do not mind paid apps, but I need to be able to get it without Google Play (this is going on a Micro-G system, with no Store replacement).
"Simple Dialer" off F-Droid (et al) fits this bill nicely, but it has a few quirks that are too trivial to whine about but too lengthy to fix myself from source. I've tried the others there, not really what I am looking for.
Check out on f-droid
the most used FOSS dialers are
koler and true phone
out of the box , there is also the aosp phone (tipically comes from lineageOS)
If I am not mistaking there are also a magisk module for MIUI dialer

Regrets kind sir, as mentioned, I already did that. Not trying to pick on any FOSS contribution, but none of those work quite as well for me as I want them to. To quantify, The LG dialer is the best functioning one I've used, but it requires AFAIK the whole platform (i.e. LG firmware) to work. There might be a way, but in the end, it is closed source from a vendor no longer selling phones, so a bit of a security risk IMHO.

? Please tell me more. That's an Xiaomi thing, right? You are saying it works with other brands, too? ( OnePlus Nord N10 5G in this case)

Sorry, my bad
I saw a set of miui magisk modules, but checking better no dial in them
What's the problem with your n10 dialer?
tipically dialer rely on other system services, so if there is a problem, maybe is not in the dial app, but more deep in the system
did you already try a factory reset?

Current version relies on Google Services, which have been removed from my phone. Most phones now are ditching OEM dialers for this.

I am removing gservices as well, and koler for me works on A12 and on A11, also gdialer works even without services
@SomeRandomGuy
I notice a particolare behavior:
if you just replace the dialer apk, maybe the incall-ui will not work propertly
you should try installing the new dialer,
set It as default in the application settings
then remove the stock dialer
Aaaaand... here's why I ask this:
