Should I install OTA update or not - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone, I currently have a mate 9 with Oreo 8.0.0 installed with an unlocked bootloader, TWRP and rooted with SuperSU..
I just got a notification that there is an update pending. My current build number is mha-l29 8.0.0.360(c567). The update in question is mha-l29 8.0.0.367(c567). Should I accept the install? What will happen to my root and TWRP? Thanks

it won't install on TWRP. you can revert to stock recovery or install through HWOTA8 where you will also loose root and TWRP but not data...

Little Help - Update ROOT Honor 8 from FRD-L09C432B131 to B360 (Nougat 7.0)

Hi All,
I would like just a little help on how to update correctly a rooted Honor 8 on MM 6.0 to Nougat 7.0 ?
Meaning from firmware B131 to B360 ?
OTA doesn't work, even when i disabled ROOT. I also tried bootloader to force update but it fails during the process.
Any idea what to do next? Do I need to relock the bootloader and remove TWRP before proceeding?
Thanks very much!
Unroot, flash stock recovery for the emui version you have
I guess this would also include a full wipe? Or is it possible to just update without wipe and still get a good result?

C567 Oreo Update with TWRP?

Hi everyone,
I got about halfway through the rooting process with my unlocked Mate 9 (unlocked boot loader, installed TWRP) but didn't end up rooting or installing any roms because for some reason backup is not working with TWRP.
I have received the Oreo OTA update but cannot install it OTA because of TWRP; is there any way to either 1. return to the stock boot loader and install OTA update or 2. install Oreo with TWRP? Thanks!

Does OTA update lose root??

Hi, I'm very very new about Huawei devices, and I have a question..
I'm on build 8.0.0.120 (C432), and I can update my device to 8.0.0.130 (C432)..
I've rooted my Honor V10 with Magisk and I've TWRP recovery...
If I install this OTA update, I will lose root, or because the system partition on this device is read-only, I can update without lose anythings????
Thanks at all

Magisk has an add-on to survive OTAs, but I really don't know

I would be surprised if you can install an OTA with TWRP recovery.
To successfully apply the OTA you probably have to do something like this
Deinstall Magisk
Flash stock recovery
Apply OTA
Flash TWRP
Install Magisk

Updating rooted Google Pixel from Oreo to Pie?

Hey.
I have a Google Pixel running on Oreo (8.1.0) rooted with Magisk. Earlier today i got the OTA for android Pie (9.0).
Can anyone help me out by providing steps as to what do i need to do in order to update to android 9? Do i unroot and install OTA update or simply flash the update package from the recovery?
Edit : My bootloader is unlocked (ofcourse) and i have TWRP recovery.
Thanks
Sideload the OTA file following the instructions here:
https://developers.google.com/android/ota
Keep in mind that you will lose root and TWRP. You'll have to repeat the procedure to (boot from and) install TWRP, then install Magisk, as you did before.

How to update stock MIUI on a rooted phone with twrp?

I am on global rom and got an ota update.
Can I update without issues? Or will magisk or twrp cause problems?
Do I have to remove twrp and root before I update or is there any other way?
