Issue
I used phone to attend a call, while it was charging and because of that probably it stopped charging(whilst I was on call)
and then it now the issue is that charges only when the phone is switched OFF.
The charger/USB is not detected when turned ON.
How ever,
But while turned OFF its clearly charging like a charm.,
Appreciating comments!

The fact that the phone charges when off is a sign that the problem is probably software based. Try to boot to recovery and clear cache. If that doesn't work, you might have to do a factory reset. But before doing a factory reset, let's see if anyone will come up with less drastic solutions

Have you tried a different USB cable/ charger?
Yes bro.., I tried almost 10 different cables
Yes bro.., I tried almost 10 different cables
Just wondering it would be something like,
because of hardware issue in the phones usb-port, there is some volt difference, that's why when the system OS is UP it avoids detecting the cable.,
and when the OS is OFF the battery is able to charge..

did you maybe updated you software? It could be some modified ROM by carrier.
My advice if you really want to solve your issue is to flash ROM with OST
OST thread:

.nb0 (ROM) download:

Bought my tab t310 last july. A few months ago plugged in the original cable/wall charger to charge but nothing happened. Restarting allows normal charging. It happens intermittently. Tab is rooted, stock rom. Any ideas what can be wrong with it? Time to RMA and look for something different?

Maybe a physical problem with the plug on the tablet. I have caught myself trying to force the charger cable up-side-down into the tab. maybe you did that unknowingly. If you think it's software, i recommend trying the Galatab3 Kernel, it allows the tab to charge from the wall and USB.

I never forced the plug the wrong way, charge only from the wall using the original cable/adapter because pc usb 2.0 doesn't charge it and my other chargers have lower amps. No physical damage. Maybe it has something to do with root? I'll look into that kernel but don't want to make things worse in case i have to RMA. Happens intermittently, restarting makes charging work.

no, this is a known problem with the t310. It happens to me as well. I think it happens if the % drops below 10%. Its like the USB port goes on deep sleep. I think there's a thread somewhere were somebody RMA and it still did it after it came back.

yea, everything. I remembered I also noticed it at higher %. You know when I noticed it the most was when I have it connected to pc to transfer a music lets say. Then I tried to charge and nothing.
Hi,
The display and sound of my Nexus 5 was not working for a whole day.
When I pressed the power button to unlock my device, the display was not coming up. Normal trouble shooting is to remove the battery and switch on, but that will not work since it is embedded.
I have tried calling to my phone to check whether it is switched off. Surprisingly, it was ringing from the calling end but there was no display or sound on my phone.
I have connected to the charger and the battery icon was not coming (may be because of display issue).
Next morning when I called to my phone it was saying as switched off and when I tried to charge again, the battery icon came and it started charging from 0%. It was charged completely on the previous day (I used to get up to 2 days on battery) and now it is completely drained.
Not sure what happened on that day. Any one faced an issue like this before? I am not sure whether it is because of any hardware issue.
When I contacted Google, they started giving troubleshooting tips. But I am not sure how to find the root cause of this.
Please help.
Try a different charger and cable. Sounds like it was dead and not charging.
Or worse case would be a defect in the phones mini USB port.

To make it more clear, the issue was happened only for a day and when i tried to call to the mobile, it was ringing in the calling end.
In that case i don't think it was an issue with the charger or port.
So all is fine now? Then I wouldn't worry about it. Stuff happens occasionally. ?

Wack for me, too--for lots of people. Hain't seen no plausible fixes offered, except revert to LP.
And oh yeah, it might've worked properly in the most recent COS.

My unlearned belief is that it is MM related, however I'm now back on LP and getting skewed charging also.
Here's some MM charging info:
https://www.androidpit.com/android-marshmallow-problems-and-how-to-fix-them#charging
http://www.tomsguide.com/faq/id-3050564/fix-charging-issues-android-marshmallow.html
In my case, something might've happened when I tried to clean my phone's micro-usb contacts--maybe I still had 50% alcohol (that means it contins 50% water, which is conductive) in the phone when I plugged in to charge, for example.

I have not found a sure fix, and will update if I do. The prognosis is not good.
Just went back to stock CM11S, after a harrowing hard brick in which I thought I'd lost the phone, by misusing someone's tool.
Found an unbrick tool that saved my phone and my day:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/tool-oneplusrecovery-tool-v1-0-restore-t2991851
So the phone is now on CM11S, and I don't see anything different charging-wise--I thought it would return to normal, but it hasn't--is slow.
The charge light doesn't come on when the phone is off and charging, but I don't remember if that's normal or not.
Will see how it goes, and post.
Now back on the latest SultanXDA unofficial CM13, with charging acting up as it has been with other roms.

I went back to cm11s stock. Then upgraded to official cm13.1 for firmware. Then installed sultanxda's unofficial cm13.0. Completely charged and drained the battery. Restarted the phone to be sure the battery was completely drained until the phone would not restart. Then I immediately repeated the charge/discharge cycle, twice. Then recharged the phone fully. I believe the charging works properly, that is at the proper speed up to 100%, and the charging status is accurate.
There is one other thing though--at home I use the phone for tethering, which I haven't been doing at my friend's house. I'll see it that matters.
The way I discharged the phone quickly was by leaving a movie running full-time screen at full brightness, but there are prolly other methods.
I'll see how it goes.

Reporting back:
The SultanXDA rom seemed to settle in with charging, so that now charging is very dependable, and it not affected by tether or heat.
I switched off to try Revolution Remix, and charging is again iffy, but not as bad as before.

Try changing kernel with fast charge enabled.......like boffela etc
Hi dear xda users
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930F model and facing a very frustrating issue. The problem began a couple of months ago, when I woke up, the fast charging ability and any USB connection with computer was gone.
The steps that I've tried
1) I have tried it with multiple computers, multiple USB ports and ORIGINAL 2.0A fast wall chargers, can't recognize it,can't fast charge.
2) I have installed ADB drivers and all Samsung drivers, still not recognized, still can't fast charge.
3) I've tried to revert it to stock with stock firmware, stock bootloader and modem, even in Fastboot Download mode, still not recognized.
4) Last thing, I thought it might be the charging port (flex) is broken and I've had it changed with the same new charging flex in front of my eyes with a technician and still can't get it recognized or fast charged.
5) I have changed the settings and tried almost all combinations from the dialer menu *#8800#, still can't!
The device did not contact any water at all and I am beginning to think that motherboard is corrupt somehow.
Another bad news is Samsung Turkey Official Service Centers are denying to repair the devices that you bought from any other country (SHAME ON YOU SAMSUNG!)
They basically won't replace or repair anything with in my phone! (still, it is the same model that they sell in Turkey)
Have anyone faced the similar issues with me?
Only thing I know of is if you have USB debugging on, it prevents some USB functionality until turned off. But if you flashed stock, USB debugging should have reverted to stock.
And yes Samsung warranty doesn't cover grey imports, you have to buy locally.

I've tried almost all possibilities and no, you got me wrong, I am not asking for a warranty covered service, even I say that I am going to pay for it, they won't do it.

You mention charging port "Flex", I assumed by that wording you meant some cable from the port
Well only thing left is the battery and main motherboard really
happened to my old s7 edge and i did all you have done too but no luck. it is some software bug i read soemwhere which only samsung can fix via ota cause our phone cant get detected by pc to flash rom. so all eforts in vain , and i sold the phone in the end. also mine used to get charged in 5-6 hours cause it detecs every cable as usb cable.
I have same problem my phone charging 0-100 6hours but ı install notorious kernel and it takes 3 hours it is better than 6 hours

Almost everyone in this forum has a rooted phone, yet this is an issue few have experienced. Rooting might be the first step they took to breaking something, but rooting alone couldn't be the cause otherwise you'd see way more of this.
Keep it on track guys!!!!!
How are we gonna fix this! I'm scared if my phone dies and I can't connect it to a pc..
Hi
I was wondering why my s8+ doesnt show screen anymore? Ive had it completely drained its battery and since then its screen wont turn on? I can hear the volume buttons responding and even vibrating when the sound gets turned off and when charging the led is flashing red.
Also the computer doesnt recognise my phone after pluggin the phone in the comp. It rather sees "samsung mobile composit device"
